In addition to Zack Wylde being a guitar hero, the guy is built like a Norse god. Way long hair, lean, ripped, muscled, good looking.
Trust me, he has a female following. Probably a lot more than one.
But, tonight, for you, I'll keep count for as long as I can of the men / women thing. See if I can find a head and shoulders, or some v-shaped things ...
rr
O/T Hell, yeah, and every time I do, my wife whacks me.
So, I usually go to the bar alone, and the sweet young things smile at my old self and ... well, they're nice.
Best bartenders / heaviest hands are usually drop dead too.
AJ, if you stay away from the front where the large boys play in the pit, you might see some. I don't go there. I heal slowly, and spill my drink.
Hey, you might not have been serious ...
Well, OK. You're nuts.
Moves will be violent, and 5% swing days common, but I don't have any gut that tells me 'up'.
Paid guru #1 wants to sell out towards SPX 900 and buy back after 750.
Paid guru #2 is short.
AJ says up. Teaparty says down.
At least I understand the 1 and 5 minute charts I trade from.

Baseball is much more about statistical runs than about differential talent. You cannot buy luck, the residue of design and hard work, the seeing eye grounder, the bounce past the 2nd baseman on a hit and run, and all the rest.
All you can buy is talent, and there's all kinds of evidence that it screws up a player's head.
Throw some ego, bad management, a coupla dogs and a 6-pack into the mix, and the results aren't very predictable.
The Pirates have been good before. They will be again. Same with the Royal's and A's. Hell, even the Yankees.
That's baseball ...
Have a great weekend. Tonight, for me - Zack Wylde and BLS ...
rr
O/T Because the Twins have The Best AAA farm system in the USA.
Just sayin' ...

Trend? There's a trend? I watch a 1 minute chart, and if it wasn't for the scale blowing up big, I'd think the market was closed.
You never look bad, when you report what you see.
Otherwise, you'd be One of DA-BOYZ!!
He's contagious.

If MLB owners wanted to, they could syndicate out both the revenue and the debt. But, they don't want to.
People still go see the Harlem Globetrotters play, even though they always win. At least, in MLB, the big money teams have the decency to lose most of the time
TGIFF,

Sir NM,
In your da-Boyz expertise, how far below 830, and for how long, before it isn't held?
TIA, GLWT, TGIF, LOL, etc ...

Futures versus the index. Is there any difference besides the factor of 10x?

What, the G20 crap? "I met Obama" buttons and all?
Rather invade Canada. Good beer, OK hockey, better women ...
What news thingy is there supposed to be today? Mark to market? Welfare to Pimco? Detroit invades Windsor?

Will someone need medical treatment if this lasts more than 4 hours?
I think many of those unemployed people are buying and selling 3x funds ...
Perhaps both, but

NM's interesting, but right, A LOT. LOL.

OK, it's official: I've got more of your charts open than mine.
Just got another 'go short' on my 5 minute chart. The last half dozen or so of these haven't been anything except transaction fee takers ...
But, the longs are good!
rr
TP, I watch the RSI(2) and RSI(5) on the hourly.
Trading BGU/Z is like juggling cats. Got to pay close attention ...
rr
T,
Thanks for the SPX chart.
My working hypothesis is that this launch will fail, some hurdle, and fall huge. OEX 405, SPX down trend, November number ...
Then, lather, rinse, repeat.
But, back to my 1 minute charts ...
rr
Well, NM, reading your stuff does certainy make me think. Cut that out LOL.
If there's a plan to smoke shorts ... filtered, I hope ... why weren't you biased longer? Your buys / sells are at target, but pretty much balanced.
Unlike ... well, never mind.
Chugs, dude.

Speaking of bankrupt big time players ... from Bloomberg ...
Credit-default swaps on GM bonds rose for a second day on concerns the automaker would be forced into court protection.
... Anyone know who's holding the 'insurance side' and the 'pay me if it sinks side' of these CDS'?
My bets are on AIG and Pimco.
I used it without issue for about 3 months, about a year / year and a half ago.
Then, I got a home brew Windows Home Server, which I love, works great, does what I want, mostly all good.
I had issues getting the connector software to, well, connect, some of my machines to the server. I don't remember why, but OpenDNS was implicated. I made it go away, am all connected up.
It worked fine, I guess. Was hard for me to detect anything different with / without it.

I was a One Care customer. Had it on 3 machines in my house.
When machines 4 and 5 needed AV, I bought Norton's current stuff.
When my One Care subscription was coming up for renewal, Microsoft announced that One Care would end in June 2009.
So, I put Norton's current stuff on those 3 machines as well.
No more One Care for me. It worked when I had it, though. No complaints.

You wrote:
"It wasn't the largest auto maker IN THE WORLD for nothing. The bottom line, and everyone knows this, is UAW bankrupted the company. Yes, mgt agreed to those terms, but what would have happened if they had just shut things down?"
Management is responsible for dealing with the liabilities they make come into existence. That includes, not just the bondholders who will get hosed here, but the health and retirement benefits that were agreed to - you might even say, contracted.
The UAW negotiated for what they could get, too much though it may be. GM's management and BOD didn't fund it, even while they got paid for doing so well.
Both sides, and all other stakeholders, did bad things, but GM's management is responsible. Now, we'll all pay ...

zzm,
Rules, perhaps:
1) Decide if it's a bull or bear market for your vehicle and position. Bull, bear, or I dunno.
2) For the weekend:
- if you don't know, get out on Friday.
- if you're countertrading, get out on Friday.
- if you're trend following, stay in, and hope the Force is with you.
Tough world out there.
How's the new box holding up?

Hey, Gleno, I like seeing them too. Trapped here as a salaryman, I don't have access to all the charts I'd prefer.
You're performing a public service!
Just don't announce trades, because those seem to go against you

The noise from the speakers tells me that you get some kind of power surge that makes it thru your sound card / chipset circuits to the speakers.
What can discharge like that? Power capacitors ("caps").
My wild assed guess - bad caps on your motherboard. Some motherboards are famous for that problem, while others just die quietly. Perhaps some other power regulation circuits as well.
Best guess. YMMV ...

At this rate, that'll be at 803 in about 2 minutes ...
Eudora, per se, is no longer supported by Qualcomm. They 'gave away' the source code to Mozilla. When that happened, I switched to Thunderbird.
I haven't followed up on what Mozilla did wih the Eudora source.
We'd be curious to know, especially if we don't have to do the work ...
Thanks,

Companies exist to make money. If the cost inputs 'work' and cost less in China, they'll come from there.

More and more, I believe Microsoft is taking a harder line on 3rd party apps. Specifically, if there's a vulnerability, of a 'common' bug/crash cause, they'll warn you (3rd party app vendor) to fix your implication with it, and if you don't, MSFT will roll out the patch anyhow.
It's tough ruling an eco-system.
