No they are not. You cannot imagine how hard it is to really figure this stuff out. Susie, I held misconceptions for years!!! About where flavors originated. It's hard. It takes years and years to really understand. But it's fun!
I am getting drunk!
Hey, where's Chu? Has he been ignoring me?
Well, the wine is supposed to be rather simple and small. It's the style. Fruity, fresh, grapes harvested, fermented, and wine bottled and on the shelves in a few months.
As this breathes it's really smoothing out. Hmmmm. I do like this wine. Particularly because it has a small set of balls.
I've only had a few and just not like them much usually. This is a really lovely one.
I am not certain they use oak barrels for nouveau. That's the problem. If they do at all they're old and don't impart much flavor. On the back of my tongue I could swear I get a hint of sapiness. I wonder where else that might come from. ARGGGG.
I need this myself, to force myself to separate flavors. There are some spices that can come from the seeds and the skin but they don't crush that stuff with this wine. They treat the fruit very delicately and let the juice ferment in the skins.
Ha!
Okay, slurp it and let it sit in your mouth and breath into it. Of course your husband is going to wonder what kind of kinky thing is going on but do it anyway! As you breathe out with your mouth closed so the vapors circulate in your mouth try to identify anything - ANYTHING.
I chose this wine because it's a great bridge to more intense wines. It's fruity enough so that anyone can sort of identify with it.
I'm tipsy. Can't proof this!
I'm not sure that's what it is. I'm trying, too. There is something in this wine I can't figure out. I'm thinking it's a kind of acidity I'm unaccustomed to and the freshness of the fruit or something.
They throw whole clusters in the vats so there's a whole different fermenting process I'm not really used to. I'm working it.
Going to take a quiet moment and slurp!
Wifey should know. She's the wine drinker, right?
Mine's very fresh fruity. I just insulted my friend the wine maker by telling him our wine (our first vintage) has many of the same characteristics and it really SHOULD NOT. Oh well.
I get a bit of cherry, raspberry and licorice from mine so far. Something is in here I can't identify and my friend who is supposed to know everything was of no help whatsover.
