Budd - I agree in principle with what you are saying, and since I've owned shares for over a year, I'm down big time as are many others who have held on. However, my investment decision wasn't based on Dean alone, but rather those who he surrounded himself with. Dean has made some mistakes. As they say, hindsight is 20/20, however Dean should have focused on multiple sources of financing right off the bat, but got strung along by the Clayton group and was too slow to react when red flags appeared and the Clayton Group missed funding commitment deadlines. However I do not agree that this is a joke of an investment. There are some really talented guys in Quasar's management circle and I'm still cautiously optimistic they will pull us through.
Makamai
I haven't, but it would seem you have...
Makamai
Cat - I totally agree - Dean strength is in his vision - that of putting together a synergistic and efficient conglomerate that can compete in today's market more effectively than the individual companies in its makeup are able to do. He also sees the potential of bringing new technology to the forefront. I personally think that the pressure of financing delays coupled with some mistakes he made personally in that regard have taken their toll. This is the perfect time for new energetic management to take over the helm and lead us to fruition. Fortunately he has surrounded himself with very competent people that can make his dream and that of his shareholders become a reality..I'm confident we'll make it to the finish line.
Makamai
A BIG AMEN to that Scotch - Best post of the day!! There has been far too much private stuff that should have been kept private posted on these public boards. There is a time and a place for everything, and folks need to respect that far more than they do.
Makamai
Your right, but like a fine wine, the audited financials will come in due time....
Makamai
Thanks for your tireless efforts on shareholders behalf.
Makamai
Don't sell yourself short homey_g - when we get funding (and I firmly believe we will), all previous estimates that Banker and others were predicting will come true - as nothing has changed from a technical perspective with regards to the company's potential revenue and now CET has joined the conglomerate which IMO and others, is icing on the cake...
Makamai
With all the blood, sweat and tears we've gone through, the longs deserve at least a buck or better for our persistence..
Makamai
I totally agree - without your finger on the pulse of the company, especially any OTC company, your just asking for trouble if you rely strictly on charts.
Makamai
Your right - everyone was more interested in ranting and raving in vent mode this morning than looking at the trading patterns...and where was I...sleeping as it's 3:30 AM in Hawaii when the market opens and I needed to make up some sleep from the day before (lol).
Makamai
Hey Taki - there is finally some POWER in this power hour - could some possible news be suddenly driving it??
Makamai
That's fine - but getting Lisa back on the BOD is a different issue. Dean's replacement is onboard and believe me, he can't wait till he takes over - if nothing else the Aug 17 NR should clearly indicate to all that is his foremost desire by the way it was worded - albeit a little premature...
Makamai
I agree 100% Dom - we may want Dean to step down, but who would you want to step into his place. His intended replacement is onboard in the form of Jeff Landreth who has an impeccable record, and where could you find a more qualified CFO that Gene. Come on folks, take a chill pill - especially you JR. Think about it - although they may be on a consultant agreement, they are in place to accept their new positions once funding has been achieved. They are giving Dean the help he needs - they just need to take on one more duty - that of writing his NRs.
Give Team Quasar a chance to get the job done. I'm confident they can do it!!
Makamai
Seems like every other NR is some sort of clarification. Now that the status of our management consultants has been "clarified", lets hope that the next NR provides news of a positive nature.
I would tend to agree that their could easily be some sort of problem with trying to run two companies separately without resigning from one to begin working for the other. I'm sure its no power grab as Dean definitely doesn't want to remain as CEO - he just wants to get things off the ground then retire to the background. So far that's been his biggest challenge.
Makamai
That wasn't a form T - just a slightly late trade at .0048 and .005
Makamai
Sorry to disappoint you, but completing the audits is one thing, publishing the results is another. Quasar has no time requirement as a non reporting pinkie to publish audit results. I would doubt that any results beyond last years annual audit will be published until the acquisitions have been announced, however that doesn't mean that lenders won't be privy to them in advance.
Makamai
JR - it doesn't take a whole lot of intelligence to see what is going on here. Dean's initial plan, based on one of his CC's, was to announce the new CEO July 1st, based on receipt of funds orchestrated by Newby and completion of the first 5 or so acquisitions. That didn't happen. So Dean finally decided not to put all his trust in a single lending source and he began beating the bushes to shake out as many possible sources of funds as possible. According to IR, he is working with at least 5 different sources, 2 of which are major banks.
Now put yourself in the lenders shoes for a moment. If you were going to lend millions of dollars to a start up, wouldn't you want more than just a paper commitment that credible management would be put in place prior to lending the company that kind of money, rather that gambling that it would happen afterwards? Certainly with the credentials that Gene and Jeff bring to the table, as a lender or investment group, it would be a much easier sell job to your lending committee and/or investment group with them committed and onboard first. Look at the flip side as well. Would Gene and Jeff put their futures in the hands of a company that wasn't going anywhere and had no funding sources ready, willing and able to fund Quasar's acquisitions in the very near future? Do the math folks, it's not that hard!!
Makamai
Cat - what a difference a day makes Nice to see an NR that didn't result in a drop in SP and folks a little more positive on their investment. IMO, this is just a warm up of some really great things to come. I can just imagine how relieved Dean must be to have some very talented assistance finally able take over the helm, allowing him to do what he does best, and that's putting things together.
Makamai
Yep - never a dull moment in Quasarville that's for sure
Makamai
Nice close - up 68% - however high volume IMO is simply the result of a low SP but a nice solid GREEN day is a pleasant relief.
Makamai
Bernie - its like JR keeps saying, its risk vs reward and knowing what you own by staying on top of your DD. There are few plays out there that have as big a potential pay day as QASP. Especially at these present levels. All dependant upon whether you believe that Dean will be successful in obtaining financing to move things forward. I'm still cautiously optimistic and I've been hanging around for over a year. Looking forward to those long term capital gains however long this takes...and my DD says it won't be that much longer.
Makamai
Banker - Folks have gotten all over Dean's case about publishing dates that he has obtained from his lending sources which so far haven't panned out. They've called him every name in the books. So this is what happens when an NR regarding funding status is issued that doesn't give any time line. You can't have your cake and eat it too...either you accept dates that Dean provides in good faith, or not complain when he issues an NR without them. I'd personally prefer the former as at least you would have some general idea regarding Dean's expetations where his lending sources are concerned. Based on yesterday's NR, you don't know whether Dean anticipates funding by the end of the month, or the end of the year. I hope the complainers have learned a good lesson, but somehow I doubt it...
Makamai
The answer to your PM is yes.
Makamai
Woody - What I think happened today was the way Dean worded the NR. To me, he made it sound like we were starting all over from scratch on the funding once again, however my DD says otherwise. So we wait until the market has sorted it out. Although no one is happy with the present SP, I'm confident that Deans persistence will pay off. IMHO, I think this old dog still has a few tricks up his sleeve to pull the rabbit out of the hat...and it will catch everyone by surprise...
Makamai
Aloha Wooden..well I'll certainly admit I'm not happy with the SP at the moment, however it does seem that the conglomerate is slowly growing albeit at a snails pace at the moment. We certainly are due for a bounce soon. GLTU

Makamai
Surf - it says at the bottom of the webpage that it is from 2006.

From my previous DD, when Solaroli left INNX, he took his patents with him as they were never able to come to a meeting of the minds. Now QASP has the opportunity to take this technology to market and that could be a really big source of income for Quasar.
Makamai
And your point is???? It's a fact that they all support Mineseeker and the goal of ridding the planet of land mines. Nothing else matters...
Makamai
Nice to finally get some news of encouragement...maybe there will soon be some point in posting here again once everyone is in a better mood...It's great when a good plan finally begins to come together and Dean certainly should be congratulated for his persistence in the face of adversity. I like his attitude - if at first you don't suceed, keep trying until you do...Giving up is not in his vocabulary..looking forward to next week.
Makamai
iKauai - I agree it's good to be prepared for which ever way the stock goes. In my case, as of this month, I now have shares I've owned for over 1 year so it's long term gains from here on out for any shares I might sell. I obviously haven't reacted to the SP as you have and if trading the stock is what makes you happy, and works best for you - go for it. However, keep in mind that anyone who is overly bullish or bearish should expect to receive some flack now and then, so you shouldn't be surprised by it.
Makamai
iKauai - if you are waiting for an increase in the A/S to buy cheaper shares, I think you are going to be disappointed...
Makamai
OK JR. I know we both want what's best for Quasar, and we wouldn't be here if we didn't trust managements ability to get the job done. I suspect Dean will begin to unveil what he has in store for the conglomerate this week, based on Friday's NR. I agree that the summer market is typically rather dead where big board stocks are concerned, however it has been my experience that those who invest in BB stocks aren't that seasonally focused. Also as the SP climbs it interests a wider variety of investors and investment groups. I do hope, however, that Quasar is able to get the SP up to a respectable level well over a buck to minimize any R/S that might be required for an up listing within the next 3 months. I would like to steer Dean towards the NYSE, which doesn't have minimum SP requirements, but that will sort itself out in time I'm sure. When you say "the real money will be made this fall", I would certainly agree, especially if we begin trading this fall on a higher exchange. IMO we have lots to be looking forward to.
Makamai
Exactly Surfguy - after all Dean is the CEO and this is his baby to give birth to, and I fully expect some of the acquisitions he will be announcing will totally blow us away!! The next couple weeks and beyond should be a real bear killer....YOU DA MAN DEAN Ram the torpeados - full speed ahead
Makamai
I respectfully disagree Jr that Newby owes "us shareholders" anything. He certainly owes the company answers IF he is still involved with providing funding for Quasar, and QUASAR owes "us shareholders" with answers regarding funding, however since when do shareholders get in the middle of a lending process?? Granted Newby joined Dean during a CC, but that was for assistance in explaining the loan process (which by the way he then took upon himself to modify which totally screwed it up). IMO shareholders and non shareholders have meddled with company business which has harmed the company, thus harming shareholders. We need to leave company business to those who are responsible to get it done. Dean has some very talented people on his team, which are more than capable of taking care of business.
Makamai
JR - What makes you think Newby is still involved with the process. He had his chance and blew it by trying to combine the 10M and 100M loans together and cost Dean a lot of credibility. If I were Dean, I would have kicked him to the curb by now and gone directly to his source.
Makamai
Surf - I read it the same way. Funding must be essentially be a done deal, or he wouldn't have any need for a name change or an AGM.
Makamai
Cat - absolutely! These are 4 additional acquisitions the way I read the NR, or Dean would have added further clarification. Thus, we should be seeing about 10 acquisitions by the end of the 1st week of August IMO.
Makamai
Woody - JMHO, but I would hold onto those shares for another week before flipping to wait and see if Dean's CC comment that "funding is imminent" has any validity. That's the amount of time I think that statement is worth...
Makamai
Kuleana - your guru's prediction could easily apply to Quasar's funding situation.."Then suddenly, just when you've decided
it is never going to happen, several come along at once." Is that simply pure coincidence or ??
Makamai
