not sure about the company, but the stock doesn't exist anymore
So, what does this mean? The company has ceased operations? The problem with solar is the panels were too expensive.
So, I guess I can add Nevergreen to my list of losers in a lifetime of investing that includes:
FirstPlus (-$10K)
Cortex Pharma (-$15K)
Evergroan (-$12K)
Maybe all high fliers eventually go to zero? candidates:
Chipotle
Intuitive Surgical
ESLRQ Evergreen Solar, Inc. Common Stock 7/19/2012 Bankruptcy plan effective. Shares cancelled. Deletion time 12:03:45
http://www.otcbb.com/asp/dailylist_detail.asp?d=07/19/2012&mkt_ctg=ALL
Another run is coming? Charts looks like it. ESLRQ.
Don't be embarrassed!! No worries!! I decided to stay away from this one. A little risky with the bankrupcy, but you never know what can happen. That's why I love stocks so much. I appreciate the feedback.
==what was that==??? eslrq had a mini run.?
Woops, I'm a little embarrassed. I made my second I-Hub mistake ever. I was commenting on another Q stock - HEVVQ - which ran from about $4 to about $0.015. I see the ESLRQ spike you're talking about. I sold my ESLR at a loss, for $3 and change last year, and glad I got out. Always fun to ride something from a penny to $0.1 or $0.2, but I'm guessing there are serious doubts around the long-term viability of ESLRQ.
Thanks. When I said 'increased so much,' I was referring to its climb from $0.012 to $0.22, 2 weeks ago. I would have loved to have been in on that. However, I'm sorry to hear that it went from $4 to $0.01. That's rough.
If by "increased so much" you mean "decreased so much," then I'm pretty sure it has something to do with going bankrupt. It traded at four bucks last February, and is now about a penny. Doesn't get much worse than that. It filed for bankruptcy, and one scenario is that outstanding shares will be cancelled.
I haven't had a lot of time to research this company, so does anyone think that it still has potential to go up again soon? Also, does anyone know why it increased so much in the first place?
When a company filed chapter 11 and then converted to chapter 7, (8k)what does that mean to shardholders? and does the co. close their doors and stocks will be depleted? ESLRQ.
Does anyone have any idea how the 8K that came out Friday (20th) at the close of the market might affect the trading tomorrow?
with ya and added
nobody knows how high it can go it all depends on what the terms of whatever it is making this run if it is a buy out it depends on what value it brings to the common stock but yes many Chap 11 stocks run multiple dollars and sometimes leave the common stock intact
BANKRUPTCY STOCKS, DO YOU THINK IT WILL GO BACK TO $3, TO $4 OR EVEN YET BACK TO $100.? THIS COMPANY DOES NOT EXIST IN THE U.S. THEY ARE IN CHINA AND EUROPE. VOLUME IS LOW TODAY COMPARE TO THE LAST THREE TRADINGS. DO YOU THINK THEIR MIGHT BE ANOTHER RUN OR INVESTORS ARE HOLDING BECAUSE SOMETHING IS UP? ELSRQ...
Does anyone know of any news to explain all the activities?
===sold @ .20.===got back in @.10===
,,,,,,,Use a condom...MONEYMADE
===THIS IS ON FIRE, LOOKING FOR A DOLLAR TOMORROW=== GOT IN AT .08! STILL HOLDING!
Are these shares going to be cancelled soon?
I think someone had rummor that a Chinese company is going to buy ESLRQ, don't know if it is true or not. But it was a good company anyway.
This what "EVERY POS HAS IT'S DAY" mean. Congrats who held and more importantly got out today... hehe
nice move here today, congrats on your gains
ESLRQ is on fire today. Any idea why?
after I shot you a message I started digging. Thats conclusion I drew as well. It didn't take much digging either LOL. Steering clear here! Thanks alot. GLTY
I'm not in it. The impression I have is that uncle scammy is allowing all the govt funded solars to go bk and take their operations overseas.
I would probably place a bet under a penny - but I believe commons will be toast in the end. It hasn't had much bounce or interest in it that I can see..... steadily trending down.
Good luck however you decide to play it.
Bilco have you been around this one in a while. Currently, I found it has a positive rating through etrade stock screener!!????? Just looking for some quick up to date DD if you are current here! Take care.
Hey DFW... Amazing this still trades above 10 cents.
Yeah was so bad an idea to ivest in a company with poor margins and a moutain of debt. How much did the lend to Lehman? Definately seems the financial guys at Evergreen at the time where fools, or were promised a rate the couldn't refuse. In turn they had a borrow at 13.5%. Really sad and I think I thought maybe they could pull out of it.
Evergreen v2.0 may resurface, but these shares are just paper now. When will it be retired again?
Crazy stuff.
Evergreen was raped real good early on, back when the solar boom first started.....the history here is not real good....
Heck they had loaned money to Lehman Brothers for some reason and lost all of it when Lehman went down. That makes no sense at all to loan money to an investment Bank?
I guess I should see what other companies got the govt goodies money and make sure I don't own any of them. Just another debacle and waste of our money. The company IP will be transferred to insiders and MADE IN CHINA. Can you say Scam?
Well I am old enough to remember Bilco.........great show...
Years ago the SBA did some good stuff and the underwriting was very strong.....
as far as the Govt...I go back to the what my granddad use to say...
There is the right way and the Govt way.
Could it be that the government really has no authority to be evaluating and funding private industry? They don't even understand how to run their own "industry", how are we to believe they have the capability or intelligence to decide what is a marketable product and what is just a scheme to get other people's money?
Expect more to fail - since bankruptcy is the easy way out...like walking away from a mortgage has become acceptable. JMO
Another Government-Backed Solar Player Dies
The month of August was hard on US solar makers. Evergreen Solar closed its doors a few weeks ago, followed by privately held and Intel Corp.-supported (NASDAQ: INTC) SpectraWatt, Inc. a few days later. Yesterday Solyndra LLC sent 1,100 people home for good, unless and until the company can emerge from a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.
Solyndra had been a favorite of the Obama administration, and the President himself visited the factory last year. One of the company’s largest backers was George Kaiser, a Tulsa oil baron who was a big campaign fund raiser for Obama’s run for the presidency in 2008. A committee of the US House of Representatives had been investigating a $535 million federal loan to Solyndra, but having little success in getting information from the administration. This part of the situation should fire up a lot of pixels in the next few weeks.
In the real world, Solyndra simply couldn’t drive its costs down fast enough to compete, and the $535 million loan notwithstanding, the company couldn’t raise enough capital fast enough to ramp up its manufacturing. Solyndra, like Evergreen Solar, did not build the same kind of solar PV cells as the major players. The company’s cells were cylindrical rather than flat and the technology was neither the mainstream crystalline silicon nor the thin-film cadmium telluride cells made by First Solar Inc. (NASDAQ: FSLR).
Solyndra’s technology was the newer copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) technology, and the company could not get its module prices down below $2/watt, nearly double today’s going rate for crystalline cells and nearly triple the thin-film technology used by First Solar. The company withdrew a $300 million IPO in June 2010, although at the same time it did raise another $175 million from its private investors. The terms of the private investment were described by one observer at the time as “onerous.”

There is no way to appeal the delist decision when you declare BK - that automatically makes it in-eligible for Nasdaq.
Tomorrow>>> 8/24/2011 ESLR to ESLRQ

wait til QQQ .... jmho
Got in at .56 and sold at .45 , 25,000 shares.
They generally get a Q and start trading on the pinks, also, they usually have a lot larger selloff when they first go bk. This one has been getting bought up almost immediately each morning, kind of interesting.
Evergreen Solar has struggled immensely of late. The company, which received millions in grants and tax incentives from the state before closing one of its Massachusetts facilities, has voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy relief. In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Evergreen said it has received notice that Nasdaq staff have decided to suspend the trading of its stock at the opening of business on Aug. 24.
Shares may trade on the OTC Bulletin Board or the Pink OTC Markets Inc.
I do not like the MAY context...

Business Summary
Evergreen Solar, Inc. develops, manufactures, and markets solar power products primarily in Europe and the United States. It utilizes its proprietary ?String Ribbon' technology process in manufacturing ribbons of crystalline silicon, which are then cut into wafers. These wafers are the primary components of photovoltaic cells that are used to produce solar panels. The company principally offers solar wafer, a flat piece of crystalline silicon that can be processed and assembled into a solar cell; solar cell, a device made from a silicon wafer that converts sunlight into electricity; and solar panel, an assembly of solar cells that are electrically interconnected and laminated for electric power generation, such as on-grid and off-grid generation. Evergreen sells its products through distributors, systems integrators, and value-added resellers. It has a strategic partnership with Q-Cells AG. The company was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Marlboro, Massachusetts.
There’s never been a better choice for solar panels than Evergreen Solar. Our panels are made by state of the art manufacturing featuring our unique String Ribbon wafer technology. Add the fact that we manufacture everything — wafers, cells and panels — all under one roof for ultimate quality control, and it’s not surprising then that our solar panels are among the highest quality products in the industry. And that’s not all. Because of the unique way they’re made, they are the most environmentally friendly solar panels in the business.
