Snack, Back up the truck!!!! I heard that a lot in February and March. This is a great deal!
I've been lurking everyday here. I am completely out of stocks and have been for a month or so. The entire market is headed down. I doubt tsho will drop much more, but it certainly is not going up anytime soon.
Snack, you just keep backing up the truck. You apparently know better than the market.
Daisy
Boston,
I think Maone has moved on. Likely with a different alias. He made his money and was most likely out before it dropped below a dollar. Just my thoughts.
Daisy
maone, I agree one should not jump in and out based on emotion. But I disagree with your statement "TSHO has come out with nothing but positive news, its just a matter of waiting for the next infomercial run- march 29th, 2010."
The infomercial launch in February saw the stock price drop when everyone on the board was certain the price was going up.
I am still holding as I think the price will move up from here. I am down at this point after nearly selling for a double after 7 or 8 trading days in February. It was obvious when I first stumbled on this board that it was amateur hour amongst the many posters. And based on some of the comments and criticisms of you, those folks should not be trading stocks with real money. This forum is educational at times, but no one should make their sole investment decisions based on what they read here. To blame you for their losses is absurd.
daisy
I think that is wise investor 2009.
maone, would you care to define associated?
Are you and/or the others associated with Skymark more than by just your subscriptions?
daisy
I think what we are seeing today is just people getting back in, as others have said. I don't think it's short covering. There also appeared to be a big seller at .85 today at the open.
Maybe we jump another nickel or dime into the close today. I did some research today and could not find any publications with naked short info on pinks, just on the Naz, American and NYSE. I think the site was regsho.com.
daisy
Boston I hate you... : )
investor 2009, if I were a short today, I'd look at the PR as a bad thing. For them, it would be better if the company does not refute their allegations as it leaves investors with the emotional component of questioning their long position in the stock. The company's press release this am removes that doubt. The shorts jhave been sucessful based on emotion just as longs were sucessful based on emotion before they arrived.
However, maybe another hit piece today by the shorts...
daisy
daisy likes this! This is huge. If the short position has balooned, I believe the shorts will need to cover now. De Beer has committed to the mid-March roll out of the secend wave for TV (with previous delays, I was concerned about this, along with the short position).
I expect a very good day today and don't expect a continued short attack today. I think a number of them will look to exit today.
daisy
Ryan, shorts will bash a bad or good company if their prices get ahead of themselves. They figured this was overpriced based on hype and they knocked it back and made some money in the process. That's what we have here. The jury is out on whether tsho is a good witch or a bad witch.
We shall see.
daisy
Per your post
2. Daisy I respect your thoughts, but disagree when you say a stock is only worth the current price. Fair Value of this stock will be determined in the next weeks and months, and it is not likely 80 cents. It will actually be either less than 80 cents or more likely much more than 80 cents.
Okay scuba...I accept your bid of $1.60. How many shares would you like today at that price? I trust the market and the market right now says this is worth .85. The reason? Risk and no guarantee of anything!
daisy
Maone, I know your calculations show tsho will be worth $2.16. My point is there are more investors out there who disagree with that. I don't disagree with you, but like I said earlier, the shorts rarely lose. You accept they are here, and use them to make your entry and exit points. They should be considered a tool, not only an obstacle.
daisy
Maone, I respectfully disagree. The stock would not be sitting at .80 per share if this is worth $2.16 per share. Is everyone else out there stupid or is the knowledge on this board far superior than the general market that determines any stock's price?
If things were as you say, people would be betting the ranch and buying at these prices. They are not because of the risk. The market states this stock is worth.85 now.
daisy
Now is the perfect time for this product. 2 to 4 weeks for delivery, March around the corner, etc. People are thinking "Spring".
There is plenty to not like here, but not their timing for selling this product.
daisy
I truly had no idea about the short position in this stock when I posted that I thought it would drop to .80 or .90. My guess was based only on the emotional component of trading stocks over the past 20 years.
My conclusion is that shorts rarely lose. They are smart. They manipulate the stock price whenever they want to. Jim Cramer used to do this by spreading rumours (he admitted to this a couple of years ago, see youtube video).
If tsho is legit, it will come back in price if it is able to survive. Being linked to Skymark who is getting crapped on right now certainly does not help. Realize this entire "game" is being played out by them. We have seen round 1 only. This will go down again, my guess is .61 and we see it tomorrow morning between 10-11 am.
But I might be totally wrong. I exited with a nearly 100% profit, and bought back in and of course am down from that purchase, although still up overall with my trades here. I did not have the confidence in my own DD, and instead got caught up in the emotion. A big mistake on my part.
I disagree with those that have held and say you have not lost anything if you have not sold. If yesterday I could have sold at 1.10, and today I can sell at .80, I've lost .30/share. I could have bought that boat with the difference yesterday, but today I can't. Just my own thoughts on that.
daisy
I will bet that yesterday's hit piece will not be the last. The shorts now need another so that they can start to exit comfortably. Expect that to come out today or tomorrow. I doubt that they will want to hold on through the weekend.
Any technical people looking at the chart want to tell me how healthy this drop has been?
daisy
Anyone going to sink money into Skymark's next pick?
The problem here is the shorts are in control. As I said earlier, it is rare to see a short squeeze. I see this drifting down over the next two weeks, giving them ample time to make their profits and move on. They'll be back though...
daisy
Extra pads? I thought I was investing in a squeegee, not a feminine hygiene product. Are these freakin things on back order too? : )
daisy
Believe me, I hope the frickin squeegees are on back order for months! I just don't want them on back order the first day!
Honestly guys, if the company test marketed this thing, they knew they had a product people would buy. They knew when they were showing the commercials (I assume targeted demographics), how many in the audience, and estimated a percentage of those would buy.
If they got that wrong, this is amateur hour. Again, I don't fall in love with any company I invest in. I expect professionalism and these types of road bumps to be seen ahead of time.
After saying all that, I am happy this problem exists as opposed to no phones ringing.
daisy
Guys, it would be great if these things were flying off the shelves. But they have aired how many commercials? They aired them while people with the money were at work! It's the first freakin day!
Believe me, I hope they have the problem of not filling orders. But they will lose sales if the time for delivery is too long.
I'm just sayin.
daisy
Back ordered already? And you view this as good?
Did they say how long until they expect shipments? Honestly, if they did not have a 100k of these things available, what does that say about management. Like others have said, people buy these things on impulse. If you can't give them a squeegee or anything they want at that moment, you'll lose sales. WTF?
daisy
maone, that article is not recent. I have never owned overstock, but was just commenting on naked shorting in general. I have not even checked overstock's price recently but know they had more problems at one time than just the naked short sellers.
daisy
Maone, The SEC will do nothing. They did nothing to help overstock.com and that case made news on numerous occasions.
daisy
That is true. But if I'm a big player, and not on margin, I just hold my position open on paper. No margin call. My naked short selling keeps driving the price down. If I don't have to buy those shares back that I sold short, the stock price does not go up. I never have to cover.
daisy
investor 2009 I'm not sure if that list exists.
Again, if the shares needed to be delivered in three days as the law states, no problem! The problem is there is no enforcement.
daisy
Naked shorting and failure to deliver
If you do a yahoo search of Naked shorting and failure to deliver Overstock.com, you'll find a great transcript and video on Bloomberg.com dated March 14. It is a great explanation of the process. Without SEC enforcement, investors are screwed...
Take a read and let me know what you think.
daisy
investor 2009...your post is correct in a perfect world.
But what if they don't have to cover? What if no delivery of those short shares ever takes place? What if the supply of shorted shares is infinite?
The stock price will plummet. The company will need financing. The stock will become diluted.
I hope we see a rebound this week. I think we'll see a lot of traffic on this board, and hopefully they will not all be wanting to short tsho.
Also, if the shorts never close their short position, and the stock just eventually disappears, I don't believe they pay any taxes on those gains. Another loophole for the short trader.
I hope we see a squeeze, but they are rare.
daisy
Goodmorning boys.
I've just read some of the posts over the weekend and do not understand all the enthusiasm over the shorts. Do they hold a huge postion? How much of the short position was covered over the past week?
And here is a question...if a squeeze does happen, and the shorts cover, how quickly do you think the price comes back down? If the stock gets to $10/share, wouldn't that invite more shorts? My point is that a short squeeze will not happen here. It happens when there is a large short position and the company comes out with news (like earnings).
Myself and many others will be selling at 2-2.50/share, and will play the peaks and valleys of this one.
I also don't know if we see an uptick in the stock price until Thursday or so. I sometimes see infomercials 10x before I say "I gots to get me one of them squeegees"
daisy27
antmon4, I am here to trade stock, not purchase squeegees.
investor 2009, I respectfully disagree.
New investors are seeing the same thing you are if they have done their DD. The difference is that many here are "in love" with tsho. Newbies are not. They are objectively looking at the company and seeing that it has risen a good amount, and they are stepping back, not willing to risk anything at this point.
daisy
I got back in at 1.53 and then a little more this am. So I'm down on getting back in, but I do expect to sell at higher prices. I gave up buying at the exact lows and selling at the exact highs. If I could, I'd own Timothy Sykes' ass.
daisy
I picked up a little more today at 1.30. I expect this volatility until the next PR from the company. I'm not one who thinks this is a good thing. I'd rather see a steady climb up with minimal pullbacks. But without any firm numbers and just "I hopes", you get this emotional stuff.
If this were a sure thing, and folks thought the infomercial would spike the price up, do you think anyone would be selling now? My opinion is this does not move up right away unless we get some huge news and exposure. Maybe it's coming. Like tomorrow morning before the open. I'm just sayin...: )
daisy
Thanks Knight...
but I think most everone knew that was a joke...I saw that glta on another board a while back and I had been researching companies and at first glance I thought "I'll check that one out!" Then it hit me. wtf.
daisy
razor, why do you keep promoting glta? I can't find that symbol anywhere.
daisy
Agreed.
We even went so far as to highlight the trades for them. The regsho list is a joke. As I said before, the stock I had was on that list for over a year!
With the SEC corrupt, the playing field is no where close to being level.
daisy
maone,
Can you share some of those cheap shares with me? You are welcome.
daisy
You should buy more at 1.26.
If Sykes puts out a "Research Report" or hit piece on tsho, the shorts will swarm. If his timing is off, and the stock price goes up, we could get a nice little additional run when the shorts cover.
That being said, I think he is a very smart trader. I have spent several hours researching Sykes and his trading history and claims. He is not shy about saying he makes a lot of his money shorting stocks. It is interesting that he posts no history for the second half of last year when the market was generally up. My guess is he took it on the chin in 2009 with his short plays. However, if he is just shorting penny stocks, they do not behave as the general market does, do what I just said might not mean anything!
Has anyone subscribed to Sykes before? I'm thinking about doing it just for the education...and to keep an eye on my enemies.
daisy
So there are no short shares available?
A couple of years back, a stock I owned had a huge short position. If I recall, the short position approached 90% of the float. The majority of those short shares were naked shorts.
Shorting is not a bad thing, as long as the shorted shares are produced. In the case I was referring to, the shares were never delivered. It was as if an unlimited amount of shares were printed or fabricated and shorted and it beat the share price down substantially. The shorted shares should come out of a fixed amount of shares, the same pile you and I compete for. But the reality is they do not.
We were all waiting for a huge short squeeze but it never came.
I'm not sure if naked short shares are available on this stock, but if they are, look out. The SEC will not help. They are grossly understaffed.
