Went up to North Conway,NH to do some shopping around the outlet stores Saturday and got done early so we decided to go up Rte16 to Berlin,NH to look at the Laidlaw site. I was impressed with what I saw. No where near what is described by some here saying it's not suitable for the area. It's a very large site and across the river and away from the main part of town which has the most housing in the area. At one time these large rivers were used to float logs down from up north to the paper mills to be processed. It was cheaper than trucking them at the time. There are many industrial type businesses around the Laidlaw site if you took the Rte16A truck route around the east side boundary of the site. There's also an insulation manufacturing business on the site plus a few smaller businesses. Down the river a short distance, maybe less than a mile, is the Fraser paper mill which is still operating. That plant is closer to housing than Laidlaw. These plants when built where the backbone of the communities they were in and the housing was built to be of convenience to the residences as to their employment. IN my opinion there shouldn't be a problem with Laidlaw operating a power producing plant in this area. After leaving Berin we continued on Rte16 north for a couple of hours toward Dixville Notch and there was nothing but forest that need to be thinned out. There is a lot of misconception in this room as to the area involved here. This area is ripe for a Biomass plant such as the one Laidlaw proposes. I think this plant will be approved and up and running a lot sooner than what some here would like you to think. Wish all here could make the trip and see for themselves. Oh yes and if I might add if you like to ski bring them when you come. There's some of the best ski slopes in the world up here and there good to go thru April.
BLAP on the move. Possible buyout candidate !!!
AUTO cares about us so much that they backed of selling yesterday so the PPS could go up a little before they started selling again so as to keep the PPS above .001. Thank you AUTO !!!
Looks like we could see a run on this one. Picked up some Jan 2011 calls.
This ones got potential.
MM's and the company.
Sorry but Pease Trade Port does have a Biomass Plant directly accross the street from it's industrial park and it's ownwd by PSNH. It's a wood burning plant. A very large one at that.
Seems to be great demand for lithium.
