Red, the first challenge for these Liberals her in Canada will be the language barrier.
They have to learn to end every sentence they speak with an (eh?)
Just sayin' eh?
Red, I wholly agree with the premise of this story, It is tragic. However, where were the Capital Hill Cubans and the rest of Congress when GM, Ford, Chrysler, Caterpiller, Auto parts manufacturers, major appliance manufacturers et al, off-shored to China, Mexico, Russia, Malaysia, Singapore, resulting in the loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs if not millions. In fact it was Capital Hill that facilitated this off-shoring. Now suddenly they’re concerned over our gutted inner Cities because of a 2 man operation employing 30 people in Cuba?

Re Greek pudding:
To quote an astute observer on another site "Alexis Tsipras was given the Lee Harvey Oswald option"
America Is A Dangerous Flailing Beast.
America has made a costly series of errors over the last half century, demonstrating to others that the America they may have been in awe of in, say, 1950, and may have considered almost godlike and incapable of mistakes, has now proved itself indisputably, in field after field, as often not even capable of governing itself. The irony of a people who are seen as often unable to govern themselves advising others how to govern themselves brings a distinct note of absurdity to American foreign policy.

New Minimum Wage: $70,000 a Year in Seattle
The idea began percolating, said Dan Price, the founder of Gravity Payments, after he read an article on happiness. It showed that, for people who earn less than about $70,000, extra money makes a big difference in their lives.
Hayley Vogt, a 24-year-old communications coordinator at Gravity who earns $45,000, said, “I’m completely blown away right now.” She said she has worried about covering rent increases and a recent emergency room bill.
“Everyone is talking about this $15 minimum wage in Seattle and it’s nice to work someplace where someone is actually doing something about it and not just talking about it,” she said.

Hey Lee - you gotta watch this short clip! hilarious!!!!

Reading and repeating it is Parroting. Critical thinking it is Not!
Bruce - You will be in my prayers......may the good lord be with you!
hear! hear!, yer' bloody right!
Lee the technology is in use already. You can buy self darkening welding helmets even at Harbor Freight today. Adjustable to your desired shade.
Lee - Deflation? Recently I received the following bulletin from my broker with my monthly statement.
"BMO Investorline self directed clients now pay a flat fee of $9.95 per equity trade - with no minimum account balance or trade activity required."
It used to be $29 buy and $29 sell. with minimum balance of $5000.
Are they getting generous or desperate?
Zab - Russia did not take over parts of Ukraine. In Crimea there was a referendum with international observers present. They voted to secede and join Russia overwhelmingly, 90%+. As for the Russian speaking eastern part of Ukraine, they are still part of Ukraine simply defending themselves.
The new unelected government of Ukraine (Yatsenuke, Timoshenko et al) called for the elimination of the Russian language in Ukraine and the elimination (genocide) of all Russian speakers in Ukraine, in fact Timoshenko, called for nuking eastern Ukraine.
These Russian speakers have lived there for generations and until recently were historically always a part of Russia.
How would you react under the same circumstances?
Ship of Warmist Fools to get bill for rescue
The Federal Government of Australia laid out $2.4 million (Australian dollars) to help rescue the ship full of global warming true believers, who got ice-bound in Antarctic waters they were dead certain had to be melting. And now it wants to (be) paid back for that needless expense.

Red,It was Bush2 who declared mission accomplished in Iraq, not Obama!
In Canada the Chinese bought a coal mine in central B.C. Now they want to bring in Chinese miners to mine it!
This cannot be achieved By stymieing the increase of the minimum wage in any country, including the U.S. The war on unions presently being waged in The U.S. is atrocious, only they (the Unions) were responsible for creating the middle class in America, not the benevolence of the corporations.
Premature US Victory-Dancing on Ukraine .. ..
Long read but worth reading!
The post-coup election of a pro-Western politician as president of Ukraine – and the escalating slaughter of lightly armed anti-coup rebels in the east – have created a celebratory mood in Official Washington, but the victory dance may be premature, says ex-CIA analyst Ray McGovern.........snip........“The U.S. has no other than Victoria Nuland, and Hillary Clinton who installed her as Assistant Secretary of State for Europe, to thank for this foolish mess.” "

Perhaps they get them from the same place they get all their weapons, their supporters....the U.S., Saudi Arabia, Turkey et al.....take your pick. When an "event" is planned, anything and everything is available, including "plausible deniability"
back2basics, Follow-the-money........who does this benefit.......Assad or the Rebels?
Chris, Are we, the U.S., currently not in the process of installing a neo nazi regime in the Ukraine?
Nice truth revealing post Lee. As an aside, Zeev would never have condoned the politics this board has turned too. "Current events" is simply a euphemism for a free-for-all-anything-goes.
Russia halts rocket exports to US,
While the space station is the most visible sign of the superpowers' collaboration, it is the loss of the RD-180 engines that will really hurt, according to space commentator Brian Harvey, who has reported on the Russian space programme since the 1970s.
"For the Americans not to take RD-180s any more would probably be quite disruptive of their space programme in the medium-term," he says. This is because of the time it would take to develop a replacement.
"Most people don't realise just how advanced and powerful Russian rocket engines are," says Harvey.

borusa, yeh, don't we all want to take our Ladies out for a nice dinner, but that's two days pay for minimum wagers!
Dan, you are being selective. I did not ask you what "status quo" means. I asked what "consumer status quo" means.
Dan, if I recall correctly the minimum wage increase was to be implemented over a period of years, not all at once. Inflation will have taken a big bite by the time full implementation arrived.
What does "consumer status quo mean"?
Red, perhaps your forgetting something. The U.S. economy is over 70% consumer driven. Who are these anti-minimum-wage small businesses selling their product too........Jamaica? The more wealth j6p has the stronger the economy. Wage earners are the lifeblood of small business.
Could you even begin to imagine the massive shutting down of small businesses that couldn't find consumers with enough money to buy their product.
"the US is undoubtedly in a punishing mood. What accounts for it?.........
Yes, it has to be the unprecedented humiliation and damage caused to the US’ global standing and foreign and security policies by the Edward Snowden affair, which Washington believes was masterminded from the Kremlin. It’s payback time for the CIA."

Hey Red, methinks Genghis Kahn once passed through Germany, goodness gracious, the new CEO must be a barbarian!
Perhaps the old adage of " follow the money" and who does it benefit? applies here. Casting doubt on eastern Ukraine benefits Kiev.
Rose, Perhaps the old adage of " follow the money" and who does it benefit? applies here. Casting doubt on eastern Ukraine benefits Kiev.
The only terrorists in Ukraine are in Kiev, attempting to pit Ukrainians against Ukrainians. The only territory they control are the chairs they occupy in Kiev. Couldn’t they at least have given the “deployed” soldiers a few hryvnia each, so they could stop at McDonalds along the way and wolf down a “big mac” or something.
A "Colin Powell" moment at NATO!
Dan - two and a half gallon gas tank, and how big might the water tank be?
