Sorry, Greg. I meant two iPhone 5 phones (plural.)
I have two iP 5s. I wouldn't be upset if they upgraded the case tomorrow. Doesn't change the fact I own two great phones. I wouldn't be upset with the LQMT pps either.
Thanks again for pointing out another poster's "failure in DD." It's all negative here unless recent progress is acknowledged in addition to past failures.
Thanks, Jimmy.
"Should the stock continue its decline or dribbling along the bottom of value thru the rest of the month, it will become quite clear that this latest PR is bull sheet and not a bankable report."
The latest PR echoed the latest CC statement about deliveries to Swatch, where Steipp said revenues would be modest (probably because LM needed a real delivery at any price.) Again, the important news is the partners have put at least one piece though production. Hopefully that will spur new orders by newly formed sales teams.
Precision, net shaped parts produced in minutes rather than hours on Engel machines. Can't ignore that. Go ahead and lead the way Apple.
The news is a real production cycle is going on. That building in Denver is receiving materials (from Materion?) and is using a newly perfected process to actually send a completed part out the door to a real customer. Theory becoming reality is huge for the sales people.
The news is VPC is online.
Nice to know there's still a little interest in our little penny.
Wondering if that four year old gap means anything. Different world/country/company/market.
It is obviously there to display qualities described in the blog: "Liquidmetal® Alloys produce Beautiful As-Cast Finishes" I wasn't revealing any new evidence of earnings, just responding to your request. I do think it is evidence of life behind LM doors.
"What makes you think Engel's management wants you to know any information about part production. If I was a member of Englel's management team, I would put you on the list of people to be last to know."
Explain.
"WHO AMONG US has seen ONE PRODUCT made on the ENGEL MACHINE."
Well, they say this picture is produced with current technology (I assume to be from an Engel machine.)

Wow, Rare... What made you change your mind?
Come on. If you give "DD" a short window, none of it amounts anything. This stock has been depressed because the latest Apple product didn't pan out or things are taking too long for a bunch of impatient investor's timelines. LQMT may succeed or fail based on their ability to get product to market in a timely fashion but, at some price, .15, .05, .01, .005, who knows... it's still a good gamble. I don't think the current low price changes the upside potential. If this thing stabilizes at some low price I'll probably get back in.
Materion/Visser/Engle haven't gone away.
Good stuff Poop. Thanks. At sub .10 LQMT still has risk/reward. I'm out but I'll be watching.
"penny stocks get no big contracts"
Materion is not a penny. The question is can LQMT hang on until Materion/Visser do their thing? The royalties will go somewhere though perhaps not into this stock. Not a slam dunk either way regardless of your monotonous rant.
LQMT R/S... Could you provide a link? Thanks.
I missed ICC's post but I can guess. We all suspect this thing is headed down for a while. A few "rare" posters provide a monotonous drumbeat designed to actually help bring it down. All of us can handle negative news. Most us would prefer the same self serving post to go away. If LQMT goes to a nickel it is not, as you said, done. A nickel might be a good in-point and I will consider it. If it ever gets there it'll probably bounce hard.
The iPhone 5 is awesome. If Apple has a problem it's because they're getting close to perfection and it's hard to sell incremental change. I suffered through Android world for the last three years and unless it gets a lot better I'll never go back. There is a reason for the fanatic Apple base. It's a Lexus and everyone else is GMC. My friends who make fun of Apple have never experienced a mature operating system running on a well machined piece of hardware. Android phones have a few more gadgets but Apple only releases features after confirming they don't screw up a smooth-running system. The Samsung ads make fun of straw men. Samsung products are so good that lately they donate half of their TV ad content to Apple.
That said, there's room for all the different makers. Plenty of people will select cheap over good. But, if Apple releases a waterproof LM phone you can run over with your car- look out.
Oops- is this the Apple board?
My wife and I just got rid of our Androids and purchased iPhone 5s. It's like losing a headache. To each his own but Apple will sell 10s of millions annually for many years. Hopefully, some of those years will see iPhones and other products made of Materion LM. We'll do well if and when.
As soon as it's feasible they'll roll it out. Why spend all the cash to develop it, only to wait and be trumped by a competitor's new material. I think we'll see it as soon as it's ready.
Apple is quickly running into the limits of technology. By definition the Retina display doesn't need to get better. The internet won't be faster anytime soon. Cellular bandwidth will top out. In the next year or so it's possible Apple will buy some time with something along the lines of Liquidmetal upgrades. Hopefully, our little company will already be profitable and this will just serve to kick things into a higher gear.
Out of the box... refreshing. Good stuff.
With equipment purchases by Materion and Visser and new marketing entities, let's see what happens. It feels better now at .15 than back a few months at .30, hoping for a quick pop off a profitless Apple PR.
I sold and bought a few times over the past few month and now have approximately the same number of shares I had when LQMT was .30. To me, LM's prospects haven't changed. Call it irrational but my targets for the stock haven't changed, so to my mind I have half the exposure and the same upside. It's all within my risk tolerance so if it all goes away I won't be jumping headfirst off my roof (and my wife won't be prompting me to do it.) I'm good.
I'm not sure any of your reasoning applies to this little penny (much appreciated though!) Divide zero into the revenues of one good customer and you'll immediately see the problem in evaluating LM's progress. Anything that drives this stock up to two or three dollars probably will be irrational exuberance and I say... Bring it on!
A number of people on this board sold their positions and would love to see prices down around .10. I can't see any other reason to hang around here repeating the same doomsday call. It must be maddening to see daily resistance at .15.
One PR about one good order and things will be better in a hurry. I'll hang on to that for awhile.
"This is for the old posters with senility, those out of the loop, or those who have a problem reading historical DD posted long ago."
So then, except for the writer "This" is a wasted post.
Thanks for all the work on the photos. Any evidence of progress is very welcome.
Most of the the physical changes shown in these photos also show in the Google satellite pix but not the street views. Picture 3 is the most interesting. A female and male exiting the front entrance. Six vehicles parked in the front and side. Looks to be office personnel rather than construction workers (only one truck.) A trailer backed up to one of the bays (loading or unloading?)
Whoever took the pictures should walk in the front door and ask what's going on here. Take some iPhone 5 video while you're at it. The west yard gate is open so get some more footage through the open bay doors. Thanks in advance!
Materion found more efficient ways to make the stuff? Real order quantities are much cheaper than prototype quantities?
I haven't had as much of a problem with Steipp as many here. His progress is much slower than many of us want but I listened to the Abakan presentation before us at RedChip and at one point the presenter stated he thought they would would beat their 17 year goal by a year. A different perspective.
Normally with you Jimmy but you miss the mark here.
1) Thinking about the 17 Executives pay at Liquidmetal versus the shareholder stock price.
If they each made $500./month it would be over 3000x pps. A meaningless ratio. I express my displeasure by not investing.
2) VPC as a manufacturer in conjuntion with Apple, we've discussed bringing manufacturing back to the US and possibly using VPC to manufacture for Apple.
Probably not dependent on CEO salaries.
3) How mad us "little guys" get versus the LQMT principals
Do "little guys" have tens of thousands of discretionary dollars for crap shoots like this? You're not a little guy, Jimmy.
Say what's on your mind, IC. We need balance. We just don't need the crazy old professor rapping us on the knuckles with his ruler if we don't meet his standards (thankfully MIA lately.)
