#5 on the Breakout Boards.
Only 1 single solitary MM (ETRF) showing on level II.
All that interest & only 1 MM ?????????
Wassup with that ?
Interesting. So where does an average schmuckinski like me go to
buy shares besides retail ?
Aside, is there a site that shows which MM has done the actual selling & which has done the actual buying? iHub (trades) just shows
the buys & sells with no names. I stumbled over such a site once but
damned if I can find it now. Thanks.
Where are the shares coming from? Level 2 showed a total of two (2)
MM's with a total of 7100 shares to sell (3 minutes ago ).
Dunno about that Amigo. Google Tim Sykes. Shorting is his venue
of choice & it's made him & some his cohorts very wealthy people.
To each his own tho.
Every day, I receive an Email from StockPromoters.com.
Why?.... I have no idea. I must have clicked on something one day.
Anyhoo, the page is called "End of day summary"
Below the stock name is a list of promotors & compensation paid.
My newbie question is---- What is this info good for & how do I
use it ?
Board marks ????? Sorry dunno what that means either.
Do you mean when somebody posts... that is a board mark ?
Please bear with us newbies. Pain in the a** I know.
What is a BM please? No .10/.15/.20 insanity. Are you asking folks
not to place huge buy orders which would drive the price up ?
My very very limited experience in this game has led me to believe you want the price to go up thus my asking.
Lask, Googled ph # 587-329-1459.
Comes up:
County Line Energy Corp
Harry Bygdnes, Pres & CEO
Suite 234, 2 Toronto St.
Toronto, Ont.
Google mapped it too, to make sure there even is a 2 Toronto St.
There are about 30 businesses located at 2 Toronto.
Little short 1 block street, located 2 streets over from Yonge.
So, legit I'm callin'.
How can you tell that an email promo is illegal ?
Even if it is, can you not watch the stock & see what's happening ?
PE is 147.37 Comparisons as at 31 Oct were eBay at 23.89, Visa at
23.4 and Home Depot 21.69. If you're interested, the ROI is
$0.0068 per FB share or $6.80 on 1000 shares that will set you back $28,000.00 to purchase. IMO, your 400 share purchase S/B gold with
the way things have been going. Gonna be interesting to look back
a year from now and see what transpired. Grizzly old vets were
saying pre-lockup release that they had never seen a set up so
perfect for a major downward spiral. So much for experience eh ?
Good luck Mr. Man & make sure you lock in your profits. Love it when things are going great for a fella player. One thing that ticks me off is when a poster (loser) berates/laughs at the other guy for making a bad investment decision. Those guys S/B banned right now from further posting. We're all here just trying to make a buck or two.........right ?
Amen, take your profits & run while they're still there.
Lost my shirt on my last 2 ventures waiting for higher prices.
Hindsight ---- shudda sold when I was up over 100% on both !!!!
Buffett or one of those famous investors once remarked :
" I got to be a very, very rich man by selling too soon "
Why is that the vast majority of stocks promoted/pumped trade on the
OTCQB? Some are from the pinks as well. I have yet to see a stock
from the NYSE or Nasdaq 2nd party hyped/promoted. Is it because the
SEC reporting requirements are not as stringent as the big boards require and therefore easier to lie about or what ?
Question for you old pros. Could a guy with very deep pockets come
in and short this thing & upset the applecart ? Shades of SNPK when
the MM came in and shorted 1.2 mill shares I believe, at $0.06 under
the bid. Or Geo Soros when he shorted the British pound & made a fortune. Or the guys who shorted Lehman, HBOS & Morgan Stanley.
Dirty trick I know but monster bucks for the guy who does it first.
Have no idea how many shares you bought. But, share price
appreciated by .2459 (out) minus .187 (in) = .0589 per share.
A thousand bucks would have bought you 1000/.187 = 5347.59 shares.
That works out to a profit of .0589 x 5347.59 = $314.97 for
every grand you expended. So, 3G gets you 3 X 314.97 = $944.81 or
$900.00 for every 3G committed less commish. $900.00 was ballpark.
Agree with my math or no ?
Way to go bro. In & out in less than an hour & pick up a cool
$900.00 on a 3G bet in less than an hour. Pump & dumpers beware,
there is a player out there........... hats off !!!!!!!
Cool. Now buy another 8,394 shares that sold for $24.45 for a
saw-off. Trades were #'s 24437 & 38 last Weds for confirmation.
Fact.. last 5 minutes of after hours action on Wednesday showed 16 trades of which 24,260 were sells vs 1500 buys or a ratio of 16.17
sells for every 1 buy..... omen maybe ? Ex-employees & present
employees finally coming out of the woodwork ? Hit that sell button
quick boys & girls & bail before FB goes down to $13.00 !!!!!
Amen,Brother. All us shorters & put buyers need old Geo right now
with his $15.96 billion dollar (10 bill British £'s) shorting power.
Our bacon would be saved. Man, just lovin' all the comments on this
FB saga !!!!!
Block trades. Could it be possible that the billion (?) shares in the float are being disposed of (sold) via the 'block trade' route ?
If so, the sales are executed apart and away from the outcry of the
electronic market. Block trades, if I'm reading correctly, are
carried out to lessen the impact of such a large trade hitting the
tape. Bottom line, the billion (?) shares in the float are a non-
entity in whether FB shares go up, down or sideways. If you are not
familiar with the term 'block trade', Google it to see if you read
it the same way I do.
Sir, have I got this right ? I'm eyeballing FaceBook to see if my grand daughter's first tooth has arrived. I see an ad & click on it then make a purchase. The vendor then records that I made the purchase thru the FaceBook ad. Total up the sales & pay Facebook a hefty advertising fee ? If so with FB's gajillion 'friends' WOW !!
Zuck's prob is getting these ads on the tiny mobile screens. Right?
Oh sorry. My point is that people are creatures of emotion.
They could care less if a company has good fundamentals or not.
Many bet with their hearts and what their barber says he's buying.
Hope this clarifies & I did not think you were rude in the least.
All the best.
Be that as it may. Money is money. If I was a FB employee do you think I would give a rat's a** about the guy in the next cubicle ?
He does not feed my family, I do. I would be banking/selling right
NOW and heading for the back 40. I read what a Guru said earlier
"When you are handed a gold bar, you don't ask what it weighs,
you take it & run". Another gem. Venture capitalist's mantra
"Waiting for higher prices is a sucker's game " or something like that.
Wait until the first guy panics. Open the floodgates. Happens all the time. Look at SNPK. Everybody was laughing until AABA put in his
$2.28 sell order. Stock was down almost 50% in 14 minutes.
Karin, take a boo at PokerVertigo's post 15906 of 14 Nov. He or she says the 14 Nov unlocked shares, due to FB's accounting procedures, are not eligible for trading until Monday 19 Nov. He/she must be a buddy of a Facebook accountant who would know these things. I've looked too & can find nothing official as to whether this is true or not.
Maybe give FaceBook a call and ask them. They will either confirm or give you the 'no comment' routine. Take care.
Trying to get a handle on bid/ask prices. Who sets them, the computer, or Nasdaq (Nasdaq stocks) or the market makers.. who ?
I understand if you want to buy, you use the ask price. If you want to sell, you use the bid price. Say a sale goes thru at $10.00
or the ask price, do they then raise the ask to $10.05 in hopes somebody will play this newer higher price? In a nutshell, what are
the mechanics for prices to keep changing ? How does it work ???
Why does my "Trades" screen keep locking up ?
I can get it going again by refreshing......... pain in the a**.
The 2 little red dots next to the ? Vol column keep flashing back & forth which would indicate program is running.. but it's not.
Level 2 screen trades just keeps on chugging away, never a blip !!
Wow. Hats off to you bro. Rest of the WORLD predicted down, but you said no UP !!!!! Can you tell us what you used for or how you arrived at your analysis ? Amazing to say the least !!!!
Had to leave the house this morning at 11:00 AM. Stock was at $18.97
Just got back home at 2:25 PM & stock is now $19.93 !!!!!!!!!!
What in the world would make it jump like that what with the big
dump coming on the 14 th ?
Geekdude: On Nov 2 you stated "I don't see why this is going up ?"
Today (only 10 days later) you're saying $25.00 ???? by Weds.
Porquoi the change of heart ? Rationale being ? Newbie question.
OK, that answers the first part of my question. So, then, what DOES cause the prices of the B/A to rise & fall? Retail buying & selling?
For example, heavy duty action on the bid.... MM sees the big demand & jacks the ask or what ?
Trade No. 120423 on Friday, Nov 9 @ 17:15:04 went across the board as a sell order for 143,000 shares @ $19.21 for $2,747,030.00
The bid/ask prices did not change 1 cent up or down !! My question
then, is, what DOES cause the bid/ask prices to go up & down if a monster order such as the one above had no effect on the B/A ?
Mr. Gratefullife. Can you explain for the benefit of the rookies out there(me being one)what you mean when you say "it will be halted for a gap down" ? I have some Dec 20 puts in place and don't want to lose the little bit I'm up. Thank you.
What does the $ (dollar) sign in front of a stock ticker/symbol mean Thanks........... newbie
Yes, marginal income tax rate going to 39.6% next year from 35%.
That's an extra $17,864.00 dollars to Uncle Sam for every $388,350.00. For the new 1000 millionaires, we're talking a new Mercedes or an extra bathroom & bedroom on the new house !!!!!
Econ 101 : When demand stops & supply increases - price drops !!!!!
Anybody want to take a shot as to how far the shares are going to drop in regard to the 14 Nov dump ? How does $15.00 sound to you guys that have been around for a while ?
OK, here's the deal. YUM was trading at $70.09. Action to take was this - Buy on stop-order at $73.76 or less. Good til 16 Nov Fri.
At what price do I place the order then ? Just over the $70.09 or just under the $73.76. In other words at what price should I place ?
Kindly advise the difference between just purchasing a stock below say $73.76 and purchasing same on a buy on stop-order at $73.76 or less. Read about this buy on stop and can't get a handle.
Why not hold options going into earnings ? I'm no Guru but I read where one of them said pre-earnings leads to LOTS of hype. Hype leads to a price increase most of the time he stated. Why ? People are creatures of emotion & react accordingly. Of course you have to have your stop ready at all times. Protect, protect, protect.
Bought FB Nov 21 calls for $70.00 late last week. Sold 'em this aft for $95.00. A cool 35.71% or $350.00 profit. Not bad for a lousy $980.00 purchase. I'll take those returns 5 days a week.
FB a POS. I don't think so.
Newbie here. Can you explain what 'bid sitting' means please ?
I believe 'bid whacking' means you sell your stock below the best
bid price does it not ? Also, what is an 'ask slap' ?
I hope this is the right forum to ask these questions.
