You are right it is an expesive Hobby, but it isnt for your average Joe. From what Elaine at TDG told me it can cost upwards of $10,000.00 to get started, including certification, there are different types of CCRs and you have to be trained for spacific CCRs, You also need that training before you can purchase a CCR.
It seems to me it's a hobby for divers that can afford to spend big bucks! The Blu Vu BOV for an upgrade on CCRs Is going to be around $700.00, you can get into SCUBA diving for that easy. To put it bluntly, It's a rich persons hobby!

Foe all to see, info from last week about Titan Dive Gear and BOV.

Ok, I spoke with Elaine @ TDG, she is the one I always talk to. The last time I spoke with her she told me they were done with testing

on Blu Vu BOV and they were looking at Feb. for getting to market. That was their testing on preproduction units, they requested changes

to the preproduction unit, and the changes were approved. TDG was sent production units for testing and TDG has passed the unit per

their testing requirments and approval, now a third party is testing the unit for final approval which is to be completed in the next week

or two. Elaine told me she expects to have them on hand by the end of Feb. She told me that they had a meeting about the BOV this week!

I have done a little research on CCRs, and read a couple of personal accounts that they would not dive without a BOV on their CCRs

because of incedents involving divers or freinds that didn't have one on their CCR units. Just to get certified for CCR diving can cost

almost 2K dollars! Elaine told me to call at the end of the month and she would have something more concrete. I failed to ask about

price, but when I spoke with Jeff Bosanic around the first of the year he gave me a ball park of around $700.00; He seemed like a real nice guy

told me if he could help me in any way to give him a call. I talked to him under the pretences that I wanted to get into CCR diving, I think

I posted about that conversation with Jeff. Wished I had taken typing!!! LOL
