Where was this information published originally? "As you are aware?" What a joke. How was anyone made aware? In any event, Artfink thanks for sharing more info with shareholders than our illustrious company officials ever did. Going back to lurking now. GLTA
My TDAmeritrade shows N/A still in the cusip, and in the tab for more info shows 1:10000 and "Do Not Sell". Hope they update soon. Back to lurking. GLTA.
Thanks, actually the same thing happened to me on RB probably around the same time as you guys, but it didn't bother me as much over there as I never really liked that place. iHub is more civil usually, so I thought it would be a shame to get banned by mistake again. But anyway I'm sticking to the company board from now on, unless I see a PR that nobody has posted here yet. Cheers.
To the board moderator. I just want to be clear that another party is posting with a similar name to mine. My name is Tom, and I also post on the BSEG board as gilx. If you need to contact me privately to verify my identity, I'm completely open to that. I do not start or engage in message board arguments and will usually only repost PR's if someone hasn't already beaten me to it. I don't know why someone would ask that I be banned for that, but since they are using an alias almost identical to mine, please double check the alias before doing any banning, since there is obvously some intent here to confuse the board with similar alii.
To the poster using a similar alias to mine, all I would ask is that if you have an opinion to post, use a unique name. Personally, I have no problem with people airing their opinions, but causing confusion surrounding poster identities is counter productive.
Thanks, and Peace.

New Burt Reynolds Film to Hit Theaters in October
Wednesday September 13, 10:45 am ET
HOLLYWOOD--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 13, 2006--Big Screen Entertainment Group (OTC:BSEG - News) announces that its Burt Reynolds/Raquel Welch action comedy "Forget About It," will have its theatrical premiere in October. The film has already been booked into several Northeastern cites, and negotiations are underway to continue the roll-out across the country. "We're all excited to get this funny, feel-good film into theaters," said BSEG president David Zappone. "Audiences will love the chemistry between Burt and Raquel, and we have an incredibly strong supporting cast, which includes Academy Award nominee Charles Durning, Robert Loggia, Richard Grieco and Phyllis Diller."
BSEG recently won a court ruling, affirming its ownership of the film and barring interference with its distribution of it. "There were disagreements between BSEG and the film's director regarding ownership of the film which the court considered and ruled in our favor," Zappone said.
"We're pleased with the court's ruling. What's important to everyone involved is that the product of years of hard work be seen by the public. We appreciate the work that the film's director did, and wish him the best in his future endeavors," stated BSEG CEO Kimberley Kates.
"Forget About It" tells the story of three retired military men (Reynolds, Loggia and Durning) living in a trailer park in Arizona and their still very sexy, ex-showgirl neighbor (Raquel Welch). The trios peaceful golden years are suddenly given a much needed jolt when they find a suitcase full of cash buried in the desert. The new millionaires soon discover the money actually belongs to a mobster in the witness protection program.
"It's the classic fish out of water story. We've got elements of "The Sopranos" and "Grumpy Old Men," plus Burt Reynolds and Raquel Welch. The result is a very entertaining movie," Zappone said.
OT: Jever, I saw your post while lurking around. Good news/ bad news time: The Omega Man (you probably know this) is based on the Richard Matheson story "I Am Legend." It is being developed into a new movie right now. You can Google it and find some tidbits about it. I think it's still in the early stages, so you might still get your ideas out there if you act now! Best wishes.
Check out Showcase Entertainment's site, they have a healthy roster including some upcoming 2006 National Lampoon movies (Cattle Call, Dorm Daze 2):

Dspetry, Cool post! I used to live in NB (Rutgers grad '88) and sounds like you were in my old neighborhood. Hope you had a chance to grab a beer at McCormick's or the Ale n' Witch! Great pubs! Used to walk by Robert Wood all the time, on my way to the train station as you mentioned. I missed the boat on the XKEM action this week due to lack of free funds but will be looking for an entry next week. Watched in awe the last couple of days. Your post took me home again for a moment (I'm out in CA now) so just wanted to say thanks. GLTA.
I was thinking about what the TFN programming schedule must be like to watch with all the different disciplines of fighting all mixed together on one station, plus movies, etc, and then thought how well the TFN concept lends itself to a multiple channel scenario (eventually?). I've only been reading the board since last week, so odds are this has been hashed over already, but I just got excited by the possibilities. Just like they have MTV1, MTV2, etc, focusing on different areas of the music world, there could easily be Fight1, Fight2, Fight3 some day, each focusing on different styles of fighting, news and analysis, discipline and training ("the fighting life" reality-type stuff for amatuers/hopefuls), movies, and so on. I know a network needs to crawl before it can walk, and would take deep pockets to put it all together, but it seems like a natural potential down the line if things really take off. Just some random hopeful daydreaming for a slow weekend. Bought at 0008 on Tuesday and not worried about pps fluctuations. Too much potential here. Cheers.
Ryan Bennett story picked up on a few sites.
Hope it's not too morbid to post these, they were picked up by my Yahoo alert for TFN today. Apologies if they are repeats. Hope to post more cheerful DD in future, obviously. Everyone have a good weekend.

A digital intermediate is when the original film negative is scanned into a digital file, frame by frame. Then the digital frames are used for all "intermediate" work (visual effects, color timing, editing, etc.) and the final composite files are then written back to film by another machine called a laser film recorder. This reduces the image loss that is typically accrued by doing those steps optically (using more generations of film prints, each one degrading the image slightly) and so it protects image quality and also provides a lossless (digital) method of archiving the film image. That's my real bare-bones understanding of it. I work at a visual effects house, so I hear the term bandied about more and more often these days. I'm not in a techie department, though, or I'd be able to tell you more. I do know that we receive DI's instead of film quite often these days, and our film scanner is starting to gather dust in the corner. Cheers.
Got in at 0008 in the last moments with 6mm shares.
On the fence all day looking for gap to fill, but then said what the hell. Fight Channel seems like a natural to me, a marketer's dream. Hoping it will get picked up by a big carrier and then I won't care that I didn't save a hundredth of a penny per share. Here's hoping. GLTA.
Q gets GLAAD award.
Sorry if this is a repeat.

"On March 27, at a separate GLAAD awards ceremony in New York, here!, Logo and Q Television Network received the Barbara Gittings Award, FX's "30 Days" won for outstanding reality program, and "The Oprah Winfrey Show" won for outstanding talk show episode. Discovery Times Channel and ESPN's "SportsCenter" took home TV journalism awards. "
Q is still scheduled to appear at the National Show in April. Would be interesting now to see exactly who shows up to represent them, and what they have to say. Anyone in Atlanta:

Big Screen Entertainment Announces Theatrical Release of Feature Film 'Forget About It'
Wednesday October 19, 1:40 pm ET
HOLLYWOOD--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 19, 2005--Big Screen Entertainment Group (OTC:BSEG - News) announces that the first official screening of feature film "Forget About It" took place on Oct. 14, 2005, in Hoboken, N.J., with a resounding success.
Big Screen Entertainment, in association with Hoboken Pictures, were joined by the New Jersey Film Commission representatives, and local and state politicians at this VIP exclusive, advanced screening. A reception was held after the screening at the prestigious Stevens Institute of Engineering. The lavish cocktail reception that followed the screening was catered by Carlo's Bakery and Tony's Italian Delicatessen of Hoboken.
BSEG CEO Kimberley Kates and Hoboken Pictures CEO Anthony Falco welcomed the accolades of the guests in attendance after Producer/Director BJ Davis reunited film legends Burt Reynolds and Raquel Welch on the big screen in "Forget About It."
Big Screen Entertainment has secured theatrical distribution at selected theater chains for January 2006 release.
Davis and Kates anticipate a major domestic release, with all foreign markets to be sold at the American Film Market on Nov. 2, 2005, in Santa Monica, Calif. Davis and Kates will be in attendance, representing "Forget About It" for Big Screen Entertainment. The film will be available to buyers internationally and domestically at selected screenings during the film market.
A new Web site and film trailer for the movie "Forget About It" has been launched at www.forgetaboutitthefilm.com.
FAI trailer has been added to the American Film Market website, here:

FAI website is up and running! Looks great!

Still some features that are "coming soon" but a very attractive site overall.
Hi Stockcracker,
Yes, I've been following this company with great interest for a while, but it is largely on my own gut feeling, along with the little education I have from working in the visual effects industry which allows me to hear and see some things about how movies get made and distributed. But please don't give my thoughts on it too much weight, I'm speculating here. Some of what you mention is stuff we're just not going to hear all the details on, especially with a non reporting company. But here's my take in some of those areas for what it's worth.
While the company mentioned they are talking to theatrical entities, we don't know really how much self distribution they will be handling just yet. I was mainly just surprised that they were getting into it at all, since it's a lot of work and a tough racket. However I'd be surprised if they handled all of it themselves, especially where major advertising dollars are needed. With Burt Reynolds' face (and others) on the poster, I'm not too worried where the advertising dollars are coming from; if they need a distributor to exploit the film in a certain market, one will come forward given the name recognition of all the stars in the film (imo). Just the fact that they are starting to handle some of it themselves says to me that they must be somewhat savvy and cost conscious, which I like. An update on their site today mentioned the FAI website will be up in about a week, so we can start watching there soon for indications on the handling of that film.
As far as the management team, I know there are many people in entertainment who are great at what they do, with very successful careers, and you never hear their names. So it's possible I might invest in a film company even without recognized names on the board, depending on what they were doing. Kimberly Kates happens to be a name some people have heard, so that's just gravy to me. I suspect she's also surrounded by many other people with skill and experience or BSEG would not have names like Reynolds, Larry Gross, or Gus van Sant doing business. I think Lightfield Lewis is also Juliette Lewis' brother and I believe he's joined the board. Seems that family grew up in the biz, so that's good news for us.
In terms of economics, I know that a movie can make enough in DVDs and foreign markets to recoup that kind of budget and turn a profit, and that I have seen firsthand. So it "can" happen...doesn't mean it "will" happen, but you buys your ticket and you takes your chance.
Where did you first hear of the company? I found it while I was specifically looking for film companies since that's my area of interest, but I'm wondering how many others out there got into it through that angle, versus purely as a stock play? Cheers.
Forget About It pr mention:

I got the same mail earlier this week too, just to pipe in. eom.
BSEG added to Subway focus list. Whatever that is:
http://biz.yahoo.com/iw/051005/097100.html
Nope. Aside from the screening on the 14th I don't think a theatrical release date has been set yet. It sounds like they are self-distributing, as they are in talks with "theatrical entities" instead of with distributors. The film is listed on the screening schedule at the American Film Market, so let's hope they have a nice reception by the markets represented at the event:
http://media.mavice.com/afm2005/Content.php?Film=2472
I think we'll start hearing some dates soon, perhaps after the AFM.
Nope. But I visited after seeing your post and it didn't look too positive over there. Some obvious exaggerations though, I agree.
Australian rights have been bought by MadMan Entertainment:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327643/companycredits
Not sure how new that listing is, but it's the first time I noticed it.
It's opening day, and DL is still #1 movie at iFilm. That can't hurt.
I'm confused, but I'm pleased. People are making their movie plans for tonight right now from their computers at work.
Yep, the publicity is all good. Apparently he has 8 million listeners, although I haven't heard him in years. His website says he's going to Sirius radio imminently, so there's some of the protection you menitoned, lol.

Found it.
Stern reportedly has 8 million listeners.
Jenny on Howard Stern this morning?
Anyone catch it? Someone just told me that I missed it, but she was great.

DEJ is Blockbuster??!
Am I the only schmoe who didn't realize this before? That's huge! I saw them in the opening credits, but thought they were just another financier.
From the company board today, regarding DEJ's involvement with Dirty Love:
"By the way, DEJ who is one of our distribution sources (also owns BLOCKBUSTER, just a little video outlet store some of you may have heard of...). I think they might be doing a good job on promoting one of thier first films with their label on it. What do you think?"
And from another movie-related board regarding DEJ:
"If you sign with DEJ, the good news is that your movie will be released by a major studio (DEJ licenses out its releases to Lions Gate, Fox, etc.) and you'll get a whole row on a Blockbuster shelf in many markets, as its in thier best interest to promote your film in-store."
http://chud.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1145527
At least Ebert and Roeper took a special interest in panning DL, lol.
Some of the highlights:
"You have to give Jenny McCarthy points for flat out fearlessness."
"There is something fascinating about watching her demean herself in myriad ways, all in the name of getting a laugh..."
"Terrible, in kind of a more interesting way than lazy more forgettable junk such as The Dukes of Hazard and The Underclassman."
You can hear the lowlights for yourself at their website.
I read another review earlier which was the 2nd person to compare it to a John Waters film. I think it will find an audience, fingers crossed....
"Forget About It advanced screening has been bumped to October 14, 2005 in Hoboken, New Jersey."
From the moderator of the company board, posted yesterday.
Jenny McCarthy farts on camera in this new clip:
http://www.hollywood.com/movies/mm/nav/1/id/2444929
You don't get that every day.
Dirty Love is the #1 most popular movie at iFilm, at this very moment anyway.
I had to take a screencap of it when I got home just so I'll still believe it tomorrow...g'night.
Trailer premiere at AOL Moviefone:
http://movies.aol.com/
http://movies.channel.aol.com/movie/main.adp?mid=21158
First pretty positive DL review I've seen:
http://www.moviesonline.ca/movie_review_detail.php?id=645
"...DIRTY LOVE hits an all time high for disgustingly brilliant slapstick. Along similar lines to a John Waters film..."
"Jenny is like Jerry Lewis in this film, generously adlibbing and giving that extra piece of herself in order to sell each bit."
"...she finds herself in a strange situation that involves ecstasy, LSD, and a guy with a fetish for large-mouth Bass."
"Although the gross out factor in DIRTY LOVE is off the charts, the film is not singularly focused. Rebecca's overdramatic breakdown scenes of hysterical fits of crying and rage are like watching Sally Field go nuts after Shelby's death, but funny."
"Recently, DIRTY LOVE premiered at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival where McCarthy and Asher received a standing ovation from the audience."
I think it says "most popular viewed", so yes. It might mean number of views of the actual video. Not sure.
