Yeah, that was the 52 week high. It hit about $13.00 a few months back. We should easily see that again shortly. I'm seeing intitutional buying in the volume.
I see Yahoo has a one-year price target for PIKE of $11.92, however...they've already surpassed that with a 52-week high of $12.99. Don't know when that happened though...
You're welcome!
Someone is accumulating PIKE so I'm excited to see where she runs to in the next week or two. :)
Good job, WT....
Have PIKE on my watch list for now.
Let's close WAY up for the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See everyone next week!
Serious volume today!
I suspect this is the start of the next upswing. Hopefully we can crack $10.00
Huge volume surge towards end of day. Hopefully we saw the bottom today and can now start our up trend again.

PIKE closed the last day of trading 2009 at $9.28 a share--let's see what she closes at come the end of 2010! :)
Thank you for the welcome, WT...
And, a very Happy New Year to you!
Welcome!
I'm trying to find a few spare minutes to get us a nice iBox.
PIKE is such a stable, secure stock. Check out the charts and I think you will agree with me when I say there is serious upside potential at today's SP.
Hey WestTexas... it's nice to see some activity on this board once again.
Will be doing some dd on Pike as soon as I get caught up from being gone for a week.

Pike Electric Expands Revolving Credit Facility and Reduces Borrowing Costs
PR, Monday December 12, 5:12 pm ET
MOUNT AIRY, N.C., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pike Electric Corporation (NYSE: PEC - News), one of the nation's largest providers of outsourced electric distribution and transmission services, today announced that it has increased and amended its existing credit facility.
The revolver portion of the Company's credit facility was increased from $70.0 million to $90.0 million, while the term loan portions remained at $286.1 million. After giving effect to the increase, the Company's borrowing availability under the revolving portion of the credit facility is now $50.9 million (after giving effect to $25.1 million of outstanding standby letters of credit). The increase in the revolving portion of the credit facility was provided by two new banks to the existing bank group -- Bank of America, N.A. (NYSE: BAC - News) and First Tennessee Bank, N.A. (NYSE: FHN - News), each committing $10 million.
The amendment includes an immediate 50 basis point reduction in borrowing costs on both the revolver and term portions of the credit facility, provides for an increased level of lease expense and allows the Company to make cash dividends to shareholders upon achieving certain defined leverage ratios.
"The amended credit facility expands our borrowing capacity, reduces our cost of capital and provides increased flexibility, which will facilitate the execution of our growth plans," said J. Eric Pike, Pike Electric's chairman and chief executive officer. "On an annualized basis, the reduced borrowing costs are expected to add $0.03 per diluted share to earnings."

Pike Electric Reports First Quarter Fiscal 2006 Results: Storm Restoration Demand High; Powerline Revenues Up 14%
PR, Thursday November 10, 6:30 am ET
MOUNT AIRY, N.C., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pike Electric Corporation (NYSE: PEC - News), one of the nation's largest providers of outsourced electric distribution and transmission services, today announced its financial results for the fiscal quarter ended September 30, 2005.
First Quarter Results
For the first quarter, revenues decreased slightly to $218.4 million from $220.4 million for the same quarter a year ago. This decrease was due to a $17.6 million reduction in storm revenue, which was offset by an increase of $15.6 million in powerline revenue for the first quarter of fiscal 2006 compared to the same period in the prior year. Storm revenues represented 43.3% of revenues for the quarter compared to 50.9% in the prior year. Pike Electric experienced record storm restoration revenues in the prior year's first quarter as a result of four major Florida storms. In the first fiscal quarter of 2006 storm restoration revenues were driven by Tropical Storm Cindy and Hurricanes Dennis, Katrina and Rita. Also in the quarter, powerline revenues were $123.8 million, a 14.4% increase over powerline revenues of $108.2 million in the quarter a year ago as a result of strong demand for our services.
First quarter net income totaled $17.5 million, or $0.58 per diluted share, compared to net income of $24.2 million, or $0.67 per diluted share, for the first quarter of the prior year. The reduction in net income is primarily the result of a lower level of storm revenues in the current year and increased labor, fuel and equipment costs.
"Our first quarter results, both last year and in the current year, illustrate the earnings capacity of our business in periods of extraordinary demand for our services," said J. Eric Pike, chairman and chief executive officer. "We are optimistic about our prospects for the remainder of fiscal 2006 as we continue to leverage our industry leading position. We intend to do this by capitalizing on the continuing industry trends of customer outsourcing and, distribution and transmission upgrade requirements and also by gaining market share through operational excellence and our storm restoration efforts."
Outlook
"We exceeded our previous storm revenue estimates for the year and now expect storm revenues for the fiscal year to be between $115 - $125 million, which is significantly ahead of our expected average annual storm revenue of $30 million per year," Mr. Pike said. "We cannot accurately predict our storm revenues in terms of which quarter they will occur or the level of revenues generated from storm events. We continue to expect to grow revenues and earnings at or near double digit levels over the long term, while maintaining our industry-leading operating margins."
Conference Call
Pike Electric's conference call to discuss its first quarter results is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. EST today, November 10, 2005. This call will be available live and by replay over the Internet at http:///www.pike.com in the Investor Relations section.

Pike Electric Crews Dispatched for Hurricane Wilma Restoration Effort and Snow Storm in North
PR, October 28
MOUNT AIRY, N.C., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pike Electric Corporation (NYSE: PEC - News), one of the nation's largest providers of outsourced electric distribution and transmission services, today announced that approximately 1,400 Pike Electric personnel are involved in Hurricane Wilma restoration efforts as well as the first snow storm of the season.
"It is the first time in Pike Electric's history that the company is responding to both a snow storm and a hurricane restoration at the same time," said J. Eric Pike, chairman and chief executive officer. "This season's four major hurricanes have kept Pike Electric's storm center open around the clock since July and it will remain open until our crews return from Hurricane Wilma.
Earlier this week, Florida residents were bracing for Hurricane Wilma to impact the southern portion of the state. At the same time, many northern states were preparing for the first snowfall of 2005. Hurricane Wilma, a category three hurricane packing 125 mph winds, left nearly one-third of Florida's residents without power. Approximately 1,260 Pike Electric personnel from 14 states have responded to help restore power in southern Florida. Many of these crew members from Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Indiana, and Maryland have already been involved in the long storm season. Wilma restoration efforts are expected to extend well into November. This has been one of the toughest storm seasons Pike Electric has experienced due to the working conditions in the impacted areas.
Additionally, residents in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland lost power this week due to an early winter storm that dumped seven inches of snow and impacted several power systems. Pike Electric has approximately 150 personnel from seven states restoring power to the impacted areas and expects the work to be completed by this Sunday. Once finished, many of these crew members will travel to Florida to join the Hurricane Wilma restoration efforts.

INVESTMENT OUTLOOK FOR 2010
RealMoney.com says "We will be watching for opportunities to develop in infrastructure stocks. There is always talk of government spending to rebuild and repair our highways, bridges and water and electric systems. It has not happened yet, but at some point it has to occur. The economy has delayed the process, but it cannot be delayed forever. The electric grid needs to be upgraded in the next decade to deliver electricity more efficiently and cheaply. Roads and bridges cannot be allowed to fall into permanent disrepair. Stocks such as Pike Electric will ultimately benefit from this spending. This is not an 'if' selection. It is a matter of when. The key will be buying these names at the right price and holding for the long run."
