on Fri I took up a short usd/chf @ 1.2192 w/the intention of trying to weather all the storms (no s/l) & hopefully hold for at least a mos or 2. So far it's workin out up over 100....hopin it'll be one of those rare positions that never make a serious retest of the entry...we'll see.

Also workin on a long aud/us w/the same kinda game plan.

Thinken if I walk away & dont look at these positions for a mos or 2 I'll be happy....& in the meantime try ta play the channels in both directions as the opps present themself.

I see where the short g/j is workin out....jus how low will it go?

not only that...when ya put it up against some other pr's (yen/frank/aud just ta name a few) over the last day or so....ya gotta believe it's gonna be awfully hard for it to go much further north from where that chart says it is...at least over the next day or so...ie the dollar's last stand.

If I were a 4x Hedge Fund (now there's a vision) I'd be net short the dollar....lets say to the tune of 60-40....maybe even as close as 55-45. It could very well nudge up a lil more over the next coupla weeks into the holiday which is the reason it wouldn't be any more than 60-40 to the short side. But come early to mid Jan (or sooner) I'm still sticken to the feelin that it'll have peaked by then & begin its' long overdue & much anticipated fall back down to reality.

Right now most agree that we're in a bubble for the greenback & we all know how hard it is to call the tops of bubbles....they'll burst when the powers that be finally decide it's time for'em ta burst & no sooner.....& no one ('cept them of course) knows exactly when this will finally occur? Not even my 4x Hedge Fund ;)~ It could very well be that the powers that be want a strong dollar thru q4 & the holiday season....just ta make us all feel as if things aint quite as dire as they truly are....after all, we need ta do all that we can ta have the merryist of holiday seasons....they surely can't steal that from us too, could they?

Me thinks we'll be seein some new faces (& perhaps hopefully some ol' friends as well) over the next few weeks here into the holiday. The cnbc port challenge & maybe a few others who're lookin to da nab some short greenbacks...which will be the mother of all trades going into q1 & 2 imo.

We've been trying to be as holisitc as possible w/the goal of trying to eventually use as lil Rx's as possible....ya know....the ol' "oz of prevention is better than a lb of meds" sayin. Over the last yr + we've been able to gradually lower Cody's Rx doses by approx 30-50%....so it's been worth it to spend a lil more on the best holisitic stuff as we've been saving a considerable wad in going thru less of the real expensive Rx's....2% cyclosporine, neopolydex, perdnisone (which aint that expensive....he only gets 1/4 tab every 3 days now) & GenTeal.....the 2 holistics he gets are the Omega3 which he gets over his food & then a liquid topical called Vetri-DMG....1 ta 2 drops a day in each eye....this is the only one he really puts up a lil fight with...I think it stings him a bit goin in....but that sensation only lasts a few seconds...maybe a min.

It is amazing how many times a day I need to be giving him various doses of stuff....meds/holsitics. He wouldn't make it in a home for which he'd be alone for several hrs a day....he needs too much attn with his eyes.

back to the charts....gold has really been all over the place....more so than usual...seems 809 is where it wants to lower channel w/a top end of 823...aside from the short lived spike to 830 a few days ago...on the 24th & then again on ther 25th...& the hour it's been spiken to 830 on these 2 days was fairly consistent....just after 6a up til 8a on the left coast clock. Lookin like it wants ta nudge higher here into the close....spreads goin up now yet gold is still on the relatively low side w/a 90 handle @ Oanda...everything else is lookin like it's already in wknd mode.

edit.....& no sooner than I mention it....there goes gold to the 250 wknd spread.

Nassau County police say the 34-year-old worker was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 6 a.m., an hour after the store opened. The cause of death was not immediately known. The dead worker's name was not released.

On a lighter note....I gotta say....it is truly amazing what the liquid form of omega3 does for the coat.....he's been gettin it ta help build & support his immune system b/c of the life long chronic ailment he's battlin...KCS (kerraconjunctivitis sicca...ie severe dry eye)...& some of the other positive benes we're seein from the omega3 such as an incredibly soft coat are simply amazing. He gets 3/8ths of a teaspoon 2 x's a day w/his food.....gobbles the fish oil right up...loves it. I highly rec'd omega3 for all animals....even healthy critters....wonderful stuff it is.

Indeed...it is sad how some owners are so damn nonchalant about it all...."they're only animals" kinda mentality.

I have a similar story that took place jus a few blocks from the house here a few mos ago. Saw somethin from a distance in the middle of the street...thot it was a paper bag or somethin...it was placed in the road in a spot where I coulda easily drove right over it (in between the tires) but as I was gettin closer it began ta look more & more like a dog...was a toy poo as it turns out...approx 5lbs. So I stopped & pulled over....thot it was dead but I could tell it was barely breathin....not much blood tho...jus a lil comin from one ear...eyes open but non responsive....was in shock.

Long story short....found the owner (house was just a few doors down from where the dog was laying) who ya woulda thot woulda been all upset & panicked....nope...was quite matter of fact about it all...wasn't even considering taking it into see a vet. Sure didn't look like it was hit by a car tho....woulda been in much worse shape. So thinken this I offered to drive them to the emergency vets a few miles away...he seemed fairly reluctant at 1st but since I vol for a rescue I thot that if he wasn't willing ta pay for whatever reason, our Org would consider it depending on the official prognosis. As it turns out....good thing I took it in....evidently it was just stunned....perhaps a bird swoped down thinken it was prey & could pick it up...or maybe a cat tried attacking it? We'll never really know....but the dog ended up making a full recovery....& ta think a car coulda easily run right over it.

Anyway...after I brought the owner back home from the vets w/out the dog later on that day (the dog had to stay overnight for observation)....the owner invited me in to thank me....& wadda disorganized mess that house was. I don't like ta think of myself of bein judgemental....but man alive...I couldn't help but think....how does this guy even know where this lil 5 lb'r is at any moment....yes, it was that bad. & wadda ya know....they had 2 other dogs as well....a large breed....60-70 lb'r & another toy poo....along w/a toddler & a teenager. I knew it was a bad situation the moment he opened the door ta let me in....as he did....the other toy ran right out the front door & the wife (girlfriend as it turns out) just started laughing sayin..."woops, there goes the other one...we really should be more careful" gee, ya think!! tphhhffttt!!!

The toy that got hurt didn't even have any tags on it....& when we were at the vets I also learned that there was of course no microchip either. Sure woulda been nice to know where the dog lived when I 1st found it in the street.

Everytime I'm passing the house now & in the genl area I'm always looking for either dog out on the loose....& I swear if I ever happen to find one of them, they'll be...aheem, rescued....& I doubt we'll be seein any Lost Dog signs in the neighborhood either. Wouldn't be hard ta find a good caring home for a toy.

Yeah.....I went MIA for a coupla days as I thot might happen...got real busy w/all the holiday fam stuff....& considering that we manage ta have TWO birds each yr (Wed AND Thur) I'm jus now feelin as if some of that triptifan is jus now workin its' way out my system. Tho don't get me wrong...I am quite thankful for the fact that we're so blessed w/such a HUMUNGOUS family (well on the inlaw side at least) that we need to do 2 birds in order to make sure we've said & acknowledged our complete thanks.

Haven't heard from the CaT tho....aside from tryin ta keep up w/the episodes....which I think I've fallen behind a few clips. Prolly should try & go back & get all caught up here...think I may have a few replies still due from a few days back. Tho today is family clean up day around here...from the tidy'n up da house to all da laundry that's piled up over the last few days...& even the pooch is a week overdue for his bath 'n trim...yes, I'm also in charge of clippin him as well....saves us another $50-75 a pop.

& if all that weren't enuff....of course I'm already bein nudged ta put up the exterior xmas lights...fun, fun, fun.

On the 4x front....I see where the short e/j I had goin finally did hit the t/p.....& get this.....I actually moved it a lil further to the south still since I last posted...another 60 pips or so...I had a feeling....& wadda ya know...as it turns out not only was that a good move....I see now where I coulda had me another 160 or so on top of that as its' tanked to the south....as it turns out, I got out @ 122.30 on all 4 positions...tho it got all the way down to 120.70...now trendin up tho @ 121.20.

Workin on a short usd/chf now...1st nibbled on it ever so lightly @ 1.2016 back on the 26th....& it's a good thing I only nibbled.....so I'm lookin to move my e/j gains over to this pr & try out my luck on the dollar bear call.....added another short position this AM @ 1.2192...that one's lookin good up a quick 22 here. But man alive wadda bull channel it looks to be in right now.

& I'm also tryin another approach.....usin mental stops now...& especially w/the dollar at these lofty levels I'm thinken it should be a pretty safe bet that bein short here is gonna prove to be quite a good position over the next several weeks/mos. So if I can somehow manage ta stomach the moves against me, I think I should be able to finally see how it is to actually hold in the green for many weeks.

Hard ta imagine the dollar goin dramatically north from here. Thinken these rallies like we're seein today need to be sold as the upside is gettin smaller & smaller while the downside is lookin as e z ta spot as da Grand Canyon. :0

The Foster's in our group are all quite overwhelmed....many of them w/mulitple's...& one has 5!!

Well I sure don't mind....especially bein the mrkts are goin into slow down mode for the holiday.

I hear ya....hard not ta get the kid-e bug once it actually happens 2 u. & me of all folks....never did really like kids to begin with...actually truth be known...still don't..except for my own of course...lol

I suspect that it all changed for me ever since the Mrs' talked me into stayin at home f/t....which took some doing for her I must admit. Now I'm quite glad she did & that I agreed...& now I find that as they are gettin older & the youngest is w/in 2 yrs of f/t school, I'm tryin as hard as I can ta find somethin for which will allow me to work oudda the house. At least so I can be here to get'em off to school & again in the mid afternoon ta go pick'em up & be w/em til the Mrs' gets home from work/school.

Would really love to see this Monavie biz take hold (as it's beg ta do now only a few weeks into it) & then be able to channel some of these funds into the 4x trading. This could very well prove 2 b just the route I need ta take.

OK....since no one else answered back w/re ta hearin more I'll stop it here....especially bein that Generic has stopped by...lol Apologies Generic....& to anyone else who don't prefer the homey feel of the board....tho I do feel all the OT family stuff makes for a tighter board/family here no doubt.

Back from the housecheck...& wadda housecheck.....5 full acres worth that border Mt. Diablo State Park....Mt Diablo is one of the highest mountains in Calif....2nd to Shasta I think....Mt. Diablo is just under 4K at the summit....anyway....they have a fairly large lake....the property line actually runs thru the middle of it.

Woops.....there I go again....OK....looks like my e/j shorts are still havin issues bustin down the 122.80 door....& even at that I'd still need another 100 to the south to get my fill.

Gotta go catch up w/the mrkts & read just exactly what Paulson was forcin down our throats today....heard the 1st few mins of his speech....but then had ta leave it at that. In short I tihnk he said 20-25B for consumer loans....student loans, cc's, biz loans & car loans. If so....FINALLY!!!

I still think they need to add a clause or 2 so the larger banks will stop usin their TARP funds to purchase the smaller banks...& in turn begin to use that money for what it was originally intended for in the 1st place.....TO LOAN OUT to consumers. Unreal.....at least Detroit aint gettin theirs. & on that note....I find it a hoot that after the auto execs FLEW home on their private jets after beggin for some TARP droppings...wadda ya know....GM is puttin up a coupla of their exec jets for sale...& then told the execs that for future DC meetings, they'll be takin a car....wonder what the odds are they'll traveling in American made cars? Would love ta see'em all show up in a few Japanese & German luxury vehics ;)~

& Sherri....yeah, it's usually the Mrs' who goes into their room & climbs into bed w/em if need be. I can't lay in those tiny beds for much more than a 10-15 min story or 2....gotta stay in the tempurpedic...& even at that I'm gettin sore after 6-7 hrs...that is ta say if I'm lucky enuff ta even get that much sleep.

It gets way too crowded w/me, the Mrs', the 25lb pooch & both girls....& our bed actually has a lil split right down the middle being itza split adjustable bed....so if the kids happen to climb in, the dog usually jumps off & finds a cozy spot on the carpet...then a few mins later after the girls have fallen back asleep....the Mrs' actually goes into the kids room so she has a bed all too herself...instead of having an ankle biter sandwich in our bed...lol

OK...gotta run....doin a housecheck this AM for a potential adopter...one of the rescues the group I volunteer for has been fostering. I really don't like thid part of the "job" as I'm the final one who decides if someone is gonna be gettin a dog....I hate it when I'm asked to do housechecks...dont like being judgemental 1 bit. I much prefer doing transports...taking dogs to new homes, picking up dogs to be fostered & taking them to their fosters, taking a pooch to the vet for an elderly person who doesn't have transportation, etc....OK....Worn's OT ramble session is done...finally...lol

That's right about the age Tricia was when we had our 1st, Haley...she was 37....& looking back on it now, (we were married for 6 yrs before we really started trying) I suppose we shoulda began sooner. I wasn't really thinking much about the physical part as it relates to my age & back issue....duhhhh. I was 39 when Haley was born & Jamie came along 3 yrs later in Sept of '05. The Mrs' wanted #3 but w/my back the way it is, being 45 & not gettin any younger & being the f/t stay at home dad I just couldn't get myself to go through it all over again....& both our girls were never really decent sleepers til at least age 3+....perhaps we shoulda considered that Furber method after all?....lol

I just couldn't get onboard w/#3....not even for the boy. & from the financial perspective....well, lets not even go there...barely cuttin it as it is...in fact really, we aint cuttin it at all. Seems we've barely been able ta make a dent in the cc bals as it is.

Nice ya get a better snapshot of everyone's fam around here....tho I gotta think it's driven Generic batty...lol

Sorry Generic....we'll snap out of it next week after the U.S holiday ;)~
