So it would seem that the people who wanted out have gotten out. Ask was thin today to say the least, eh?
Really now, you expect it to trade lower than it was 3 years ago when it wasn't profitable and doing less than 20% of the revenues it is now?
The trade agreements are going to be coming through now and revenue should continue to increase, as long as that happens and they stay profitable, there is no way it should trade below .30, a growing profitable company in a growing market.
Deaf* ears.
Exactly. Also, that is not the only agreement they will be finalizing in this quarter.
"we now have Agreements for an expanded pH program in the US, Canada and Israel; one for Saudi Arabia and another for five additional countries in the Middle East. Shipments of our new radiological filter to Japan were delayed due to administrative matters with one government agency, but we expect them to be resolved shortly, and 40’ containers to be shipped in the second quarter. "
So 4 more on top of that within the next two quarters. This should only be the beginning imo, as the product really gets out there. All I want to see is a marketing campaign, tbh. That is the only thing I desire. As long as the market share is increasing and they are not losing money, I am a satisfied investor.
Yes, but revs were higher, at 5.15mil. It is still about market share here, 100,000 or 1 million income, it isn't that much different, as long as they not losing money and are growing sales.
Everything is relative, as long as they keep increasing sales, I am happy.
Yep, looks like it. looks to be breaking out here again.
I have a feeling that we are going to swing into a good year here. All that needs to happen is continue to roll out global distribution, which they are doing, and up visibility and advertising, which I try to talk to them about. I may make a trip down there to meet with someone from the company sometime in the near future.
Everything still looks good, a few quarters of revenue drop during the winter months doesn't change my long term outlook. I still think that this niche of this industry hasn't even started taking off yet.
I'll post it again, interest is actually above last year this time and still trending upwards.
http://www.google.com/trends/?q=filter+bottle
I'm still in here. Nice to see you are too. Good couple days of someone buying big chunks btw.
All's well here, sir! Yeah, the short termers bailed a little on that earnings, but really? 400k WITH delays and still with profit? People are worried about that blip? The tech store I go to by my house does twice that much in sales DAILY. Seychelle products are going to be sold around the world soon, so people are just missing the boat. The visibility of the stock and company is still NIL.
I still haven't sold anything, I am going to visit the company hopefully this summer and get my 2 cents in. This is all about long term, here. I want to only pay my 15% in a few years. lol
Well I think the key is the "delays in negotiating three major new distributor agreements." If that pans out sales should be back up at the end of this quarter.
The earnings were definitely a disappointment for this quarter, but one quarter is not a huge problem except for the short term pps. Growth is still there, that study is nothing to mock, Seychelle is leaps and bounds ahead of where it was 3 years ago, and the PPS will show it. The way it has been trading made it vulnerable to a drop on a lower earnings report.
The long term is still great here.
Happy New Year to all! Here's to 2012 being as good of a year for Seychelle as 2011 was. Hope everyone's holidays were fun and relaxing!
Does Hank, or anyone who knows about this, want to explain a bit further about what is going on here:
http://regsho.finra.org/regsho-Index.html
It would seem that you were right about those shares being shorted to you, Hank. For instance, I believe it says those 8500 shares you picked up on the bid on Friday were actually shorted. If I am interpreting this data correctly, hundreds of thousands of shares that have been bought on this run have actually been sold short, most likely from MMs. Which is really quite interesting, and to me begs the question if so many of these shares were shorted out to buyers, without shorting would the PPS here be much higher? Do they do this just to keep the stock liquid and the PPS not so volatile when there is high buying volume?
And what are the market makers going to do now that they got what seems like at least 5% of the float in the hole short here on the way up. Will we see them drive the price down again? Or will they cover?
Or am I missing something?
I stumbled across that page on another board talking about market maker exemption shorting of OTCs. The whole thing bothers me, really. It is my personal feeling that shorting itself is a perversion of the investment process, but again I'm still wet behind the ears. If it is just a short term strategy of market makers to fill orders when they don't have shares and keep the stock liquid, then I guess I can understand.
It seems like the majority of the time though, that is not the intention of the institutions. I'd just like to get a firmer grasp on what picture this info is painting here.
No problemo Frank, I love discussing Seychelle's industry and prospects. Come back anytime, sir.
I'm sure that the others on this board can add to what I said sometime, too.
The water filter industry is very large and competitive, that is true.
However,
There are many sub categories of water filters, and at the moment high performance water filter bottles are a niche and growing market that Seychelle has been in for longer than even the big players. Some, like Brita, (who has just recently begun running ads for their first, mostly aesthetic filter bottle) don't even feature the extent of filtration as Seychelle, nor the variety of products.
For instance, as far as I can find and tell, there is only one other company in existence that makes stainless steel water filter bottles, my personal favorite Seychelle product.
If a big player were to push hard into this industry, there might be a competitive problem for Seychelle in certain aspects, but Seychelle has a moat of patents and also market share (however small it is, it is still relative to the total size of the filter bottle market itself.)
To get an idea of peoples' awareness of filter bottles as an option for, lets say, camping, I always post this chart: http://www.google.com/trends?q=filter+bottle
people generally don't respond, but I feel like its important in noting that there is still not very much market penetration by filter bottles as a whole to the overall market. People weren't aware enough of even the concept of a "filter bottle" to even cause a blip searching it on google.
There is also the other part that Seychelle just has better technology, and the lab tests show it.
I think that the step to take now is to market the hell out of Seychelle as a brand and get it at the forefront of this industry in the public's mind. I have ideas on how to do this, and I periodically propose stuff to the directors, but I think I will present more in the near future.
A case in point, I have camped all my life with iodine tablets, until I found the Seychelle STOCK CHART while doing a scan, and was introduced to the concept that you can drink water safely from streams and lakes without using chemicals. And I actually have camped a good deal.
If I didn't know that, a good number of people in this world don't know it either, and it is time now for Seychelle to introduce people to this concept as well as their brand, all at one time.
Another point to understand, EVEN IF a large competitor were to enter the market and push high performance filter bottles to the masses like Brita for example, with Seychelle's expertise, growing market share, growing awareness, and PATENTS, it would just make this company is a prime buyout target. Even 50 million wouldn't be unreasonable IMO for a buyout tomorrow.
Also, Happy Thanksgiving guys! Remember to give thanks for SYEV and the profits that yall hath wrought!
Imma eat me a turkey, a pig, a sweet potato field, and a few pies.
Probably for the best, we should see some consolidation between the high 40s and low 50s I would at least expect, if not a retrace lower at some point. I'm not sure though, because I don't really know what that massive rally was all about in the first place. I still have some hopes and dreams to complete my share goal in the low 30s, but those seems to be fading away fast. lol
For better or worse I am holding my shares. I decided a while back not to try to trade things, contrary to penny stock common sense, its too much stress and work for me so I'm sticking to the strategy suggested by my username. Buy and set a value target for the company.
Seychelle is still undervalued imo, and my profits would not be capital gains yet, so I'm holding firm. If we get a huge rally up into the multiple dollars that seems to be on hype I may consider, but for now I'm happy just sitting, waiting, wishing.
I did watch a shareholder who held a huge stake and felt similarly to this on another company watch a giant rally up to .15/share after buying in under a penny and then watch it fall back to under .03 without selling a share (so he said), so I do know the dangers of marrying a company, but this has hardly been a 20 bagger rally yet and I don't feel married, I still feel logical. (however illogical not taking profits is lol)
BTW, was anyone here around to witness the godlike rally of VRML back in 2009? I don't know if I mentioned it before, but I actually had bought that company as Ciphergen back in 2007 and had 15 extra shares lying around in my account from when they name changed and had a weird split. I had taken a hiatus from even looking at my port back then to be a college party animal, but when I came back and checked in late in 2010 I had a near heart attack and felt sick for like days afterwords. I kept calculating numbers in my head of return possibilities. That rally has to be in the top ten %/day of all time, any stock, ever. That was what really what got me looking at penny stocks in the first place. I didn't know something like that was even possible.
Not a lot of selling at all really. Slight correction on low volume is what you like to see. Should be some consolidation here I guess, if that insane rally is done. lol
Sorry hank, I thought that some jokes and riddles and side banter wouldn't be a problem, but I understand. They are off topic.
I think the kind of stocks that you find and trade are the future of investing, Hank. Small but real and successful companies lost in the sea of illusions that is the otc markets. Institutions and mainstream investors don't ever see them right now, but in the future I believe with more oversight by the SEC, more investors will see the value. Seychelle is one of these companies.
Oh btw hank, I finally just saw your mail from a while back in my inbox. I never look in there because I don't get mail from anyone and I don't have premium so I cant send any. I will look into that though, its quite interesting and looks good.
Also, we are pushing a 5 year high here, back in 2008 it traded at .63, granted that is on low volume and back when huge gaps in price were common here. Nonetheless it will be a milestone.
Idk what happened today, but it was craziness. Tomorrow will be very interesting from start to finish. I'd like to know who was doing all that buying too. If you are out there, show yourself! lol
Grats to all here holding shares!
No I know it of course, sir! I just thought maybe some other board got ahold of the chart or something.
Your account validated my decision to actually invest in penny stocks instead of just trying to trade them, looking through all your earnings growth stocks when I was starting out, I know how kosher you are.
This seems better than most real worlds though, lol I'm happy people are finally recognizing the value here :)
...although I still wouldn't mind it coming back to the .20s for a few days for my buying pleasure...
jk, thats not going to happen again. I am resigned to my block.
This is interesting, I don't see a ton of pumping?
I am usually very wary about big moves like this, It usually is not long term healthy. Although I do think it is well deserved, obviously. And usually when it happens, it is to companies that aren't as rock solid as Seychelle. Who knows, maybe this is just "it" as they say. I'm not selling a share for a long time, so either way I'm chillin.
I saw that 350 share trade early this morning and was wondering if it was a MM signal. Is this MM orchestrated here? They have the charts to do it easily, and I don't blame them, I am just wondering.
One thing I have thought is that the Orange County Business Journal I guess reaches 150,000 people. Probably mostly wealthy Calafornian business men. And since it came out we have seen nothing but up. Could be a lot of rich guys are seeing this company finally. Cool beans either way, just wish I had more lol
Meh, off to grind through some finals. I'd rather stay here and watch Seychelle defy gravity, but alas.
GLTA today, with such a large bid sitting on 44, I wouldn't blame anyone for taking profits, but I wouldn't support the decision either ;)
lol you are right! ... you also may be right about never seeing this range again... and I will always wonder about those shares that I didn't buy down in the 20s lol how much cool stuff could I have bought with my money in here instead of other places, like food and shelter. lol
Oh btw, crazy crazy thing I found out the other day. My co worker is spending Thanksgiving down in San Juan Capistrano, about 5 minutes away from our company, with his uncle, the OWNER of the ORANGE COUNTY BUSINESS JOURNAL lol. How crazy messed up is that?! I live in Chicago and work at a toy store! Small small world.
Anyways, he said he might get me a subscription. And I might accompany him down there some time to meet the whole Seychelle crew and have a chat. Cool beans eh?
Oh btw, MrT11, remember when you hypothesized about those Outdoor Products in Wal-mart back in the day being Seychelle filters? And people were like wha? and then bought like 300k shares, and then promptly sold them all the next few days? You were right about that btw.
Oh and if anyone remembers that 500,000 share sell at .25 back in August, the one that marked the beginning of the decline to low .20s for a few months, pretty sure that was Marathon Capital exiting its position. We are now institutionless.
SYEV Seychelle Environmental Tec... 71 Closed $0.35 $0 0 0% -$160,000 -500,000 0 N/A
500k more traded though can help explain the dip.
Good riddance, I say, thats 500k more for all of us. :D
You could see the MMs backing up the bid for that dump btw, I had no idea what was going on.
mmm I gotta get back to studying. All my finals tomorrow, and I'm still procrastinating...
I would have rather you just knew it right off the bat! lol it is like my favorite movie! Imma post the scene here in a few days if you don't get it, and then you will have to watch the full thing because it's hilarious.
If it is a riddle you are after....
Early one morning a top executive is leaving on a business trip when he finds he left some paperwork at his desk. He runs back to his office to get them, and the night watchman stops him and says "Sir, don't get on the plane. I had a dream last night that the plane would crash and everyone would die!" The man takes his word and cancels his trip. Sure enough, the plane crashes and everyone dies. The next morning the man gives the watchman a $1,000 reward for saving his life and then fires him. Why did he fire the man who saved his life?
I have agreed with this since I discovered this back in February. I guess I got spoiled when it pulled back to low 20s. It just bothers me that I had no money when it was down there. I keep pestering my parents with updates on how much they missed out on because they didn't listen to me again when I said to buy under .25... same deal as silver all over again...
I'd like to know what this will go up to before it corrects though, it will be interesting.
New highs are old news I guess. lol looking for some consolidation around these levels? Idk? People seem to keep buying and the ask continues to be thin.
Can you name this movie? One of my favorites:
"Switzerland keeps the time Charles, not Japan. You need a society that's into precision. With all due respect, Japan makes a helluva radio, but they don't know beans about precision! Now, you come here, you tell me the Germans were going to start making watches, you've got my money! What's the stock at today? Okay, heres my prediction. When word hits the street, they're at three.... You watch, remember who said it! Three."
Please delete- sorry misspost.
Thanksgiving Week 2011 Contest Pick- OINK
Imma pig, feed me a sub.
Well I guess my silence does nothing to weaken the stock and get me more shares in the 20s lol.
We stand at a huge crossroads ladies and gentlemen. The last time this stock traded this high was in October, 2008. The revenues were under 1 million. The company was losing money each year. We stand broken through a major barrier, the 3 year high. I am proud of all of you who have held, and I only hope I can look past the shares I wish I had, to the shares I do have, as we push towards a dollar. Perhaps history will serve us and the stock will weaken in 4-5 months and bring us back around .30. If not, I shall still be happy.
Classy handshakes all around, I think the fun has just begun.
Yep, I agree with everything you have been saying, and I believe that no one who would exercise would sell at these levels. This would mean no practical dilution until a much higher pps. The stock is undervalued and not gotten a fair shake, but there has been significant consolidation and accumulation in the last year. We will see a rise eventually.
The reason there was no action on the news is that no new eyes saw it. It is funny how the healthy companies get lost in the fray on the OTBB and pinks. That will change within 10 years, hopefully something that comes of all this Wall Street turmoil is the push for more SEC oversight of everything. Then people will be looking to invest instead of just trading in the nano caps.
The selling volume the other day was either just someone needing cash, or panicking along with the rest of the major markets. I think it was good, gets that weak hand out of the way early, before this filing.
I think we are in for a little upward momentum with this filing.
Happy Veteran's day everyone, thank you to all you vets out there!
Thanks sir! This is going to be a fun ride, you are right about us just getting started.
This is a fun read putting this PR in perspective.
http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2011/11/05/5908656.htm
some nice company of companies on that list (underneath us) including Edward Lifesciences, which just revolutionized heart surgery :)
I was going to look at the list itself, but it costs 25 bucks from the orange county business journal. I don't have that money to spare, I need it to buy shares! lol
Whew, someone just exited a big-ish position. Grats to whoever it was on your profits! I'd say its a bit early, but if you are a swing trader then thats what you are looking for.
You're the man hank, thanks bud. When I get home today I'm going to figure out editing and put a couple pictures up on the box. By then I bet we will be touching even newer highs. This is a critical juncture for this company and this stock, it's fun to be a part of it. GLTA
Such a legit PR, I love it. We are busting through resistances like AP through D lines.
Hank, any feeling about me becoming an assistant mod? I actually have some morsels to contribute to the box today, you will like them. Just PM me if it's not a kosher plan.
Man, you were right about needing a more active board too, 52 week high and not even a peep?
I was hoping at least for an SYEV.. $0.374.. lol
52 week high to close the week ladies and gents, pretty nice.
Why thank you sir sage, is there some way we can put this in action? How many shareholder votes does it take to create a new position and vote someone into it? lol, I seriously have considered doing the video myself though, I have. I'm just hella busy, and don't have funds to travel around to famous watery landmarks.
I have sent them a few emails detailing it though. I really think they should put that 1.6 million in cash to work for something, can't worry about the bottom line at this size, gotta push for a front position in this growing market. Now that brita and the big boys are interested in getting into filter bottles, gotta make Seychelle a recognizable brand name, and this is a way to do it.
Heh, I said that for the imagery sake, but really I could see it being someone going around to famous landmarks and drinking out of all of them. Rivers, lakes, ponds, fountains, that nasty river in India would be awesome, set it to some music like that guy who did those EAT and MOVE videos, or where the hell is matt.
It wouldn't be hard, and it would be great marketing imo.
Oh btw, would love to become an assistant mod of this board, if that would be possible, hank. I have done a lot of DD and know the company fairly well, and I'm pretty dedicated to the stock.
I haven't chatted as much because I was trying not to bring hype to this board and was hoping it would spend enough time low that I could make more money and buy more shares.... seems like thats moot now.
So I will be around the board now wallowing in self pity about the profits that could have been made with those 70,000 shares that traded at .20-.201 had I been a grown up with more money... lol
Seriously though it killed me when those shares were sold, thats 12000 dollars of profit in a month that in my mind was guaranteed! How often does that happen to a person :(
And I'd like to throw some cool stuff on the box from time to time.
Let me know in a PM if this is not possible/a good idea or something.
Wouldn't it be funny if this board and company actually got some visibility? I mean seriously, I just saw an advertisement for a brita filter bottle, a latecomer to the game that seychelle has been in for a decade. This technology is the future. Outside some off chance serious liability issues or the even more off chance there is some sort of fraud, like every otc stock is feared to be, the very worst future for this company is a buyout, at definitely more than a dollar a share. What is not even a best case scenario is a continued growth rate from the last 3 years, which has been huge. But then again who knows if they actually did some net and youtube advertising...
Can someone please take it upon themselves to make a youtube video using a seychelle advanced filter bottle to drink out of really disgusting places? I proposed this to them months ago. Cause I feel like that video could easily go viral... someone just take a dump in their toilet, fish out some water and drink it. Bam, easiest marketing strategy ever. loll
