aire - Do you think the next top in the 50-55 year cycle could be a major top in the overall market averages? When do you think it might occur?
Thanks,
cash - If "the next 50-55 year cycle started in 1982."
When do you think it might peak? What would the time window be if it were (1)"left translated?" (2)"Right translated?"
Thanks,
In bull markets - Fridays are best days!
IMHO Oils will continue to lead!
my count since 1982 - beginning 5333 up!!!
Europe/mid-east higher across the board!...

jazz - Thanks for the great T/A!
jazz - Thanks for the great T/A!
soccerball - IMHO the "Oil-Run" has just begun!
Their p/e ratios are rediculously low compared to the tech stocks, etc. and their future prospects have never been brighter! Unless their p/e ratios drop even lower, their share prices are sure to rise right along with their earnings!
(When the oils become more popular than the NDX, I will begin to worry)
frank/esperanto - Glad you liked the pics!... If there is anything specific you would like to see, I will be happy to shoot it (if I haven't already). My batteries are always charged (ditto for the ones in my cameras)!
but nothing will beat the oils!!!
soccerball - Transports breaking out as well!
put/call ratio extremely high...

Western Gas Resources Q4 earnings double!
(WGR) By Aude Lagorce
LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Western Gas Resources, Inc. (WGR) reported fourth-quarter net income that more than doubled to $41 million, or 55 cents a share, compared to the year-earlier quarter thanks to higher natural gas prices and production volume growth. Sales for the period jumped to $696 million from last year's $554 million.
(Oil & Gas sector "funny-mentals" confirm the bullish T/A)
aire - DJIA 7% oils, XMI 15% oils!
(Some folks just "can't see the forest for the trees")
Thanks for the very informative post.
tech - Even if you are a perma-bear, how could you even think of shorting a stock that is trading at four times earnings? That happens to be the lowest p/e this stock has ever had! There are plenty of overpriced stocks on the market, but FRE is definitely not one of them. They could write off BILLIONS, and still have a reasonable multiple.
I realize that you are using T/A and not "funny-mentals" to make your trading decisions, but why not look at the big picture from both angles? JMHO
Peter - Disregard that! (not in Fortaleza)
Peter - This is less than $100,000...

frank - If it's late Sept/early Oct, I might be able to make it up there (from Brazil).
Looks bullish to me - commercials covering, small specs selling
So what's your count since 1982?
(mine is beginning 5333 today)
cash - Since the oils are leading this final stage of the bull market, the reason for "the divergent market action of NDX/Naz vs. SPX/OEX/DJIA/SOX" is that the NDX/Naz have ZERO OILS!

IMHO 10/02 bottom ended wave 4 of the big bull market that started in 1982... Therefore, we are about to begin 5333 of that same bull market... Certainly not a time to be bearish!
The following site shows that the oil sector has been in the lead for a very long time, thereby indicating that we are in the latter stages of an enormous bull market... (i.e. 5333)
http://stockcharts.com/charts/performance/SPSectors.html
Therefore, since the "major oils" have been strongest to date, it is time to rotate funds to the "secondary oils" and the "penny oils" for the real action yet to come! After all, the major oils have only gained 60% in the last 12 months which is no more than "one good day" for a penny stock.
Thanks Frank, Great Chart! eom
Tech-stocks close lower as crude-oil price surges ($COMPQ, $SOX, MSFT, INTC) By Michael Paige
LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- Technology stocks closed lower Tuesday as U.S. equities came under broad selling pressure on surging crude-oil prices. The tech-laden Nasdaq Composite Index ($COMPQ) ended the session lower by 28 points, or well over 1 percent, at 2,030. The decline extended the index's nearly 1 percent declined suffered for all of the prior week. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index ($SOX) lost nearly 2 points, or half a percent, to 425 as chip stocks succumbed and gave up their earlier relative overall strength. Among actively traded stocks, Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) lost 25 cents, or 1 percent, to $25.23 and Intel Corp. (INTC) slumped 26 cents, or also 1 percent, to $23.76.
My oil stocks make new highs regardless of what the broad markets do! Until the oils turn, I won't be giving back a penny... (thanks anyway, for your concern)
Naz nonconfirmation of lower low bullish!
cash - Until we "cross the line" (below the 1/24 low) the uptrend is intact! (IMO wave 2 just ended)
"Buy when blood is in streets!"
All Dow stocks down! ("Selling Climax")...
RALLY TIME!!!
IMO 2 waves complete since 1/24 low... (wave 3 up starting now)
RALLY TIME!!!
Why assume "support break" before happening?...
("cycle guys" use stops just like the rest of us)
Peter - Rates are very affordable up to 256k and very reliable. Also, I see some other sources on the internet...
I have a dial-up with 115.2k for ten bucks a month as a temporary source while I wait for the cable company to wire the building where I just moved into a new apartment. Then I will be back up to 256k.

Peter - Yes, a fast dial up is $10/mo. DSL is available through either cable or phone line for about the same price I paid in Califoria. (depends on the number of movie channels, etc.) If you're living in the outback, you can still get high-speed connections via satellite.
Peter - My son JonAndre went to Brazil for the "New Mellenium" and "Carnival" celebrations, and he met a guy from Israel who said he had been to every city in the world, and that Fortaleza was where he had the best time. Needless to say, my son insisted that I go there as well. That was when I started researching it on the internet, and decided it had great potential. The rest is history!
