Agree Nikki..
I made mention of it just so those interested could see it, if, indeed, they do use the same Executive Summary here that they have been using this past year. It's a panel disussion..so they may start it off with that to hit the talking points.
My thought on one interesting aspect of this is that the VP of Google Energy? I do not think Google will be part of that without explaining why they decided to be part of it. They have made some interesting aquizitions this past year, smart home technology etc. And DME is one of the only energy related areas that anyone can get into on the ground floor. I would expect Google to explain their interest either during the event or shortly afterwards. They are not just attending the event.. Google VP is on the DME discussion panel...for some reason.
Read the guys info...he is on the panel? What?

I still bid sit hoping for the PPS to drop...accumulating now at .0023 rather than .0030 makes a big difference down the road.

Well.. I know it frustrates people when someone thinks they have some remnants of influence on this stock..it's purely for their own amusement as they sit and pat their bald cat.. " I sold one THOUSAND shares Mr. Bigglesworth..."
Pesonally I hope this dips as many times as it can... I remain bid sitting and in the long run..those extra shares it buys me will be great!
In hindsight..we will be glad we had this opportunity to buy the cheapies.

My original link that discussed sole-source, was written by a third party seeking to assist companies in getting it, although it is easy to read, it is not the government wording, this is.
AFTC without doubt, knows the ins and outs of the benefits of SBIR sole source. And as Army/SBIR has invested $1.33 million dollars into AFTC developing this technology... no one is going to undercut AFTC.
Im not underestimating the interest of the heavy hitters that will be at Vail next week...or that DME is the closing presentaion, or that a VP from Google energy is on the panel, or that the Colorado Governor made a major environmental move that was in national news this week, or that Secretary George Shultz and other environmental organization leaders are going to be there.
It could be a real turning point. Those people do not attend something without expecting a closing annoncement. On something. They will not walk away with their hands in their pockets.
And, as I suppose, The IDA's Execulive summary will be part of the presentation..and on page 8, along with other much larger and some multi-national companies...is listed "alternative Fuel Technology.
One thing this industry has been patiently waiting for is the final design, testing, and approval of a high pressure "robust" common rail pump for large deisel engines for use with DME...
If someone wants to see the sole-source information directly from a government site i have posted it below..just that the one i posted earlier is in a much more readable form

Thank your son for his question and for the opportunity to clear up any uncertainty in this regard. I do post to this concern from time to time, but DD can sroll of the board quickly.
Your question, as i understand it, is whether Bosch or anyone else can swoop in and take over the technology that AFTC developed for the common rail that is now under negotiation for commercialization with The Army.
This link, clearly, addresses the no-competition consideration given to firms frunded through SBIR research contracts.

I will leave the above link for those who wish to open it themselves, for those who cannot, I will cut and paste it in its entirety below"
Phase III Government Follow On Opportuities
(how to receive sole source downselects)
> > > page last updated 29 August 2006< < <
SBIR/STTR firms can deal with the Federal Government without competition.
SBIR firms enjoy very powerful and unique provisions which simply do not accrue to any other form of financing. Among these are the "follow on provisions" that encourage (entice) SBIR firms to commercialize their technologies. Loosely stated this provision goes like this:
"Firms that have ever had even one SBIR, or STTR, Phase I can be
in a position to allow the Federal Government to legally offer them
contracts and grants with no (zero) competition."
There is NO dollar limit (worth $billions?) and no time limits (for the life of the firm) in this provision of the law. As we said, it was intended by Congress to entice the SBIR firm to go on to full commercialization.
Now this may sound wonderful, but the harsh reality is that the government doesn't actually realize this -- at least not much of it. The procurement officers of the Government are all indoctrinated toward "competition" but taking advantage of this very real provision seems to represent asking them to perform anti-competitive actions. Moreover the SBIR and STTR program are minuscule compared to the everyday scope of purchasing officers and they simply do not know that these provisions even exist, nor how to use them. They seem to be dangerous and potentially “career busters” to these officials. They need incontrovertible proof that:
1) their doing this is legal and
2) that they are not breaking new ground to work with you on this basis.
Thus, the SBIR Center has developed the SBIR-SoleSource(TM) tool/tutorial package to both train and equip you, and your potential contracting officer, in how to deal with this provision.
If you want to help yourself to help the potential contracting official give you that megabuck contract/grant on a sole-source no competition basis, then you need this tool. It is only $295.00 and will save you many hours and greatly increase the likelihood of your actually getting that BIG Phase III order.

With regard to your concern that Bosch may be competition. No, for the reasons listed above and also because AFTC used the Bosch Common Rail as the platform for the enhanced high pressure common rail.
This link is the original SBIR solicitation that specifically seeks a firm capable of modifying the Bosch common rail into a high pressure JP-8 compatible common rail...value added modifications...the value of which will accrue to AFT in these current negotiations.
Bosch supplied AFT with the pump that needed to be upgraded. They are in this together.
This should, with no doubts, answer your son's concerns. Please feel free to ask me other questions and I am sure either I or a board member will provide an answer as best we can.
Take time to read the 9 page intro on SBIR process. Not only for the current Phase 3, but for the anticipated Phase 1 that could be awarded in March.

It can't not happen. IMHO But yeah..sign on the line and show me the money!
It's late in the day but the highest buy is 10k at .0017
The lowest ask is 10k at .0029
the next ask is .0035
that....is thin.
No this does not qualify as DD
DD would be something like... Why is the VP, Energy, for Google on the DME panel next week at Vail?
:)
Looking at level 2 right now if someone wanted to pick up 120k shares for under 280 bucks we would be back up to .0030
it's annoying... but diminimus in the reality of the value.
It seems possible this is a rather cynical and manipulative attemps to undermine the true value by creating an unfounded (unless someone can find a reason, I can't) uncertainty in what's pending with AFTC/Army/SBIR etc.
Ive said a few times .. If someone is going to manipulate this to a low pps..Im gonna get in on it.
I just don't think any DD is being viewed by people at this point that need any more reason to be here...
It's a shame if people are bailing out simply because someone spent 80 bucks to hit a low buy.
Last year I gave an expample by hitting a bid for 100 shares that brought the stock up by .006 in one trade.
best to all
I hear you. I'm not going to post anymore DD, which was intended to inform and update and provide history to we investors here, until I have some hard contract or award information.
Without a more general and widespread audience, and with a stock like this that moves so far with very action...I guess in a cynical world, anyone could slowly sell into lower prices and a few dollars worth of stock and over time watch as some begin to follow the bids by lowering their ask...
Its interesting to see over the last week that "sells" were actually people hitting bids from buys. Which drops the pps to the buy pps.
Ive said in the past and have yet to find any reason to feel otherwise. Manipulated pps drops are not of any concern to me..Im happy to get the lower price they create.
Perhaps the inevitablity of this stock has become so compelling that it was worth it to someone(s) to but 40% more shares at the lower PPS ..seeing as it is so easly created.
I M H O
It can be a frustrating waiting game. I may be a bit more patient because like some here ive been in the game for years and this is a pretty exciting time.
I take a bit of solice from the two companies, John Deere and Ford declining comment on R & D as confidential.
The contract Im waiting for is the Army acceptance ofg the robust common rail for JP-8. I have no idea how long negotiations might take, but I do feel that if AFTC has the means to hire contract negotiaters, the money must be coming soon and big because it certainly is not in their bank now and attorneys do not work if there is any question about wether or not they are going to get paid in full and paid in a timely manner.
Armys stamp of approval on the pump will do what SBIR says a company must do in Phase 3..commercialize and get revenue from the priciple (Army) and privately. JP-8 great.. Pumping DME..cash cow.
It will not be any one company deciding to buy AFT robust common rail. AFT will be the sole supplier for this product as outlined by SBIR.. It will be the only one..Govt invested 1.33 million bucks to get this technology. SBIR protects that investment by making AFTC sole source.
The newest potential development of which I am virtually certainb of the timeline is the announcement of the SBIR Phase 1 award which they say will be done in March. And we dont have to wait on AFTC to tell us.
Interesting times.
Good Luck to All!
Good Job!

I was bid sitting to round off my holdings and picked up .0024's todfay.. although due to the nature of the transaction i guess it shows as a sell..
How does Trades determine if the trade was a Buy or Sell?
A trade is considered a buy when the order is executed at the ask/offer price.
A trade is considered a sell when the order is executed at the bid price.
A trade is considered a ? when the order is between the bid and ask price.

This was what was needed to fix the wear issues associated with JP-8 fuel... Shortly after, AFT began it's SBIR R & D series.
UNCLAS: Dist A. Approved for public release
JP-8 is the United States Army’s fuel of choice for use on the battlefield. It was so designated by the
Department of Defense in its “Single Fuel Forward” policy in 1988.
JP-8 properties
JP-8 properties are defined in MIL-DTL-83133. Copies of this standard are available at the Defense
Energy Support Center (DESC) web site, www.desc.dla.mil.
JP-8 is a low lubricity fuel in comparison to commercial DF-2. The aromatic content of JP-8 is lower than
DF-2 which is an indirect indicator of lubricity differences between these two fuels.
Another difference from diesel fuel is its viscosity as shown in the figure below (SAE 2009-01-1099). This
lower viscosity can be a challenge to fuel systems when trying to develop high injection pressures or
when attempting to minimize the engine full load power degradation experienced when operating on
JP-8.
The JP-8 spec allows for up to 3000ppm sulfur (versus 15ppm for on-road diesel fuel). Data from the
DESC shows that sulfur levels in JP-8 actually purchased by the military has ranged from near zero all the
way up to the 3000ppm limit. The average for 2007 on the east coast of the United States was
2110ppm. High-sulfur fuel is a known poison to most automotive catalysts, leads to increased
particulate output in the engine exhaust, and also leads to sulfuric acid formation in the intake manifold,
especially in systems with EGR coolers.
UNCLAS: Dist A. Approved for public release
JP-8 experience
JP-8 has caused numerous challenges across the fleet of vehicles with reciprocating engines. This has been a matter of continuing investigation by TARDEC. An SAE paper (2009-01-1099) concluded that “In general, unit injection systems have demonstrated significant tolerance to low lubricity JP-8 in various combat and tactical vehicle applications based on both field and laboratory evaluation experience.” There is very little common rail fuel system experience with JP-8 to date. TARDEC has several programs underway to evaluate both the durability of current commercial common rail systems, and to investigate ways to harden commercial common rail systems for use with JP-8.

Morning AFT!
I very much appreciate all that members do to promote DME..and ive sent some things out myself.
I believe that the IDA is a great DME promoter and "our" lobbyistsw, The North American Affairs Committee" of the DME has the ear of Washington et al.
The way this seems to be working out is a pretty interesting dynamic. Everyone got everything ready for the day the improvements to the pump were made. IDA has had the AFTC common rail on the web site before the robust common rail was commercial-ready! Which I believe is in process now post-SBIR Phase 2 Army.
