Anyone else care to share?
This is interesting and has me thinking about the repost that Liquidmetal did on their Linkedin page yesterday of a case study for a clamp that was for a "confidential" customer and was about to go into production. The study was back in 2013. I find it odd that they would re-release it. In my mind it reinforces them not being able to close a deal, so why do it???
Thanks!
Is there significance to them misspelling the name? Regardless isn't Vit(vitreloy) a trade marked name of Liquidmetal?
.1559 here. Definitely averaged down over time, and hopefully will have another opportunity to do so.
Then I think to myself...at this point in time we are either going to prove ourselves OR we are going to prove ourselves so maybe I don't want another opportunity to average down.
Volume sure has been low the last few days. I guess everyone is being very cautious...
Is this the fist time the technology (use of Engel's machine) will be showcased publicly, live outside a closed environment? If so I think it helps repair credibility.
Hey Tony (or anyone else for that matter)
Do you know if Applied is already running Engel machines in their facility?
Thanks!
THanks!Sorry, I didn't catch the update before i submitted. I'm sure the seasoned LQMT investors have done quite a bit of DD on this angle, trying to determine if Engel is/will/have be producing/produce/produced that many machines. Seems like a big feat to do without attention.
THanks! I know you don't like to comment on Apple Sauce but are you able to comment on the first part of my question?
Does anyone know how many Engel machines it would require to mass produce for one of Apple's product lines? How long does it take for Engel to produce 1 e-motion machine?
Great Point! It's nice having another entity with a vested interest advertising the technology.
Same here. Still researching China EV market. Appears to have a lot of potential on the surface.
There also seems to be this double standard of fact and opinion. When the opinion supports certain peoples agenda then it's "astute", "insightful", "an opinion grounded in fact" BUT when it does not support then it's "unicorn" "fantasia" "unrealistic" "dreamer"
The ironic thing here is the latter tend to be the characteristics of the inventors that create the technology that we hope to make money on.
I need to jump off my soap box now and take my little ones outside to enjoy what's probably the last cool weekend here in AZ!!
P.S. I still value both sides of the argument and appreciate the time everyone takes here. ( I know I'm talking out of both sides of mouth)
In my experience, not listening to and valuing diversity of thought is short sighted and it stunts personal growth. From what I've seen the group of regulars here are far to intelligent to be the former so that leads me to believe that this is a calculated effort. Call me crazy but that's my opinion.
I am long on LQMT and hope to pick up some more shares on the next dip
I feel like you are both right and I also think there is a VERY concerted/calculated effort to suppress any positive or forward looking statements of opinions.
I'm thinking it's something tied to the USPS bid.
Triple the volume today...Something up???
Not sure if anyone really follows this stock here
As the clock ticks....is right. They need to advertise that bad boy and strike while iron is hot!!
I wonder if Miltner has an NDA in place with us that doesn't all allow us to release a picture of the production knife?
Is the size of the knife on the high end of the Engel's capability?
Not anytime soon...and certainly not for an iphone 6s/7 to be released this year or next. GTAT has an RFP out for the removal of their furnaces at the Mesa plant. There are still 4000 sapphire furnaces sitting idle that need to be decommissioned and moved by the end of the year per an agreement with APPLE. I seriously doubt that it can be accomplished in that time frame by a company cash strapped in bankruptcy.
Aren't we directly linked to and supported by Apple???
That eplains it. Thx for posting! Wish it was something substantial.
Nice little jump and volume is higher than yesterday with no news. I wonder what gives?
I think you are right on point here:
" I don't believe he would do that unless he believed that orders could be fulfilled. "
That's what I'm hoping (that word again) for!!!
Typically, (not always) VP level employees get bonused on company/individual performance and not commission per deal. I could be completely off base with his comp plan.
Whew....not sure I could have handled having another negative nelly, thx for having a change I heart! Now let's see what kind of week we have.
Not just entertainment for me, I have learned a tremendous amount from this board and from everyone on both sides and it's much appreciated!
Fairly new to the board here. From my perspective both sides sling sheet back and forth pretty consistently. It's been rather entertaining reading. Watts with his pessimism (grounded in fact of course)and gorgol with his optimism ( not ground at all, yes, there's a pun to be made). Going to stop with those two prolific posters, but each side has a handful. What funny about it is at the end of the day we all want the EXACT same thing, granted at different times because of various positions and strategies.
Overall I'm excited about what I heard on the CC, not excited about the fundamentals but hey...
Will this get deleted??
I am going to start by saying that I continue to increase my position and average down BUT Wow...That graph really paints a picture...
Watts,
What about LQMT made you invest initially?
Not from me...I don't know what it means. It can be good or bad. I'm still trying to wade through the murky water that this stock/company is that i have bought into haphazardly...(disclaimer...do not take investment advice from me)
Who's spinning this as a positive?
hmmmm.Does someone know something we don't? that's a large order! (relatively speaking)
Holy sheet people!!!
How on earth were you projecting any revenue??!! Last week we had zero parts producing (based on no material events reported. Thanks for the lesson Watts), the week before no production, a month ago no production, 3,4,5 months ago no production. How on Earth are WE (shareholders) expecting revenue last quarter?? I am not an accountant but I know when you produce zero you make zero. They basically told us that they are building POTENTIAL customer prototypes for free (hopefully at least at cost) and they will make up that difference during full scale mfg.
Tony,
I completely agree, at this point look through the windshield not the rear view mirror. I am very excited about Medical Device! BUT I have scoured my resources searching for ISO certification and/or FDA material Substitutions info on Applied Medical and have run into many dead ends. My search will continue!
I am will continue to be long and will pick up more shares when it drops!
Another twist that comes to mind from my expereince is that when a whale (customer) falls off the harpoon line (ahem Apple) you better darn well ramp up your sales funnel....Foreshadowing....
My hope (there's that word again) is that the "Tactical" contracts make way for the big three he mentioned.
Like Watts said, nothing other than "Tactical" for the remainder of the year.
The good news is that i will be picking up somes shares on the cheap!
I have been a sales professional for 15 years and the one certainty i know is that activity breeds productivity and from the sounds of it the activity has sky rocketed. The measurement will be what does this activity produce??
