AWK, ALEA....re:"Up to today Infineon has not been successful that their TSS can access all TPM hardware"
...and that for some reason. HARDWARE COMPETITION! Why should other TPM manufacturers allow IFX to make their TSS working with their TPMs, when they have NTRU and Wave as software suppliers.....
BR
ISPRO
Alea......in these two cases, you´re right. But consider, that Intel acts like a PC OEM (at least for Wave) since Intel ships their boards to small PC OEM and WhiteBoxers. And in this case Intel decides what to ship with the iTPM, since the small OEM or the WB decide NOTHING, they only want to get a board with all the "drivers".....
BR
ISPRO
AWK...."Up to today Wave's ETS is the sole client software that works with the NTRU TSS. And Intel has licensed the NTRU TSS for their iTPM"
Correct on NTRU/Wave, but perhaps the ITPM can run with an IFX TSS, like the BRCM chips. In the IFX PR they stated, that their client suite supports the iTPM, if I remember correctly....

RDS10.....NO, for now, until they announce something other. I highly doubt, that a TSS developer like NTRU will allow IFX to look in their cards. Same for other TPM manufacturers, since IFX is COMPETITION for them also!
BRCM worked on the IFX TSS during the 1.1b period, so to migrate their TSS to the BRCM TPM1.2 shouldn´t have been too difficult.
If you read gugis post, they talk about IFX, BRCM and Intel (I guess the ITPM)chips.
Well like Go-kite stated, finally the manufacturers and vendors (Identiphi) become aware of the huge opportunity which we all knew about years ago!LOL Hope this translates into revenues for Wave.
BR
ISPRO
Yup......IFX is aware of the market of the future and they HAVE TO BE!
They are losing more and more money and their quarterly revenues declined by 25%! not to speak from the SP...

February 27, 2008
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Launch, Los Angeles, California – February 27, 2008 – Infineon Technologies (FSE/NYSE: IFX), a leading supplier of integrated circuits and supporting software for secure computing and communications devices, today announced the Trusted Computing Management Server (TCMS) software suite for central management of Trusted Platform Modules (TPM)-equipped PCs in enterprise environments.
The TCMS software suite can be bundled with Infineon’s TPM Professional Package Software V3.5 for a complete hardware and software solution for enterprise professionals to safely protect their client data.
The Infineon TCMS software enables enterprise customers to easily deploy and manage TPM-equipped PCs, enabling a fully “trusted computing” experience for the user. Targeting medium and large companies, this software suite allows enterprises to take full advantage of TPM-based security on a heterogeneous PC infrastructure, which enables central management of Microsoft Windows®-based clients within the enterprise. The upgraded version of the TPM Professional Package software offers users the same user interface, despite the heterogeneous TPM hardware they may have on their PCs. Hardware can either be an Infineon TPM or a qualified 3rd party Trusted Computing Group (TCG)-compliant TPM.
“HP has been a leader in TPM adoption by providing the HP Embedded Client Solution as a standard feature across many of our business desktop and notebook PCs,” said Carolyn Bosco, Worldwide Security Marketing Manager for HP Business PCs. “The Infineon TCMS will now allow HP customers to seamlessly integrate and manage HP security solutions through their central IT management infrastructure.”
Microsoft is pleased to be working with Infineon to expand the offerings for Windows Server 2008 customers,” said Ward Ralston, Group Technical Product Manager for Windows Server Marketing at Microsoft Corp. “Our industry partners play an essential role in ensuring that our customers have the best technology foundation available and Infineon’s TCMS software suite helps deliver valuable new functionality to our joint customers.”
“Security continues to be a growing concern for professional PC users especially for notebook users,” said Josef Kohn, Product Manager of Infineon Technologies North America. “As a leader in security and with over 15 years of security expertise, Infineon understands the importance of data security from a hardware and software perspective. With the new Professional Package Software supporting TCG-compliant TPM hardware and the TCMS as the central management solution, this will allow corporate customers to efficiently deploy and manage TPM based security applications.”
According to a study of US market research company IDC, today more than 150 million notebooks and desktops are equipped with a Trusted Platform Module (TPM). IDC also anticipates the TPM market will increase to more than 250 million pieces shipped in the year 2010 alone. This equals an attach rate of more than 90 percent of all notebooks and desktops.
Sales Partners
Infineon will sell the TCMS software suite via sales and service partners in North America with plans to expand to Europe, Japan and other regions. If you are interested in being a sales or service partner, please visit www.infineon.com/tpm for more information.
Availability
The Infineon TCMS software suite will be shipped in Q2 2008. The suite is currently being tested and piloted by various customers.
Infineon is showing its Trusted Computing Management Server (TCMS) software suite for central management of TPM-equipped PCs in Booth #66 in the Partner Pavilion at the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Launch.
About TCG Specifications
The Trusted Computing Group (TCG), with more than 100 member companies, is a not-for-profit organization formed to develop, define, and promote open standards for hardware-enabled trusted computing and security technologies, including hardware building blocks and software interfaces, across multiple platforms, peripherals, and devices. TCG specifications will enable more secure computing environments without compromising functional integrity, privacy, or individual rights. The primary goal is to help users protect their information assets (data, passwords, keys, etc.) from compromise due to external software attack and physical theft.
The Group was formed as a successor to the Trusted Computing Platform Alliance (TCPA), which was founded in 1999 by Compaq, HP, IBM, Intel and Microsoft. TCG has adopted the specifications of TCPA and will both enhance these specifications and extend the specifications across multiple platforms such as servers, PDA's, and digital phones. Further information on Trusted Computing Group (TCG) is available at www.trustedcomputinggroup.org.

Micro...now I´ve read enough. Well, perhaps you´ll become a hero over there, for engaging this board, but don´t await a dialog with me anymore...EOS
Micro et all....I mentioned this several times before.
Secude is a SpinOf of SAP, their main business is to secure SAP environments. In the meantime they decided to market their products and to stand on their own feet. We all don´t know about the financials of Secude, but I guess without SAP Secude would have been gone for a long time.
http://www.secude.com/htm/355/en/Company_Information.htm
"It seems like everyone keeps telling me about all these other scenarios and I only brought up this becuase it explains why Secude does have both a product and a relationship with Seagate as do others AND they are selling it!"
If I had to guess, I would say Wave is selling STX FDE solutions right now in quantity, Secude is TRYING to catch the train....
BR
ISPRO
Micro...yes, that´s what I wanted to express. Of course I meant HW FDE, and beside this TPMs will become mainstream. Unlike Wave, Secude, Winmagic, Credant and other can USE the TPM, but they have no management capabilities. Secude still relies on smartcards to store keys. Sow while some sort of management software is necessary, there are still only 3 choices in the market. Wave, Infineon and Lenovo, but only one works with all TPMs!
BR
ISPRO
Micro......RE: "Does every notebook NEED (that is the key word) to have the HIGHEST level of security available?"
FDE will become mainstream. McAfee and Symantec software were exactly the same, years ago, what FDE is right now, and since then, EVERY machine is equipped with VirusScanners. EACH machine, notes and desks WILL have some kind of HW encryption in the not to distant future. The question remains, will Wave become a second McAfee or Symantec?
BR
ISPRO
Micro......there are different levels of access restriction. It´s sufficient to have access to the company network via VPN, even if you can´t access the ERP database or several sensitive data of the ERP. Since there is no more identification left except the OS login password, which can easily be reseted, you´ll have access to the network, thats my point. For most mid leveled hacker thats sufficient to cause sever damages.....
Nice discussion BTW
BR
ISPRO
Micro....think about something other. Most folks here assume that there has to be sensitve data on the machine. WRONG! Most laptops connect via VPN, Citrix, RemoteDesktop to company networks. Normally the user is dumb enough to store the passphrases in the windows OS. SO you can steal a CLEAN notebook with a free access to a fortune500 company....
BR
ISPRO
Ramsey, Alea....the most important thing for us shareholders is, that we have a company here which is able to increase their revenues exponentially with a nearby stable burn. This is only possible with a business model like the McAfee, Symantec model, where you buy a product, install it once and pay for your lifetime (in the best case).
Don´t get me wrong, but Wave is now in position where every dollar (except licensing) costs a dollar, since they need manpower to install and educate. Once the product is installed Wave has only to collect their annual maintenance fees for releasing some updates....This is the time when the EPS explodes!
Hopefully sooner than later....
BR
ISPRO
Ramsey......and this is the really sexy thing!(edit)
"Figure $50/seat for ERAS including annual maintenance."
The annual maintenance fee is the BEST money for Wave! No more efforts, no additional staff needed just free money from an existing customer base.....
(edit) A third of my total revenue per year comes from maintenance contracts...
BR
ISPRO
Dory, VH.....first the 20M figure means ETSL by Dell, GTW, Intel and doesn´t include the ESC chip bundles. Second IFX chips are on MOST Asian OEMs right now, what doesn´t mean, that the TPM suite is installed or delivered with the machine. In fact I had several IFX equipped machines in hand and NOT a SINGLE ONE had the software preinstalled! Most OEMS didn´t even ship a CD with the IFX TPM software.
So my guess is that IFX ships at least the same TPM quantity as the other TPM manufacturers combined, but their installed base of TPM management software is just about 10% of Waves figures.
BR
ISPRO
VH...and on BRCM chips, since the IFX TSS can be used with BRCM TPM as a result of their early collaboration re: TPM1.1b.
BR
ISPRO
CTS...thanx a lot!/eom
BR
ISPRO
DD....TPM management. As far as I know Wave is the ONLY company which could make the FDE work with TPMs. All other co use the hidden Linux partition on the FDE for key storage...

Wildman......re: "I acutally believe SKS on his range 30-60 range if he indeed put up those numbers at SRA"
If I remember correctly, it was an SRA conference where SKSs last sentence was like this: "make no mistake, we´ll BE this time next year (2ndQ2007) with business in hand".
I´ll believe it, if(when) I see it.
BR
ISPRO
Doma.....I know, Wave has hired impressing people, so I hope sales are going well. We have to get the proof next month with a reliable forward looking statement from SKS. Thats all I want....
BR and Thanx
ISPRO
Escrow....progress is made, for sure, you see it in the numbers. The question remains, IF this progress is fast enough to cover the (increasing) burn, to get us to BE. If not, we´re history. Please don´t take it as an advice, since I´m always wrong in investing LOL, but it´s the time to wait and see the numbers, with a possibility to get better numbers than expected. (for this first time in our history)
BR
ISPRO
Snackman...right on, the game has started or ended.
BR
ISPRO
Snackman.....you´re absolutely correct, but you know the price of developing a product like ETDM to function with FDE.2 can´t be ignored. Sure not everyone could bring us to Dell, Intel and Seagate, thats what I count to selling the idea, the future, the paradigm. But time has passed by and NOW we have to proof, that we can sell our software to enterprises, we have to proof, that we can stand on our own feet otherwise our great partners/customers could loose faith, like many of us.......
The sun is not always shining, IMO
BR
ISPRO
Escrow....right on on sales. There are two things Wave has for sale right now...
1. STOCK
2. PRODUCTS
Two totally different products, with a need for two different sales teams. I agree that SKS has been and probably IS a genius in SELLING an idea, a future prospect, a new paradigm.
On the other side the time for selling the future has passed by, since we now have products to sell!HUH??? What, we´ve products? On this I guess SKS has to hire a REAL sales force or push his sales team to sell our stuff! END OF STORY....
For those who interpret words: I´m still holding, but only with an amount, I can and probably will afford to loose.
