Thanks, I did go back and listen again to what the Bingham Canyon geologist said. Talk about subtle sarcasm. He said, "Jim, this is the doggiest... project I've ever seen. Why there isn't even room to hold the Bingham Canyon mine."
My tiny brain had to try and substitute some more generally known area like, "Jim your quarterback is the doggiest QB I've ever seen. Why he isn't even as good as Peyton Manning." But then following through with this, Jim adds the equivalent to saying, "Later we found that our QB was actually superior to Peyton Manning."
Perhaps an exaggeration, but if HM could actually be bigger than the current biggest, maybe not.
I thought it was a lot more doable when it seemed that it was half a million and not two million we needed...but I've often thought of trying to work some deal where some of us contributed to a crowd funding deal. With enough people like me that could only contribute a small amount, it could at least lessen the amounts needed from the connections you and rich2 have. Maybe someone who had the wherewithal would be more open to investing, say, $500,000 to get in rather than all two million. Maybe if we handled the mundane paperwork Mr. Gross could help a bit. Or another attorney connection, my brother being one possibility.
(Someone else on the other board also suggested this recently.)
Oh thanks. So I heard the word right but did not pick up on the sarcasm. I will listen again later.
At some point in the interview, JB relates a story about a guy from Bingham Canyon commenting on Hay Mountain. The thrust of the comment was something good about HM and about the size of it. But I could not catch the word used and even JB notes that he did not understand what the guy meant at first. The word sounds like "doggy" but since the BC guy is obviously saying something good about HM, that does not fit. At any rate, it's one more tiny piece of information that LBSR is putting the word about to prominent people in the mining industry.
But does not that presume a stasis, not allowing for any expansion or increase in volume? The capacity thus dictates the glass being full with no potential for change on the upside. I think I have mild Asperger's syndrome.
"It looks like LBSR has the goods."
geologist #2
I've always hoped that there would be some type of snowball effect or "tipping point" (Malcolm Gladwell)with anatabine. Coverage like that referenced makes me think the snowball is growing a few snow flakes at a time. Of course, it would be nice to have some type of product to actually sell...
Not to be overlooked is the connections that Fiona Crawford seems to be making.
Thanks for posting that coverage of Anatabloc. It looks like he has quite a few really good articles on anti-aging. Is he pretty well-known?
Wow, that is very interesting and scary that some group in China is already working on "pirating" anatabine. I guess in some weird way, it shows someone there thinks the compound does have merit. I hope you can keep us posted if you hear anything else on that. But this makes me want to go on a very short rant.
When I go to brainstorming meetings in advertising, most of the ideas presented (including mine) are not that good but part of the process. Some ideas seem really good but it later turns out are not feasible because of something we did not know at the time. But it seems to me that RCPI needs to have someone there at least trying to be creative. If your source is correct, it seems that the company should at least be exploring ways to find a partner in China. And while I understand that any marketing efforts have to be dignified and consistent with good science, isn't there any way RCPI can make a stronger connection to Roskamp and the work Fiona Crawford is doing? When I emailed the two covering analysts at Maxim (and they did have degrees like biochem or similar) about the GFI studies, one of them emailed me back and asked where to find that info. They had a long detailed analysis of anatabine, but did not know about this important direction. OK, end of rant. Thanks again for the China info.
Thank you so much for the comprehensive analysis of RCPI's falling share price. I am not usually the sue-happy type, but I take your word that Maxim's contribution to all this is "suspect" and I wish there were a way to take them to court. Looking for a bright side, I am a little bit hopeful that you felt good enough about this clusterf--you know--to buy more. Silly me, I last bought at .67 thinking that we'd be nearing the bottom and psoriasis news was coming soon.
Here is an off-the-wall idea that I had which could circumvent all the FDA approval complexities. From a connection in China, I got the impression that a big part of Chinese health care is the neighborhood medicine shop. And with the rise of the Chinese middle class, people have some money to spend on keeping themselves healthy. Maybe RCPI could come to some agreement with a group in China to manufacture anatabine citrate and sell it as a nutraceutical in China. It might actually REDUCE the chance that someone there will eventually pirate the compound if some Chinese were already making money on the real product.
I hope so, Leif. I think I did notice that the #of OS went from 11.2 mil to 12 mil. I perused the annual report that just came out but not closely enough to find any reason for the drop other than possible new shares being sold by financers. (?)
The answer is, "Great lengths."
And the question is "How far can EC hit the ball on the moon?"
OR
"How far will some people go to come up with silly ways to bash LBSR?"
kind of discouraging to see an all-time low today. I noted the recent update projected some news about the psoriasis trials "in 2016." I remember the company saying the fourth quarter of 2015, then the first quarter of 2016, then revised to the first half of 2016. Now, just "in 2016." Note that everything above is statement of fact, except for the discouraging part. Also sad that so many people who were being helped by anatabine citrate--and who could be helped (GWI vets) cannot get this compound somehow.
I am going to answer even though I might be a little off and hope that one of the smarter posters corrects me and helps you. I think at one time, LBSR would use the figure $25,000. But I think they have since been willing to accept less. At one point, I thought I could scrape together $20,000 and they sounded willing, but I could not do it. But maybe you could do $10,000? The advantage is you get the shares at a discount; but you cannot sell them for a period of time. OK, smart posters, do your work!
p.s. I have said before that if I had $500,000 to invest, I would buy $200,000 worth on the open market and then do a $300,000 PP. I bet I'd make my money back quickly when thr PP was made public! If it is legal. It's like having insider information where I would actually be the one causing the insider info.
I would argue that JB hit a home run with the NAK deal in 2010. Yes, the toxic funding hurt real, real bad; but the controversy over Pebble has been extreme and out of JB's control. I am betting he is good for at least one more home run. And baseball season starts next week (literally)...
Their main product is a strange story because so many people with some many problems which relate to inflammation have benefited from this. So, ironically, when you tell someone that, they sometimes perceive it as exaggeration. Everyone else here has heard my stories multiple times (sorry!) but my doctor was the one who told me about this a few years ago. He recommended the nutraceutical Anatabloc to many friends and patients. Two of his patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's were even reporting that it was helping. When the product was taken off the market, both patients showed marked deterioration; and one patient happened to have a daughter that was a nurse and confirmed this. Not trying to talk you into buying! (Leif also has quite a few stories about people being helped.)
My calculations show that on the two boards we have in common, you are right 97.8% of the time. I kid. But I agree 100% on your comments on anatabine citrate and some type of trials for TBI and GWI. I think along the lines of "do no harm." It seems there is ample (maybe overwhelming?) evidence that anatabine has no serious side effects. It is a shame that military and ex-military cannot somehow try anatabine and not have to wait years. As others here have said, maybe there is a pathway to quicker approval by the FDA, esp. since another govt entity has acknowledged the potential of the compound.
In the first contact I had with one of the two geologists that have given advice/opinions on LBSR, geologist #2 said be believed LBSR "has the goods." I got his opinion a couple years later, I think it was in 2015 some time, and he thought LBSR showed enough promise to attract a mid-level mining company. (I think he had been focusing on the latest NRs about the near-surface minerals and was not considering larger anomaly.) I think in this interview, JB confirms again that there is significant evidence HM does have the goods. Now...let's hope someone with some money sees what we see!
That is almost a crime. I have mentioned that my doc has a number of patients and friends who were very dismayed when their supply was gone. There was something about that New Zealand study that made me think the product might be sold there as a nutraceutical, but I guess that was not part of any plan. All the best.
Yes! It was you and I did not feel like going back to find your name and give you "credit." Thanks for the update too. Sounds like we will get...something...in the next few days.
I go back to a post here possibly in January (?) from someone who does not post here often that said he (?) had talked to Tracy on the phone. She said JB would "have something to say" when the S-1 was approved. So I would infer that we will have some type of update very soon. It is possible that some type of financial financing was contingent on approval with the lower number of shares approved and any deal had to wait until the S-1 went through to satisfy a party thinking of funding HM. Possible. Then again, a new NR might just update on permitting, etc. Still in the business day (2:45) in the high desert of Tucson...
Thanks EC. 12 million shares, $25,000 for the week, and possibly 10 days, give or take, left in the quiet period. Life is good.
Thanks. Keep us posted...
abso loot ly. I am hoping a measly $500,000 from the aforementioned capital markets gets pried loose from somewhere so LBSR can start that drill program.
This is sort of responding to your post about investors. Just read an interesting short article quoting the well-respected Rob McEwan who was critical of "streamers" in the mining industry. He said:
"Right now, capital markets are starting to provide money to the mining industry and the streamers and royalties will no longer have the lock on financing."
If you assume that LBSR "has the goods" as one geologist communicated to me, then this could be very good for LBSR.
I still think JB will come through some day soon, and if you still have some LBSR shares, you can even fix your TV. Hell, I may even buy one of those newfangled ones with the color.
Well said. I also started buying this at about .55 before the R/S. So like you said, some of my shares cost me $2.20. I am down tens of thousands of dollars--and that is even taking into account that I sold 400,000 at .113 in 2010 (necessity). But I over invested. My bad. At least so far. I still think LBSR will somehow pull this out. And even should the worst happen, I would still believe that Jim Briscoe and Tracy and other people involved in LBSR are honest people who genuinely believe that there is a huge amount of minerals in the ground near Tombstone. Yes, it is my opinion only, but it is based on the opinions of two geologists, friends of Dr. Guilbert, employees of a public utility in SE AZ, back-channel news about some of the things that JB has been doing and much more. I am posting this because I am so sick of the baseless claims and personal attacks here. Find a hobby, for God's sake.
Ouch. You should really try out those rat puns first with mouse models. Not high fashion ones, just the average house mouse.
So what does this have to do with Liberty Star? I cannot tell you during quiet period.
Why does a muskrat guard his musk?
Lighten up, Francis.
I tried to connect with this woman--really because she was pretty-- but she was also into digital marketing and might need advertising copy, which is what I do. When it asked how I knew her, I checked that I didn't know her. Linked In told me I had to know someone to connect. Maybe if I would have fibbed and said I knew her in one of the other choices, it might have sent her the "request." I don't know. I really don't use LinkedIn
Still, I stand by the main serious point that JB has somehow or other connected with the three venture capital guys (recently) And that all it means is that he is working on things. Quit acting like I made some type of giant leap.
I just got an email from LinkedIn that said James Briscoe has six new connections. There are five pics in the email. Three of those five have to do with venture capital. He and the other LBSR people are doing a lot behind the scenes.
I feel guilty because among his many connections, I saw a really cute computer-type marketing professional in Canada and tried to connect with her. But you have to KNOW the person to connect. Hmph. I guess it's not a dating service. But note that fact as it relates to JB: you have to know someone to connect with them on LinkedIn.
Yes I wish I could see into the future and see just how many areas anatabine could be at least "trialed" for. I thought about this today because a friend of mine is trying to get me to come to a multi-level meeting for a company that starts with "N" and has what is claimed to be a breakthrough in skin/wrinkle products. I have to wonder if any product could benefit by adding some anatabine! I have no idea how the Anatabloc skin product worked, but I did see some positive comments.
Do they have Buffalo wings or a nice cheese & crackers platter? I don't really like veal even if I cover it in ketchup. We have some built-in hecklers here.
OH and those debunkers are great for taking disassembling bunk beds. OK, I won't quit my day job.
I also have back channels that indicate your post has validity. But it is not for here. No reason for me to lie. I don't expect nor do I want to get people to buy LBSR.
Nope have not given up and even bought some shares at .67. Oh well. ( should legally have to file when I buy shares of a stock because it then always goes down.) I am just a little irked that their communications had psoriasis trials starting by the end of 2015 (I think), then the first quarter of 2016, and now the first half of 2016. But as my much calmer fellow shareholder, my doc, tells me: the wheels move slowly in this industry. Still, I would like to know if it is a realistic possibility that there could be some kind of fast track so that Gulf War and other vets could get anatabine citrate now rather than in 2020. I think it's pretty much shown to be safe...and at least better risk than suffering from TBI or GFI!
My thanks also, EC.
If it is who I think it is, I met him here in Tucson and he is a very sharp guy. I am hanging my hat on a post from a few weeks back that said the poster had talked to JB and that when the quiet period was ended, he would have "something to say."
LBSR to da moon! Or maybe at least to a very low level orbital satellite.
I will do that, thanks. It is interesting that in all of these products, Protandem, Zyflamend and Relief Factor, turmeric or curcumin seems to be the main ingredient. My oft-cited doc does take (or was taking) Protandem, but I know he feels that anatabine citrate is in a league of its own.
I am not a lawyer, but I don't think someone else making a grab after a bankruptcy would have any obligation to RCPI shareholders. Anyway, I think of Mullan and company as the good guys that did take over.
According to some complex algorithms I've been noodling, the aforementioned predictive powers fall 26.456% lower than the blind squirrel but 11.32% higher than an Atlantic cod. I have all of the info on a big chalkboard so it would be hard to include here. Please do not use any information in this post in deciding whether to buy, sell, hold or flush LBSR shares.
I have a new roommate who has RI and was just telling her about anatabine, but I said that maybe it only helped osteoarthritis. So your post is good info if, later, she can get it somehow. I was going to suggest she try one of the other anti-inflammatory products on the market which I feel are not as powerful as anatabine, but the main ingredients of those seem to be turmeric and green tea extract. So maybe until somehow she can get "Anatabloc" in some form, I will suggest she try those. Thanks for the info.
