Just what I thought!
A buying opp.
I went cash today in my ST port, so I'll be looking to buy tomorrow.
Thanks, Bull.
I don't really follow it.
But
I'll say this:
They make great compact flash cards and digital photography isn't even in the middle of the "S" curve yet.
There's good growth to go there.
I'm not sure what else CF cards are used for.
But photography is a multi-BILLION dollar industry.
I sure wouldn't short it here, not now.
I don't think you did, but that's JMHO.
I think were in for a pull back for a few days.
I think the BDH can hit close to 20 before a meaningful correction. Again, just my opinion.
Mike, just for the record, FWIW, I went to 100% cash in my short term account. I have a NICE profit in the last 2 weeks for I took them.
I'll be looking to re-enter tomorrow and Friday.
Nothing different in my LongTerm portfolio.
After my previous post to you this afternoon, I thought I should tell you my move.
I'm not going to post my trades all the time (I don't think anyone really cares anyhow) but I thought I show post this to you.
Good luck in your trading and/or investing.
Scott
Yes, thanks. On closer inspection, I doubt that we'll see 2.75 for any time soon.
I'll be watching it.
I think the markets are (have been since the last couple of days)starting the "intraday" corrections.
Many of the stocks I watch have had big swings between the highs and lows.
It's great if you can catch them right.
After my problems with BD Pro, I went with AVG.
I didn't have any problems with BD (free edition) though.
After the problem, I went with AVG Anti-virus because that's what he is using and he likes it.
I know, I know.
I will be a subscriber, soon.
I'm also thinking of subscribing to Dent's newsletter.
If it goes to 2.75 (or even close) I'm buying.
Thank you for the chart.
"for whatever reason when I buy something it usually drops,..."
Hey, it's just not you, it happens to me, too!
And your post got cut-off again. This is all I can see at the bottom of your post:
"warning: all I can do or will do on this thread is post what I am doing and thinking. You have to handle your own portfolio and your own various pressure and factors. From having read every single post on this thread, I think there are probably only a cou "
Anything look good today?
Or are you in a "holding pattern"?
I'm holding a few and have lots of cash on hand.
I'm big on broadband stocks, that's why I like the BDH.
I don't own any of it, nor have I in the past.
But I will buy it at some point.
Probably after I think the market has correct for a little bit.
Maybe sometime in Feb.
Borealis, you're not alone.
I ran BitDefender on my HP and it ran fine.
However, when I ran BitDefender PRO, it F***ed up my computer and I had a hell of a time correcting the problem. It wouldn't re-boot.
I finally was able to run it in "safe mode" (after 3 tries at this) and make my way to "System Restore" and "turn back" my system to an earlier date.
By the way I have an HP 7905, WinXP Home Edition , P4 1.6 Ghtz and 512 MB RAM.
Mike, if I may:
Wahz is just sharing his wisdom and insights with us.
The stocks in the header are the ones he likes for this bull run we're in (Now ti about 2008-09).
It's up to the viewer to decide if WAHZ knows what he's talking about.
It's up to the viewer to decide what stocks to buy (and when to sell).
Wahz is only telling us what he likes and why he likes them.
Here's my approach:
I have a short term portfolio and a long term portfolio.
My short term port I trade fairly often
My long term, I only trade when something drastic happens to a stock (such as NENG, recently, for example).
Here's my advice for someone who doesn't want to trade a lot:
Buy the BDH and hold till 2008 or 2009.
I hope this was helpful.
Scott
SCMR had been a laggard recently, hasn't it.
And when the total is wrong, will they give you a free item, like K-Mart used to?
Hey, maybe that's what dragged them down! ;')
EVERYONE: Up-date your copy of AD-AWARE 6.0 if you haven't done so today.
AD-AWARE hadn't been finding anything lately, but this new up-date today caught 7 "things".
One being "VX2.Betterinternet" that is a data-miner. It's tough to get rid of.
Ad-Aware advised me to re-boot and run the program again.
On re-boot, AdAware started running. It didn't find anything, so I ran it again, and that's when it found the "VX2.Betterinternet" file.
Scott
Edit: Bruce, that's probably where those damn mortgage pop-ups kept coming from. Those were a bitch.
I'm assuming you're listening to the AMCC conference call.
Sounds good to me so far. Margins are healthy and are expected to stay strong.
Not pulling a NENG here.
Think there will be up-grades tomorrow?
Actually, they'll wait til Thursday. They'll buy like hell first.
Got it! Thank you. eom.
What is RFID?
Thanks,
Scott
"but manh hasn't moved yet"
Do you see that as a 10 bagger?
That would put it around 280.00
I bought MANU @ 8.71 this morning. I like the chart.
No overhead till about 22.40!
A buying opp. eom.
"so I can't think of a reason why it should be different now...other than I wish it would:>("
Actually, I'd like to have a pull back after Jan or Feb because I'll have A LOT of cash to invest. This investment will be buy and hold for the long term and any changes will be because of a fundy change with the direction of the company (Neng is a good example why I may make a change).
But hey, I'm doing great in my ST port so it's a win-win situation for me. I'm enjoying this!
Thanks again for your thoughts and insights,
Scott
Thanks for the up-date. I think I speak for everyone here when I say we appreciate your insights.
No, but I do go to Toronto about once a year.
"Menwhile, I'm seeing a mixed picture on my holdings today, even though the pre-market was astonishingly positive.
I was thinking, in the Pre Market, that I was happy to be alive this day. I hope I feel the same way when it's bedtime."
Well, Pre-market was so strong this morning, I guess this weakness should be expected.
I'm looking for the market to re-group and push higher later this afternoon.
We'll see.
Oh, a MANHATTEHITE, eh!
You're right.
Go to the beginning of the DOW: draw a trend line from day one to Friday's close.
Now, SEE THAT TREND? It's up, isn't it.
So, yeah, eventually we'll get there.
Rens, Here, shoot the messenger:

I'm using Zone Alarm firewall for my desktop.
Later in the week, I'll have my wireless network up and running (I hope!) and I'm going to use ZoneAlarm firewall on my notebook, too.
So far, I have no complaints with ZA firewall.
For anti-virus, I'm running the free version of AVG.
www.grisoft.com
If I may, I too recommend a firewall.
Try ZoneAlarm ,it's free.

"dent and me and neelly looking for 100k"
Hi Chief,
When are looking for 100k on the DOW/
Certaily not by 2009.
Are you looking out to 2025 or so?
Thanks,
Dieselfuel
I can't wait!

"Don’t eitherLOLya did fine:))) but based on that post, you can't hide the fact you checked her out:) "
LOL! Maybe he's her gynocologist!
"...even if she is ....naughtier."
That makes it even better!
Yes. eom
What do you think about this for the NAS:
Going to around 2300.
Going sideways, with a slight up trend bias.
No real correction (maybe only, say, 5%) but have quite a few days of INTRA day swings of 2 or more %.
A rolling correction, if you will.
Does this sound viable?
"'m really lousy at picking price targets, but I'll take a wild stab and say somewhere between 11 and 16."
Hey, if the markets are strong next week, we could very easily see 11 on AMCC. That's only two points.
That's just one company.
Let the Nay-sayers keep naying.
I'll keep buying.
Gee, thanks for the SPAM.
You can never get enough of the shit. Right?
Jobs are on the way.
It's just a matter of time before this economy REALLY gets cooking!
