Why We Love Our Jobs...by iHub Admin
Poster to Edward in a tear saturated PM: "Why did you remove my post, you idiot?"
Edward: "You have to post about the company and avoid content about other posters."
Poster: "All I said was slojab is a doink."
Edward: "You can't say things like that about other users of the site."
Poster: "But it's true."
Edward: "Well, maybe. But you still can't post it here."
Poster: "I have a First Amendment right to say what I want."
Edward: "The First Amendment doesn't apply to your posts here. We have rules."
Poster: "Bullshit. You can't delete my posts if they're the truth."
Edward: "I think I can."
Poster: "%*^&@$% you. I'm gonna call my lawyer and the SEC right now."
Edward: "OK"
Edward reaches for an Advil.

You are correct and I was looking at the wrong post. For that I apologize.
But the underlying issue remains. And that is TOS compliance. Threats of physical violence are even more intolerable than attacks on other posters.
Right now you're in jail for two weeks. That could be shortened or lengthened depending upon your ability to understand that you do not dictate the rule structure on this site. Attacks on other posters are not acceptable here.
If excessive they qualify for removal as spam.
month/day/year.
Please read and reply to my private message.
As with most things, that depends.
Spam
Posting the same or similar content to more than two (2) boards within a calendar day;
Posting the same or almost identical post more than twice within a calendar day i.e. "where's the PR?", "anyone seen the PR?", "thought there was going to be a pr today?", "geez, is the pr coming out today or not?";
Sending the same or similar unsolicited PM to multiple recipients More on PM spam.
Posting statements that do not add value to the discussion (i.e. "My cat ate my homework" or "Bzinga");
Posting excessively on one or more message board(s). The boards are for discussion not a pulpit for individual Users. If you feel someone is abusing their posting privilege in this manner, please discuss this with a Site Admin without deleting any posts that don't otherwise violate the TOS. Admin will review posting history and may, at their discretion, impose posting restrictions if deemed to be warranted..
Spam that overlaps off-topic are posts containing content promoting other sites.
Spam promoting other stocks/companies on a stock specific board. For example, if your board is about Ford Motor Company, a post or link suggesting someone buy stock in a pharmaceutical company is not relevant to the discussion. This does not apply to industry or trading comparisons/discussion. For example, someone comparing a stock run to a similar run on another stock is fine. It also doesn't apply if someone makes an off hand comment that they took profits on another specific stock and brought them here. The goal is to remove clear, egregious promotion of other stocks ("Get out here and take your money to XXXX", etc.).

Site Admins generally get involved in private messages only when they contain threats of physical violence, spam or extreme vulgarity. If you have received a PM like this, you can send a copy/paste of the message to us as we cannot see PM's even when a link is sent.
Otherwise, if you are getting unwelcome Private Messages, click on the link at the bottom of the PM that says "Block User's Private Messages".

LOL...how did I know it would be you? Touche'.
It's all semantics simply because there can be so many iterations of the same theme. The underlying concept is the issue of how each post, individually, is phrased. If there is evidence of a comment referencing a poster the post is eligible for deletion. If the post clearly references only the content of a previous message and does not, otherwise, come afoul of the TOS, it is not eligible for removal.
That is a pretty clear line. The issues arise when one poster thinks he/she is the smartest person in the room and tries to couch a response in terms that only his/her buddies and the recipient will realize are directed at him/her as an insult. Then, identifying the insult, we delete the post only to have the offending poster come whining to us about the deletion when, in reality, they're just whining because they clearly were not the smartest person in the room.
Those folks don't like us and we're just heartbroken over it.
Occasionally, there may be a legitimate discussion to be had about a given deletion and we will gladly entertain those discussions.
In the case of these proposed rules modifications we're just trying to adapt to the changing times. It is a challenge and the input from our members helps greatly.
I'm not sure we think it's broke, Churak. I think we believe it needs to be tweaked a bit. And yes, it surely does matter what you folks think. If that were not the case you would have simply seen an announcement of the new guidelines and not had this opportunity to present your opinion on the matter.
I think something is wrong when one poster asks a question of another poster, the other poster answers, and a mod or Admin has to delete both the question and answer because there is some technical TOS violation embedded in the original question and the underlying answer is deleted because it lacks context absent the original question on the board. That's the sort of thing that people can't understand.
That's just one example. It happens quite often.
They're inserts for the center of 45 rpm records when played on a record player not equipped with a 45 rpm adaptor.
How many times do I have to explain this? The ones who are nerds living in their mom's basement and trying to boss people around are identified as IH Geek. Those of us with a superiority complex and "seem like rah rah cop types" are identified as IH Admin. Do try to keep up, please.
Really? And here we thought you were so enamored with us that you kept opening all of those other accounts just to spend more time here.
Work through it with the other mods.
Beauty! A+. Top notch rant.
Ummmmmmm...You forgot a little rant for politicians and banks.
Throw in a little blurb about free speech and I think you'll have it covered.
Around here that will get you about as far as "But officer, I'm not the only one in town selling crack." That is...absolutely nowhere.
Oh! You want free and open discussion. You'll have to talk to Churak about that. He's a Canuck so he might go for that free and open thing.
Commies? Well, maybe Shelly. The rest of us like to think of ourselves as progressive socialists. And Satan? He's just...well...Satan.

That depends entirely upon the specific content of the post. Without more detail the answer is "maybe". And this is not the appropriate venue for providing more detail.
You need to read and reply to my PM.
Wow!
You need to send that request here:
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/profile.aspx?user=111041
You could only do that if the board were a Premium Board and you were a moderator there. For any board in the "Free Zone" you would need to send a PM to Admin making the request for a ban.
Barring extenuating circumstances, you get them back automatically when your suspension expires.
