Great company
Well it looks like Bob dropped a bomb on ARGC. Interesting how he timed his article at exactly the same time as the rally. The one thing that doesn't make any sense is if what he wrote was true I wonder why Artepharm Company never publicly distanced themselves from all the publicity this has receieved over the last several months. Either way we'll all find out in the next few months whether or not Bob is right.
Rain, if you watch this stock long enough you'll see a lot of crazy stuff going on like naked shorting etc. I just wonder who is behind the all out assault on this small company. I'm personally holding out for a lot more than a couple pennies a share and I know I'm not the only person on this board with a sizable chunk of shares. It won't take many longs to pin down the 23 million float at these prices. imo
A couple of things to keep in mind for the next few weeks. First, the eradication program should start by mid Nov at the latest to get ahead of the rainy season which typically sees a significant jump in malaria infections. Second, the program is front loaded so that 1.6 million administrations of Artequick will be delivered in a very short period of time. This simply means that Artepharm can expect to receive several million in rev's for the 4th quarter to fund the cost of the drugs. With such a small float the share price could increase dramatically in a very short period of time. imo
A quick summary of Artepharm's lead scientist.
http://www.artepharm.com/about/en/2.html
China has set a goal of eliminating malaria in Africa with no strings attached. Ultimately, they want to get their hands on Africa's abundant natural resources and if they play their cards right it will happen even though the West has been trying to stall the process. If the West was smart they would make a move and get involved before China experiences more success. imo
Another key piece
China and Global Health Leadership
China is helping to establish 30 malaria centres in Africa, providing drugs and technical expertise. Over the next two years, staff in these countries will be invited to China for technical training in order to make the programme sustainable. TDR will support these efforts by identifying and supporting African scientists to come to China, and to initiate and support sharing networks.

This is a key component of ARGC. China wants this trial to be successful to further their push into Africa.

The rainy season in the Comoros starts near the end of November so I'm guessing they will start the project in November at the latest. We should hear something by mid November at the latest in terms of the status of the negotiations. imo

This was on the 4/19 pr that I was referring to in my previous post. It doesn't make sense to put this out on a pr when they we're still in the middle of negotiating the terms.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Artepharm-Announces-Joint-iw-1175107071.html?x=0&.v=1
"About Artepharm Global
Artepharm Global has acquired the patent and worldwide marketing rights for Artequick®, a natural artemisinin-based anti-malaria drug developed by Artepharm Co. Artepharm Co. is a modern pharmaceutical company involved in R&D and the manufacturing of artemisinin-based anti-malarias and anti-viral traditional Chinese medicines. It was jointly established by a group of experts specializing in the research of Qinghao, commonly known as Artemisia annua."
The pr does contradict itself because it does state this as well.
"The anti-malarial drug, Artequick®, is currently being marketed in 11 countries where the incident rate of malaria is high. This is an affordable four-pill treatment, which is sufficient to both cure and prevent even the latest strains of malaria. For 2009, Artepharm China generated approximately US$1.5 million. Under the terms of the joint venture, Artepharm Global will acquire the global marketing rights and hold the global patents for the drug Artequick®, as well as retain all the revenues generated from continuing sales in exchange for 40 million shares of the Company."
At this point I'll continue to hold the shares I have but I was expecting a little more on the 2nd 10Q. glta
It's unclear at best but look at the pr from 4/19. I thought based on that pr we would see some change in the language for the 2nd 10Q. The majority of the pr's fell in the 3rd quarter so it's difficult to say for sure exactly what's going on until the 3rd 10Q at the earliest.
I personally thought that we would see some change in the language in the 2nd 10Q and that didn't happen. Looks like this will take longer than I had originally anticipated. glta
Not exactly the kind of language I was looking for in the 10Q. I wasn't expecting any rev's at this time but to release multiple pr's stating that they have aquired the patent and marketing rights to Artequick and then state that it's still being negotiated doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. I guess we're going to have to simply wait and see what happens. glta
I wouldn't expect too much on the 2nd quarter financials. I'm guessing we won't see any revenue until the third quarter financials at the earliest.
As far as professional integrity is concerned, Dr Li has been developing arteminisinin compounds for over 40 years. I highly doubt that he would risk that legacy for a pr stunt. Time will tell but certainly nothing is ever guaranteed with any stock especially otc stocks. imo
The reverse merger is simply a way of placing the revenue's into a public company to further develop the product. If they don't put the revenue into the public company then in essence the merger never took place. I have no doubt that the rev's will show up on the public company's balance sheet. The reason why they want the rev's in a public company is it will then give them an avenue to raise more funds to further market the product.
I highly doubt Dr. Li and Dr. Song are just playing games when they need the public company to be successful. It all makes sense to me and I have no doubt that this will take off when they start showing revenues from the sales of Artequick. I'm expecting rev's on the third quarter report but we might get lucky and see them on the 2nd quarter report. imo
MM's play a lot of games with stock prices. The most important factor related to any stock price is the market cap. If ARGC had a billion shares floating around I wouldn't buy it at this point. The fact that they have 23 million in their float makes this penny stock very attractive imo. Any penny stock is a gamble but I like my chances of making money here at these prices. When more investors decide to buy and hold the price will go up. It doesn't take very many serious investors to tie up 23 million shares at these prices.
Bid is .01 Ask .012 price .009 , Personally I hope they bring it down to .001 and I'll just buy the entire float. :)
After such a steep decline this stock needs to find a base. In time continued progress in the Comoros should lead to an eventual move up to .05 - .10 range. It will most likely take a few weeks or longer for that to happen. The wild card is earnings, they may show the start of earnings on the 2nd quarter report which could be released at any time. If that happens then anything could happen with the share price but I'm sure the days of the sub .10 shares will be gone. I'm expecting some small earnings on the third quarter report but we might get lucky and see them on this past quarter.
Once the larger Comoros project gets under way we should see quite a bit of revenue in a very short period of time. At that point it's off to the races. imo
Only buy this type of stock if you have 6 - 12 month min. timeframe in mind. It's a huge risk / reward investment. I've made my bet / investment and regardless of the share price I'm waiting till next summer to see how this turns out. When a company has a country like China backing them up with seasoned scientist at the helm I'm willing to take the risk.
The interesting thing about the share price is I've seen plenty of companies trading at higher market caps that had significantly less potential. I've learned that patience is a must with these stocks. glta

Dr. Li Gouqiao - lead scientist at Artepharm
http://www.artepharm.com/about/en/2.html
That's the reason for ACT's being the treatment of choice. It's far more difficult for an organism to become resistant to 2 or 3 anti-malaria medications given at the same time.
Currently, the preferred western treatment method involves giving infected people the same treatments multiple times in the same year. The western method of treating malaria clearly doesn't work since roughly the same number of people die from the disease today as they did 40 years ago. It also leads to rapid drug resistant organisms due to the constant retreatment of infected individuals.
There is also a clear western biasis against the Chinese success in treating malaria since they have been able to accomplish some very remarkable results in a very short period of time. The west responds to this by sticking their heads in the sand and making excuses instead of looking at the results. In time a certain threshold will be reached by which the west will no longer be able to deny the results that the Chinese have been able to achieve.
Artequick is also the 4th generation of medication and they're constantly looking to make the medication better based on current medical knowledge. It's also being researched to treat multiple types of cancer due to it's unique attraction to iron receptors sites in the diseased cells.
Interesting perspective from Malaria World. Clearly Artepharm has rattled some powerful people / groups in the West. I just wonder which one is counterfeiting shares via naked shorting to undermine the companies ability to raise funds? All this while 1 million people die every year from Malaria.

It'll be interesting to see how many days ARGC stays on the naked short list.
http://www.buyins.net/tools/short_list.php?ssd=20100729
Yes thats the trade I'm talking about. I was also buying many shares as the share price cratered and I could tell they we're naked shorting this stock. Someone is concerned enough about Artequick to attack the stock right from the beginning. With such a small float it will backfire imo. I've bought a ton of shares for peanuts. (lol) I love trades like this.
Increased rain falls lead to much higher rates of malaria not seen since the 1970's.
http://www.hindustantimes.com/rssfeed/mumbai/3-fold-rise-in-malaria-this-month/Article1-579260.aspx
This doean't surprise me at all given the number of shares being sold at very low prices. When a 1 million share buy doesn't move the price MM's are selling an unlimited number of shares. I loaded up at .01 - .015 and now I'm just going to sit back let this unfold. 23 million shares in the float is easily tied up with just a handful of long term investors at these ridiculously low prices. With 1.5 million revenues from 2009 plus an additional 10 million dollar investment for the Comoros project this is easy money. imo
Cheaper, faster acting, less side effects. Makes you wonder how much longer the WHO can keep Artequick from the million people dying yearly from malaria. It makes you think who is the WHO protecting? The people's health or the other drug companies bottom lines?
http://allafrica.com/stories/201005250063.html
I think the second large project on the Comoros Islands should really open the door for Artequick. They've already had great success in both the Cambodia and Moheli projects. imo

Looks like deforestation leads to a fairly big increase in malaria cases in Brazil. Plenty of need for a quality drug like Artequick. imo
http://health.gresnews.com/ch/Health-News/cl/Malaria/id/104470/Cleared+forests+lead+to+rise+in+malaria+in+Brazil
The funny thing about this stock is when it had very little going for it the price was .40 a share. Then they announced the reverse merger on 4/19 and it basicly went to .01 LOL. These ultra cheap shares have been a great buy imo. As soon as we get the first 10-Q (2nd or 3rd quarter) stating confirmed revenues this won't be a penny stock for much longer as new long term investors replace the day trader crew. It doesn't take many long term investors to lock down 23 million shares especially at these prices. imo
Strong start this morning. 431,000 shares traded in 8 minutes and we're up 74%. It'll be interesting to see how the rest of the day plays out. With the possability of the first sign of earnings on the 2nd quarter 10-Q this could get interesting over the next 3 or 4 weeks. imo

When you have some spare time watch the entire video. It's a good place to start to understand some of the wacky stuff you see in individual stocks especially in the otc / pink markets.

She has a history of writing reports that clearly are very poorly researched. Jianping Song is a key player and it's very difficult to miss his strategic role in Artepharm Company and Artepharm Global. I wonder who pays for some of her reports to be written?

MM's can sell as many shares as they want by using FTD's. They are certainly shaking the tree very hard. The link below is a quick summation of SEAB.
http://seaboardsecurities.com/about.html
All I can say is the float is no where near 23 milion. ;)
Added a few more today. :)
The key with these companies is you have to do alot of dd and then have nerves of steel. The amount of market manipulation is in the otc / pinks is huge. If you don't know what your doing it's easy to get burned. It doesn't take very many of these companies to significantly improve your overall wealth.
Currently a few day traders have been burned. The mm's are just walking it down right thru their stops. You can't use a stop on a stock like this your either in or out. MM's with their bag of FTD's have access to an unlimited amount of shares. You have to keep that in mind when investing in the wild west.
I've been pretty lucky the last few years finding stocks at very low levels that eventually really take off. Nanologix was the most recent one that went from .04 up to a high of around 1.50 over the course of a year. It's fallen back down some now but they have basicly reinvented the standard petri dish. They use micro channels to stack the growth of organisms in a vertical pattern so it takes less time to identify them in the lab.
I like to try and buy at or near the low and sell some after a big spike. It's a little bit of a gamble and it doesn't always work but I've had enough success with it that it makes my blue chip stocks look pretty boring.
Yeah the first link didn't work so I just reposted the second time with the same link in English. This is a risky investment but it's interesting how the pieces are falling together. Other than a few day traders flipping shares most people are completely unaware of the potential of this company. It will take time for the news to slowly get out but I'm definitely looking forward to the start of the second phase of the Comoros project. This should bring in some very good publicity combined with some initial revenue. imo
