Can't you feel the love :) You were right on with the gold and silver positions. Good to see you.
Reuters is reporting that Finance Ministers from the US and its G-7 partners will hold a number of conference calls Sunday to discuss US debt in light of Standard and Poors’ decision to downgrade US debt. The European Central Bank will also hold an emergency meeting on Sunday about its own sovereign debt crisis in Italy, Greece, Portugal and possibly Spain as this major credit crisis develops.
“I think we are in treacherous waters. What are France and Britian (and G7) going to discuss this weekend? They used to hold dollars. They were looking to us to solve our problems and lead by example and we just got downgraded,” says Joel Smolen, fund manager at Axion Capital in San Rafael, Calif. “Where else are they going to turn?”

As expected, the debt downgrade is serious business and calls into question the role of the US dollar as the lead world reserve currency.
The American investing public is the largest holder of US debt through mainly through fixed income and money market accounts.
You been in my thoughts. Hope all is well.
I wonder what you dream when in Texas.
Last I heard those Viking Ladies don't wear pants. And they are better looking than American women :)
Does anyone find it suspect the Media keeps reminding "speculation the central bank will increase its purchases as soon as its Nov. 2-3 meeting". If that was not enough articles expanded the thought of 1 Trillion purchases. Its like they want to keep us in the game until a specific date.
I wouldn't get too excited until I see what behind the curtain. I always get let down in life by stuff like this. It's one of the reasons I stopped dating.
"America’s Herpes: The gift that just keeps on oozing".
YIKES! Thankful never had to experience it.
Ouch gold!!
Dollar Falls to 15-Year Low Versus Yen on Fed Policy Outlook
The dollar depreciated below 81 yen, a 15-year low,

Oops! thought I included the link on previous post.
All you need to do is pick a dancing partner to complete the cycle. Saying this with my Oakleys slowly tip down looking you in the eye. :)
Dollar falls to 15 year low. One temporary rule to follow in this market "watch the dollar".
A 200 pt fall like yesterday was enough to cover positions. I am sitting back trying to decipher the market.
Not every tax situation is alike as we all know. I wonder how America will pay all this debt back without raising future taxes. Your point is well made and understandable. Congrats on having a successful year!!
If one sinks 2 billion into Countrywide and shortly find it needs additional 4 billion to survive its not a hard choice to cooperate.
Well it could be considered "forced" to buying Countrywide since they invested 2 Billion only to find it need another 4 billion to survive.
I believe BofA approached Merrill a few months before the crises but Merrill turned them flat down. Shortly found Lehman was going down the tubes so Merrill hastily did a deal with BofA knowing his head was on the chopping block.
Anyway you slice it BofA is a zombie who destiny will be decided by govt.
I am sitting here pondering the next move of Uncle Benny. Hard to imagine he pumps QE2 with trillions of dollars. If he chooses QE2 will signal no other options available and show weakness. It will play out different this time because the bond market most likely call his hand (all in). I can see it, Uncle Benny in a Heimlich maneuver chocking on his wad of cash.
Same Song different Dance. Politicians will have to swallow hard to clear this one. IMHO the most likely path is Bank of America good assets bought by JPM and bad assets in a participation of losses by govt, all done in the darkness of night.
Pimco is the tail that wags the dog.
Again I think its a govt gimmick. The conversion tax will be lower this year than 2011 or 2012. The govt wants to tax these instruments to the max. Pay the tax upfront with no surprises.
Newly2b, What first comes to mind.... what if taxes are Higher in 2011 and 2012. Pay any taxes 2010 at a known rate seems a safe bet.
I know who is buying a round of drinks in Vegas come January..... ME!
Commodities are selling off today will keep on radar for additional positions ie: CPO (Corn Products Intl). Commodities are the place to be for the next leg.
Sweet!!!!!! Don't like to gloat but lot of work timing the market.
Double clinking on the 3D and you get the charts along with all kinds of useful information. I been on this site years before but did not know of the improvement.
That fancy map link has Home Builder rocking. Interesting.
Standing pat with shorts, micro cracks in the dam. High freq trading will pick it up.
The GM is a concern but the bumper fiasco took a hit. We know all too well how the market responded to RIMM margins. Overall I think Apple business plan is spectacular. Verizon coming on board just before the holiday season and Ipad production up and running makes a good story. Bottom line betting on AAPL is a bet with Steve Jobs. He has this charm of delivering what the market wants.
BTW, I always enjoyed and respected your post. Always to the point with no fluff. Definitely one of the must read top posters around.
Newly2b, I picked this up off a forum.

Don’t forget people that with any of the Virgin Mobile devices that you can not use any of the wireless services when roaming off Sprint’s CDMA network as Sprint does not currently have wireless roaming partnerships with any wireless carrier for their prepaid customer base.
Walmart has "straight talk" for 45.00 month to month. Unlimited Talk, Text and Data. I believe it works off Verizon towers (not absolute certain).

No top claim. I made a 2 week call.
Don't worry the Banking mess will be cleaned up in stroke of a pen. Just like GM. QE2 will be the bailout of ALL mortgages to the banks delight. The Black Letter of law will be ignored (remember the bondholders claim and the union pension override).
Save and note this post....signed the ghost of Edgar Cayce
P.s. The S&L bailout. Filings by the RTC claimed immunity to all title defects including property taxes. No one stood up to the Federal claim of superiority.
ETF ie VXX, DRV, SDS. Looking for S&P 1050 in 14 day move. I have to admit I feel like I ate whole habanero pepper.

I am on the same train as you.
Done complete position short.
Calling Uncle Ben BLUFF. All in soon.
