shorted GERN near $9 ...strictly speaking this stock is fundamentally --->overvalued ?
think profitaking will kick in here today ...
Have you checked GERN pre-market this AM?
Could be nervous hedge fund managers. they are supposed to be playing more of a safe game these days.
It's AG buying more. That old fart has lots of bucks. (g)
there is news on CRIS
GERN
year highs
2000 75.88
2001 20.75
2002 10.49
So is 10 a possibility?
CRIS ramping up also this AM
MH,
I would normally be very tempted here to take profits but having watched oxgn yesterday I hestitate. I had oxgn in my sights last week and passed on it.
I also sold imcle way too soon. Hope GERN has legs cause it looks like someone likes it. Maybe the shorts are helping us too.(g)
Now at 9.80 so looks like $10 pre-market could happen.
Hanging on for a wild ride. I hope there are some others here who will benefit .

MH,
Didn't Zeev say ASTM had a floorless converible?
Wow!!! just checked pre-market gern at $8.35.
I'm loaded on this one and will now have to figure out how far it's going. I think 9-10 easily today but after that??? What do you think?
To Da Moon
In edit GERN exploding now at $9
ML,
The first and last of my gold stocks was Bre-X. The crooks got me once but never again.
eom
I want Hillary's book real bad but I'm waiting to get it at a garage sale for 25 cents or maybe a dime. It's worth it.
Well Quack Quack I gotta root for the Ducks too. Actually I'm a Flyers Fan and the Devils are the their arch enemy.
Joe,
Hlsh is a messy one. Is that an overnighter or due you just daytrade it. Looks to me like it is a real gamblers bet. I'll watch it though cause it may produce lunch money at least.
Good Luck
LOL
Finn likes those "high" flyers.
MH,
GERN exploding. Glad I bought 2000 more last week at $5.81.
Presently at $6.84 it could challenge $7 today at this rate.
Well since ur streamer is down you are missing a run by GERN.
BRiefing just mentioned an upgrade with a $9 target by a firm so it's pumped this AM
MH,
And the speeders on the highways of course. The cops only catch a pittance of them . It's called selective enforcement and Martha was driving a big fancy car.
Bear,
Maybe so but I for one wouldn't lie to invetigators. Maybe that's the difference between us.
Bear,
In your list of crooks where do you place Martha? (g)
Looks like GERN could challenge 7.40 today. Thru that and it's a wild ride IMHO
MH,
GERN powering up pre-market. Also Avan up strongly on island.
I still think something came out in the conference to move GERN this strongly. Hoping for some upgrades but regardless this biotech group is red hot.
To Da Moon
Fred,
Martha is in trouble because she tried to stonewall what she did. Too many other people involved so the truth came out after all. Had she owned up to it she most likely wouldn't be in the mess she is in. The reason she didn't tell the truth perhaps goes back to Martha's personality. Do you really believe she bought all that expensive dinnerware at garage sales? LOL
MH,
Avan should pop on AH news .
Nice rally but VIX went UP again today.
Fear is rising, a gentle whiff of worry, settling in among the nervous ones in the bull herd. Then CRACK, a bolt of lightening, then the stampede!
Could be......the only question is what it will be....
LOL you are funny but consider this. A settlement in the Palestinian/Israeli situation. The hope of peace there actually looking like reality. Would that have an effect on the markets? In the meantime I am enjoying these short squeezes immensely.
To Da Moon
mh,
GERN just printed 6.50 on island. might have to trade this AH
In edit going higher now 6.70
wish I knew what was going on at the conference
hope your right but it could be big AH and I will have to watch it.
MH,
Guess this GERN move relates to the presentation at the Needham biotech conference at 4 PM today. Could move it AH I hope.
I have 2000 shrs of it but wanted more.
Gern is moving right now. new HOD
anything up just came in from mowing. Damn I can't leave this puter for a minute.
Mainehiker,
Agreed on Cris, and flipped it for a quick grand profit.
The news popped it and it will probably trade down again to be available for repurchase. I just keep it on the screen.
eom
CRIS breaking out. eom
Oh no you mean you don't like Maria? and of course access to her ah ah ah fabulous sources?
LOL
Mainehiker,
No doubt that aria will pop some this AM, but I doubt it will hold on to much of the pop.
First of all the their research relates to the wet type of macular generation which is already treatable by several means including one approved already in Novartis' visudyne. Since only about 10% of those 15 million afflicted with macular degeneration have the wet version the numbers are much smaller than those afflicted of course with the dry version. Also GENR has a similar study going with the National Cancer Institute on anti angiogenic aminosterol compounds which sounds similar to what Aria is announcing this AM.
So what does this mean? I would say it makes aria a good candidate for scalping but I think the interest will quickly fade. I do see that there seems to be an opportunity for quick money in the biotechs almost daily. Having said that I agree that there will be some homeruns in the biotechs and gern may still be one of those. BWDIK

Dear Michael,
Due to your arrogant smartass reply you hardly need my help or anyone else's for that matter. So I hope you enjoy floundering around in this bull market.
Michael,
I have looked at some of you recent posts and you appear completely lost. You listened to the bears here and followed their negative posts blindly. You have obviously missed this wonderful move upwards. Too many gurus here and the majority of them are bears. You are probably not the only one here who has followed the dark side losing quietly waiting for the market declines to come. There will be a correction for sure sometime but in the meantime bulls are winning the battle. Good Luck.
Jerry,
Glad I've been long for some time now. Just missed the last two days of market action being away but I faired better by not touching my positions and scalping like I usually do.
Being in the western part of Pennsylvania would force me to get satellite radio for sure. XMSR has a brilliant future IMHO.

It's getting harder and harder to say that stocks aren't in a bull market.
June 2, 2003: 6:07 PM EDT
By Justin Lahart, CNN/Money Senior Writer
NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - With the market resplendent, with all the major indexes up by over 20 percent from their October lows, maybe it's time to think the rally in stocks isn't just a little rebound in the context of a long decline.
Maybe it's time to start saying that something new is happening.
"Some people have been reluctant to call this a bull market, because it's nothing like the 1990s," said Miller Tabak chief technical analyst Philip Roth. "But it is a bull market -- it's just nothing like the 1990s."
Monday, the Dow Jones industrial average briefly touched 9,000, a level it hasn't seen since last August, and the S&P 500 moved to its best close since July. The Nasdaq fell 5.16 to 1,590.75, but unless it falls mightily it will finish the day Tuesday above its June 3 close of 1,562.56, putting it into the green for the past year.
Much as it led the way down, the Nasdaq has also been by far the best performing index on the way back up, tacking on 43 percent from its October low point. That the index has performed so well even as many Wall Streeters continue to lay crepe on tech is a sign that the market may be able to keep moving, thinks Raymond James market analyst Ralph Bloch.
"One of the ways you can tell when a trend is healthy is when tech stocks are leading," he said. "And when within tech, the semiconductor stocks are leading, you can basically dive into the pool without checking to see if there's water."
The Philadelphia Stock Exchanges semiconductor index is up nearly 75 percent from its October low.
The Nasdaq's bounceback, in particular, shows that the market has finally worked through many of the worries of the past year and signals a renewal of confidence.
"The psychology that led to the decline has been digested," said John Bollinger, head of Bollinger Capital.
Wow!!! a renewal of confidence is what this board needs also.
Plexxus,
You don't know George. He has been a bear from before Ihub was born. He's a gold bug and what worries me about guys like him is they relish world turmoil and disaster. I hope George isn't quite that bad but he is absolutely a bear. Go over to SI and check his old posts. Go back to 9/11 and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Lots of folks very confident that this dip will not amount to much and should be aggressively bought. That in itself is troubling.
Why does that trouble you? You're a bear and a gold bug so enjoy.
I like XMSR because Willie Nelson is cheerleading now.
Xmsr has a significant lead on Siri with subscribers so the race is kind of one sided but siri was good to me in the past so I can't complain.

I'm sure Greenspan is smart enough to know this will end very badly. But he may be able to postpone the collapse until after the election. He must have made a promise like that to the Bushies when they nominated him to another term.
George, I think you and others give AG much too much credit but to say he promised Bushies anything is really funny. Thanks for the humor because you can't really believe that can you?
