ECLIPSE uses VoiceNAV...apparently it works, has worked for me too.
E.DIGITAL KICKS OFF 2002 WITH NEW DIGITAL MUSIC PLAYERS AND FIRST AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCT AT CES JANUARY 8 - 11
Unique VoiceNavTM Speech Recognition Interface and Other Features Highlighted in Branded e.Digital MP3 Players and New Designs for OEMs
(LAS VEGAS, NV - January 8, 2002) - e.Digital Corporation (OTC: EDIG), a global provider of comprehensive digital product development and designs, announced that its product lineup at the 2002 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will include all of its branded digital music players as well as some designs licensed or available for licensing by OEM customers.
The company’s first branded consumer product, the MXPTM 100 digital music and voice player/recorder, will be joined by the new MXP 100 Sport version. MXP 100, with e.Digital’s VoiceNav technology, is the first portable digital product ever equipped with a user-independent speech recognition interface. Users just say the title of their favorite song to navigate through their portable music library. Boasting battery life of over 12 hours per charge, both MXP 100 models support the removable IBM Microdrive, with storage capacities of up to 1 gigabyte (GB), allowing consumers to store up to 32 hours of music and voice in a sleek, ultra-portable design.
e.Digital’s TREÓTM 10, a 10 GB hard-disk-drive (HDD) based portable jukebox holding over 3,000 songs, will be available for hands-on demonstrations. Its Smart Song SelectionTM feature lets user scroll easily through tracks on an easy-to-read, backlit LCD screen while music is playing. With battery life of nearly 10 hours and a stylish brushed aluminum case, TREÓ 10 is the sophisticated digital music fan’s choice to hold and play the music collection of a lifetime.
The Classic XP3 e.Digital-powered jukebox product from Musical Electronics, Ltd., features the ability to encode music directly from any audio source into MP3 files, bypassing the need for a PC to perform digital compression. The Classic XP3 also features a 10 GB capacity HDD, superior sound quality, and support for both MP3 and Windows MediaTM file formats. The Classic XP3 is field upgradeable to support other popular formats as they become available.
e.Digital is scheduled to unveil a new automotive stereo product based on the company’s MicroOSTM 2.0 technology. The compact HDD-based design is the core of a complete, integrated automotive infotainment system developed with Eclipse by Fujitsu Ten and licensed for sale under the Eclipse brand name. Known as the MP-3 Changer, the system uses e.Digital’s VoiceNav speech recognition interface to simplify use and promote safe operation while driving. The MP-3 Changer also introduces the first ever (Patent Pending) Write Behind capability for post signal music/information capture.
DataPlay-enabled digital music players designed by e.Digital will be on display. Various designs compatible with DataPlay’s new 500 MB-capacity removable digital media are available for licensing by OEM customers. One DataPlay-enabled portable music player scheduled to be shown is a joint development between e.Digital and Evolution Technologies and is licensed for sale by MTV: Music Television. It will be unveiled in the Evolution booth #13432 in the MP3 Pavilion during the show.
e.Digital will also be previewing the ultra-compact "Renegade". Designed for retail sale, this tiny-but-powerful MP3 player includes 64 MB of embedded storage capacity and an expandable Multimedia Card slot that can hold up to 128 MB more. Interchangeable rubberized faceplates in up to six different colors will be included, allowing user personalization.
During CES in Las Vegas January 8-11, e.Digital is exhibiting in the Las Vegas Convention Center, South 3-4, booth #13338. Additional demonstrations of e.Digital technology and products are scheduled to take place in technology suites and booths of partners and OEM customers during the week.

I consider an 8.0 rating and a buy recommendation good reviews, not to mention a listing on the new product "must have" list, considering the market leader received a 9.0, just a notch above but with a substantially higher price tag.
Thanks hollywoodhills. I was curious if they were going to continue with the Rio brand now that they were undergoing a "restructuring", or redesign the casing to signify the changes going on.
The Rio Riot was their HHD offering. That was a beast, IMO. Did you happen to notice if that was available or just the flash based products ?
TIA.
Are Rio players still "on the shelves" in most retailers, as before, or have they removed them due to the company filing bankruptcy ?
Anybody ?
jtdiii, chwdrhed's bias probably has to do to the fact that she is a subscribing member of ihub.
They make you pay to have features like spell check, private messages and unlimited posts...such added value, lol.
freddy,
When the market turns against us and the bear takes over, all we can do is wait it out or leave. If waiting it out is what you call muted dispair, then so be it. However, continually adding to ones position during this time period allows one to be better positioned when things turn back around and is an investment strategy.
Although no long term investor likes a bear market, an investment like this is not looking for an annual 10-12% return, but rather moves not unlike the jump from $0.07 to $3.70 and subsequently to $24.50. You can't expect this type of move annually, obviously, but emerging companies are subject to this type of radical movement if they are in markets that can make you.
Although I am not expecting $24.50, I didn't expect it when I first invested either. Strange things can happen and EDIG certainly is talking to some "partners" which could redefine this company overnight.
I never loose sight that this is an otcbb, but I also never loose sight of the fact that many giant companies started from some very humble beginnings. Four years running since EDIG became EDIG to me, and it still remains, positioned for business developments, several products under its belt and still struggling, but certainly HERE and not gone like so many before it. It has survived the bear market and we look to be about to have the best year on the books yet, with a broader product and partner base than ever before.
You ask, "Does anybody really believe that they can destroy this company with negative posts or prop it up with kharma by posting positive affirmations?"
Well, many are certainly trying, 24/7. I remember my first EDIG shareholder meeting when someone asked Fred Falk when investors could expect to see the PPS rise and Fred responded, well that's ultimately up to you people (paraphrased). In other words, when investor confidence is again restored, either based on numbers or deals announced with new partners, or whatever, buyers will reenter and the PPS will respond accordingly.
I plan to be there when and if this happens. Maybe it will never happen and maybe it will begin this summer.
freddy, with high risk can come high reward, as was the case twice before.
Investing in otcbb stocks is risky by definition, so just being here indicates a willingness to accept the outcomes of the market regardless from which perspective you care to take your snap shot.
I "tout",(by your definition), the opportunity. While many things can be said about management's execution the past few years, the focus remains on 4 primary markets which are significant, especially for this little company.(IFE, ECLIPSE, Odyssey 1000 and WIRELESS).
The investment speaks for itself. The company can demonstrate products available for sale today, and has products about to hit the market this summer. That's the state of affairs as we know them. If that "entices" (your words) someone to take an investment stake in this opportunity, so be it.
Reiterating the business of the company is what chat rooms are meant for, while it is the negative posters who try to make issue over what type of car EDIG employees drive and claims that bankruptcy are imminent for 4 years running...it is that type of accusation that this long doesn't care for and I will restate the company's business plan because this is a board created for the discussion of the company and the business plan is evolving, something I find very interesting about a company looking to grow itself.
I am nearing the end of my daily alottment of posts, so if I disappear it's not because I am ignoring anyone.
Many people have lost money in the stock market in general, much more than any one EDIG investor. I wonder how many spend their lives as the "ghosts of bear market past" rather than move on with their lives.
What is your investment history here to make you want to have a presence in further discussions ?
chwdrhed, I use to have the PM feature but it has been taken away with no explanation, to my knowledge, which leaves our dialogue to exist "in public".
Back on the off-topic discussion...it appears many here disagree with your stance.
If you have an off-topic policy then enforce it across the board...that seems only fair.
chwdrhed, I didn't take it as light hearted or even remotely cute, but just another attempt at a poke in the eye for those who find themselves in a sticky investment situation.
It was nothing more than a cheap shot.
And when you read her RB posts as a backdrop for her real intentions, you get a more realistic picture.
When investors feel bad, they don't invest but are more inclined to sell. Selling pressure causes stock prices to drop.
Manipulating the psyche of the "down" investor is her task and the constant restatement of a position from one who claims to be out of this investment for over 3 years certainly must be suspect to an impartial judge as yourself.
Shirley, you jest.
lol
If that's the way you see it...oh my.
Investors are investors, regardless of their frustration levels. They are here because they have a vested interest in seeing the company become successful. They are not trying to disrupt or undermine anyone's investment.
Bashers are either disgruntled, EXTREMELY frustrated ex-investors, day traders, boiler-room shorts, and throw in a handful of no life morons trying to justify their life by pontificating on an otcbb chatroom and there you go.
Investors number in the thousands, bashers under 100, I'd say, but bashers take up about 50% of the posts.
You think that's right ?

moxa1, hasn't EDIG use the travelstar HHD ?
Considering that this is now made by Hitachi, and that they are already they are making a 1.8 HDD, wouldn't it seem reasonable to think their new 1.8 is an option for a smaller form factor along with the Toshiba 1.8 HDD ? Does EDIG really need to wait until June for Toshiba and Apple to end their exclusive deal (though it's really not that far off) ?
"IBM, which sold its money-losing hard disk drive manufacturing unit to Hitachi last year, has said it will be the first manufacturer to use the 7,200-rpm drives in its ThinkPad notebook line, slated to come out later this year."
Hopefully the HHD market will only continue to drop in price as competition mounts, making EDIG's costs that much less.
We shall see.
Investors are reentering near the lows and while fewer are willing to let go of their shares down here. The panic is waning and the economy is on the mend.
The sooner we shift back to the investor mode and away from the day trader mentality, the sooner this PPS moves north.
Maybe the realization that serious money is made by buying low and owning it in size is again moving to center stage.
Daytraders trying to trade to make 100 bucks on a 2 cent spread are fewer in numbers. The market's recognition of the potential of this investment has happened before and as EDIG's markets mature, it will happen again.
Investors are focused on some serious markets like IFE, ECLIPSE, Odyssey 1000 and Wireless and the fact that the PPS is near the 3 year low.
Improved financials, coupled with news of new markets and products, hopefully awaits us.

AppleMusic.com is going high profile with their new ad campaign of a teenager singer with her ipod. Couldn't ask for a better exposure to the HDD MP3 player than that.
The growth curve will hopefully continue to expand with time.
milplease, I believe they stated news before the end of this quarter. We are half way there.
Significant announcements have been few and far between in this market for most companies. Anything remotely resembling a significant development could be well received by this market in light of the drought of good news and the general feeling that the worst is over.
Find this market any undervalued company embarking into new markets, producing products and continuing to own the proprietary technology and you'll see interest generated.
Maybe it's too soon to tell if there will be follow through and/or any meaningful announcement, but my guess is that this year will improve across the board for us in PPS and business development.
The 52 week high looks to be vunerable should any one of EDIG's four markets hit...O-1000, ECLIPSE, WIRELESS, IFE...all very exciting products in high profile markets.
Looks like the resident coroner pronounced the patient dead a bit too soon.
Funny how they have all but perished. Seems their boss yanked their chains.

Sentinel, I disagree. I think though that they should instruct the reviewer on how to use the unit properly. There is a learning curve and I doubt the reviewer cares to negotiate that.
As for the consumer looking at features in their differential, it distinguishes EDIG's unit from the others.
Like someone else stated earlier, their brother's new mercedes has it, doesn't work well, but I bet it helped sell the car, and with time he may just get the hang of it.
Using "next" and "back" works quite well, by the reviewers own admission.
I vote for keeping it.
That's sure nice to see. EDIG hiring again !

moxa1, fwiw, I had an immediate fill for a very small buy order
(1000 shares) "at the market" at .17.
Shortly after I placed a substantially larger order at the same price of .17...it's been sitting untouched for over an hour with the last trade being .165.
Probably shouldn't reveal my big buying strategy this AM (lol) but just a little insight into my experience this morning.
Still waiting for a fill at .17.
Odyssey 1000 earns an A- from Mens Journal
http://www.mensjournal.com/toolsToys/0306/iPodclones.html
(from Sparty on Agora)
Odyssey 1000 -- A-
While the Odyssey player offers voice recording, an FM radio, and a fast USB 2.0 connection, its best feature is the backlit display. It's bright, legible, and well laid out. The controls are simple, with an iPod-style thumb wheel for browsing songs and adjusting the volume. But files must be organized in an inconvenient folder/subfolder hierarchy, and the Odyssey's voice-navigation system is gimmicky and impractical: Barking commands and artist requests in public places draws odd looks. $350; 20GB; 858-679-3195; edigital.com (Windows only; USB 2.0)
The wEDIGmusic website has had a slight change today.
Featured artists have been pulled off. Hopefully they are working on reestablishing the website somewhat. The sooner the TREO is replaced by the Odyssey 1000 on the website, the better.
I still think this could be leveraged into something good in conjunction with O-1000 sales as a free added value feature and marketing tool. I hope Alex Diaz utilizes his clout in the biz to get this rolling.
Unknown artists could get their music preloaded on new O-1000s as their incentive for continued exposure along with being on the website itself. I don't think the costs for maintaining the website are significant (though maybe so at this juncture).
Worth keeping an eye on.
Looks to be shown as an alternative to the ipod.
nice find Tinroad.
