Recently you wrote that there'd need to be a gap up this morning, as former call sellers would need to buy back to close.
That didn't appear to happen. Do you have an opinion about why?
Regards,
rr
Motor vehicles are great for taking you and you bike to great places to ride!!
rr
Foot,
I ride my bike wearing padded shorts so the toys don't get pounded too bad, bright jerseys because they can be seen, and a helmet.
Not because of car strikes rider opportunities, but because of rider hits head on ground stuff. I've fallen off bikes at speeds from zero to 35 mph. The zero one is embarrassing. In every case, the brain bucket took the shot, not my pointy little head.
Just sayin' ...
rr
NM,
Thanks. I really appreciate the stuff you share.
rr
Ajtj99,
Here's Neutral Man's take.

His style is interesting, but his explanation of market mechanics has my attention.
Dunno about highs all day, though. Would not surprise me.
hhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm ... maybe not short early am ...

I've been to Germany a few times, but I only got to drive on the Autobahn once.
It was after dark. We had a rental BMW, me driving, my boss in the back seat. There was a light fog.
I don't remember the length of the drive - probably 30 minutes or so. I averaged about 200 kph, and the car was sweet.
The two outstanding memories were my boss' big eyes as he watched the speedometer, and having other cars overtake me and go screaming - and I mean farking rocket ship movin' - past me into the oncoming fog. Oh my goodness.
Ah, German beds, food, TV ... what a wonderful place to visit.
Thanks for the memories.
rr
ps: I'll still be way short before 10:11am Monday morning.
Well ...
1) 30 minutes of wild time at the open, and then maybe the second burst up, is usually over by 10:11am. 1 minute charts, remember?
2) My morning mastication goes from usually 7:20 to 7:45, unless it's just an over protein'ed fruit yogurt smoothie. In which case, there's little mastication.
3) Kinda personal for a guy who collects PPT dimes and pink plastic ponies, don't 'cha think ?
rr
I think you made an excellent case for being short, and you might want to throw in % over 50, McC stuff, and others, and it is my every intention to be short before 10:11am monday morning.
BUT:
- The public reads the news, and does their allocations over the weekend.
- A solid week of up is 'time to invest'.
- Happy talk everywhere (op cit CNBC).
- P&F shows a poke over resistance.
Down at close, pop on open. Gotta go down to go up to go down (NM theme song!) ...
I'll try to remember to let you know how it works out.
rr
I almost agree with JO, and I expect a spike up on Monday morning. At least, that's what I'm counting on to get short again.
Those 1 minute charts are something to watch. Hope I'm available!
So, good luck with your BGZ, after Monday at 10:10am or so
rr
Good luck.
I sold mine at the close.
Have a great weekend.
rr
Me, too, but I mean the BGZ stuff, not the 3-somes.
I'm saving myself for the pony. Or, maybe, ... never mind.
rr
MFB,
Thanks for the reply.
If you ever come across a system that does it automagically, please let me know.
You'll be able to tell when I'm really serious about it, because I'll be looking for advice on trading systems.
Have a great weekend,
rr
Well, you've lots of 8's and 7's in your post, but no 5's. Go fish.
Next options expiration date is 15 May, yes?
You did not mention any of the pivots under 887.88 to be tagged. How come?
And, one last, how'd you play this morning?
Cheerio,
rr
Check.
If that doesn't work, I'll show the whiskey bottles and real bikes.
Failing that, I'll let loose the Chihuahua and the Shiatsu.
rr
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
And, what route?
:-?
rr
Oh my, PnF, JO, and religion, all in one post, from a person who's screen name includes the word "prophet".
Excellent combo!!
Soon, the frogs will start to fall from the sky
TGIFF,
rr
JO,
You know what your chart looks like ...
Here's mine
Very vanilla.
I suspect it is the pro account difference. I'll look into it at DWA.
Thank you for the reply.
rr
Jerry,
My DWA charts are very vanilla compared to yours. No links on mine for the distributions, momemntum, et al.
How'd you get that to happen?
TIA,
rr
A very long time ago, my good friends at McKinsey and Co. taught me two (well, more, but here ...) very valuable things.
First, the quote: "Yeah, but if we're so smart, why do the guys at Goldman have all the money?"
Second, the lesson: If the future you anticipate requires someone to run a 2 minute mile, you better get a different opinion about the future.
I'm looking to find my 2 minute mile assumptions. And, I want to acquire a trading setup, after I blow this chicken coop, that does the work for me. Or at least makes it easy.
Must say, I'm very pleased that I could explain myself well enough to almost make your head explode. Ah, the power of math ...
rr
To any of you techy traders,
Do any of the trading apps (TradeStation, et al) have the ability to generate technical signals based on future rate / change of prices?
For example, if I want to know the possible circumstances in time / price change when today's 60-min full stoch 21,13,5 on the SPX cross above 80 (as x bars at price change y% / bar), is that easy / hard / confusing?
I'm interested in something that can show me technical indicators over a frontier of price change rates.
Anybody?
Thx,
rr
My laptop playground is a Mobile AMD Semperon 3400 (1.8GHz). That's the one with the SSD. Runs Win 7 great.
My desktop playground is a 3.0 P4, with slow 80GB ATA drives. Runs Win 7 great but your can hear the drives rumble.
No prob, Boss. iHub isn't the best real time trading platform for me while I'm at work.
I took the money and ran. making my nut is one thing. Making 10x my nut, I'm so gone. Cash is good.
Thanks.
Hey T,
Great stuff. I've got a folder full ...
Thanks,
rr
I'm too lazy to go get my Win 7 wish list from NewEgg, but it's somewhere around $1400.
Big difference that I see is that I do not need more storage, so I have an Intel 80GB SSD. I'm only using about 40GB on my Raptor150 boot drive now, I've already got a 1TB WD Black, and I'm very impressed with what a low cost SSD did with my Hcrap Compaq laptop.
To the point where I'm thinking about just putting an SSD in my current XP box when Win 7 shows up. I think it'll feel new enough.
rr
Oh my, I leave for an hour meeting ... what have you done?
I should stay away more often.
Cracked 1350. Wonder if it'll hold?
rr
Let's see ... ajtj99, amos, andy, sybil ...
4 down, 12 to go.
TeaParty would short you, if the OEX confirmed the count.
Regards,
rr
Kind of itchy trigger finger, if you ask me ...
Of course, if your balls are on fire, well, then, I understand.
It Friday yet?
rr
Maybe you could just trade for me ... ?
Back to powerpoint ...
rr
Well, thank you for waking me up. I'm getting to like this CrackBerry thing.
Thanks.
rr
Dude, I've got bad news.
First, I don't really know where Bob Marley is at this moment.
Second, I'm sure that, if I did as you suggest, Bob wouldn't mind. Damn, he'd probably understand.
Third, he's probably getting tired of being whipsawed on 1 and 5 minute charts, too.
Except, that he's dead. So, he probably works at Goldman Sachs.
Back to excel ...
sorry, sometimes I'm in TLA overload.
BWTFDIK,
YMMV
Why no ganja at work?
rr
AFM ?
aw, fark me
any found money
??
We couldn't pay for it when Bush 1, 2, or Clinton were president either.
But now, we've got a White House garden and swing set.
OK, I'm good.
rr
Maybe instead of people saying that they're unsure about the future, we should ask for a coin measure ...
I'm within two loonies on this call.
This is good within a quarter or two.
I'm exact to the dollar, but I'm not saying which country.
You know, something financial!
I am so out for the day ...
rr
And He said ...
He added: "It will take time to undo the damage of years of carve-outs and loopholes. But I want every American to know that we will rewrite the tax code so that it puts your interests over any special interest. And we will make it quicker, easier, and less expensive for you to file a return, so that April 15 is not a date that is approached with dread each year."
And I finished:
"So, whatever you made, just send it in. No muss, no fuss, no uncertainty. Have a nice day."
Well, the pun's terrible, but the call's good.
Why not the candle just before? It was south of the 1x1 line. Need a red one?
Thanks,
rr
portable hand drill, 3/8" wood bore, slow speed, through the shoulder joint.
Now, that's entertainment.
Oh, you meant MY hand ... how would I type?
Think I'll just stick to whipsaws for now.
Thanks for the $2B ...
rr
after having been stopped out of the last 6 trades, I'm starting to think you're right.
hope isn't a strategy, but on www, it's a tactic?
back to the day job ... boo hiss.
rr
T,
ack. not live, stuck here kind of working for this living.
soon, though. enough of this, and I can collect unemployment.
Jake,
Good luck. In my former employ with a former photo giant, I've known lots of people, who had to leave, and after they left, uniformly they were happier after than before.
There's just that really tight squeeze before you pop out, I guess. That too shall pass.
Best to you and yours.
