Conseco on a TEAR!!!
Conseco, Inc. CNO today announced preliminary results for second quarter of 2009.
"Conseco, on a preliminary basis, and consistent with its first quarter performance, expects to report continued profitability in the second quarter," CEO Jim Prieur said. "Also consistent with our expectations was an increase in second quarter earnings over the seasonally weak first quarter by our Bankers Life business, which also had a 6 percent increase over 2008 in core sales for the quarter," Prieur said, adding that, "we are issuing preliminary results in an effort to provide timely information to the investment community."
With a 4% price drop last week the vultures are buying heavy, could it be another run in store??
Any thoughts..
Hopefully the outlook is still in the GREEN, not sure about a high expectation either, @ this time last year oil was $ 130.00+ BBL kinda hard to top that!!
But what a GREAT run so far.
More Dilution, my next buy order is $1.20 or lower for next weeks dump.
Good call but seems pretty conservitive when the price could be over $6.00 after the next earnings report turns more positive.
It will be interesting to watch for August and September Im holding it for awhile.
Monday could see a 25 cent jump, Fridays are always sell days in my book.

Great after hours push, monday should be interesting.
Tuesday could be FUN!!!
WASHINGTON - The Energy Department is lending money to the Ford Motor Co. and two other automakers from a $25 billion fund to develop fuel-efficient vehicles, congressional officials said Monday.
Energy Secretary Steven Chu was scheduled to announce the loan funding for Ford, Nissan Motor Co. and Tesla Motors Inc. on Tuesday in Dearborn, Mich., the officials said. They requested anonymity because an official announcement was pending.
Dozens of auto companies, suppliers and battery makers have sought a total of $38 billion from the loan program. Ford has asked to receive $5 billion in loans by 2011, but it was unclear how much money the automaker would receive. Nissan has applied for an undisclosed amount of assistance, while Tesla has sought $450 million.
The Energy Department declined to comment on the plans. Chu has not yet announced the first recipients of the loans, which have been closely watched by members of Congress from states with auto plants and suppliers.
Congress approved the loan program last year to help car companies and suppliers retool their facilities to develop green vehicles and components such as advanced batteries.
The loans were designed to help the auto manufacturers meet new fuel-efficiency standards of at least 35 miles per gallon by 2020, a 40 percent increase over current standards.
General Motors Corp. and Chrysler Group LLC have received billions of dollars in federal loans to restructure their companies through government-led bankruptcies, but Ford avoided seeking emergency aid by mortgaging all of its assets in 2006 to borrow about $25 billion.
General Motors has requested $10.3 billion in loans from the program, while Chrysler has asked for $6 billion in loans. Energy officials have said the loans could only go to "financially viable" companies, preventing GM and Chrysler to qualify for the first round of the loans.
Ford has sought a total of $11 billion from the loan program and has previously said it would invest $14 billion in advanced technologies over the next seven years. The loan application, which was submitted by the company late last year, would help Ford finance the investment.
Ford has said it intends to bring several battery-electric vehicles to market. The automaker has discussed plans to produce a battery-electric vehicle van in 2010 for commercial use, a small battery-electric sedan developed with Magna International by 2011 and a plug-in electric vehicle by 2012.
Ford spokesman Mark Truby declined to comment.
Nissan is developing an all-electric car with 100 miles of pure battery range for release in late 2010. The car will be made in Japan initially but company officials have said they eventually want to build the vehicle at Nissan's plant in Smyrna, Tenn.
Nissan spokesman Fred Standish said the automaker hoped "to be approved for this loan as we provided a very strong business proposal. At this time, we have nothing further to say or to announce."
Tesla is seeking $350 million in loans for an assembly plant to build its Model S four-door sedan, which is scheduled to go on sale in 2011. The San Carlos, Calif.-based company is also seeking $100 million to finance an advanced battery and powertrain manufacturing facility.
Tesla spokeswoman Rachel Konrad referred questions about the loan program's timing and approval to the Energy Department.

Tiny Medical Company Looking For a Buyer.
Ingen Technologies - a tiny Yucaipa-based medical respiratory and diagnostic device maker - says it will "explore" selling the company.
"Our latest news regarding the recent debt reduction and expected profitability in our coming fourth quarter has opened doors with larger and proven successful publicly traded medical companies to acquire Ingen," said CEO Scott Sand in a company statement.
The company has hired an investment banker to look at potential acquisition offers.
Ingen "would only consider a buyout based upon the value of the assets, including the increased value in the patents and intellectual property," said Thomas Neavitt, chief financial officer, in the statement.
On Monday, the company said it expects to make a profit between October and December.
Any earnings would be good news. Ingen reported $8.1million in losses over the last three fiscal years.
The company also had a $10.6million deficit as of May31 and "must decrease its cash burn rate" to grow the business, according to Securities and Exchange Commission filings.
On Thursday, Ingen said it increased the first shipment of Oxyview-Nasal Cannula orders from 10,000 to 62,000 units, and increased production inventory for June to 100,000 units, totaling in a revenue value of $2.8 million.
Oxyview-Nasal Cannula is a device the company started manufacturing earlier this month that's used to deliver supplemental oxygen to patients.

Ford News.
DEARBORN, Mich., June 18 (UPI) -- U.S. auto giant Ford Motor Co. said it would push union workers to accept a no-strike clause in their contract to match agreements at rival car companies.
Chrysler, which filed for bankruptcy April 30, and General Motors Corp., which filed June 1, negotiated no-strike clauses with the United Auto Workers to help rein in labor concerns and costs, the Detroit Free Press reported Thursday.
The no-strike deals expire in 2015.
Ford Chief Executive Officer Alan Mulally said a no-strike agreement was "one piece of the conversation we're having with them," referring to the United Auto Workers union.
"We continue to talk with them on improving our competitiveness," he said. Ford has been able to avoid bankruptcy and reaching out for government assistance, which gives the company "so many more advantages," Mulally said.
"People also want to know they are with a company that is viable, that will be here long-term and that is on a positive track," he said.
