Dj: The C.E. you make reference to is well known to us and the "style" comes as no surprise to any of us or others in our field. This person is a self-proclaimed expert and chats on numerous internet sites. Not long ago, i found it odd that he did a turn around, supporting MEXP and its new direction. What direction? A name change?
I believe they're one and the same. I was in that office (Scaglione's) to sign the independent contractors agreement. The picture of Goldberg that DJ posts on occasion has a chart in the background. That's in Scaglione's office. Goldberg never had an office there independently.
I have heard that Michael Scaglione was charged and pleaded guilty in the United States District Court - Eastern District of New York. You may want to look into this. While on this subject, why is In Ovations Holdings, Inc. still using the Scaglione Coral Gables, FL. address? I brought this up before in a previous post but had no comment.
Take into consideration the fact that apparently the only MEI asset is the "RV Hispaniola" which they represented as being worth over a million. So why if MEI has any money would they not pay the dockage which is now $100,000.00 plus? Goldberg doesn't give a hoot about us getting paid but to put at extreme risk the loosing of the ship, I think that tell allot. Where did the money go?
Its my opinion you can get the real scoop from either "AlwaysLearning" or "Kimber1911" when they come back on the board.
It appears that the new "paint job" doesn't seem to be working very well. On the divers law suit side of things, maybe there's still hope for getting some pennies on the dollar for what's owed to us when they scrap the RV Hispaniola for used machinery and scrap aluminum value. Who knows? Second thought, when the marina gets theirs (first) and the lawyer steps in and takes his dig, that if any, remaining will have as much value as this stock does. That's my opinion.
Looks like, in my opinion, the Nope List has just been put through the "spin" factory. This post is not intended for purpose of countering your comments for intent to influence you for a change of mind, but only that others concerned with the facts may read and know what they are. For that reason I will address your numbers 6, 7, 12 and 18.
( #6 & #7) The divers law suit has not failed "once already" and the "old lawyer" was not abandoned. You can be forgiven for not reading Spanish but its rather easy to recognize the spelling of a name. The re-file of the law suit against the boat, as you well know, was posted here. The lawyers name Fernan Ramos is clearly there, so what you have written is not factual. Same old lawyer. The only reason it was re-filed was because there was a release done so as the RV Hispaniola could go up for auction. As the highest bid was apparently only $125,000.00 it was withdrawn and thus the formality of refiling the case. So, no its no where near a "cold case", intact its going to become a rather "hot" case very soon as the marine is coming into the legal picture now being owed around $100,000.00 U.S. for dockage bill.
(#12) "Boat has sailed before and their is only one boat". Amusing comment. All boats have sailed before at one time or the other. Actually there are three "boats". The RV Hispaniola" (the big boat) and two 17 foot inflatable boats (on deck), so you see the plural "boats" can be accurately stated. We worked out of these inflatables just as much as off the RV Hispaniola. The fact is the RV Hispaniola didn't "sail" enough which brings me to #18.
(#18) Burt Webber a Partner. Nope. and you say (Because he couldn't find treasure like he was suppose to!) No, as was put in evidence, that was not the reason. I recently posted Webber's Letter of Default to MEI which was based upon MEI's failure - inability to meet their obligations to fund the project and meet the other terms of the JVA they had with Webber. We had some good things going for us, particularly with the initiated salvage of the "Solo Dio Gloria" which was dropped because of lack of funding. As stated before, we were left unpaid and abandoned in Puerta Plata without even air fare back to the states.
In finishing, I again point out that the RV Hispaniola, now tied to the dock in Pueta Plata for over two years, has never had any below waterline hull maintenance done, and as an American flag vessel is in major violation of U.S. Coast Guard - American Bureau of Ships mandatory requirements. It can't even leave port legally. In the world of boating and ships the word gets out and thats undoubtedly the reason why the ship went back into litigation because of being basically "no bid" just like the MEI stock. You can change a company name, put some fresh make-up on it but if the names stay the same in management, then nothings changed.
While on the subject and since you added to the misstatements made in that interview, let me go ahead and point out a few more. First of all his historical explanation how the ships sailed, why they were carrying loot, etc. is one big hilarious joke to anyone with a basic historical background in this area. Dominican and Haitian waters have never been referred to as "the graveyard of ships". "Literally one thousand Spanish galleons, and others in their waters" There were never 1,000 SPANISH GALLEONS lost in the entire Caribbean, Bahamas and Florida, then yet alone off the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Yes, sad but also seriously misleading.
Yes, I just finished listening to the interview again and was about to post the exact same thing. What a straight out lie. Interesting that he says "with one of our former Capt.'s who's now retired". He's actually referring to Webber who was not a captain but was director of operations. Webber never retired so that too was a lie. The Webber (Hispaniola Ventures) letter of default to MEI dated June 15th, 2011 is self-explanatory and was posted here previously. There were more lies in that interview relating to the treasure hunting part of things but these's no need to waste the time going into it. All grossly misleading to would-be investors and stockholders alike.
dj_ponder.....I really believe you need to add another item of importance to the "Nope" list. In the Goldberg "paid-for" interview he did, he said that he and/or MEI was part of Webber's discovery of the treasure galleon "Concepcion" which occurred in 1978/79. (I suggest you listen to it again for accuracy). Goldberg never was part of that nor had any association. Matter of fact is the man knows nothing about the business of marine treasure hunting and salvaging. This is evident (to those in the know) when you listen to his mis-statements in the interview. So besides suggesting that you add this very important "Nope", what am I saying? Very simple - the man does not tell the truth.
Excuse me but without having to go through all past posts, didn't you also make the statement that the divers lawsuit was a "small claims court deal" didn't exist" "was a fraud"? The actual court filing in Puerta Plata, D.R. and the seizure of the RV Hispaniola for purpose of auction was posted on this site. Are you still claiming that was all bogus too?

My understanding, at the time, MEXP / Hispaniola Ventures fired Mr. Ed Krajewski before the RV Hispaniola ever left Miami in 2008.
You are right on. All of us have known who "Capted" is for a very long time and the reasons why. The postings never helped the MEI stock game even in the supposedly good days. There's also defamation of character done on an internet extortion site as well although I am not aware of who instigated that against Webber.

Are you even aware of a major discovery we (Webber) made of the Spanish frigate "Nuestra Senora de Begona" lost in 1725. First researched documents revealed in 2000 by Webber's researcher. Discovered by Webber's team, February 25, 2009 while we were training with the first of its kind "Webber designed" G-882 diver operated Cesium magnetometers. I have a copy of the official "Daily Activity Log" that was submitted to the Sub-Aquatic Office to prove that. This wreck is loaded with contraband treasure but Goldberg screwed up this intended contract exclusivity and the site became a Indiana University field school, no credit to Hispaniola Ventures or Webber who created the entire project. How do I know all of this - I WAS THERE. Any doubt? You need not worry as this entire story is coming out in a major publication in the very near future.
I do believe you are addressing that question to the very wrong person. He wasn't there. I do know the RV Hispaniola arrived in the Dominican Republic in 2008 (don't have the exact date but can get it). The final voyage was in November of 2010 (I was on board). During that time it's a provable fact that the ship made five or six voyages which were of minimal duration of 14 days and maximum of 21 days. The reality was that the ship sat at the dock more than it was ever out to sea because of lack of operational funds. We had produced a very good shipwreck "Solo Dios Gloria" which sank in about 1710 and this was producing a great quantity of artifacts, jewelry and silver coins. The potential was there but no money to work. The rest of the story is known. The Hispaniola got tied up at Ocean World Marine, we were not paid (for months back pay) plus abandoned by MEI without even airfare to leave the country. THESE ARE ALL PROVABLE FACTS.

Of further interest is the fact that Mark Goldberg resides in New York and never did reside in Miami or Coral Gables, at least during the period of this MEI fiasco. dj, there's a photo you have periodically used of "Would I lie to you" Goldberg. Don't know if you're aware but that was taken in Scaglione's office. I've seen the background once before. So the grand question. If Scaglione is no longer an officer of MEI and Goldberg resides in New York, what's with the 2600 Douglass Road address?
You have proven nothing. The law suit is "alive and well" as it's been re-filed. Note the date 2nd. of August 2013. No, it is not a fraud. Simply call the law firm of Fernan Ramos and the Ocean World Marine in Puerta Plata. There's discussion now regarding the disappointing value of the ship and it may prove to be worth more by selling off the machinery and cutting up the hull for scrap aluminum prices. Yes, allot of confusion but the suit is very real indeed.

I'm pleased to inform you that the divers and Dominican persons law suit in Puerta Plata (that you said numerous times was a fraud and didn't exist) will be posted sometime later today or tomorrow morning. This is but a re-filing of the original one against MEXP now over two years ago. Also unbeknown to most the boat was advertised for public sale (that can be posted too) and knowing the nightmare of circumstances relating to the boats condition and ABS problems, the highest offer was said to be $125,000.00 by a dive charter business in Miami, Fla. Of course no sale. Suggest you brush upon your Spanish.

I'm informed that Finius J Whoopie has a copy of the law suit against the RV Hispaniola, of which none of us were sent same. Hopefully he will post this sometime this week. I am told this was provided by an independent source in Puerta Plata.
Something stinks in MEXP land? It always has only the stench grows increasingly worse. I am informed that Webber has accessed a copy of the re-filed law suit against the RV Hispaniola. Same suit, same people (me included). I'm going to try and see if it can be posted. Should make 1911 happy. Also told that the dockage bill is now up or over $100K. U.S. and the marina is to be joining the legal fiesta. Yes, the boat is still floating but that says nothing as to the condition of the hull below the waterline. No anode replacement in over two years. Ask any shipyard management what that means for an aluminum hull vessel.
I find it amusing that one of the moderators on this board is responsible for about 25% of the "Just Say Nope" list VeronicaFox compiled. I guess for some people facts aren't relative.

My sources tell me that Scaglione never went to jail as bail was posted immediately. If someone knows otherwise, let us know. Important to keen the facts straight.
Although already known by some, I have learned that the "current" dock bill for the RV Hispaniola at Ocean World Marina is over $60,000.00 US and they are now contemplating their own litigation against the vessel. Also great concern over the condition of the bottom bellow the waterline and the liability of it possibly sinking there. Also based upon the U.S. Coastguard and American bureau of Ships licensing requirements, this is now an "outlaw" ship period.
An up-date of great interest. Michael Scaglione is no longer with MEI (so I've been told). Rosendo Alvarez is no longer with MEI (so I've been told). Mark Goldberg has had health issues - heart attack not too long ago (so I've been told) MEI has no deals or activity going on. (so I've been told). As recently as a week ago, the Ocean World Marine intends to seize the R/V Hispaniola for non-payment of now years of dockage fees (so I've been told). Its beginning to appear that MEI is a dead horse that just hasn't fallen over yet. My opinion.
