lj: F They are buying 600? 800? dealers who won't sell EV's.
Ford is in trouble, as I predicted.
The American public does not want EV's forced on them.
Box Car Willie used to get across country faster than someone who drives an EV.
lj: DVN
I think DVN's dividend is variable in that they pay an "irregular" and a regular dividend. I own shares in my Roth, and didn't realize that when I purchased the stock. I bought DVN at $52. Not as bad as VTLE at $65, but bad, nonetheless.

lj: I wonder whether Lindsay Grahamnesty is over in Pakistan egging them on to do just that.
As Sen. McCain once sang, "Bomb, bomb, bomb,
bomb, bomb Iran".
lj: It looks like the big traders, or their algos, think BOIL should be at the 52-week low before it should be purchased. Down big-time again today. If it is down on Monday, I am going to buy more shares. It will not stay down permanently.
al44: If that story is true, it was quite a coincidence.
al44: I won't be giving the America Red Cross another red cent, though I haven't donated to them in years. Good to know.
al44: That was great! EOM
lj: "This market has no rotation to sectors
that can maintain unit movement in
slower periods..." You nailed it.
lj: I don't switch between KOLD and BOIL. After the KOLD reverse split, I was finished with it.
Are you buying REI? Just curious.
SSKILLZ1: HALO
Sold the February 18 $35 puts at $1.74. If put to me, the cost would be approximately $33.50, taking the commission into account. Not bad, imo.
SSKZILLZ1: HALO
I came here to discuss HALO and there was your post! Thank you for sharing the summary of rev and eps projections from the cc.
I bought my first lot at $38.02, so I'll be dollar-cost averaging down, meaning I bought too soon!
lj: BOIL
Jumped in too soon. I will add to the position if it goes down $2 more.
The race baiters are still pushing reparations:

The intent of the Marxists who are the puppeteers is to cause racism. Marxism 101--divide the social classes. In this case, races.

REI: Every dog has its day. Cannot bring myself to buy more shares!
lj: Obama gets to help Iran and feckless Joe takes the blame! By the way, they won't put the Houthis back on the terrorist watch list. Non-Orthodox Jewish Americans will overwhelmingly vote Democrat. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face!
lj: Positive but it won't help in this market, imo. Retail investors have a case of the blahs. JMO.
lj: It will be interesting to see whether the U.S. Postal Service goes forward with its plan to go EV by 2030.
lj: VTLE and XOM stuck in a rut, which is a good thing for VTLE. IMO, it shows some strength.
The entire market is going sideways. Negative reaction to Trump's victory in Iowa? IMO, that already was baked into the cake. The Houthis acting up? Rep. Mike Johnson doing a deal with Schumer to kick the can down the road 2 months?
That might be a strategic move on Johnson's part--the State of the Union is in March. Would the Dems want their President to take to the podium to give a rah-rah speech when the Government is shut down? If the economy was already slowing down, the weather isn't helping matters when people stay home. It isn't doing much for petrol sales, either. VLO on a downtick today, but nothing dramatic.
lj: Buying or selling the call?
BOIL: Seeing it down $5 and change, bought shares at $31.05 in afterhours trading. Don't expect to hold it long. NGAS prices jump around, so this might work out.
lj: Very good! I had forgotten about that.
lj: Double down on BOIL, hoping to blow out of the position in a few weeks? Thinks to ponder. Thank you.
lj: Buy DBO on Friday, perhaps. Risky.
It looks like the market is going to go sideways to down. The Houthis aren't helping matters.
NYBob: Here is the problem I see ahead, NYBob. When either Haley or DeSantis drops out, the survivor of the two will be a much stronger competitor of Trump. The big, Trump-hating PAC money will go to one person, instead of being divided as it is now. Vivek is backing Trump, but that is not a big contingent, and, to be honest, many of his followers might not like Trump.
New Hampshire is going to be a big test of Trump's durability. After listening to Nikki Haley give a presentation at a venue in Iowa,--to put it kindly, I am not impressed. I am beginning to understand the reason Trump calls her "birdbrain". Liberal women like her--they swear up and down they would not vote for anyone but a Democrat--but they like Haley. That tells U right there that she would stink on ice as President. JMO.
spec machine: It is worse than that. When I have time, I'll post about the new financial instrument that is being proposed that will lock down resources. We can fight it by commenting negatively on the proposed SEC regulation. Will get the details later this week and post them here.
P.S. I hope you are okay. Missed you here.
lj: The Houthis have doubled down on their threats, saying they are going after British and U.S. ships. I did tell, you, correct, that they have small torpedoes that look like groupers--you know, Vern, Houthis and the blowfish!
lj: It is quite the cold snap. Ask Iowans. Night temps here this week in the teens.
The commodity to watch is oil. The Houthis are determined to get the price up!
al44: Pul Milley and Fauci in the same cell! LOL!
Another cheap trick to buy votes, imo. Relief for deadbeats:

lj: The NFL is something else. Televising the Steelers game on Peacock is a slap in the face to fans. I hope that Travis and Taylor break up before next season.

Gmenfan: A REPUBLICAN Senator from Oklahoma, a Baptist minister no less, has turned out to be a first class rat.
He is negotiating with vile Sen. Shumer on the border and sending $68B more to---you guessed it--Ukraine.
My thought is that to do something like this, he is being blackmailed. Gay? Who knows. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Lankford
al44: It might be humorous, but it won't bring back the murdered deputy and the police dog.
Do U have a link I could use to send that to a friend in Florida. It is great.
lj: VTLE and REI
That is an interesting observation. VTLE is stuck in a rut. A rise in oil, also, did not help the stock.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, XOM has been unspectacular, too.
As U say, and so we watch--paint dry!
lj: OT
It should be interesting! The only reason someone wouldn't want the job has to be money.
al44: Mike Lindell is working hard to get counties to go back to paper ballots. The 2024 election will be stolen, mark my words. Your average Republican, doesn't care.
