Awesome. Thanks for sharing JB. I've been doing more short term (month or less) and OTM on higher beta stocks and like that. Curious the % from the current price you buy? Probably varies from stock to stock?

Do you guys buy OTM, ITM, or ATM options? Does it depend on the beta of the stock itself? Just curious.

A lot of great traders recommend new traders start off by paper trading. So, I think you are taking the right step. Just make sure you trade on paper like you would with real money. Good luck to you!

Hey my fellow option peeps! Had a few decent trades this past week ...

SBUX +149%
SPY +61%
SPY +47%

Both SPY trades were day trades of weeklies and SBUX was a pure earnings play. Due to the wisdom I picked up here at Option Millionaires along with creating my own strategy I am seeing more trades like these instead of big losses. I consider my past losses to be tuition. I hope I am near graduation:) Anyway, stay classy my friends!

Thanks for your insight James. Yeah, I tend to ignore analysts or use them as contrarian indicators. For stocks, it's worked out decent in my short investing life. I almost want to buy LNKD puts because it seems most are bullish on it. But, I may just skip LNKD all together and buy long calls in a mid cap stock I own that I think will continue moving up ... totally stay away from LNKD since I got it WRONG last quarter:)

Good stuff JB. Thanks for sharing. I typically am contrarian. It's worked for me with stocks but has kicked my butt in options lately. Rough month. Even my "right" calls were off in timing ... like NFLX. Doh! Anyway, as much as I like LNKD as a service I don't think its a $20B company or ever will be. I think when the big funds find another stock to run it will come down big time. Question is ... When? I'm willing to risk $80-100 just to see what will happen. Ya know, that's funny. I'm actually a bull at heart but bought S&P Put options back in Feb/Mar. I thought I saw some bearish stuff coming. As you know, have been beaten up pretty bad since buying those Puts. Had a green day today. We'll see what happens the next couple months. I have made some money on S&P Calls while I've been waiting for correction ... if it comes:D

$spy I bought Puts a couple months ago. Market kept going up. I saw that the market came down today but I didn't know why. Just heard about Boston ... Makes me sick that my Put options went up because of that. Lord, be with all who are in pain because of this cowardly act. So sad.

Thanks for the reply superfreak. Yeah, that's what I did on that trade ... Bought the ask and sold the bid. I'm cool with that tho. I'm not looking for 1000% gain on trades. Would love that of course. But, I feel better with solid trades that will get me 10%+.

Anybody have experience buying ITM options on small to mid cap stocks with low open interest? Did it payoff or not worth the risk? I tried it once with a mid cap and made 40% in a couple days, but wasn't sure if that's typical.
