Price target?
Realistically...what would be a price target for Oncolytics? Do you forsee a partnership or a buyout? I think the future is bright for Oncolytics.
Updates from the Annual General Meeting
I was wondering if anyone could provide updates from the annual general meeting held yesterday for shareholders. I do believe that this company is headed in the right direction with the leadership of Matt Coffey. Curious to see the potential of Reolysin and its effect on various cancers.
What's your opinion on Onconova? I know it had some positive pre-clinical data for some cancer drugs earlier this month. Is there anything in their pipeline that suggests something else is brewing? You mentioned the offering has now closed. It appears there was a major purchase from Tyndall a few days ago.
What leads you to say that? I agree...something is cooking with ONCYF. Great results from their study with Reolysin and metastatic breast cancer. Potential buyout candidate?
Something brewing
What a pop this morning. I think there's something cooking with Cyclacel. Obviously, we know about the pre-clinical data that was introduced at the AACR meeting last week. Unfortunately, the stock was affected by that spare Adam Feuerstein's tweet and podcast. But it has rebounded nicely. Cyclacel's pipeline is fairly strong. Also, I don't think it's a coincidence that Kevin Tang has invested heavily in this company. I wouldn't be surprised if it's revealed in the next few days that he's purchased even more shares in the company. We shall see.
Major owner purchases a ton of shares
So let me get this straight...not exactly great news with the SEAMLESS study a few days ago. But yet...Kevin Tang...major owner of Cyclacel purchases 134,200 shares on Friday. Does that instill confidence in you? It does for me.
Other drugs in pipeline
A few days ago...as expected...the results from the SEAMLESS study for sapacitabine did not reach statistically significant improvement in the primary endpoint of overall survival. However, it did report improvement in secondary endpoint of complete remission rate. Does that ultimately mean anything in terms of FDA approval of sapacitabine?
My question is does this company have other drugs in the pipeline that are significant?
Disappointed
I thought something was cooking earlier today with the premarket action. With that said, the market hasn't been kind today. Everything seems to be down.
Do you believe in what Cyclacel is offering? Kevin Tang sure does...he reported a decent sized stake in the company a few months back.
One more question about tax loss
My position on Baxano was not closed...in other words...I didn't sell the shares for a loss last year. My understanding is that if you don't sell the shares by the end of the calendar year then you don't have a loss that can be deducted? But with the shares being canceled on August 12th, 2015, doesn't that make the investment worthless anyway? Can I claim a loss for last year in this scenario?
Thanks again for your help.
How do I claim a tax loss?
You mentioned about claiming a tax loss this year. How would you go about doing this? Secondly, why are we not able to claim a tax loss for last year? Weren't the shares canceled on August 12th, 2015 thus making our investment worthless? See note below from FINRA:
Attn: Trading and Market Making/Legal and Compliance/Operations/Systems
UNIFORM PRACTICE ADVISORY (UPC 20-15) 8/12/2015
Baxano Surgical, Inc. (BAXSQ)
Notice has been received that the above Company’s Second Amended Chapter 11 Plan
of Reorganization filed under Chapter XI of the Federal Bankruptcy Code, became
effective on 8/10/2015. Pursuant to the Plan, on the Effective Date, The holders of
Interests will not receive any distributions or other consideration on account of such
Interests. On the Effective Date, all Interests shall be cancelled, extinguished, and of
no further force and effect.
Tax loss?
Is there a way to show this stock as being a tax loss? For some reason, it still shows up in my account but not under "closed positions". With this stock being delisted, would that not imply that its a total loss of our investment? It can't be traded anymore correct?
Bankruptcy Judge apparently a loser as well
He approved the bankruptcy plan set forth by the loser Paula Schneider and rejected Dov Charney and his takeover bid
Decision by judge
Here's the question: Is the offer by Dov and his investor team better than the proposed bankruptcy reorganization plan where ultimately the common shareholders are wiped away? The answer, by all accounts, is an unequivocal yes. I think Hagan mentioned it being a billion dollar company to show that the useless Paula Schneider couldn't run a company to save her life and ultimately ran it into the ground.
I would hope the judge have common sense and side with Dov and his group. We'll see.

This was a few months ago...but by all accounts...she's been a disastrous CEO
Paula Schneider and Board of Directors are a joke
So let me get this straight. Dov Charney and his investor team proposed a $300 Million takeover bid of the company who has declared bankruptcy and they rejected the offer? What? By all accounts, this bid by Charney and his group is a win-win for everyone involved, including the common shareholders. In the bankruptcy proposal, the common shareholders are wiped out. No question...by them rejecting this bid...its simply a pride move by the incompetent Schneider and the board. Hopefully the judge in this case will have the common sense to side with Charney and his team.
Significant?
I was wondering why you posted the link to trans1. Has Baxano emerged as a new company? You seem to be abreast of what's going on much more than me! I appreciate your input and all the posts in regards to Baxano.
What's taking so long?
As the other previous posters mentioned in regards to the shares still showing up in the account, mine does as well. What's going on? I thought mercifully we could show a tax loss this year, but are you anticipating this will take longer? Is there any chance these shares get converted into a new company?
Tax loss?
I don't see a tax loss in my investment account. I still see the ticker symbol but no loss in the account. Do we need to call the broker?
What happened?
I was one of the unfortunate ones who had some stock in this miserable company. In my investment account, it showed there was value left in the company until this morning. Does anyone else show in their accounts that it's disappeared? Can we at least do a tax write-off on this horrific transaction?
What a run
I've said it in an earlier post this morning...what a magical transformation Baxano has undergone the past few days. Can the trend continue? With John Palmer leading the way, we've got a chance for something special. A reverse merger? He's got a heck of a track record for turning companies around.
A couple of questions:
1) How do you know the float is locked for Baxano?
2) What is the float currently for Baxano?
Appreciate all the info.
Unbelievable - a reverse merger in the works?
I'm truly stunned so far on the turnaround from Baxano in the past few days. Volume is through the roof. Can this magical turnaround continue? Let's hope so. Patience is a virtue.
Ken Reali
How does that guy have a job? No offense but for all practical purposes he drove Baxano into the ground. Does Clinical Innovations do a background check on hiring a new CEO?
With that said, I think John Palmer has done an admirable job trying to salvage Baxano. We'll see what Wednesday brings. Hopefully some positive news for the shareholders.
Do you have a price target?
You mentioned investing pre-bankruptcy. Are you just going to ride it out? Or do you have a price in mind?
Thoughts on Baxano
So are you staying away from Baxano? I'm confused by your stance.
Something cooking
Wiseassowl...I agree. There's a chance that a reverse merger or new Baxano might come out of these proceedings. That would be terrific for those who invested in Baxano a year ago and didn't sell their shares. Definitely some volume the last few days.
As far as averaging down...do you think that's a wise move at this point? Do you currently have shares in Baxano?
When you say "20,000 @ 0.0015 very thin" what does that mean? Or imply?
Impressed
I must say a couple of days ago when Baxano went up...I was pleasantly surprised since there was no action whatsoever the prior few days. But consecutive days of going up? Impressive. Volume is definitely increasing. Is a reverse merge possible?
Cheeky...what's your price target on Baxano?
Need more volume
I would be more excited if there was a reverse merge announcement. A 100% change is impressive but we need way more volume.
Disagree with getting nothing
Maybe I'm naive...but I feel like we may get something out of this ordeal. Penny stock or not...it's unreal to get a flat zero out of an investment. Do I anticipate getting everything back to where it was before? Absolutely not. But to get zero? That's hard for me to comprehend
I have a few questions:
1) What is the difference between an unsecured creditor versus a shareholder? How are they (unsecured creditors) bidding for a chunk of the company's assets in these bankruptcy proceedings?
2) Do the previous board of directors (Ken Reali, Paul LaViolette) totally lose out in their investments with Baxano going bankrupt?
Shareholders?
What does that mean for the shareholders? Someone mentioned earlier about a possible reverse-merge?
No volume for the last 2 days?
Has trading been halted? I'm just curious what's going on with the bankruptcy proceedings. It's frustrating to say the least.
Who currently holds shares for Baxano?
I'm in a dilemma. Isn't it even worth selling shares in Baxano at this point? Someone mentioned about a possible reverse-merge with a private biotech company. How would that benefit the common shareholders? It's disappointing to see the current state of Baxano compared to a year ago at this time. Extremely frustrating.
Baxano with a reverse-merge?
Do you think Baxano can undergo a reverse-merge with another private company, which would allow that company to go public?
Silly question: How would that benefit Baxano?
2 General Questions
1) What does "empty shell" mean?
2) What do you mean by "reverse merge" with another bio-tech company?
Update on Baxano
Is there any update on Baxano and the meeting that took place today? Curious if any one has information about what transpired today.
Price target for Baxano
Is there a price target that you have in mind in terms of selling your shares? As far as volume, is there a number that you look for that would indicate legitimate interest in the company? I also have shares in Baxano as well. It's unfortunate that they are in this state right now.
Shares
I'm curious. Do you currently have shares in this company? If so, is there any point in selling those shares with the current state that Baxano is in? Do you ride it out with the hope that there's a chance for recovery?
Restructuring?
If the company restructures, the common shareholders have no piece of the reorganized company? That would be extremely disappointing.
Baxano hiring a debt collector
Boy that is weird. My question: If Baxano can lower their debt from unsecured creditors, would that increase their overall value to the common shareholders? Who knows. A strange situation. As I mentioned before, Baxano is a terrific company driven into the ground by Ken Reali. If John Palmer can salvage this company and make it profitable again, that would be a miracle of epic proportion.
Hercules and Baxano...has that relationship completely ended?
You mentioned in a previous post about how Baxano has paid Hercules and that current shareholders could see some equity retained. What does that mean in terms of value of the stock?
Could Hercules be willing to provide them with financial backing again since Baxano has already paid off the debt? You would think Hercules has some faith in Baxano since they provided them with financial backing in the first place.
It's unfortunate that Baxano is even in this situation. Ken Reali quietly resigns and apparently has found another job at some other company. Meanwhile, the current shareholders and former employees are screwed, although some of the employees have moved on with other companies. Hopefully John Palmer can work some magic. This was a very good company with outstanding products. I honestly thought they would get more in their asset auction. Have they completely sold all their products? Or is their still some left in their pipeline?
