a "slight speed-bump"
Given the $2.3 billion valuation of Ultrack's competitor, which was announced yesterday, combined with this downward spiral of MJLB's stock, such that the market cap is a puny $16 million, shouldn't there be some buyout interest? Imagine a global company that could facilitate worldwide expansion of Ultrack's products. Wouldn't 50 million be a small price to pay (and an easy sell for company execs) for Ultrack's future? Seems to me $100 million would be a small price and a low risk bet. Just thinking out loud.
a classic free rider/collective action problem (see economist, Mancur Olson).
I only wish I held sway over FPInnovations...but they're too busy telling us how to live with wood.
I THINK MANAGEMENT HAS A BIG NEWS ITEM THAT THEY'RE GOING TO SPRING ON US!!!
I think that management is busy cooking something up as we speak. There's got to be a good reason why they haven't put out a press release in over 7 weeks. I don't think they're clueless or indifferent to the suffering of their shareholders. I think they have some very positive private information that they're holding on to until they finalize it. Who knows? Maybe the new ad has drummed up a major contract or two?
let's say the stock goes to .5 by the end of the year (anytime from now until then). The stock I just bought at $3500 will be worth $35,000. Something to think about if you're not pulling the trigger here.
I'm happy to buy here, whether 4s come or not. I doubt they will. But if they do, who cares in the long run? 5s, 4s, this is all Alice-in-Wonderland. Should have never happened. I'm betting it's just a blip soon, a rough patch caused by feckless entities who held MJLB hostage for a few months.
I'm going to take out the .0538s.
If MJLB has an ace in the hole, a get out of jail free card, or trick up their sleeve, now is the time to reveal it.
100% agree, Cy. The worst is over. Bright skies ahead--seems obvious to me.
the tweet on pet tracking was very similar in cryptic nature to the picture Michael took of the new office building back in March. It took a couple of days for management to clue us in on the nuts and bolts of the story. I wouldn't be surprised if we hear something big any moment now.
I have no reason to gainsay the information of the insider, who said that ELDs would be certified by next week. So I'm guessing this is rock bottom for MJLB. Rock bottom.
I have 100000 shares left in another stock that is trading at the same price as MJLB. I doubled on that one, so? It's nickels and dimes in the overall scheme of things.
I'm buying more today. Fools they are. Seems like some people on this board are really spooked. I can't figure out what has changed. The price has been around 5-6 cents for a month now.
why next year? You don't think that MJLB will get a big pop with certification, then the "massive" contracts get finalized, then new contracts can be announced. Revenues, earnings jump, and expansion. ALl this year. Plus many other positive things going on outside of ELDs, including what looks to be pet tracking. Why next year? This is MJLB's time to shine, no? I'm not just puffing to boost spirits here. I believe this completely. Makes sense, no? Where have I got the story wrong?
"...roll over, die and disappear"? Why do you feel that way? I think big things are going on and will be announced shortly.
here's a question for the board: If there are 450 individual tests for each ELD, how long can they take? What I don't understand is how they haven't completed testing even one device? We know that they've had devices and could test them (because the lockdown ended) for a month now. So it takes more than a month to test one ELD device? How can that be? I guess the short version of the question: how much time does one ELD take to test and certify? Or is the problem that FPI is doing one battery of tests for all the devices (or a batch of them), and then moving on to the next battery of tests, and so on. such that, by the time they get to test #450, they'll have a dozen ELDs certified? Otherwise, I'm very confused how it's June 18 and no device has been certified (that would be an average of one device per month or more)! Originally, they said it would take 4-6 weeks. But they've already tested the devices for those things. Will they have to start all over again for each device?! Why?
1.5k traded over the first half hour. I think that's a record low for MJLB.
many thanks, paperman. It's no biggey. I'm confident that MJLB is a 25 cent stock, so I'll be happy as a clam soon enough--as we all will be. It's just been much more of a circuitous route than I had anticipated, needless to say. Stay the course.
great! That's what I wanted to hear :)
what does this mean for MJLB? Is it good news because their valuation is $2.3B and MJLB is a measly $16 million? Or is it bad news?
agreed. There's no reason, however, why MJLB should let us twist in the wind while we wait for certification. It wasn't their fault, of course, but it wasn't ours either.
I'm tapped out and down $300,000 on this investment. I'd love to be able to load up here. It's not tunnel vision, it's desperation. I can't change the price of this stock (though some here think otherwise). I'm powerless.
We've been forsaken by management for months now. It's just that simple. No press release in 7 weeks--and the last one was terrible news. If they're doing great things behind the scenes--if the pre-summer launch is drumming up business--what difference does it make to us. We're getting killed, and they have the power to turn this around, but they're indifferent to the suffering of their shareholders. I never thought I'd be saying these words, but it's been demonstrably true for two months now--when we've needed their support most.
me too. And why wouldn't we have expected that?
I'll say this much: I can't believe that it's late June and the stock is trading at 5 cents. I've never been so wrong about anything in my life. I would have bet my life that the stock would be trading at 15 cents or way, way above. I also can't believe that this is the same management as in January through March, when they were doing and saying everything right. I've never been so wrong about anything in my life. That said, I hope for my sake and everyone else's here that I'm completely wrong about that statement, and that the opposite is true.
multiple streams of revenue are better than one. I understand Saul's and handmade's worries, however, that it could be a hint that things aren't going well with certified ELDs. That's why I wish that management would be clear about things--if everything is going well, tell us, for heaven's sake. Tell us!
That said, it's strange that no one has yet asked me how I know that MJLB is near the top of the certification queue. I wouldn't tell you--but you should have asked by now.
Something isn't right--for sure: the ELD mandate arrived and no ELDs were certified. That's why Transport Canada acted. It's not a secret. There's nothing that opaque about Transport Canada's motivation to get a second vendor. But why should that result in MJLB dipping into the 4s? If management announces something positive (finally), this stock could double in a heartbeat--before certification.
the truth is: Ultrack is near the top, if not at the top, of the queue. It will get certification sooner than later.
But all the more reason why something good is due--way overdue. As everyone here knows, I've been very critical of management for not putting out any positive press releases--for not informing the investment community about the terrific future of this company. This stock should never be in the 5-cent range. It shouldn't be under 10 cents. We just disagree about the odds of this situation. You think the future will resemble the past. I think we're going on another trajectory. As for certification being months away, that strikes me as wrong. MJLB is still on record with the claim that they will be selling certified ELDs by July. If that's incorrect information, they should update us with a new estimate.
you've got me mistaken for someone else on that bet. Go back and check yourself.
we've got an ad campaign brewing. How about PetsMart as a partner?
the party has been delayed (held hostage, in fact), but it will begin shortly. And when it does, lots of people are going to be wondering why they weren't buying here. Something is different about today...a sea change is underway. MJLB just needs to get the party started with a press release--and we haven't had one in almost two months now, so I expect it any minute.
I wouldn't be surprised if the next pr announced a partnership with a company in the pet business regarding a new pet tracker device--a pawtracker. Anyone who owns an outdoor cat, as I do, will want one of those (where does she go)! They'll sell like hotcakes.
MJLB will get certification within the next two weeks--it's near the top of FPI's queue. And, though I know it's hard to believe, one day soon FPI will certify ELDs. When this stock takes off, I wouldn't want to be chasing, which I know many of you think is no problem. With such a small float, MJLB is very difficult to buy or sell when the volume spikes into the 25-50 million range. It took me 2-3 minutes to sell it the last time it took off. I put in an order to sell at .21 and it filled roughly two minutes later at .235. Needless to say, I was pleased. But buying under those circumstances will be very difficult.
why should we be guessing? Do shareholders really deserve coy tweets at this point in time? after the past 4 months of frustration and more to come?
I can't believe that this is a 5 cent stock--just can't believe it. I can't believe that management is okay with this being a 5 cent stock. It's all unbelievable...like a nightmare that won't end.
I bet they're developing technology for pets to wear that will track them.
something unexpected is brewing?
