Are these people involved in getting the Vegas train going? Their company has little to do with railroading it seems.
Did the Reno Xpress ever run? The webesite booking page says there was one on Jan. 21st, but i can't find any more info on it.
I just noticed that United Rail Inc. has a "(PK)" after it. I don't remember seeing that before. Can someone tell me what PK means?
What a nice Christmas present!
Trolling someone on Facebook is something I would not recommend. Besides being snooping in on someone's personal life, it could possibly count as insider information. How did you even get to see this? Was it a public post or did you "friend" him for your own personal gain?
I read somewhere the LOI was with the Rio.
From what I gather from various Facebook groups, a green group called the Adirondak Council put a request into the Surface Transportation Board to declare the line abandoned quickly before that United Rail or any other railroad could buy it. They want the corridor for a fail trail. The STB accepted their petition and had a time period for anyone to object. Some have and now we are waiting to hear the final decision.
United Rail's Reno Xpress webpage is down. :(
The reason why the wine train stopped is that it was attached to the end of the Amtrak train. Amtrak has increased their fees dramatically for hauling and storing private railcars. There has been, of course, some complaints from railcar owners and hopefully the fees can be brought back to a reasonable level.
United Rail is hoping to take tourists from Manhattan to Lake Placid and everywhere in between for skiers, hikers, campers, etc. The die-hard cyclists want the rails for themselves. The Department of Environmental Conservation wants public input on what to do.
Public comments will be taken until Aug. 12 this year on the draft scope any impacts the proposed actions may have. Written comments may be mailed to John Schmid, NYSDEC, 625 Broadway, Albany, NY, 12233, or emailed to adirondackpark@dec.ny.gov.
Tell them why you think it should stay as rails should stay. I don't think "I am a shareholder" would sway them. lol.

Any success United Rail has could help fund Vegas train.

I was at first excited when I read this, but when I calmed down and read it again it says they have "begun the Vegas Xpress Project" This says nothing definite and nothing new. So I'll just sit and wait like I have been over the last 4 years. Fingers crossed!
I am not near there but have been following the situation in the Adironacks. I think this is a better plan for the area than a trail. Trails work well in some areas, but I don't think it would attract enough riders to really add enough to the local economy. Right now people can take Amtrak to the nearest station, but then have to transfer to busses. If United Rail could hook up coach and lounge cars on Amtrak from Manhattan for dinner on the way out and breakfast on the way back and a baggage car for people's gear, the passengers would never have to step off because United can take over and go the rest of the way to the ski resort. This would also be great for the other seasons for people who want to hike and camp. They can also bring people's bikes to do the premier mountain bikes in the region.
Well, Virgin Rail is getting delayed two years. That will give us some breathing room.

Let's hope they can start operations this fall! I'll be there for the leaves!

Why are you looking at Mr. Barron's Linkedin? Are you stalking him on Facebook, too? I understand you want info as an inverstor, but IMO his personal social media pages are not the places for you to hound him with your questions and share his personal posts with the world. IMO you should be either e-mailing at his work address or going to the Facebook for Linkedin pages for Las Vegas Express.
sorry, i meant to post this one. It is the 10K report from 04/15/2019...
"Accordingly, the Company plans to operate an excursion passenger rail service between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. The service will operate as an Amtrak train on the Union Pacific Railroad, BNSF railroad and Metrolink railroad under Amtrak's access entitlement. The X Train will be stored in Amtrak's 8 th Street yard in Los Angeles and the consist will be assembled there by Amtrak switching engines. Each consist will be made up eleven Amtrak passenger railcars deployed specifically for this service. Each railcar will be retrofitted with a Las Vegas motif. Each train will consist of 11 railcars with a total capacity of approximately 444 passengers."

Over the last 18 months, we have been engaged in activities designed to secure the necessary rights, equipment and facilities required to commence commercial service in the fall of 2015. These include: hiring Amtrak to provide regularly scheduled excursion charter services on the LA to Las Vegas route, purchasing or leasing appropriate locomotive and passenger cars designed to move passengers over the route in comfort; and securing leases on terminal facilities and passenger depots in Los Angeles and in Las Vegas.
We are assisted in this project by North Star Rail, LLC, which owns the rail set of passenger cars we plan to lease. We have an agreement with them to manage for us the charter process with Amtrak as well as leasing their rail car consist to run on our planned route.

According the the last report from the company, First Group is no longer involved. Engine and crew are now being supplied by Amtrak.
looks like it according to the report....unless more had been added since then and will show up on the next report.
For those wondering when the convertible and promissory notes end, I did a quick scan of the last posted 10-Q ended 9/30/2018 and from what I saw the last of it is April 30th. You can read the whole thing here:

Lets's hope it is the last of it!
i should have just spent my $600 to attend the meeting. I would have had a better return on my investment from the lunch.
So they say they moved United Rail's cars to Las Vegas. Where are the pics of them? There was also talk of newer Bi-Level Bombardier coaches that were going to be updated. Where are teaser pics of them being worked on? How about the locomotive that First Group is going to use?
Good morning, LVXI!
Who/What is OTCX?
Thanks!
Union Pacific announced PTC has been installed on all major routes. This now makes passenger use possible for the X-Train!

Good news for the X-Train. This could bring more passengers from downtown and along metrolink’s route.

That sounds great, but they as of yet have no agreement with Union Pacific to use their rails.

Brightline is taking over Xpresswest. Looking to run in 2022. We’re screwed.
Can you please explain this in layman's terms what this is about?
Geez! No need to get all excited. I am new to investing and googled why a company would do a reverse split.
I thought Amtrak had agreements with all the class-I railroads that they can be the only inter-city operator allowed on their lines. Of course, that could have changed.
The main reason for the reverse split is that the company can be listed on the NYSE to attract new investors.
Thanks, Amtrak, for crushing our dreams by no longer offering charter services.
I like lobster. I wish I was invited. :(
Amtrak is making a few exeptions. Hopefully this will be one of them.
Since Amtrak no longer wants to deal with charters and private cars, perhaps they are going to give up their monopoly and let the freight railroads provide engines and crew instead.
