Book-Entry Securities
By James Chen
Updated June 26, 2019
What Are Book-Entry Securities?
Book-entry securities are investments such as stocks and bonds whose ownership is recorded electronically. Book-entry securities eliminate the need to issue paper certificates of ownership. Ownership of securities is never physically transferred when they are bought or sold; accounting entries are merely changed in the books of the commercial financial institutions where investors maintain accounts.
Book-entry securities can also be referred to as uncertificated securities or paperless securities.
How Book-Entry Securities Work
Book entry is a method of tracking ownership of securities where no physically engraved certificate is given to investors. Securities are tracked electronically, rather than in paper form, allowing investors to trade or transfer securities without having to present a paper certificate as proof of ownership. When an investor purchases a security, they receive a receipt and the information is stored electronically.
Book-entry securities are settled by the Depository Trust Company (DTC), which is the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation’s (DTCC) central securities depository. An investor receives a statement providing evidence of ownership instead of a stock certificate. Dividend payments, interest payments, and cash or stock payments due to a reorganization are processed by DTC and transferred to the appropriate investment bank or broker to deposit in the account of the securities’ holder. DTC sometimes may place temporary or permanent restrictions on certain transactions, such as deposits or withdrawals of certificates. Such a restriction is known as a chill. For example, DTC may impose a temporary chill that restricts the book-entry movement of securities, effectively closing the books and stabilizing existing positions until a merger or other reorganization has been completed...

Investors who use this direct registration system (DRS), a service offered by the Depository Trust Company, to become registered holders receive a statement of ownership attesting to the number of shares they hold, rather than a physical stock certificate.

Our press release on 9/2/21
The Time has come to bring to the market...
Micronutrient Growth Formula
Our press release on 9/2/21 has announced that GSPI is actively bringing our MNG formula into the marketplace. We will continue to update this page with the most updated news and information regarding the MNG formula.
...we will put our focus on bringing our growth formula into the market.
In our field testing, we have found that our formula not only improves the health of the roots and plant growth overall, but it also changes the condition of the soil through continued use, raising its moisture retention considerably as well as reviving the beneficial microbes that keep the soil healthy. In farming and agriculture in general poor soil quality is making it harder to grow thriving crops. By finding an additive to boost the health of a plant while also creating a long-term regrowth of the condition of the soil we are making our formula a necessity.
The top plant used the MNG formula.
As growth continues, the difference between growth grows exponentially.

In a study published in the latest issue of the journal Materials Today Advances, a team of researchers explored the utilities of graphene (GO) and its derivatives in combating the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), highlighting its applications in the biomedical domain.
Study: Potentialities of graphene and its allied derivatives to combat against SARS-CoV-2 infection. Image Credit: Rost9/ShutterstockStudy: Potentialities of graphene and its allied derivatives to combat against SARS-CoV-2 infection. Image Credit: Rost9/Shutterstock
GO has unique mechanical, electrical, and piezoelectric capabilities and exhibits antiviral properties due to the presence of several oxygen-containing functional groups, all of which make it an ideal choice for making products for containing or treating SARS-CoV-2 infections. Notably, not only GO nanoparticles, but GO-derivatives, such as reduced graphene oxide (r-GO), fullerene, graphene quantum dots (GQDs), carbon nanotubes (CNTs), etc. are quite useful against SARS-CoV-2.
There is an urgent need to develop diagnostic devices and treatment strategies to combat the SARS-CoV-2-induced pandemic. To this end, this research paper evaluates the utilities of GO and its derivatives in the fabrication of biosensors, personal protection equipment (PPE) kits, 3-D printing, and antiviral coatings, all of which may help to combat coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Evaluating all possible biomedical applications of graphene
Given unique optical and electrochemical behavior, excellent electrocatalytic activities, and thermal, mechanical, and electrical properties of GO and its derivatives, they have been used to design effective biosensors to detect SARS-CoV-2 in patient blood and saliva samples. The authors highlighted a research work wherein a biosensing platform used graphene-oxide-glazed double interdigitated capacitive (DIDC) to detect the spike protein (S1) of SARS-CoV-2. This electroactive immune-sensing platform was rapid, highly sensitive, and showed a wide detection range. It exhibited selectivity against blood-borne antigens and could stand for almost ten days at 5°C. Therefore, this biochip could be potentially used as a portable, rapid point-of-care (POC) method for early diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 using clinical samples.

Unicorns May Not Exist, but Clean, Sustainable Energy Does
Graphene_Ripples
East Peoria, IL - December 17, 2020 – NTS Innovations has achieved a major milestone in its development of a revolutionary clean energy source – Graphene Energy Harvesting (GEH). The company, in partnership with the University of Arkansas, has completed the development of its energy harvesting circuit on a silicon wafer. This technology will be packaged in a commercial chip and available for purchase through a global network of electronics distributors in 2021.
Graphene Energy Harvesting is nothing short of a game changer. A turning point in history that could change the way we do things today, for the better.
Imagine that jumble of power cords taking up space in your drawer being obsolete. No need to search for spare batteries. No more waiting on your devices to charge... they are always charging in the background, leaving your device powered and ready for use when you need it. But that's just the beginning…
How does it work?
You may have heard of a material called graphene. Graphene is 100x stronger than steel and a better conductor of electricity than copper. It is also flexible and elastic. What's better, when graphene is freestanding, it is actually in a constant state of motion.
This motion can now be harvested as clean, sustainable energy.

Nanotech Energy Announces Pre-Orders for Fully Customizable, Non-Flammable Lithium-Ion Battery Packs
Posted By Terrance Barkan, Thursday, December 9, 2021
"Battery storage has yet to reach its potential — until now," said Dr. Jack Kavanaugh, Chairman, CEO and co-founder of Nanotech Energy. "Unlike traditional battery packs that pose serious fire risks, Nanotech Energy's non-flammable lithium-ion batteries are intrinsically safe and environmentally-friendly, which we believe will inspire more industries to switch from gas to electric. Ultimately, our batteries will enable faster adoption by significantly decreasing the amount of time and accumulative costs OEMs currently incur related to testing and integrating new battery technology."
The global renewable energy market is expected to reach $1.1 trillion U.S. dollars by 2027. Industry convergence is accelerating due to an increasing number of government-backed renewable energy policies and goals, the electrification of transportation and industrials, and oil and gas companies' increased participation in the electricity value chain. Furthermore, the demand for improved battery performance is expected to increase from 185 GWh in 2020 to over 2,000 GWh by 2030.
Nanotech Energy Battery Abuse Test
Increasingly, lithium-ion battery fires and safety issues are among the leading barriers to an electric future. Nanotech Energy's groundbreaking energy storage technology provides the high capacity of a battery and the power performance of supercapacitors in a single solution with its proprietary, non-flammable Graphene-Organolyte™ batteries. The volumetric energy density of traditional lithium-ion batteries is at best 250-600 Wh/L, however, Nanotech Energy has developed five different generations of graphene-based batteries that push the limits of energy density to 400 to 900 Wh/L on the cell level.
Nanotech Energy's Graphene-Organolyte™ batteries demonstrate more than 1400 cycles (nearly 10 years) of use for 80% cut-off, compared to a traditional lithium-ion battery's 300-500 cycles (about two to three years). Unlike traditional lithium-ion batteries, Nanotech Energy's batteries also maintain performance even during extreme temperatures and weather conditions (-40°C to +50°C / -40°F to +122°F), and decrease charge times significantly with options for more sustainable models that are easily recycled.
“Imagine a world where your smartphone charges in just seconds. And then imagine that instead of traditional lithium-ion batteries that lose their charge very quickly, you’re able to use long-lasting energy storage systems that can last three times longer on a single charge and are also extremely safe. That's just a snapshot of a world charged by Nanotech Energy’s batteries,” said Jack Kavanaugh, Chairman, CEO and co-founder of Nanotech Energy. “Building safer batteries is critical for the future of energy storage. Our proprietary, non-flammable lithium-ion batteries are infinitely safer and higher performing than the industry status quo, and to be recognized for these accomplishments at CES 2022, the world’s largest product technology showcase, is a significant honor...”

Graphene, the Swiss Army Knife of Nanomaterials Science
Amelie Ferrand, Mohamed Siaj*, and Jerome P. Claverie*
Graphene was discovered 16 years ago by Geim (1) and Novoselov. (2) Since then, this multifunctional material has been used in a plethora of applications across biomedical, environmental, and energy-related domains. Our journal, ACS Applied Nano Materials, is now a little over 2 years old. With roughly 200 published reports on the topic, graphene-related publications are occupying a prominent position. How does one explain such popularity? Graphene is unique in terms of both performance and versatility. Indeed, graphene exhibits staggering electron mobility, electronic conductivity, thermal conductivity, and mechanical properties. Yet, subtle changes in its structure and its processing lead to a myriad of novel properties. In this Editorial, we have taken a closer look at the 197 papers that were published in our journal during the last 2 years (Figure 1)...

Potential graphene applications include lightweight, thin, and flexible electric/photonics circuits, solar cells, and various medical, chemical and industrial processes enhanced or enabled by the use of new graphene materials.[1]
In 2008, graphene produced by exfoliation was one of the most expensive materials on Earth, with a sample the area of a cross section of a human hair costing more than $1,000 as of April 2008 (about $100,000,000/cm2).[2] Since then, exfoliation procedures have been scaled up, and now companies sell graphene in large quantities.[3] The price of epitaxial graphene on silicon carbide is dominated by the substrate price, which was approximately $100/cm2 as of 2009. Hong and his team in South Korea pioneered the synthesis of large-scale graphene films using chemical vapour deposition (CVD) on thin nickel layers, which triggered research on practical applications,[4] with wafer sizes up to 760 millimetres (30 in) reported.[5] By 2017, graphene electronics were being manufactured in a commercial fab on a 200 mm line.[6]
In 2013, the European Union made a €1 billion grant to be used for research into potential graphene applications.[7] In 2013 the Graphene Flagship consortium formed, including Chalmers University of Technology and seven other European universities and research centers, along with Nokia.[8]

GSPI: signed an exclusive contract, Closes Deal on Graphene
Green Star Products Closes Deal on Graphene
Press Release | 02/03/2022
Salt Lake City, Utah--(Newsfile Corp. - February 3, 2022) - Today, Ms. Kristy Hunt, President of Green Star Products, Inc. (OTC PINK: GSPI) announced, after months of negotiations, GSPI signed an exclusive contract to move ahead with the Industrial development of Joseph LaStella's Patented Graphene Processing System.
The Patent # US10690047B1 was issued to Mr. LaStella in June of 2020. However, rounding up the majority of investors in Mr LaStella's patent and testing and finishing a more advanced concept of the patent (which will be kept as a trade secret) have delayed contract negotiations.
Ms. Hunt further stated, "Graphene was officially discovered in 2010 and the two researchers that discovered it received the Nobel Prize. Graphene is destined to change all our lives in the not-too-distant future. Graphene is 200 times stronger than steel, much lighter than aluminum, can carry electric current with no resistance, can filter water at the Nano scale level, to mention a few of its applications.
"In the past few years, the Graphene Industry has made great progress in the manufacturing and potential utilization of Graphene. However, it must also be understood that we are dealing with a product at the Nano level that can't be seen. It can only be categorized by a combination of the most sophisticated electron microscopes and highly trained personnel to interpret the images.
"Many types of Graphene are required for the industry; the production of single layer sheets has been successful by the industry and has many applications."
However, Mr. LaStella's patent addresses a totally different application, the enormous Structural Industry. Mr. LaStella, who is a retired Professional Licensed Structural Engineer, realized the many potential problems early in the structural game and his processing patent clearly addresses these issues concerning Graphene Polymer Composite Structures.
Graphene Polymer structural members require specific types of Graphene Powder depending on many physical parameters of the structure being manufactured. These parameters affect the dimensions of the Graphene Powder utilized, which can vary from 3 to 20 atomic layers in thickness and 20 nanometers to 350 nanometers in width. Any change in size or thickness of graphene will change strength, flexibility, and other structural behavior of the member.
Producing just one class of multiple layer graphene requires a long and highly toxic process utilizing graphite as feedstock. Using graphite is problematic because of inherent impurities, and scarce world supply as a result of lithium-ion batteries used in the expanding electric car industry that require pure spherical graphite.
In conclusion, our graphene processing system does not require graphite to produce and is always free from impurities. Our graphene system can make graphene in less than 10 minutes and allow immediate accessible change of input parameters between runs to test/produce different size graphene powder flakes, number of layers or precise combinations. The Graphene Polymer Structural Industry is still in its embryo stage and our Graphene Processing System can clearly facilitate the complicated research and development needs of this new and exciting industry. Our Graphene system is an amazing tool in the arsenal of Graphene Particle researchers and developers by allowing unlimited changes to be made onsite within minutes, as well as expansion of the system for large scale material production.

Synopsis/ brief description below:
Cross-Complaint
n. after a complaint has been filed against a defendant for damages or other orders of the court, the defendant may file a written complaint against the party suing him/her or against a third party as long as the subject matter is related to the original complaint. The defendant's filing of a complaint is called a cross-complaint, and the defendant is then called a cross-complainant and the party he/she sues is called a cross-defendant. The defendant must still file an answer or other response to the original complaint. If the cross-complaint is against the original plaintiff (original suer) then it can be served on the plaintiff's attorney by mail, but a third party must be served in person with the cross-complaint and a new summons issued by the clerk of the court. The cross-defendants must then file answers or other responses. These are called pleadings and must be carefully drafted (usually by an attorney) to properly state the factual as well as legal basis for the claim and contain a prayer for damages or other relief.

Green Star Products' Cannabis Insect Repellent Spray Passes California Testing
Salt Lake City, Utah--(Newsfile Corp. - November 11, 2021) - Today Kristy Hunt, President of Green Star Products, Inc. (OTC Pink: GSPI) announced, "Our GSPI Cannabis Insect Repellent Spray has passed stringent California testing. The required testing was performed by CannaSafe Labs for 70 different categories including pesticides and other substances which are not allowed in California."
"In fact, our all-natural Insect Repellent not only passed all 70 categories including pesticides, heavy metals, microbials, mycotoxins and residual solvents, but recorded non-detectable quantities in all of the 70 categories. The CannaSafe personnel actually contacted us directly and stated this was one of the cleanest samples that they have ever tested (see official lab results attached)."
"With this approval, we can now distribute test products to California growers, who have already expressed an interest in testing our product."
"Our repellent has already been tested by growers in Montana against two of the most prevalent and destructive insects for cannabis plants. It was successfully tested against spider mites and thrips. Ongoing testing against other insects and for other agriculturally important plants is in progress. GSPI Cannabis Insect Repellent Spray has shown to be effective against flies which may spread infection as well."
Green Star Products has acquired the exclusive distribution rights for North and South America.
The repellent was developed by Joseph LaStella, who retired as President of Green Star Products eight months ago to pursue his own private research.
Mr. LaStella has granted Green Star Products exclusive rights for distribution in North and South America, royalty free. Production of the Repellent will be done by a third party, and therefore it requires no capital investment on the part of Green Star Products.
Joseph LaStella stated: "GSPI Cannabis Insect Repellent Spray is pesticide free, an all-natural product and is safe enough to drink, which I have done several times."
President Hunt stated further: "We expect limited production by the end of December and full production by late January."
