The water filter industry is very large and competitive, that is true.

However,

There are many sub categories of water filters, and at the moment high performance water filter bottles are a niche and growing market that Seychelle has been in for longer than even the big players. Some, like Brita, (who has just recently begun running ads for their first, mostly aesthetic filter bottle) don't even feature the extent of filtration as Seychelle, nor the variety of products.

For instance, as far as I can find and tell, there is only one other company in existence that makes stainless steel water filter bottles, my personal favorite Seychelle product.

If a big player were to push hard into this industry, there might be a competitive problem for Seychelle in certain aspects, but Seychelle has a moat of patents and also market share (however small it is, it is still relative to the total size of the filter bottle market itself.)

To get an idea of peoples' awareness of filter bottles as an option for, lets say, camping, I always post this chart: http://www.google.com/trends?q=filter+bottle

people generally don't respond, but I feel like its important in noting that there is still not very much market penetration by filter bottles as a whole to the overall market. People weren't aware enough of even the concept of a "filter bottle" to even cause a blip searching it on google.

There is also the other part that Seychelle just has better technology, and the lab tests show it.

I think that the step to take now is to market the hell out of Seychelle as a brand and get it at the forefront of this industry in the public's mind. I have ideas on how to do this, and I periodically propose stuff to the directors, but I think I will present more in the near future.

A case in point, I have camped all my life with iodine tablets, until I found the Seychelle STOCK CHART while doing a scan, and was introduced to the concept that you can drink water safely from streams and lakes without using chemicals. And I actually have camped a good deal.

If I didn't know that, a good number of people in this world don't know it either, and it is time now for Seychelle to introduce people to this concept as well as their brand, all at one time.

Another point to understand, EVEN IF a large competitor were to enter the market and push high performance filter bottles to the masses like Brita for example, with Seychelle's expertise, growing market share, growing awareness, and PATENTS, it would just make this company is a prime buyout target. Even 50 million wouldn't be unreasonable IMO for a buyout tomorrow.
