Verizon buying 37 million miles of fiber to boost its wireless network
Verizon buys fiber from Corning, with a focus on wireless Internet—not FiOS.

Verizon has struck a deal with Corning to purchase up to 37.2 million miles of optical fiber and related hardware over the next three years, with Verizon planning to use that fiber to boost capacity and lower latency in its wireless network.
"The agreement calls for Corning to provide and Verizon to purchase up to 20 million kilometers (12.4 million miles) of optical fiber each year from 2018 through 2020, with a minimum purchase commitment of $1.05 billion," Verizon said in its announcement of the purchase agreement today.
The fiber will be used for network improvements "designed to improve Verizon’s 4G LTE coverage, speed the deployment of 5G, and deliver high-speed broadband to homes and businesses of all sizes." But while Verizon mentioned both mobile and home Internet service, this doesn't mean there will be any unexpected expansions of FiOS, Verizon's fiber-to-the-home service.

Verizon is piloting what it calls 5G wireless home Internet with customers in 11 markets in the first half of 2017. Those markets are Ann Arbor, Atlanta, Bernardsville (NJ), Brockton (MA), Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami, Sacramento, Seattle and Washington, DC.
Verizon says it can deliver gigabit broadband speeds over wireless by bringing fiber closer to homes without the expense of bringing fiber all the way into each building. The 5G wireless trial will also bring a Verizon home Internet service to some places outside the company's landline telephone network territory in the Northeast US.
Verizon's announcement said there's a shortfall in fiber supply in the industry but that the deal with Corning will ensure that it can meet construction schedules.
It’s cheaper not to bring fiber to each home
Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam appeared on CNBC today and was asked why Verizon doesn't just install fiber to each home.
"Why not just take the fiber all the way to the home like you had with FiOS?" asked CNBC's David Faber. "Does it save you a lot of money to have 5G for that last little bit to the home?"
"Yeah, absolutely," McAdam answered. The CEO continued, "when we deployed FiOS, we would run a strand into a neighborhood, a cable that had maybe six or eight strands [of fiber] in it. Now we're going to drop off six or eight strands to every streetlight in every neighborhood. That allows you to deliver a gigabit of throughput into the home and allows you to do things like intelligent transportation grids, intelligent electric grid management, water system management. You hear a lot about autonomous cars and things like that today. That does not work without 5G."
Upgrades to previous network generations 2G, 3G, and 4G were mostly about capacity and throughput, McAdam said. Capacity and throughput will still get big upgrades with 5G, but the new architecture will also deliver much lower latency.
"The network will go out and come back and respond in less than the time it takes to blink your eye," he said.
Wialan provides high speed wi fi networks for marinas, hotels, airports and regional parks. Wialan just developed the first of its kind wi fi hotspot network by inserting wi fi radios into street lights in Miami Dade county. The inclusion of a wi fi radio into the street lighting fixture allows for a wireless mesh to be created providing for high speed internet access on the roadways and adjacent businesses.

He is that as you describe and at one time I was holding quite a bit but the company is at a juncture for turning things around .. I've it still pegged on my watch list as you obviously because of your response here on this board.. I'll like to see management changes and RS out of sub penny level and steady revenue generated stream those are my criteria to get some more
I do clean and renewable energy is here to stay and mass adoption is slowly but surely taking time but make no mistake it the future for energy solar will play a major role and battery storage as the technology keeps improving been trying to get Tom to get with it finally xsun will now offer battery storage along with its panels... been waiting a long time for this. We're going to see turn around IMHO
Most likely we'll see a split IMO
Something beginning to look good with battery storage this will now turn around xsnx finally been waiting for this day to arrive
Long and strong...

FCC Opens Up High-Frequency Radio Spectrum for 5G Network
U.S. telecom giants Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ - Analyst Report) and AT&T Inc. (T - Analyst Report) together with major chipset developers Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM - Analyst Report) and Intel Corp. (INTC - Analyst Report) have welcomed the FCC’s decision. According to the research firm ABI Research, 5G network deployment is expected to ramp up after 2020 and its market size may reach $247 billion worldwide by 2025.
http://www.cnet.com/news/verizon-5g-inside-field-test-smokin-super-fast-speeds/
So what exactly is the FCC's plan? Wheeler basically wants to leave it up to the market, as the commission did for 4G before it. The commission will open up a bunch of new wireless spectrum — which is what companies like AT&T and Verizon use to beam data from their towers to your cellphones — and then leave phone companies and other competitors to do what they'd like with it. The commission is pretty sure it'll all work out.
Utilizing the 4.9 GHz public safety frequency and wireless equipment, Wialan's Early Warning System (WEWS) delivers real time data through an early warning system and real time camera access.
"We believe that the RISE:NYC competition will expose the world to Wialan Technologies' unique contribution to solving communications problems associated with natural disasters and other emergency situations existing in cities and beaches worldwide. Wialan will continue to push for the usage of the WEWS technology to provide efficient communications channels to notify people of impending dangerous conditions or natural disasters," commented Victor Tapia, Wialan's Chief Technology Director.

As exciting as 5G is, it comes with some major technical hurdles. Signals for 5G won't be able to travel very far and won't be great at penetrating buildings. That means they'll require extensive cell tower deployment — which will be time consuming and expensive. New technologies will also be needed to let mobile devices keep track of 5G signals, which may need to be steered and aimed, rather than blanketing an area the way traditional wireless technologies have.
Some work has already started on all of this. Verizon recently began 5G tests, and AT&T intends to begin outdoor 5G tests over the summer. We've also seen 5G work from Google, Samsung, and a startup called Starry. This is all necessary to make 5G actually happen. They're the ones that'll have to overcome 5G's limitations and — hopefully — eventually land on a standard that'll make devices interoperable.
That's all still a few years out, at the earliest. But this week's actions by the FCC signal that it's moving toward reality.

NTEK THE REAL DEAL CALL THE SEC!!! PERIOD “We are getting increasingly aggressive and adept at ridding the microcap marketplace of dormant shells within a year of the companies becoming inactive.”
SEC Suspends Trading in 128 Dormant Shell Companies to Put Them Out of Reach of Microcap Fraudsters
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2015-44
Washington D.C., March 2, 2015 — The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced it has suspended trading in 128 inactive penny stock companies to ensure they don’t become a source for pump-and-dump schemes.
The trading suspensions are the latest in a microcap fraud-fighting initiative known as Operation Shell-Expel in which the SEC Enforcement Division’s Office of Market Intelligence utilizes technology to scour the over-the-counter (OTC) marketplace and identify dormant companies ripe for abuse. The proactive efforts have prevented fraudsters from having the opportunity to manipulate these thinly-traded stocks by pumping the companies’ stock value through false and misleading promotional campaigns and then dumping the stocks after investors buy in.
Since it began in 2012, Operation Shell-Expel has resulted in trading suspensions of more than 800 microcap stocks, which comprises more than 8 percent of the OTC market. Once a stock has been suspended from trading, it cannot be relisted unless the company provides updated financial information to prove it’s actually operational. It’s extremely rare for a company to fulfill this requirement, and the trading suspensions essentially render the shells worthless and useless to scam artists.
“Operation Shell-Expel continues to be an efficient way to combat microcap fraud by denying fraudsters the empty nests they need to hatch their schemes,” Andrew J. Ceresney, Director of the SEC Enforcement Division. “We are getting increasingly aggressive and adept at ridding the microcap marketplace of dormant shells within a year of the companies becoming inactive.”
Today’s massive trading suspension identifies dormant shell companies in 24 states and Canada.
The Operation Shell-Expel initiative has been led by William Hankins, Margaret Cain, Robert Bernstein, Victoria Adraktas, LaVerne Patterson, Jessica P. Regan, Leigh Barrett, and John Gibbons in the Office of Market Intelligence with assistance from the Enforcement Division’s Delinquent Filings Group. The SEC appreciates the assistance of the FBI’s Economic Crimes Unit.
Facts are facts say it ain't so Monday will be 13 days since any established bottom was called and after testing it we have now an established up trend Ntek is in unstoppable mode period
