Quote: Any ideas as to why Judd Laird wanted that Juno permit so badly?
__________________________________
No but Laird knew as much about Spanish shipwrecks and treasure as Kennedy does. Very little. When someone of the caliber of Robert Marx walks away from a site such as Juno, it makes one wonder.
Quote: Raider a question for you since you know more about Juno than others here. Do you know if previous searchers actually located the large ballast pile? Or what all did they locate I guess is what I'm curious about.
________________________________________
It is my understanding that Bob Marx and David Foster (the Judd Laird period) dove the ballast pile numerous times. I was not aware until recently that marine archaeologist Duncan Mathewson (Mel Fisher's archaeologist) had also examined the site years ago.
Well as anyone can see, the marine forecast is good just as it has been for numerous days past. So naturally the question is 'where's the treasure? Knowing that neither Kennedy or Reynolds have any salvage experience, I wonder who (with experience) is running the show in + - 80 feet of water? When's show time?

The marine forecasts remain good. I would imagine that with these conditions and all the time they've had to prepare, they could proceed to do an 'intrusive proofing' excavation of the strongest treasure target produced by SeaSearcher. That is the 'bottom-line' isn't it?

Quote: I really think the SeaSearcher tech is designed to go after larger targets and that's what the focus has been on primarily. imo the time is being spent on perfecting the technology for that purpose and not to find individual coins. I'm guessing they are there but that's not the goal of the SeaSearcher.

I fully understand that and certainly agree. Here once again it all comes back to the 'bottom-line' of has SeaSearcher identified and pin-pointed concentrations of gold and silver treasure? I have already rendered my opinion so no need to repeat it again.
Quote: FWIW concerning the coin from the Juno wreck from SFRX Facebook:
"this was discovered while hand fanning on the site"
Can't wait to see what all they find when the start going after the treasure targets.

Thank you for the clarification. Nevertheless, let me say that when on a treasure laden shipwreck there should be coins here, there, and everywhere. Not just one little coin. That could have been easily determined just by using ferrous non-ferrous underwater metal detectors even before application of SeaSearcher. Back to the bottom line:
Can't wait to see what all they find when the start going after the treasure targets.
Quote: Just knowing the history about it would be great not to mention treasure.
_____________________________
Treasure or no treasure. It's an intriguing shipwreck. Up to now - a mystery.
Quote: Raider: so it seems to me that since Roger Smith documented the wreck as a mid-1500s wreck years ago and SFRX has recovered a mid-1500s coin that the evidence is good that it is indeed a 1500 wreck site. Would you agree with that? I would think that is some pretty big news that has been verified.

____________________________________________
I don't believe there was ever any doubt that the Juno site was likely mid-16th Century. That was determined well before SFRX involvement. Later, I believe marine archaeologist jim Sinclair came to the same conclusion.
As I had accurately predicted the Melbourne site was flotsam and not an actual wreck site, I also predict that the Juno wreck was a scuttling (deliberately done). Although not common, this happened on other occasions. One was the Almiranta of the 1598 New Spain fleet out of Havana. Having made it out of the Ne Bahama Canal, she was leaking badly and couldn't be repaired. With seas calm, everything was transferred off of her onto two other ships and she was left to sink. In my opinion, that's possibly what happened at Juno thus the reason why the site is devoid of cannons. Of course that's just my opinion. If there is treasure there, and SeaSearcher proves that, then my theory is wrong.
Quote: The coin aligns with the current site context and is similar to coins identified in the Florida Master Site File as documented by the State Archaeologist at the time, the late Roger Smith.
___________________________________
If I'm wrong and need to be corrected (factually), its my understanding that single little coin was not recovered by SFRX. Supposedly goes back decades to when Sir Robert Marx and David Foster were working the site. Furthermore its said that it was found on the beach.
So dig the SeaSearch "treasure is here" readings and cease with all the rest of the nonsense.
Quote: I'm thinking that the way they intend to excavate the treasure targets will benefit the divers doing the work and the currents will not be a factor.
________________________________
The current should not prove to be a factor. I say this because I actually know two divers who were on the wreck site many years ago. They never mentioned problems with the current.
Sea conditions continue good. As previously stated, current conditions should not hinder experienced divers.

Quote: If you have any thoughts that they won't dig you are totally mistaken. Not if they dig but when.
____________________________________________________
I never believed otherwise.
Let me say this regarding currents (not application of SeaSearcher but actual excavations). As a dive team member at the time, we did airlift excavation in 98 ft. of water off of Cape Hatteras. The current was that strong that dive teams had to go down via descending line. On the bottom were safety lines attaches to sand augers that the divers would grip onto, otherwise being carried away by current. Professional divers with experience can handle the Juno site currents.
I believe SFRX has had plenty of time to prepare. I would assume it's proof time for SeaSearcher; The treasure. Is it or isn't it? With the exception of the seas being flat calm the conditions couldn't be better. Should be show time.

Thank you but won't be necessary on my part. With the exception of the prospects of SeaSearcher yet to be on-site proven, this company has nothing to offer. I say that based upon the fact they have never found or excavated a shipwreck. For the sake of you who are invested here I would say SeaSearcher is your only hope.
Quote: Exactly! It’s the equipment that will be a game changer once it’s proven! Jmo Can you imagine how many months/ years other companies could have shortened their searches using this equipment? Game changer! Once proven! Jmo

No not Exactly. Even assuming SeaSearcher does what it's claimed to do, its not a shipwreck finder but rather a shipwreck analyzer. Be it Florida or any country that has not ratified the UNESCO Underwater Cultual Heritage Treaty, any government issued contract requires that a shipwreck is excavated under archaeological disciplines. That means not just going for the gold and silver it may contain. So time wise it doesn't shorten anything.
Quote: You’re also ignoring the discrimination factor of the equipment.

At least to the public that has yet to be verified.
The 'dig' will tell all. Won't it?
Quote: I’m looking forward to what Sfrx finds! I’m sure a few folks have no idea how the Sea Searcher works! 3D imaging by SFRX’S equipment they created!!
_________________________________________________________
Under water 3D imaging (sub-bottom profiling) has been around for a long time. References to that have been posted here previously but you choose to ignore that.
Quote: There are a minimum of 3 misstatements in this post. Now that is a real fact you could take to the bank.

Why don't you tell me specifically what they are so I can take them to the bank, as you say.
I just watched this and obviously the 'bubble head' in this case is the CEO. Quote: We do archaeology (an impressive word) but the fact is this company has never done archaeology in so much that they have never discovered a wreck, never worked a wreck or ever salvaged a wreck.. No folks, one does not do side scan sonar on a wreck. Side-scan sonar is a remote sensing technique used to find shipwrecks based upon the geological bottom environment and expectations that some of the wreck is recognizable above the ocean floor. This man never knew what he was talking about before and he still doesn't. The very same man who stated 'We are on the wreck' at Melbourne. Never was a wreck. Thats factual history.
Quote: I go back to what I said before that if you believe in the science/technology that Reynolds has built then there is great confidence in SFRX. He is a respected and proven scientist that I would not bet against.

With no disrespect to Reynolds I can only say he's stepped into it big time and us going to find it hard to get out of what's coming. Opinion: Mine only publicly on this board. There is no treasure on the Juno wreck. The dig will prove this out. There are numerous factors supportive of my position which I have addressed before.but it doesn't matter. The dig will prove this out one way or the other.
Quote: Sounds reasonable to me. I know there doesn't seem to be any doubts about the SeaSearcher accuracy from the guy who built it.

My apology for stepping in with comment here but thats a rather presumptuous statement when considering the fact that there is no validation of real on-site treasure found. Stated numerous times, the 'dig' will prove the point.
For experienced salvors working off of the right support vessel (not sport boats), the sea conditions remain workable. So I ask, has the treasure recovery begun?

Quote: The possibility of an inbound ship has always been a concern of mine, coupled with the amount of ballast reported (that should be replaced with silver!)
Any more details as to why the captain believed it was inbound?

Now who started this nonsense? Spanish galleons never came in bound countering the northerly flow of the Gulf Stream. The in bound galleons came in along the northern coast of South America with first port of destination being Porto Bello and Cartagena. From there up through the Caribbean to final port being Havana, Cuba. Sailing out of Havana (after about middle of the 16th Century) they used the northerly flow of the Gulf Stream to take them through the Straights of Florida until reaching the approximate Latitude of Bermuda, and then East back to Spain.
As for ballast, all of the galleons carried stone ballast but with a heavy cargo of treasure being carried, some ballast was removed first but there was always a base amount that remained in the hull. Depending upon where those 'creek rocks' were taken from, many contain magnetite and sometimes other minerals. Reynolds must be having allot of fun with that.

Oh indeed it has if you only knew. My net worth certainly is none of your business.
I thought it preferable that we simply leave things be until the forthcoming dig (excavation) assuming that meets your approval.
Quote: Raider rest assured Tim Reynolds is no dummy and his tech has been proven in every way possible.

I have never implied he is a dummy. Nevertheless I do believe he'd missed the mark on this one. So we wait for the 'dig'.

How convincing.

Please define 'internally proven'. Does that mean in fish tank or swimming pool test or out in the field (ocean) is simulation tests as I described before? Curious.
Quote: Too bad you don’t know what happened. Deep Blue had found treasure, had a great diver. It wasn’t anything dpbe did, it’s what a change in government leadership did.

'Too bad you don’t know what happened' Maybe he doesn't but I do. Yes, Deep Blue found treasure but minimal. The treasure recovered was from the 1551 San Miguel, near totally salvaged by the Spanish. The CEO of Deep Blue was Wilf Blum. The referral you make to 'great diver' is none other than good old Capt. Billy, a blowhard to say the least. Change of government had nothing to do with matters pertaining to this particular shipwreck. Suggest you stay on subject with SFRX and all the stock you own and continue buying.
Quote: Yep! Wasn’t mex$ the company to own? I think we both know who worked for them! What happened??? I heard from a great friend in the DR, why they couldn’t find anything! Careful with the stone throwing!! Jmo

'Careful with the stone throwing'. Are you serious? I made a correction to your post and this is your reply? Many times I posted and described the distinct difference between MEXP and Webber's Hispaniola Venturers. 'A great friend in the DR? Sorry but I doubt that. Hispaniola Ventures (Webber), in the short time they were in operation, found more shipwrecks and treasure than SFRX has ever found since their inception. That was with one hand tie3d behind their back because the joint venture partner MEXP never produced the funding they were committed to. Webber put them in default. How do I know? I WAS THERE.
Suggest you do what you do best. Buy more stock.
Quote: You’re to funny, I have pics of coins found in the DR that are silver and rare!! And look great from the 15th century!! Jmo

On this one you need correction. Perhaps you meant 16th Century. 15th Century means 1400's. There have never been any coins of this period recovered o n shipwrecks in the Dominican Republic.

I don't necessarily agree with this opinion of 'Kyle Kennedy' but do want to remind you of the once movie 'The Ship of Fools'. I cannot help but believe that you are all on the same voyage. The 'dig' will tell.

As you should know I usually stay out of comment on stock matters. Now for years you habitually make that statement 'I picked up a few more today'. I'm inclined to believe this is actually a statement of do as I say I do, not what I do.

Quote: You should go back a ways in the posts, and see where Raider and someone else preached about nothing but a hot air balloon! Lies about me selling shares! I have no idea how much made up lies were posted about me or others?? There are posts on Seafarers Facebook showing a box that they buried with coins in it. The Sea Searcher pin pointed the coins! Respective to this being a hot air balloon ride, yes I stated that in the past and still believe it so until such time when SFRX provides factual evidence that verifies their claims. As to your insinuation that I had anything to do with (lies) about you selling your shares, you know well I never did so. Point the finger at the right person. As far as the hot air balloon ride goes, why not? Many of you have been on a very profitable ride and I see nothing wrong with that.
"There are posts on Seafarers Facebook showing a box that they buried with coins in it. The Sea Searcher pin pointed the coins!". You have got to be kidding. That's supposed to be impressive? Any conventional ferrous non-ferrous metal detector can do that. You apparently didn't understand my post at all or perhaps didn't want to.
