Been livin and learnin for years. Remember when you were a little kid and you were told something time and time again and it never really sunk in? However if you get spanked you learn faster.LOL
Nobody wants to get spanked here but you definetly learn faster when you do.
Lowtrade
I need a ruling on this one. A friend of mine ownes this stock and is looking for an exit point, he is switching brokers. The stock is ENER.
1 the rsi still looks ok to me but is weakening
2 It is above both the 50 and 200 ma
3 macd is above zero but weakening
4 +di is above adx and the -di but weakening
5 The guru outfit this guy subscribes to says sell. Gurus don't hold much water with me. (hidden agendas)
everything above says sell but what has me confused is that I see a double bottom, a cup and handle and the cmf is starting into the green. Your thoughts please.
Lowtrade
Yup you read it right. I did have a GTC/limit/AON at .0008 that didn't sell when the price rose above my sell point.
Here is the response I got from ETRADE: Your trading inquiry on order no. 47 has been reviewed. Based on the time and sales for this security, no adjustment is due.The market has been unable to secure sufficient size on the Bid to fill this All-or-None (AON) order. Please note the market is indicating size of 5,000 shares for this pink sheet security. The market is not obligated to fill beyond that quantity. I apologize for any confusion this may have created.
Prior posts sum everything else up. Seems ETRADE has pretty clear cut rules that really don't seem all that bad to me, seems fair enough. Thanks to all that helped out here you're a great asset.
By the way, there's NO WAY that I could have screamed at the broker I talked to on the phone. You should have seen what she was wearing in my cartoon bubble. My god she sounded hot!!!
Thanks Snap
ETRADE says: When you place an order for 300 shares or more, you have the option of entering it as an all-or-none (AON) order. All-or-none tells the market you want all your shares to be moved in a single trade and don't want partial fills during the time limit you specify (day or GTC). All-or-none applies only to limit orders.
Keep in mind that if you place an AON order and not enough shares become available at your specified price, you run the risk that your order will not execute. Additionally, all-or-none orders must wait for orders entered without conditions to execute.
I have always had good luck with AON, I guess there's a time and place for everything. I also wasn't aware that I only paid one commission per day no matter how many orders go through for that one stock. That helps. Thank you.
You're right hopkins thanks!
I didn't want to sit on hold for an hour and 45 minutes like last time so I did a search in ETRADE and found this.
One thing you should be aware of about GTC orders is that sometimes your order can be filled over the course of several days. If there aren't enough shares available to fill your entire order during the course of one day, you'll pay a commission on each separate day a partial order is filled. (On the other hand, if your order fills in multiple lots during one day, you'll pay only one commission.) If this is a concern to you, and you are trading over 300 shares, you might want to consider placing an all-or-none (AON) order.
That makes me feel better. Thanks again.
itsjustme
The day I bought in the volume was 20.5 mil. The 4 days prior were between 13 and 119 mil.
Yes Hopkins AON
I always use all or none. I figured if I didn't use AON I would just be inviting trouble. Say for example if they
decided to sell all my shares in 5000 share lots, which is what they were looking for, I would lose my shorts and not be
able to stop them while they were doing it.
What broker?
It seems as though everyone has a favorite broker but nobody can agree on the same one. It's the old Ford, Chevy, Dodge
thing, mine is better than yours. I don't make enough trades to qualify for the low commissions and from what I have seen the
other guys get you with a per share charge, an ECN charge yada yada yada. I have noticed that some people have two brokers
for whatever their reasons, however I don't know If I could justify the expense with so few trades. I do welcome any and
all advice.
I don't know Snap
QRVI. You can probably figure it out faster than I could
The days I'm refering to are monday and tuesday of this week.
My guess is manipulation
I imagine they don't have a problem filling an order that big because they are taking my money, why wouldn't they want to do
that, right? Although when it comes to me taking a profit (taking money from them) they don't really want me to take a profit
so my order doesn't get filled. The share count may sound high but remember it's only $600, no big deal right? I should
have mentioned the volume in my first post, brain fart. The day I should have gotten my sell the volume was 24 million, the
following day it was 15 million. I have read about other posters picking up way more millions than I did so I figured it
wouldn't be that hard to get out.
Will what change in the future?
You lost me on that one.
I don't know!!
Someone must have wanted my money. I've never bought a stock this cheap before so this is new to me.
Time for another lesson Lowtrade
Say for example I bought 1,000,000 shares at .0006 waited 3 days and put in a sell order for 1,000,000 shares at .0008
and a couple days later the price opened at my sell price rose to .0011 and then closed at my sell price and I hypothetically
still owned this stock. My Eturd broker informed me that the bid/ask size is 5000 and suggests I change my order size
accordingly. My math says 5000 shares at .0008 is $4,commission is $12.99. Hypothetically of course, how the hell am I
gonna get outta this one???
Lowman, this would look nice in the I box.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Low
Need help Low
Doing some DD on XSNX and found something strange. I was
looking at the insider transactions on Yahoo and found that all
of the transactions were planned sale, 140 or so of them within
the last two years. Just exactly what does a planned sale mean
here, how does that all work? Also Yahoo states there is 1
employee, that's gotta be one busy fella. Somethin is funky
here. http://finance.yahoo.com/q/it?s=XSNX.OB
Good question
I've wondered the same thing Erg. It seems that some of the charts that I've seen people post should have been adjusted
because all the indicators were off by about 3 or 4 days. I already hit my quota for dumb questions this week so I didn't
bring it up.
Now
I would say now would be the best time to get in even though it has risen quite a bit lately.
1. RSI just crossed 70 and is fairly vertical
2. MACD just took a swing towards the upside
3. MACD Histogram is gaining strength
4. The +DI just crossed the ADX in an upwards manner
5. And all in all this stock has a strong uptrend
This is entry level advice. If I'm off base here Low please shake your finger at me.
You hurt my feelings!!!
I did feel like I was being scolded a little for being lazy,LOL. I really wish the 125 ghosts you referred to would speak up a little bit, I hate being the only one asking seemingly stupid questions. OH by the way everybody, the only stupid question is the one you never ask!! To be honest with you Low a lot of what you say kind of does go over my head, what doesn't seems to go in one ear and out the other. Eventually it will all sink in, at least some of it I hope. Repetition is the answer, the more we talk about it the more that should sink in. I think one thing that that would be a big help here or in Ihub in general would an explanation of why a stock is a good one when someone posts it. Without an explanation of why the stock is a good one it's just an opinion. There are times when I'm out of cash but I still like to read through posts to see what stocks people like and why. There just doesn't seem to be a whole lot of the why part. I realize this takes time but it would be a great learning tool.
Right
I know where to find all that stuff and I usually do go through all the DD if I want to take a position in a particular stock. I was looking at that stock in Etrade and rather than spending the time reading through all the news I figured I would just ask here. Seems a lot of people here are interested in this stock so I figured I'd ask the people that have already read through all the news. Sorry if I got under your skin, that wasn't my intention.
MYRG target
I noticed a while back when I was looking at MYRG in Yahoo that the 1 year target estimate was $14.75. I usually don't pay much attention to these targets because in the cheaper stocks that info is usually N/A. Do you know who comes up with these figures and in your opinion do they hold any water? Unless I'm missing something I can't see MYRG hitting that target. In my unprofessional opinion I'd say they would be extremely lucky to hit .05, right?
That's funny
I wonder if he is still holding some shares? LOL
Thanks Low
You are a great help. With so many places to choose from it can really be time consuming. Thanks again
PTSC insider trading
I read through most of the news releases and this company really looks good, but when I look at the insider trading activity it doesn't make sense to me why someone would sell shares on the verge of so many new contracts. Is there an explanation for this or do we just chalk it up to drug abuse?
Stock screening
Low, in Clearstation for example, just exactly what area do you choose to look at when screening? I think the majority of us in here are all looking for the same thing, a low priced stock looking to make a move, for whatever reason. When I look through the different areas of clearstation I see a lot of stock way out of my price range and it takes a long time to weed through all of them to find what I'm looking for. Are you looking in tag & bag or markets, are you looking for percent losers or gainers? Just exactly where should I be looking?
Low,Question on gaps
I think it was last week you posted a chart on CTUM and said that after the big rise the gaps would have to be filled before we should expect another rise. Could you explain that to me? What do those gaps mean, and how are they filled?
What are these spikes?
I'm not in this one and don't plan on it, but I was wondering what the huge one day spikes were all about on GRMU. I've noticed spikes like that on other stocks too but they didn't make any sense to me. Could you explain this please.
Don't be sorry Low
I was in and out of IDWD before it hit resistance. When I initially stumbled onto this one I briefly checked it out on Yahoo and really wasn't impressed with the product they were pumping so I figured it must be a BS hype job. I got in on the tail end of the rally and rode it to near the previous peak level and got out. There ain't a whole lotta T/A or F/A involved in my system yet but we're gettin there. All your efforts are very much appreciated keep up the good work.
Tip for ya Low
I find that when you embarrass yourself, which I do quite often, it is best to beat everyone to the punch and make fun of yourself before they can. It takes all the fun out of it for them. It works for me. Sometimes they think you are just plain nutz, but that can work to your advantage too. :)
You nailed it
The PR's came out the day before your yellow dots but usually the day of the dot was PR from marketwatch.com or Tradersnation or otc stock echange alert, sometimes all three in one day.
Nice call Lowman
I jumped out of IDWD early this morning, will wait for a dip.
Thanks for the chart too that was nice.
Thanks everybody, 1 more thing
I sure appreciate you guys givin it up for me you are a big help. I will be looking into all your suggestions. I do have one more question as long as we are all here,I know I need to put myself through some more chart schooling and I'm workin on it. One question is which do you prefer Big Charts.com or Stock Charts.com or something else. I would imagine one would want to sign up for one of these right? When screening stocks do you use a program like TC 2000 or do you do your screens somewhere else?
COULD BE A TRAP
Thanks, I've kinda been following a few people around. But it takes a while to figure out who's blowin hot air.
Thanks Jagman
I don't know if you would be interested or you know of someone in Ihub that would be interested in being my GO TO GUY or not. I could sure use one. It seems to me that there are a lot of people in Ihub that are plenty sharp enough to give a hand but don't necessarily have the time or patience for a newbie, can't blame them for that. If anyone is interested drop me a line. I'm not a total moron just a dufuss sometimes.
Need help here guys
How many shares can I buy when the bid and ask are at say 5000. Does it mater? Can I get 20,000 at a crack or won't I get a fill? I would ask this on the newbie board but I would really like an answer before Christmas.
I already did. Nobody did. If you look back to post #208 I threw one out. I thought milt wrote a pretty good newbie don't but he didn't tell us what we should do. I would really like someone to cut through all the BS that we are dealt on a daily basis and say, this is all you need moron, you don't need all that other crap. My dream is to one day not get up at 4 am and serve my multi milloinaire boss until 6 pm. I would much rather sit here at my computer and make my living. I kind of know where to start, I'm just looking for some clarification.
I know I spelled millionaire wrong. When I become one I'll learn how to spell it.
Has Gramps moved on to the big ticker in the sky? He hasn't been on here in almost two years. Now where will I look for answers to all my stupid questions?
So lay it on me then!
What does a newbie investor need to get going? I've been doing this for about 8 years now but only a couple of stocks a year. I'm ready for the next level. I've got the online broker, some refer to it as eturd. Do I need Mytrack? Do I need Nasdaq level II? Do I need Big charts or not really? I know I need to learn how to read charts, I'm workin on it and have learned a lot from Ihubbers, thank you all. How many indicators do you really need to use for TA? I'm not looking to daytrade so I wouldn't think I would need the full arsenal.
