Thanks for the info SH. I hope all investors do their own due dillegence. While I do not agree with CEOcast ways, I do appreciate their ability to give Investors and potential investors much needed information regarding the company (even though it may be mostly biased) Andrew has been much more helpful to me then Tim ever was. Calypte can't afford some stand out Investment Relations firm. Hey SH, how come you never answered my previous question?
Do you want some cheese with that?
I guess we now know when Cato bought in and why he's still upset. Should have been averaging in lower.
I don't believe the Salem group is a distributor. They are more of a resale company in terms of Calypte's product. I believe the test the Bin Salem groups sells were actually sold to them by J&G.
It appears as though J&G are no longer Calypte's distributors in the UAE region. They must feel as though, with their new office in the ME, they can sell the products themselves. I'm basing this on the fact that Calypte's products are no longer listed on J&G's website and J&G is no longer listed as a distributor on Calypte's website.
Is it really our worry? You seem to be the one so concerned with it. May I ask why? Simply here to help us all out and be our Hero? I'm just curious, thanks in advance.
While I do agree with your posts about sales, its really obsolete to me and to most of us here. We are investors/traders and want to make money. The potential is here, the product is here, the market is there...Can Calypte produce - time will tell. I think most of us here are willing to be patient and give them a chance. Granted I won't be around long if sales don't develope in the near future (over the next year)
Good Luck P Daddy... I was brave enough to keep buying all the way down. Calypte still has a lot of obstacles to overcome.
Alright! The day traders are here. They're always good for a quick little jump. Go tell all your day trading friends.
I don't know the exact reason, obviously it has to do with the cost of manufacturing the test and the science behind it. It may cost more, but I believe the oral test is more cost-effective, which is what really matters. Are you trying to get at something?
AXIOM INTERESTING THAT ONCE THE DISTRIBUTOR GOT CALYPTE APPROVED IN INDIA THAT CALYPTE'S RESPONSE WAS TO DUMP THE DISTRIBUTOR FOR A BIGGER AND BETTER DISTRIBUTOR. REALLY CONFIDENCE INSPIRING TO DEAL WITH CALYPTE ISN'T IT. ---> Strickly business, kinda shady though I admit.
IN ADDITION IT APPEARS THERE IS TROUBLE IN RUSSIA. RAPID ORAL APPROVED IN RUSSIA BUT RUSSIA WON'T LET THEM SELL IT? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? ---> Sounded like Russia left the Calypte test off of a specified list, it has now been added and should be cleared for sale.
ALSO
ROGER SAID THAT THE USAID APPROVAL WAS THE FIRST TIME THEY HAD ACCESS TO FUNDS FROM USAID. DID HE FORGET THAT THE RAPID BLOOD TEST HAS BEEN ON THE USAID approved LIST FOR OVER A YEAR. APPARENTLY SO. ---> Agreed, I think they've given up on competeing with their blood test.
Good News is that this interview only cost Calypte $ 280. Much better than the amount they pay CEOcast for their "coverage".
They are making some make or break strides though and trying to position themselves all over the world. In my opinion, its only a matter of time before the Aware OMT starts to bring in some revenue. They are in a much better position now then they were two years ago.
Just a few things I recall after a quick listen:
-Have moved into new headquarters in U.S.
-Office in Geneva has opened
-In final works with new partnership with Large Distributor in India (current distributor is too small)
-Meet with China officials a few times a month, "could receive approval any where from 2 weeks to 2 months"
-Possibilites of expandeding into South America and SE Asia eventually
Take a listen.
Your daily posts are overly repititous and vague. If you have a problem with management/operations, simply state it and lets have a dicussion - as we are now. To answer your question, yes I'm looking to unload my shares at some point in the future...its called trying to make money. However, I'm not in away trying to ignore the negatives and pump the positives. What do you want Calypte to do? Pretty sure you had a chance to call in and ask about the new employees production? Always busy during the conference calls, weird. My point is that for a .18 stock, calypte does a pretty decent job at keeping shareholders up to date and provides opportunities for investors to ask questions. Move on to some other stocks in this range and see how they work.
He can steal a page out of your book - Have no position and still be apart of the Soap.
He quoted himself as saying "immediate impact". Who knows, maybe he has made that impact in some areas where the test has been approved. Again, you claim all this BS from the company, yet you are still here. Sell and leave, its time to grow up.
Not sure how you can judge an employee hired for Sales and Marketing in a country that has yet to have anything to sell. Judge his "immediate impact" after (if) the test is approved in China.
Great posts again Cato, way to provide insightful discussion. What are you priced in at with this stock? Just wondering at what point we can see you out of here.
From the SEC filing....
Roger said:
"With me on the call today are Dr Ron Mink, our Chief Scientific Officer, who has recently returned from China, Rick Brounstein, Executive Vice President and Jerry Dotson, Vice-President Finance."
Do you think he was lying? They were there, just didn't speak at all.
Thanks Linda, she failed to mentioned that blood test also need to have a confirmatory test. Therefore the two test appear to be equal in that sense.
okay good, that's what I thought. The aritcle was a little confusing.
Thanks for the interesting reading material. A couple thoughts:
What is the Calypte Vanguard test?
http://www.calypte.com/IMAGES/omt1.jpg
Did I miss something? Is this just an old name?
Also, it was stated that Oral test results are considered Preliminary and require confirmatory testing with a Elisa or Western Blot test. Is this true? What would be the point of taking the oral test, if you had to take a blood test along side it no matter what? Maybe you only need to confirm the oral test if it comes back positive?
Ideas/thoughts???
Cato, maybe you can for once actually provide some insight and dicussion instead of your typically useless drivel.
I understood it as having $440,000 in revenue since the end of June. However, my media player kept cutting in and out and it was not entirely clear - good chance I heard wrong.
Stealing Orasure contracts...very niiice.
You said "I think its more then just USAID"
Are you implying that the SEC was not willing to grant the application because they were aware of something "big" happening with the company and therefore these PIPE investors shouldn't be allowed to sell their shares? Seems like it almost implies that it could be bad news. What are your deductions from your link? Trying to figure out how these correlate.
sorry Concop, didn't work. Can you try posting a new link.
At some point in 2003, this stock went up 1500% or so in matter of a few business weeks. I guess my point is, even though its four years later, there is still a strong interest in this company and its possible developments. I think a lot of investors have been waiting on the sidelines regarding this company/stock and are simply waiting for a positve change/direction in the company. Perhaps this could be it, perhaps not. Dependent on the news, I wouldn't be surprised to see 10+ million shares traded tomorrow. Really looking forward to not so much the news, but the conference call and how well they "hype" their development.
Here's the interesting thing. When IR was contacted circa August 15th. They stated: There will be a conference call in the next 2 or 3 weeks, but it will not be a recap of 2nd qtr results. To me this implies that they have known about this "significant corporate developement" for over a month. So it it could be a partnership and they have been working out the details and finalization over the previous 4-6 weeks. Its definately something that has been in the making, not just an approval. My opinion only.
Please provide the calculation. Thanks.
Do you have a link to this?
oh Cato, always pessimistic. Debbie downer, you're that guy no one likes to hang out with. Sounds like GOOD news to me!!! I'll be loading up if the stock maintains its current prices.

There you go Cato, you can take that one of your list.
I don't think it means much. I've seen postings for jobs since spring of 2006 over in China. I think Calypte has always "anticipated approval in China soon" but anticipation and reality are two very different things. The cutoff, base on the process provided, is the end of September. If I don't hear anything by then, I'm out.
Great post Blood:
As you know, I have been one of the harshest critics of Calypte's management. However, even I see the positives at Calypte and hope that they can make a success of the company, more for the benefit of mankind, than just for the profits of a small OTC company owned primarily by foriegners.
Positives of Calypte
1. Have a rapid oral test that works. Tests and approvals in many countries have shown this to be true.
2. Calypte's rapid tests at this point have more approvals and seemingly a cheaper price than Orasure its only rival with an oral rapid test.
3. Rapid oral tests are safer than rapid blood tests, for both testors and testees.
4. The rapid oral tests are more efficient to process in most cases than rapid blood tests.
5. The tests have an 18 month shelf life, better than their competitors and long enough for overseas usages.
Calypte's biggest challenge will be to leverage these advantages into sales. So far the less costly rapid blood tests, also regarded internationally as the "gold standard test", have been the winner in just about all sales situation.
Things Calypte should do. (In my opinion)
1. Receive approval in Thailand of their rapid oral test. All of the rapid oral tests presently sold are manufactured in Thailand, by a contactor manufacturer. The fact that Thailand has not yet approved the test and seemingly that Calypte has not even applied for approval is a BLACK MARK on Calypte. This is especially bad because many countries will not approve a test that is not approved in country of mannufacture. So not having Thailand approval is also preventing approval in other countries. This would seem a simple thing to do, yet it hasn't been done. Yet.
2. Get WHO approval for their rapid oral tests. Many many countries buy their rapid HIV tests from the approved tests on the WHO bulk purchasing program. Calypte has not yet been added to this list. Why?
3. Approval in China of both the rapid oral test and the manufacturing plant. Even I am amazed that this hasn't occurred long ago.
4. Lower costs on rapid oral tests. Easier said than done I know, especially at low volume. However one must ask why rapid blood tests can be sold for $ .49 - $ .75 and rapid oral tests are sold for $ 1.50 - $ 5.00. What justifies the higher cost?
5. Find niche markets that can appreciate the increased safety and convenience of the oral test even at a slightly higher price. While obvious this has not yet materialized yet. (Hopefully the new hires and offices will help find these situations)
6. Have Roger Gale call Bill and Melinda Gates in nearby Seattle schedule a meeting with them and tell them the Calypte advantages and ASK them what Calypte could do to help eridicate HIV/AIDS worldwide with their products. Bill Gates, with his influence in the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, could do more for Calypte than any one single person in the world. Yet we have heard nothing about any efforts in that area.
In addition it would be nice to see Roger Gale and rest of the management team to limit their total combined salaries to no more than 25% of annual sales. This might convince investors and people like Bill Gates that the company is something more than a self enrichment "penny stock play" by management.
So in a nutshell.
Believe that Calypte has a product that works and is needed in worldwide effort to eradicate AIDS/HIV. YES.
Believe that management has failed to do mauch of what they could do to to make the oral test a success. YES
hahaha, I saw that. Looks like its back to normal.
Is there something wrong with you? Seems like you're always trying to make me look bad. My source?! My source should be your source. I already told you who I heard it from, its called IR. Maybe you should be contacting them instead of whining everyday on a message board.

If anyone can post the additional pages it would be greatly appreciated. I could only translate the first page...even though it looks like the discussion in multiple pages.

Wish it was a little better translated.
Have you emailed the contact in order to determine if they are using Calypte's OMT test? Orasure was also doing studies in India. Might be a good idea.

Looks like BMBPC, Ltd. recently attended an expo in China to showcase the Aware test.
Beijing MARR Bio -Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was established in Beijing in 2005 to bring the Aware™ OMT test to China. The company acquired manufacturing facilities in Huairou with a planned production capacity of up to 100 million HIV rapid tests per year and is in the process of registering the Aware™ OMT test in China.
Well its official, Cen is definately Linda B. Pretty obvious at this point. Hi Linda.
