It seems like a very wordy version of stuff we already knew...
going back a loooong time
WW:
"We waste our time thinking shareholders can dictate anything to management."
Wait a minute... management doesn't have to obey the wishes of the owners?! Since when?
Maybe we need new management!!!
Acumen: LOL!
fly: OK, so why'd he quit??
Whee! Big PR!
Didn't seem to impress very many people...
On the contrary.
trashboy: Yep! LOL.

sami: Could it be
they're sucking the He out and compressing it into an onboard tank somehow to be reused? Perhaps it can be compressed to the point it becomes heavier than air or at least neutral...
When the military is testing
or evaluating a new system, don't they almost always have a contractor's representative present during testing? Where was our rep? Why hasn't the company let us know what happened?
They did after the Argus debacle. At least their version... And wasn't the Argus to be repaired and the testing continued? What happened to that???
The absence of any PR from the company is very troubling...
Hellooo? I meant that's why the need for a drone. Duh!
As far as "tugging" the Strat to the stratosphere, why not just attach the data package to a weather balloon and let it go at that? Because the original Stratellite concept had station-keeping ability- it was to remain over a specific area. A weather balloon drifts a long way on it's way to the stratosphere as evidenced by the Red Bull space jumper who drifted something like 50 or 60 miles downwind on his way up. So a tugged Strat would have to crawl from wherever it winds up back to wherever it needs to be...
As regards the tornado-proof drone- I didn't see tornado-"proof" anywhere. Not many things are really "tornado-proof." It's just that nobody gets killed going into a tornado doing research. I would guess the drones are considered expendable. Even if something survives the wind, it still has to survive all the debris flying around at 200 or so mph! That's why "Dorothy" in the movie "Twister" was made up of a bunch of little expendable weather-sondes.
I read where they're experimenting ultra-light carbon-fiber electric drones with built-on solar cells to overcome the nighttime power problems.
This company is pathetic.
Little by little, other companies are doing the things Tim Huff said WE would do. Google putting up cell phone blimps? Drone sophistication and loiter time soaring, costs plummeting?
The company communicates with us, it's owners, less than ever. We finally get to showcase in Nevada...and blow it. We get to showcase the BiB...and blow it. (Regardless of which dip-dunk lost the BiB, it's a failure!)
I have to wonder if both "failures" were to distract from less-than-stellar performance in these showcase tests.
And what DID ever happen to the Argus?
So if the Army's Chevrolet falls apart, it's on the Army and not GM? I get it now!
First they tear the Argus, now this.
Are they the Keystone Kops Surveillance Group?
How does the bid
go from .022 to .020...after hours???
trunk: I'm with you! eom.
Looks like somebody's bailing out of this big
time today!
"Now we get the smaller balloon but bigger truck."
Now that's funny!
The smaller share price not so much...
I know
I'm the board pessimist, but this company has already robbed me with one fifteen-to-one reverse split to get on AMEX.
Right now, we're supposed to have umpteen Stratellites hovering over underdeveloped areas beaming cell calls from God-knows-where to God-knows-where, and buying Cokes from the Coke machine with our cell phones, and "banking" the un-banked people of the world with Magic Money.
This is crap! A billion shares? A BILLION??? And vote against it all you want to but companies are not bound by shareholder votes as is evidenced by the large number of directors nationwide who remain on company boards after being unanimously voted out by their shareholders. Is our company any different?
Yeah, yeah, I know, "Why don't you sell and move on?" Because the money doesn't matter to me anymore as much as my having skin in the game to be able to vent here...
"A pessimist is never unpleasantly surprised."
Don't know, but since our conuty jail and court systems are run for profit by contractors I would guess unsworn...
IJO: FYI,
In ths particular case they were "disciplined", whatever that means. They weren't fired. Shoulda been.
Here we had some video monitoring people doing exactly what I said to college coeds. Zooming in and leering.
Who watches the watchers?
Did you guys
ever think that some of the "clowns" are behind the camera? Watching your daughters' behinds or your wives' breasts or maybe you doing something private that you'd rather not be known?
I have a FB acct I very rarely access. Does anyone know if we will receive alerts to check FB or will we just have to go there occasionally?
This is all very funny since IMO FB won't be "the Thing" much longer. People are already lowering their presence there...anyone remember IM-ing?
IHub Trades shows:
16,000 AH "buy" @ .0305, bid .021, ask .031
461,573 AH "sell" @ .0207, bid .021, ask .031
My TDA shows the same thing...?
The plants and trees at Eglin AFB, FL aren't so different from Ft. Benning, GA and not too far away. It's a lot easier to get to from Cocoa Beach: up I-95 and across I-10.
Just my two cents...
You do know this was an April Fool's joke, right?
WSGI/SNSR/GTE, etc. etc. ALWAYS reports
"Yeah, well, last year wasn't so hot but this year we're gonna FLY...we hope."
Kinda like the bar sign, Free Beer Tomorrow!
Tomorrow never becomes today!
IMO
"seek to commercialize our products"
Their only product is stock sales, IMO.
Yuk yuk!
We drove off a cliff today and nobody's posting???
I believe it CAN be else I'd be gone.
Thanks for the perspective, M.
A drone can't make an arrest...
How so?
Not that I disagree, I'd just like to hear your rationale.
Well, there you go!
I've always said that despite the terrorist's apparent guilt, BO's drone policy is simply high-tech, drive-by shooting. Hey, he's from Chicago...
I would hope WSGI has SOME morals when it comes to this.
I won't just suggest it,
I'll state it! Yes, they are!
IJO: Thanks,
but that doesn't do much to allay my fears. Our local cops, at times, don't even follow the US Constitution, the law of the land!
The judges seem to think the end justifies the means, Constitution be damned!
Now they want to parade their dogs past our front doors. If the dog "alerts", that's probable cause! But only if the dog is properly trained...yeah. We all know the K9 cops have signals to make their dogs "alert" giving probable cause for a search in the absence of a real alert. The Founders had lived in a police-heavy state and didn't want to create another.
I had hoped to profit in WSGI from surveillance in war zones, not my own backyard.
Since I'm not the only one with these concerns,
where do we go from here?
While I don't particularly dislike law enforcement, I personally know a great many cops who are really crappy people. Being a cop does not automatically imbue one with some kind of holiness, though to hear some LE supporters you would think it does.
Law enforcement is just another job, not a holy crusade. I believe the Founders knew this and set up their nation with that in mind.
Cops are people just like the criminals they pursue and have much more in common with them than they would like to admit...
