Correct, but that isn't what anyone was talking about. Try taking my remarks in context.
I agree totally!! Those are the only things that are going to get us moving in any kind of meaningful way. More data, patent, 'Tutes, it's nothing till these trials start.
MR MISSLING...START THE TRIALS.
I'm sure the data is available. And since it hasn't been shared, I assume it is good...especially since Missling continues to say that the trials are going good and some patients are improving. Otherwise he would be headed to jail.
I think we are at a very critical point. If things aren't done exactly perfect we could lose out on huge profits. There are many roads we could take to approval. They don't all pay the same. I think Missling is being very careful to try to do right for shareholders.
I really think tomorrow will be "a big yawn". That is ok though, if it means we do that much better in future days.
Patience Longs! One thing is for sure...we are getting closer to launch every day. It will come.
20/20 hindsight.
I really do hope I'm wrong...but I think I'm right.
I don't think there is much likelihood of a partnership having been settled since the Bloomberg interview this week.
And as Bourbon said, patent news will almost definitely not be discussed.
The only thing I'm wondering about is that the announcement about tomorrow's presentation said it will be streamed live and then archived on Anavex.com. Tomorrow morning there should be a PR in the premarket if there is anything coming. I'm not holding my breath though.
I have a feeling that is exactly what he is going to do. Can you say REHASH.
Just this week in the Bloomberg interview Missling as much as stated that they have not partnered with anyone yet. If there was some other groundshaking news coming tomorrow there would inevitably be some leakage of the news. If we don't see some kind of dramatic price action during the session today, or at least after hours, I'm afraid there is absolutely nothing new coming tomorrow.
Don't get me wrong...I'd love to see some fireworks. I wanted to see them months ago. But the way things have been proceeding, especially lately, has made me very skeptical.
Hopefully in totally wrong.
Zero chance of data tomorrow.
It's isn't a sure thing that there will be any mention of the patent.
Nothing of any real meaning has happened with the pps recently. It is complete noise and is meaningless day trading. If you are long NOTHING has happened recently. Hopefully some kind of meaningful news will break soon and then we will be talking! Wake me up when we pass $40.
Go Longs!!
Well... if something along those lines is coming soon, I'd look for a steep rise as Friday approaches due to the inevitable leaks.
Could it possibly be info regarding partnerships or funding? Or what about trials starting?
Although... the company said they were going to start something EARLY this year. That hasn't happened. One month remains (June) if they want to follow through in what they said. Otherwise it happened in the second half of the year. That is, if they even start it this year... which I firmly believe they will... although I firmly believed they would start at least one new trial/phase early this year and now I'm starting to doubt it will happen. Haven't given up hope yet though.
Second half of the year starts July 1st.
Forget that!! We go it alone at that point and AVXL is the gold standard BP.
Is it possible that they have submitted an abstract for AAIC or one of the other conferences and are now bound by the confidentiality agreement? Maybe they have to wait for the conference to release ph2 data/trial updates??
If so, that's not that long to wait for some big news. Not saying it will happen, but maybe a possibility??
Tute ownership can't be going up THAT quickly with this horribly low volume... hope it picks up soon!!
Go Longs!!
I think FDA should push this as hard as they can. They won't approve it for AD till there is good data coming from the 2/3. IMO there is no chance of that happening for about a year.
As Missling has stated several times, this will get approval for Rett first, assuming success in a Rett trial.
That would be best case scenario, I believe. We could see approval for Rett in as little as 6-9 months from now.
Big Pharma are not the cause for "delay". There isn't a delay. It just takes a certain amount of time. Patience!
It would definitely serve them right, but IMO that is not within the realms of possibility at this stage.
It is good news. But as far as the pps goes it doesn't mean anything. Patent PR (IMO) would be more of the same. Pps won't react significantly upward to that on its own.
NEED TO START NEW TRIALS. That's what will get us moving. Nothing else is going to get the pps moving up.
Fickle day-traders trying to make a quick buck. Few if any longs are selling. No volume, so place no meaning on it.
Only thing that will make this stock move in a meaningful way is news. Need to get trials going. Till then get ready for absolutely nothing.
The publication date says 4/28/16. Is this just coming out now?
I don't believe so. I think it's more of a genetic problem that causes dysfunction in certain areas of the brain. It's way beyond me...but it sounds like a very pivotal portion of the X chromosome (MeCP2) doesn't work correctly and it has a far-reaching effect, causing problems with many brain functions.
I got this off of wiki:
"Locus coeruleus cells are not dying, but are more likely losing their fully mature phenotype, since no apoptotic neurons in the pons were detected.
Researchers have concluded that "Because these neurons are a pivotal source of norepinephrine throughout the brainstem and forebrain and are involved in the regulation of diverse functions disrupted in Rett syndrome, such as respiration and cognition, we hypothesize that the locus coeruleus is a critical site at which loss of MECP2 results in CNS dysfunction." The restoration of normal locus coeruleus function may therefore be of potential therapeutic value in the treatment of Rett syndrome."
I believe that Infantile Spasms is a form of epilepsy though...
Interesting that anavex is in the section entitled "Clinical" instead of the section just before entitled "Pre-Clinical". Makes it look like they intend to be in clinical trials for epilepsy before May 19th.
That is how it has always looked. That is their flagship compound/indication at this point in time, thus the emphasis.
Continued releases of info on the 2a trial are not important. Continued good news is not going to help the pps. We need the next phase to start for that to happen. 2a completed already and the final results were astonishingly good. Now the trial has been extended beyond its originally intended length.
Actually, I believe that if they had the results already and they were bad, they would be obligated to share the results. The fact that they have decided not to update implies good results.
Any more data from the 2a is nice for making the case for approval earlier rather than later. Again, that would only matter once we are in ph 2/3.
Next few days are going to be great for Longs. 8k coming very soon.
And maybe, just maybe, announcement about Rett trial starting???? Wouldn't that just be sweet!!
Well...Don't take this the wrong way. I'm not trying to slight the very informed members of this board. I appreciate the great information discussed here. Many here are very intelligent and well-informed.
BUT...I've never sat down with Missling in a meeting to discuss company business. I doubt anyone here has.
If you take into account the actions of those who are more closely involved, and know much, much more than anyone here as a result...it becomes clear that there is nothing to worry about with management or the science.
That doesn't mean it's a lock. It could still fail in trials. At this early point it sounds very promising though.
What the heck are you talking about!?!?
I'm not even talking about you. And I'm not saying I have "insider information".
If you'd re-read my post, you will see that my point is that the actions and decisions of entities/people much closer and more well-informed than anyone here, speak volumes about the trustworthiness of the company and the science.
I look at who is closer to the information and AVXL representatives, and who has a better understanding of the significance of the data collected thus far. How are they reacting to supposed delays and other FUD being spread around?
That means... MJF Foundation, BIIB, Rett.org.
EVERY indication from all of these players has been positive. They are putting their reputations and money on the line by continuing to associate themselves with AVXL.
If anyone on this board has better information, more understanding of the science, and has associated closer with AVXL's officers, please enlighten us all to the problems you see.
Otherwise, what you profess to know is meaningless in my eyes. I look at those who actually have good information and not just wild speculation.
This "sell off" is making my head spin!! Why, oh why, didn't I employ a stop-loss?!?!

Roundtable 4: Partnerships- successful collaboration between a rare disease foundation and a pharmaceutical company to advance preclinical and clinical research in Rett Syndrome
Christopher Missling, President and Chief Executive Officer, Anavex Life Sciences
STAY TUNED LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!
Sounds like voting results are going to be "yea's" all around.
That puts the funding question to rest permanently.
Also clears the way to make rapid progress now, without much fear of being too successful and drawing the attention of a hostile investor.
I'd anticipate at least three trials starting in the next 3 months. Might even see a 4th along the AD prophalactic hypothesis.
Looking AWESOME!!
Oh... just saw Bourbons post. I guess we will all remain as mushrooms till 8k...
So in the meantime, investors who attended the meeting will have the inside track? Doesn't sound right...
So.... are we EVER going to hear how the meeting went this morning????!
Anyone know if we will be able to hear the meeting live?
Anyone know if the shareholders meeting/vote going to be streamed live?? Is there a link??
Hey AF, et al...
Those darn institutional/professional/stable long investors sure are a pesky bunch, aren't they!
Getting closer every day to liftoff. Should be very interesting once 2/3 starts.
