My opinion is that if Apple uses liquidmetal in their iphone or any other product, LQMT shares could rise way beyond $1 to anywhere between $5-$10 per share.
A few reasons (not the Apple hype) for my speculation:
I have followed all the posts on this board and yahoo. Although I have been impressed by the knowledge on this board, I honestly think those who have interpreted Apple's licensing agreement with Liquidmetal have done so with limited knowledge. In other words,I am not convinced that the licensing agreement gives us complete knowledge regarding whether or not Liquidmetal will directly or indirectly derive revenue from Apple's use of liquidmetal in their products if, and when Apple uses liquidmetal. It's possible, as most have postulated, that liquidmetal won't derive any direct revenue from Apple, or indirect revenue through partners. But I think it's just as feasible that they might--again I am not convinced the licensing agreement spells this out clearly either way, but I am betting on the later.
Second, Apple is the new money that invested into Liquidmetal in a more profound way than Barney Visser--with an investment of 20 million dollars into LQMT. Kang is out because Apple-the new money-wanted him out-I believe. Steipp is in because the new money wanted someone they knew they could trust to be steering the Liquidmetal ship. I believe this relationship between LQMT and Apple has been underestimated on this board, understandably due to limited information in a licensing agreement, and secrecy on Apple and Liquidmetal's part. I am leaning the other way and banking on a more profound and ongoing relationship between Liquidmetal and Apple that does result in revenue for Liquidmetal.
Thirdly, I have been long for over a year now with LQMT, not because of Visser, Engel, or Materion, but because I am betting on the investment in and relationship Apple has made with Liquidmetal. I know many on this board have much greater wisdom and history than me regarding liquidmetal as a company and it's products, but I am vested into LQMT because of Apple. Visser, Engel and Materion, in my opinon are the iceing on the cake, not the other way around.
Fourthly, I haven't traded on Apple hype. I will trade my shares when and if Apple finally announces Liquidmetal in their products.
Finally, "Tohu Wabohu" (Hebrew-for "without form and void") biblically the condition of the earth before God gave it form. Also true of the condition of Liquidmetal as a company, before Apple's investment into it.(:
