was there ever any doubt? i think the run up was more tied to onxx. But with future sales now coming out of europe as well, the price should stabilize, with more of a steady climb up.
with the buyout offer of onxx and the price spill to other bio companies today, makes one question what harvey is thinking of, if an event of this magnitude had been directed towards ariad? would he continue to play hard ball to raise share price? or maybe even consider an offer that would let the share price soar, and releasing him of the burden, for having to come up with additional funds for future research.
good question! i see where you are getting at, with ariad compared to onxx. and from my understanding, it would seem that ariad would be the better longer term perspective. could it be that Harvey's stance with the "not for sale sign", make amgn think it was easier to just try and buy out onxx? rather than deal with the rejections.
before my time. but if thats the case and this holds up (percentages aside), this could turn out to be the biggest single day money gain?!
dont recall ever seeing ariad up over 2 dollars during a single trading day. Things to come?
if $10bil cap their # then is more around $140/shr
if our cap is 10 bill, we would be around $50/shr...much more shares outstanding.
my opinion is that big time day traders have been making good money off this stock. this year, the stock has been pretty much owned by day traders, shorts, ect. what else could account for these price swings that seem to gravitate to the mid/upper teens? ariad seems to have more going for it, than the price would indicate.
price is being held down. not flying with the rest of the market. how much longer before that price escapes their grasp?
Dont you see that aegr only has 29m shares outstanding, compared to ariad having 185m shares outstanding? that means you take the company's market cap and divide it by the amount of shares that it has outstanding. that becomes your share price. Another reason i do not want ariad to issue more shares, diluting the share price further. maybe future revenue will put an end to ariad having to dilute.
in terms of share price, were no better now, than we were one year ago? i guess busting the dirty drug label we received by investing agendas, also recent updates, has done nothing for the share price. no wonder there are so many positive predictions of ariads future pps...the present pps sucks!
here is an amusing question for all the posters who predict on ariads pps. what day do you think, we'll end in the green for a change?
I for one haven't bought a share since our run to 10.50, for whatever reasons. I guess that can explain my frustrations. after holding and watching for so many years, i would like to see more of a result in stock price, from what ariad is putting out.
yeah! up in pre-market and for the first few hours the day of announcement....Then in the red for the closing bell....followed by a sixty cent spike to the green during after hours....Only to open the next day in the red...at this point, It really does feel like a "been there done that".
could it be that the market views management/berger m.d. with disdain? and are now more susceptible to scrutiny, from the recent hidden agendas that have come out?
ariads price had a steady rise, up to the approval of pona. instead now, the anticipation of further accomplishments by the company, can't seem to build on any momentum.
stock seems to reflect no confidence in the company's goals from the market.
up to this point, do any of the posters have an idea, as to ariads p**s poor performance of stock and volume.
can't see how we get back to where we were in 6 months time. encouraging news doesn't seem to help. and thats all we've gotten in the last 6 months.
so, what else is new?
the volume is at a crawl.
So with that said, do you feel that the market is responding to analysts like her, over what the ceo of the company is predicting? If so, the company has a problem with harvey at the helm. A ceo that does not command respect from the market.
Do those #s make you feel better about ariads performance, both today and for the year?
P.O.S. stock...Prove me wrong, ariad!
Maybe it's time for a new ceo
A run to or near 20 could be in the cards today?
Just thinking out loud
Really is amazing how the price has been stuck in the teens.
Manipulaaaaaaaaation...
Whatever the reason for the no news spike, i cant see us gravitate back to the recent lows. Not with all the positive developments that seem to be in ariads future. Manipulation of a stock and the company it represents can only be affected for so long...right?
Was this the biggest single day gain ( money wise) in ten years?
Although i dont think we should still be in the teens, its nice to see ariads stock getting some love today. Having said that, ariad stock makes you wonder, yet again, what direction this pig will gravitate to in the coming week(s).
Turd of a stock. Most stocks for 2013 have made gains thus far.
Not sure i get your meaning. But even before approval, the price was already factored in. Black box with some manipulation sprinkled on top helped us to go backwards after approval. Cant get the obvious by the market. To much money involved.
Asco info should push us to 20 -21 in the short term. No these things are already factored in. We will start to move up eventually, but i think it will just happen out of the blue or with suprising news.
No...already expected
Jess, i do agree that the price will start to rise. What i was trying to say is, that a company like clovis, basically doubled its market cap through speculation. In some ways dndn did likewise. But ariad seems to go in reverse when such positive material is released. I'm thinking the drivers of speculation could have something to do with how the market views the management team.
With all these ingredients for success that keep presenting themselves for ariads future, its a wonder as to why speculation alone hasn't started to move the charts upward. I think it may have something to do with the management team, that the market doesn't perceive to be that affective. Could handing over the realms to new team appreciate the value of the company sooner rather than later? Or would that not make a difference at this point?
2da, thanks for trying to keep this board open minded and opinionated.
Why all the agitation towards Barneys post? Who on this message board is really cpncerned about a strangers comments. the posters here seem to thin skinned for their confidence in ariad. I personally dont care if he said the skies going to fall tomorrow. Board is not that big of a platform to sway price one way or the other.
Jessparo, mentioning that a big pharma and or hedge group is possibly trying to hold ariad down (which i can agree with), is it safe to say, that ariad is no longer under the radar.
we went from $2-$17 in three to four years with another 60% in 2012, correct? I'm assuming that run up was due soley to pona speculations, correct? My question then is, when do we start the run up from where we are currently, from 113 speculation?
Same "great buying opportunity" statements over and over and over and over again?! Really? thats all this board can muster up any more?! same comments, different week....wow
