"Too bad I can't go to Chicago.
Maybe catch a Cubs game at Wrigley Field - that would be cool."
WTF?! 'Losing' on PPS isn't enough for you?
"I can see people now lying around texting there friends username and getting the call. Big big money if they did this."
Really? I see them lying around and texting because they're not interested in talking at that time. Now, time to talk. Increasingly it's "call Capitan Canada" or 2 quick key pad or screen entries and the call is on its way.
Now, try this:
You've purchased your Vanity Key Word....I won't be the one to have sold it to you for $5, 10$, $20 or whatever you think is a fair price.....I mean 7% of....
Anyway, you've bought it. Now explain to me, one of your "Fav 10-20-30, what the benefit/advantage is to me to add a text prompt for you to my phone address book. I listen patienty, after all I'm one of your fav's, but I'm not seeing the gratification for me. So after you finished your excited display of 'vanity', I take my mobile device and make a quick touch screen or keypad entry or two, or say your CURRENTLY STORED name, and bada boom, bada bing your phone rings. Now what?
You've already given me your '30 second elevator pitch'. Do you really want to ask me "what part of this aren't you getting?", while I'm thinking the same question about you?
"We'll see, I believe that Ares will post on the web site this week and send out an e-mail.'
What do you base this belief upon, or is it just your expressed hope?
"I'm also conjecture the probability is high that SEC will be completed issue in apx 1 months time. If not we are screwed. I give it 78% not screwed 23% screwed."
How can you possibly conjecture either a time frame or afix %'s to possible outcomes?
I haven't been one to either bash or pump this stock, but neither am I inclinced to accept "beliefs' about this or any other stock. Too often those posted beliefs are projections of hopes and nothing more.
"scams don't behave this way, they have a habit of looking perfect, too perfect."
Well that's certainly not the problem here! Seriously, it was over a month ago when Ares told myself and numerous people that they were going to release information that "would help share-holders' interests" I've waited patiently for that, and the response is always "it's in the works".
"There are no benefits, really. The whole motivation/reason behind a vanity keyword is just like a vanity plate: VANITY. All I'm saying is this is a fun, simple, no-brainer way to make some BADLY NEEDED CASH and not have to wait on businesses or LOI's to come to fruition. Wouldn't you agree that making money is paramount?"
I think that some are projecting their and our professed desires for wider name recognition for Go800, as well as revenues, onto a business model for Vanity Key Words that doesn't
really address personal needs that are currently and easily served by voice to voice mobile communications
I'm not disputing the novelty value for Vanity Key Words, but you haven't made the practical application case, much less the economic case, for personal communication as opposed to branding, customer acquisition and CRM. What are the Vanity Key Word equivalent benefits for people who text when they just want texts and who have their friends and families
generally one or two clicks or one voice prompt away for voice conversations? You have to give them a reason to pay for a service and the utility relative to how they voice communicate presently is not apparent, for personal use.
"Vanity Keywords would be just like a vanity car license plate. You could get a word like "Super Mom" or "Top Broker," or "Gr8guy, etc"
There are two schools of though on the board regarding this:
1) It'll be a winner (as I believe)
2) It makes no sense to do"
There's a third 'school':
3) It is an application in search of a need.
"These are geared towards individuals that want to be able to "state something" and/or be reacheable by such a method."
Who has a mobile device and is not reachable by those the mobile user wants to be able to reach them? What are you stating to your friends when you pay an additional $10-$20/mo to have a text to connect service when your friends are already able to text as well as easily call you...voice prompt or scroll, keypad press, connect?
The business needs are chiefly branding, new customer acquistion and improved CRM (Customer Relationship Management).
Does anyone need/want 'branding' for their personal life, new friend acquisition or FRM (Friend Relationship management)?
Vanity plates do make a statement and it's both a readily visible statement and an easy to remember entry for those few occasions when one is requested to write their driver's license # down.
Can you explain the benefits of text to connect to anyone who has a mobile device address book that is not difficult or time consuming to access and make a call from to friends whose names or nicknames are memorable enough to make the cut on the device user's friends list?
"I myself see the vanity keyword would really only work for very small businesses that cant afford 150$/mo for example - "tony's bike shop " or BOBS flowers etc. you might be able to get 30$/mo.'
There go our revenues for generics! Dooner and I were kicking this Vanity Key Words idea around this morning. Most salient points, made by Glenn, kids are texting each other because they DON'T WANT TO TALK...at least about the matters they're texting! Also, they've got their FAV 5 or 20 or 30 that they can connect to with one key stroke or a voice prompt. Probably a few 'vanity' designations in those address books too. Where's the need?
As for the .04 charges, that's another argument against Vanity number economics.
Ambassadors are not charged for their vanity key word nor is it likely we will incur the .04 charge when it's implemented.
Here are some other arguments against vanity numbers that I posted in a PM. They all seem supefluous after talking with Dooner!
You would have to choose sufficient area codes to accomodate all of your friends cell phone area codes in order for them to text and connect with you. Cost prohibitive for all but the most 'vain'....and the most prosporous too!
I can see a real battle ensuing with vanity first names and perhaps companies creating bogus vanity names to escape current pricing for whatever vanity pricing might be. It may be feasible at some point, but it's not as simple as some make it out to be.
"MSFT, AAPL, CSCO, WMT, etc...."
You can add GEICO and TMOBILE which I am actively working through
their respective ad agencies. It's a hard slog though a labyrinth
of decison makers within the agencies and with their clients. They too want to see what other 'big hitters' are advertising. Big concerns about being first. I promise nothing but to build the necessary relationships and trust for when the time is right for them to 'give it a go'.
"Hey Folks, need an ambassador to reach for Boston area.

"For instance in Ticker symbol the company buying the ticker can pay $10,000.00 up front or I think monthly for 3 years!!
So that becomes income for the one month of $10,000.00 or $10,000.00 over 36 months income!"
If they elect to pay monthly it is $500/mo X 36 months = $18,000.
Discount is too generous for many to opt for $500/mo, unless they're just 'trialing' the service.
http://go800corp.com/custom_form.go?custom_form_id=56745&referrer_url=http%3A%2F%2Fgo800corp%2Ecom%2Fpage%2F555%2Fseveral%2Dtypes%2Dof%2Dvoice%2Dkeywords%2Dare%2Davailable%2Dexclusively%2Dat%2Dgo800
Ticker Symbol Voice Keywords are $500 per month for National Coverage.
Note starting 2011 we will be charging .04 per minute for all connected calls.
Recording Service will cost an additional $100 per month. Special Discount - 3 years at a flat rate of $10,000 + .04 per minute for connected calls.
We will accept Company shares valued at $25,000 in lieu of the $10,000 cash payment.
"Does anybody think the ticker system could be in violation of SEC insider information?! I think this is very important and needs to be addressed by Ike!!
Isn't Go800 walking a fine line with this?
Has Go800 cleared out this issue with the SEC? What if a company gets sued over insider information and then ultimately Go800 gets sued for providing such a service!'
Why would any company take this text to connect service as license for their IR Dept to release anything different from when people call the IR 800 #. And is the phone company liable for insider info transmitted over their lines?
"I believe/know the idea to text police for help was for a NON emergency use not 911."
I took that into account. What do you suppose is the volume of such calls? What is your key word choice to distinguish 'non-emergency' from 911?
Here's what Chicago's police phone #'s look like.
Police Department Phone Numbers:
All Emergencies: CALL 911 (TTY 911)
Anti-Gun Enforcement Telephone: 877-CPD-GUNS (877-273-4867)
Bomb & Arson Hotline Telephone: 773-533-FIRE (773-533-3473)
CAPS Implementation Office Telephone: 312-747-9987
Drug Hotline Telephone: 800-CRACK44 (800-272-2544); TTY: 312-747-3673
Gang Hotline Telephone: 312-746-GANG (312-746-4264) ; TTY: 312-746-4276
Non-Emergencies Telephone: 311 ; TTY: 311
Superintendent's Hotline / Report Narcotics Activity Telephone: 312-939-5555
I don't rule out texting 'gangs', 'guns', 'crack' or 'bombs and arson' to 46800 as a posibility, but it's a question of priorities and just how much 'heavy lifting' I want to invest in selling a municipal bureaucracy in today's economic environment.
"How many are out on the road and need some assistance and you can text rather than tying up a 911 service? I would also say when you need their service the easier it is to make a direct connection the better it is."
Have YOU ever dialed 911 and not connected immediately?
In this case it seems to me you're assuming a need that is not readily apparent.
I'm prepared to be persuaded, if you can furnish news stories about unresponsive or 'busy signal' 911 calls, as distinct from the horror stories of badly handled emergency 911 calls.
Plus, I'm not aware of any municipalities swimming in budget surpluses right now.
Businesses first, Gov second and Vanity use third.
Some hilarity for a hot summer night.

"There are probably about 75-85% of people that don't need the app, including me. In the future this will more than likely change and will be a great option to have and make it more simple to connect!"
I continue to think that 'voice' interface....'voice to text'.... will be the 'leapfrog technology' for expanding the use of texting across generations":
Voice to text on T-Mobile MYTOUCH phone.
Nuance states that their Voice Control application is 'platform agnostic', which suggests that after a period of exclusivity it will become more widely available.
'Voice to text' is the breakthrough app that will make Go800 more widely understood and accepted as the easiest and fastest way for customers and prospects to connect to Go800 client companies.
" think I will grill tonight, but I have no sirlion, but do have a few ribeyes with some fat on them."
'Delicious' read! And, as so often happens, some key word ideas generated:

text 'angioplasty'to 46800
text 'bypassguys' to 46800
"life's still pretty good (it beats the alternative)"

"I want to market the go800 system to her. What should I tell her? What texts should I have her try that would impress her? It would be awesome if she talked about it on monday on the radio."
Send me the radio station call letters and the phone number for the
"click chic". dhippe@msn.com
I'll figure out what the best key word would be for the station/her and reserve it. I'm thinking 'clickchic' may work as her brand. You or she will be able to demo her own radio station to her.
you can also use these:
Brand WBBM780
Brand WSCR670
"'self-provisioning' meaning testimonials from companies already using Go800?"
Not sure how you construed that. It means a prospect will be able to create their account at the Go800 website. If it is a prospect being worked by an Ambassador who has reserved a Brand or Generic for that prospect, there is a promo code which links the Ambassador to the
prospect so that credit for the sale will go to the Ambassador.
More often than not that propect will be signed up by an active Ambassador. However if the Ambassador is no longer active, or a different person at the prospect company lands on the web site they can sign themselves up
An 'unworked' prospect who creates their own account goes to the 'house'.
"its all the babies here whinning on things they think should be done and when.'
During this morning's EngageLogic/Go800 Ambassadosr Meeting
webinar there was a participant's baby occasionaly crying
in the background. I remarked that it sounded like the Ihub board.
It was greeted with knowing chuckles of approval!
(The meeting was about administrative matters dealing with 'self-provisoning' capabilities being added to the Go800 web site.)
"Not sure if this has been discussed, but I'm guessing they are a paying customer..."
No need to guess. I am confirming that they are a paying customer for those two brands and for a partial Brand by Area code program 'test' that is well underway.
Commissions for that sale will be direct deposited in my checking account today, 45 days after billing, as promised by Go800.
"...then read about the company they have hired to make this a mobile app."
I think that is a balanced and well thought out assessment of where we are now with this Web App, and what has to happen to make it a downloadable App with an icon.
Meanwhile we can await the wider availability of voice to text technology and watch as the advertising for it further drives texting.
3.) Voice to text on T-Mobile MYTOUCH phone.

"Sources tell me MEGA news is due out tomorrow,..."
Don't even think of continuing with that kind of crap on this board.
And the rest of you don't dignify it by calling for 'proof'.
You've all seen this kind of post before.
"(that is what the poo means)
(kinda like "da $h1t")"
Yeah, as we've seen ambiguity, irony, satire and slang ALWAYS are more readily understood than clarity is on this board!

Kmart Sues Rain Man for Slander Over “Kmart Sucks!” Comment
By Chad Haskell • Jul 1st, 2009 • Section: Movies
Hoffman Estates, IL – In what is sure to become a very high profile case, Kmart, a subsidiary of the Sears Holding Corporation, has filed a lawsuit against Raymond “Rain Man” Babbitt.
The company claims that after “Rain Man”, the 1988 documentary film about Babbit’s life in which he uttered the words “Kmart sucks”, their stock and sales headed into a downward spiral. They claim this spiral resulted in a loss of revenue, continually poor stock performance, the closure of many of its retail stores, and its eventual takeover by Sears Holding Corporation.
A Kmart employee, who wished to remain anonymous, said, “Our founder, Sebastian S. Kresge would have rolled over in his grave if he would have heard all the offensive things that window licker said about the company he [Kresge] worked so hard to build.”
As stated in the lawsuit filed last Friday by the firm Bendini, Lambert and Locke, acting attorney Mitch McDeere said, “Raymond Babbitt slandered Kmart locally, nationally and worldwide when he uttered those now famous words and our company’s performance has suffered ever since.”
Protests outside the Walbrook Hospital where Babbitt resides remained relatively peaceful as laid-off former Kmart employees gathered carrying signs that read “Raymond is a Card Counter” and “Who’s on first?”. However, things escalated slightly when patients at the hospital started chanting “Hot water burn baby!” and hurling smoke detectors at the crowd of former employees.
Raymond Babbitt was not available for comment because he was out driving slow on the driveway. However, his representative, who wished only to be referred to as “Vern” had this prepared statement: “Raymond, who only heard about this frivolous lawsuit on 97X, BAM!! The Future of Rock and Roll, feels he definitely is not at fault for the substandard quality in Kmart’s products over the years and plans to file a counter suit. Furthermore, Raymond would like to go on record and say that he only buys his size 32 Hanes boxer shorts from the Kmart located at 400 Oak St. in Cincinnati.”
Vern also said that Mr. Babbitt will be recording this lawsuit in his red book as a “serious injury” and is looking forward to bringing his case before Wapner.
"APPL is not ticker AAPL is ticker!"
Exactly. APPL is the reserved and functioning, paid for OR otherwise, 'brand'. As such it is not area code dependent.
It was so reserved to distinguish it from the generic 'apple'.
'ID Supermoney'
'Up there' all you'll be able to do, either with the HTC if available or the Android app, is demo the increased ease of texting while articulating about the phone call that will result when Go800 arrives.
Yeah, Doone and I work together...more and more. Send em along!

The myTouch 3G Slide introduces T-Mobile’s Genius Button™ built on Nuance’s intuitive speech platform. The first of its kind the Genius Button provides consumers one-button voice access to control the phone and its features including many of the mobile applications they use most – making calls, sending emails and text messages, searching the Web, finding businesses and directions, and much more.
The phone incorporates a revolutionary, pervasive voice interface that works right out of the box – no apps to download, no premium download fees or recurring monthly charges for use of the voice interface. Nuance’s successful Dragon Dictation is also embedded on the smartphone for fast and easy text dictation in any text field, and includes a convenient text-to-speech powered feature for readback of incoming messages.
Nuance-powered voice-enabled features on the phone include:
Genius Button: An easy-to-access button on the front of the new T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide allowing the use of voice commands to control the phone. The button is enabled via Nuance’s intuitive speech technology that takes advantage of advancements in natural language understanding to allow users to say an entire command in just one shot – making it faster and easier to use their favorite applications and services. For example, just say:
§ “Call Alex Jones at Home.”
§ “Send Text to John Smith. I’ve got tickets to the Dodgers game tonight, you in?”
§ “Search for Recipes for Chocolate Cake.”
§ “Find Sushi Restaurants near me”
§ “Find Directions to 1 Wayside Drive, Burlington, Massachusetts.”
§ “Show me the Calendar”
§ And more.

The result is faster and more accurate results that are optimized for the individual device.
Through the Genius Button users can also activate a feature that uses Nuance’s text-to-speech technology to read incoming email and text messages when reading them manually isn’t convenient. When the feature is enabled users are alerted when a message is received, and can advise verbally whether or not they want it read aloud, and if they’d like to respond.
Dragon Dictation: The myTouch 3G Slide features Dragon Dictation to easily and quickly speak your text up to five times faster in any text field, regardless of whether it’s an email, text message, calendar, Twitter application or Web browser. Dragon Dictation leverages the core speech technology found in the renowned PC-based Dragon NaturallySpeaking dictation software.
“In partnering with Nuance, a leader in speech technology, we’ve been able to create a new experience which makes it easier for our customers to stay connected with the important people in their lives,” said Andrew Sherrard, vice president, product development, T-Mobile USA. “Our consumers now have the ability to easily and quickly communicate with their favorite people through text and e-mail with the push of one button and the sound of their voice.”
Michael Thompson, senior vice president and General Manager, Nuance Mobile said, “We believe the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide’s speech capabilities are perhaps the most innovative examples of how speech will elevate the mobile experience. T-Mobile is truly taking advantage of our connected and embedded natural language capabilities to bring an incredibly unique Android device and one-of-a-kind consumer experience to market. Now T-Mobile consumers have one-button, one-shot speech access for messaging, finding directions, accessing information on the Web – and it’s all available right out of the box.”
The MyTouch 3G Slide also features MyAccount 3.0 powered by Nuance Mobile Care, which provides users with the ability to easily access and manage account information directly from their phone. In fact, users can even open MyAccount right from the Genius Button, making it even faster and simpler for users to get real-time information about their account.
Availability
The T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide is expected to be available in June, exclusively from T-Mobile USA in three colors- black, white or red. Customers can visit http://mytouch.t-mobile.com/ for more information.

"If one of the names listed is big, we might see a positive effect on the PPS"
More intriguingly, if a company has popped for the trading symbol how hard would it be to move to a brand contract.
There is no evidence of such a move as yet by Apple, either in their ads or on their contacts page. However they certainly like 800 vanity numbers, which should make for an easy transition!
http://www.apple.com/contact/
"What do you make of Apple on service??
Tickers have to be paid for correct??"
Yes, as far as I know Ike is NOT conducting trials with ticker symbols. Hope he secured $25K in Apple stock!
"I think we were told only ones that are on are paying!!!"
Time for a refresher. No one was ever 'told' that companies that have 'live' key words are necessarily paying. Trials continue, and Ambassador discretion rules as to when a trial must end and when a contract is required. As you can easily imagine the company doing the trial has the leverage in this 'dance'.
"I think we all have most certainly learn this with President Obama teaching all that the INTELLECT he possess is no substitute for WISDOM."
You must have been in hog heaven, and as quiet and acquiescent as a mouse pissing on cotton, when we had a President who possessed neither intellect NOR wisdom.
"if they leased SUMOTEXT from go800, their customers could text SUMOTEXT to 46800 and be connected immediately."
Funny how a company with an alleged "...call back feature" would omit any mention of that fact, let alone not be urging people to use it to connect with them.
So, are you going to reserve 'sumotext' or should I? I mean just for the sport of it! "Give your customers an easy way to reach you to opt out of what have to be an extremely annoying barrage of marketing text messages..."
"IMO go800 is a shared short code with a call back feature. there are other companies that offer this feature. one such company is sumotext. therefore i believe if the patent was approved it would immediately be challenged in court due to prior art."
You're at least the second poster today to assert something that has no factual basis. The first poster assumed that a collective 4 year news blackout had kept the 'Asian version' of Go800 from reaching the newsmedia of the rest of the world.
Your misinformation just completely misses the point that there is no 'text to connect/speak' capability for the sumotext service and that it's an opt in marketing tool. Inserting 'IMO' and 'JMO'
doesen't relieve you of the responsibility for posting this kind of nonsense.

"Why would then Mr Fu a Chinese investor invest in this company if it was already in Asia??"
Precisely. Additionally not a single article that has appeared About G0800, including the most recent in the NY Times, has referenced the service as being anything but new.
http://www.ecommercetimes.com/story/69945.html?wlc=1278863395
At no point in this article do you read anything like "Ike is reworking a concept that has been in use for over four years throughout Asia." Surely there would have been numerous stories about such a service, particularly when it was allegedly launched in Asia?
"(I'm not claiming this is true; it's only an example). How do you think that goes over with the NAACP?...Just a guess but I'd think the NAACP would stay away from Go800 like the plague.'
It gets out that Ike is a vegetarian. I'm S.O.L. signing up: http://beef.org/ or any steak houses!
However we remain free to 'raise a beef' on this board.
Time for lunch in Chicago!
"Because 300 keyword not necessarily equal to 100k. they could be 100 brands and 200 generic which would be like $30k + 200($100 average) = $50k"
The odds that the Generics would average out to $100 are slim and none, and we know who just left town.
773 in Chicago is $309/mo. Most major city area codes, alone or in combo, will exceed $200/mo.
