I agree....I was not disappointed in the results. They were about what I expected and I have not changed my view on where we stand here. As far as my position...my shares will be tucked away safely and I will be moving my worries on to my other positions.
Varies...anywhere form feet to hundreds of yards or more. Growing by the minute. So glad this is finally getting exposed. How did it take weeks???
CNN just reported that BP is only gathering 42,000 gallons per day with their new straw! That's less than 20% of the oil that is spewing. BP is a PR machine...getting everyone to think this made a difference before they wet off to work this week. They are pointing out the issues w/ the flumes now. CNN's coverage is much better than CNBC on this. It still isn't the truth yet.
Yes...30 miles x 10 mile x 300 yds deep...thats A LOT of oil
Haha...or it overflows when you aren't paying attention :)
Getting windy...I have my sail up and ready for a smooth ride north
CNN is breaking more and more info as we speak about the plumes and just blasted BP for not focusing on both the leak and the aftermath. They just talked about the size of the plumes, the ability of these to get in the currents and the damage it will cause to the coral and sea life due to the depleating oxygen. This is all info we on here have been talking about for weeks...but it is just starting to get into the news/public eye. It will get lifted, what other choice will they have? This must get cleaned up!
Haha...I knew it came from the company! I couldn't make that great of an idea up if I tried.
Ok...so we know where our support level is...exactly where we predicted it would be. Now the dilemma for most. Sit tight on the sidelines or jump in now before news. Those who wait for news could be a little late to the party. I want mine in my hands.
If something is selling well in a local market of a national chain, it is sure to get to the rest of the chain very quickly. Hope Bob is working on these relationships among other things as we speak!
I stated that the cannon would not work...just the product. I believe I know what the cannon does by now :)
no joho...I was not saying that at all. I believe it was actually the company that was trying to suggest it to BP weeks ago.
Just repeating DD that was done weeks ago. One must assume if they can shoot golf balls and rubber into the pipe, they can shoot MOP. Not a engineer here.
Of course they wouldn't use the cannon...but it can/could work under water.
Not true...although it would difficult to use on the plumes. It could be shot directly into the well head and soak it up from the beginning and be already absorbed as it rose to the surface instead of dispersed to the ocean floor :(
Agree...I don't like the pump either and like the steady growth here. I just wish the growth PR's would come weekly so we could get some momentum. Patience will win big here.
I don't hate what is in the PR...but in the land of pinkies...a PR sends 1/2 of the stocks down and 1/2 of them up. Unfortunately today for me the 3 PR's have produced 2 down and 1 up when I was expecting all 3 up. That's why I hate PR! I actually liked the content...not the result...and all must agree on that.
Get em while their hot...15000s moves this -23%!! Sale on today at the CLDR store :)
I hate PR!
They don't owe us a PR...They are obviously working hard right now on our behalf. They are also aware of who their true shareholders are and those that won't be 1hr after they put out that PR. To think that a boom supplier is not selling booms during the biggest oil spill in our history when there is a boom shortage. Good things come to those who wait.
Yes...scottrade took 10 min to fill another order of mine today on another stock and I was above the ask! Crazy stuff going on today.
mike...my buy above the ask took at least 7-8 min!
bouncing back here...little shake out and buy opp. New money, big money, just waiting on that sales PR to come. Im betting we see something by Wed/Thurs. Hold em tight.
Hope its not AUTO!! haha...some will get that
I meant above the ask...she just went, but the price goes down...figures ;)
I just re-entered and slapped the ask and got the bid too
Thw impatience of a few...but super low volume...saw this before. Should hold 13. Nobody wants to sell at these levels...what is the point?!
I have a small buy in above bid to get it started and she isn't going.
Nice to wake up to a great PR!
I havre not come across a scottrade app yet...it would most likely be talked about on their website if they had one. I use scottrade, but just have the website bookmarked to the log in page on my BB.
Agree...I don't see any of the holders selling below .14 over the next couple of weeks. It will get walked down to shake some shares out, but be ready to "MOPN UP" if/when it does. Even if the well was stopped today...which it won't be, the clean up/boom issues have not even begun to get addressed.
Agree...the "insert straw" method is not a fix for them, just a temporary attempt at some good PR to show some (very little) progress to the casual observers. The giant condom attempt would be called the "jimmy hat" approach
I agree bank...as pressure starts to mount and BP is flushed out of this cover up...they will be forced to move in this direction. We could see them from BP directly, the USCG, FEMA, the States, individual counties/parishes. Once the ball starts rolling..it will snowball.
That's great...more $$ if we are the labor too! They would obviously need to hire and manage the process
Do I think? Yes IMO ...Will we? ?
That looks impressive, but it may not allow for the recovery of the oil. Im also not sure how their technique could be duplicated on this scale. Filters? How would all of the water be put through pipes, filters in order to use? Our product seems much more realistic.
As someone mentioned last week....we will not get a "contract" per say. We will get "purchase orders" from contractors that receive the clean up "contracts" as we are a supplier of product or supplies to them. Just wanted to clarify...and I probably never changed it in my reposts either.
Here is my view of where we stand here with MOPN from the PR, boom inventory, and sales side I have previously posted.
Sorry about the length of this post, but it pulls it all together. I have also sent a message to Money so that we can hopefully pull some of the great DD from the past few weeks to the stickys and ibox so those of you that are new here don't have read thru 9000+ posts...although you should, many of us have.
First of all, I own a business that requires tight inventory control. I only lower the price of my product when I know I have a large profitable sale or a source of continued revenue from future sales and therefore have to produce additional inventory that is sold or will be sold. I do not hold inventory that I have to discount in order to sell. Most businesses do not...that's poor inventory control.
Take a look at what we know from the PR's we have received and look at the info very logically and from a business point of view. We have a respectable CEO with connections and this seems to be a very hardworking company doing the right thing. Catalog is top notch.
The company probably had a small amount of boom in inventory that was easily purchased up at the beginning 2 weeks ago or sent down to gulf...hence the first PR stating that they wouldn't even be able to fill the orders received.
Quote from 5/5 PR "During the past two days we have been working diligently to respond to three separate “bid-requests” for large orders of booms for the Gulf coast. Had we shipped a container of the loose sorbent last week we would not have sufficient quantities of sorbent to fulfill these potential orders for much higher value-added products. As it is, the potential orders are large enough that we will only be able to service one of the three with our current available capacity. We felt that under the circumstances, the prudent business decision to make was to continue to negotiate on these requests, rather than take the risk that by sending a container, we would get an audience with the Coast Guard or BP. We believe VERY STRONGLY that at least one of these boom “bid-requests” will be shipped. However, we are aware that we are working in an environment where there are many unscrupulous players who do not deliver on their promises. We are being careful to do our due diligence regarding payment.
Additionally, we are in negotiations with two other companies to dramatically expand our production capacity. These are businesses that are NOT competitors but rather they are in the business of producing products that use similar lines of manufacturing equipment, thus creating an opportunity for us to be able to service two or possibly all three of these large bid-requests by subcontracting the excess production we need."
So...They did not have the miles and miles of booms which are needed for the response in current inventory. That's why sales have not been announced. MOPN's primary sales are not booms in the normal course of daily business for the company. Why would they have miles and miles of booms in inventory sitting in valuable/costly warehouse space for years at a time? Do you realize the size/cost of a facility that would be needed for that?!?
Many news sources have cited the need for absorbent booms vs those that are breaking and sinking as well as a shortage. There is also the lobby going on right now to allow for the use of environmentally friendly loose absorbents which we also sell vs. harmful chemical dispersants. The PR above stated "expanding production" for the booms. Booms are most likely being produced by their manufacturers and will be sold to fill existing orders, contracts, and future needs as this is just the start. I gather from this that they are reducing price to increase orders vs the other boom competition that is raising prices unscrupulously. MOPN probably doesn't have existing unsold booms in inventory they are hopelessly trying to move. We also have the upside of the oil recovery and clean up cost recovery vs the dispersants.
Thats my 2 cents/opinion and GL to all
HI all,
We should have a great week here w/ MOPN. This weekend's developments w/ BP's continued failures to stop the leak and some of the public finally being brought up to speed about the damaging dispersants. We now realize that the amount of oil spewing out is on a catastrophic level for the gulf region and with no fix in the near future for BP. People are increasingly starting to focus on the clean up...and many in a more informed, educated way.
The stock price performed very well Friday with awareness brought to the forefront by the Obama lashing of BP. We have support at the .12-.13 level now with no sellers at that level. The upside with potential purchases and news increasingly outweighs the downside after this weekend's developments and time for this to soak in with investors. Most of those in below .10 probably took profits, are riding free by now, or holding strong for a price much higher than .20. We know that the Float is small and this moves quickly. We also know that above .20, there is nothing but blue sky above. Any news of sales will bring money flooding into MOPN...and not just IHUB penny money for weeks to come.
I will also repost my previous post about how I see the PR's and their relationship to boom inventory and sales IMO.
This is a great board...keep up all of the great support and DD!
MCLN - Reporting today after close!?!?
MOPN! BP's Top Hat and straw failed
