Looks like they took out the stops and scooped them up quickly. I was able to land some more shares at a good price. You can't have 9 out of 10 analysts making a price prediction of between $18-$22 then believe the one who makes a prediction so far off in the other direction to not see what is going on here and the constant negativity is just a Hallmark of those looking to play with your emotions while they pick your pocket. I'm a long time investor and my time horizon for investments does not depend on opinions but material facts and earnings. All in my opinion of course. Just glad I got lots of fresh powder to buy when others are scared from 1 analyst's opinion based on nothing lol
So what your saying is one "analysts" "opinion" is more important than the other 5 analysts who see the price target much higher and your also saying that one opinion not only overrides the other analysts but that the recent additions of large funds positions are being made without research and a understanding of where they expect things to go.
I wish you the best of luck but I'm going to not be fooled into giving up anything and will let the company's earnings over the next few years do the talking for now. As those large institiions see value so do I. All in my opinion of course. I feel bad for those who will lose shares on the stop raid .
Let's not forget all the other "analysts" range the price target between $18-$20 so to me it looks like someone is trying to take out dumb people's stops and scooping them up. After seeing the amounts of recent new positions institutional funds started recently tells you everything you need to know. A large fund doesn't commit $30 million dollars on a whim without research. Just saying I will continue to follow the big money.
Like I said in a previous post... and while others may not be of the same opinion. I do see the company at some point doing one or both of eventually starting a dividend. Once the share price reflects earnings multiple and growth potential as the company shelters profits using the NOL and lower corporate tax rate. I also think by doing the RS so institutional fund managers can buy for clients/mutual funds etc. the institutional holders and activist investors will push the board members in the direction of doing smart further M&A as well to grow the balance sheet/ earnings growth.
I am really looking forward to when we have a couple solid quarters under our belt and as Analysts initiate coverage we should get a much more clear P/E on the stock as the market will put a value on cash flows and where things will be as time goes on.
I may be wrong about the possible dividend down the road, but to me it makes sense as more big players and funds invest they might be the ones who ultimately push the company to do certain things in favor of not just growing the business, but also bringing more value to long term investors beyond just share price appreciation. Heck anything can happen. They may decide to use profits to buy back stock and retire some of the float or instead gobble up a whole slew of other companies that will vertically integrate with ours.
Of course everything I am saying is just speculation and a opinion, but I am excited to see where we are a couple years from now. To me once the market can determine a proper multiple on the stock based on future earnings growth etc. will the true price of the stock start to come into focus.
I for one am happy that soon many of those larger institutions and funds that have strict rules will soon be able to invest in the company. They tend to have a much longer time horizon than the average joe and will add a lot more stability. It will be nice to not have to deal with the manipulators and crooks so much after all these years. Facts like assets, earnings multiple etc will drive things which is a much needed and welcome change to what we have had to endure for so many years of the BK up until now.
So yeah looking forward to those kinds of material events to unfold and see where we are once the dust clears and we have a much more realistic view of our earnings potential through organic growth as well as future M&A etc. I am of the opinion after a few more earnings quarters things will visibly be different in a positive much more transparent way.
All in my opinion of course. Looking forward to continuing to hold as I personally am of the opinion that continued patience will ultimately bring about the most returns. AIMHO of course. :)
I wonder if after a few quarters are under the combined companies belt that the board might push to establish a dividend payment of some sort as the assets profits are tax sheltered using the nols to increase the profits along with the lower corporate tax rate. If not I could see them continuing to move quickly expanding with more M&A activity. Make no mistake I think they know exactly what they are doing going after Xome right after for 35 million i think it was announcing the new ceo of that subsidiary.
To me it seems they are vertically integrating more similar pieces of the puzzle creating a more modern servicing company that leverages the internet more than traditional brick and mortar customer walking into some random local bank hoping to get a good rate and qualify for a mortgage.
I like many others have been here a very long time. The long trial was something else that opened everyone's eyes to some really crazy stuff. After all this time waiting and fighting our new company is finally hitting the ground running. I am sure the large funds with stakes have a time horizon and estimates on how profitable the company will be 1-5 years from now as well as how large its market cap will grow. earnings growth expansion and a true multiple assigned to the stock eventually once the picture becomes more clear. Things will not trade at some form of book value or underlying assets for long. Like any stock valuations on earnings growth and multiples will eventually establish themselves.
I think its just a matter of patience to see that happen as things are just only getting going finally post mergers. I have said for the longest time that material events would lead the way forward and everything else is either opinion or white noise not worth your time or paying attention too. I know thats hard for some to follow considering all that has gone on these many years and who the average shareholders are up against. Just remember that these people who tried to steal from us for the longest time would still do so if they could, but now the only way for them to enjoy the spoils is to grow the company and lift all boats. So as far as im concerned I am personally a long term holder as I expect things to only improve over time as the NOL is utilized and as they grow organically as well as further m&a.
I think it will be interesting to see where we are 4-12 quarters from now as more in the market begin to notice. I am really interested to see what the eps growth will be in the future as well as the multiple on the stock once its a lot clearer how quickly they can grow the top line and bottom line. Everything is just my opinion of course.
I am interested to hear what other people think if they wish to chime in. I can tell you one thing after all these years and what us old timers have been through this company and the situation that lead us here is something much more than just money. We fought for so long against the crooks who wanted to wipe us out even our own so called lawyer was working against us the shareholders it was unreal how things went, but now that we survived you can be damn sure I am not going anywhere until I reap the fruits of our collective labor down the road like i expect the larger funds/holders to do. They got another thing coming if they expect me to release my shares early. After all this time spend fighting I have no problem just letting things grow over time. Again just my opinion of course.
glad they likely will be mailing these out to all the shareholders today.
I see no issue with the vote going the way they want as all the institutional holders and the vast majority will likely all vote yes on the merger in my opinion.
I am just glad after the long drawn out court battle and many years of fighting just to survive we are finally getting a great material event that will help us grow, add good assets to the combined company as well as being able to use our nice tax shelter boosting earnings overall.
I know it has been hard on a lot of us. God knows ive been through hell and back after seeing the years of manipulations with the facts on the ground and the many times we have been left in the dark.
Now many have opinions in regards to legacy assets and other possible things that can add value, but even if none of that comes true the fact is we will be profitable with growing EPS which after a few quarters of financial results the market will get a good idea of forward earnings potential and assign a multiple on the stock which of course will shift over time.
I really do not care what the market makers or anyone else does speech wise or pps manipulation wise because once the deal is signed off on and things get going it will be drastically harder for them to control things. The earnings, assets on the balance sheet, and future growth being tax sheltered will all be facts that will ultimately determine the future.
So after fighting and holding on all these years we are finally approaching something really positive in my opinion. I will personally enjoy watching the company grow over time.
I would love to make it to this shareholders meeting. I expect it to be a bit more of a spirited and positive energy situation instead of how its been in the past.
I know that I expect to continue to hold far into the future because I expect the company to grow much bigger in my opinion. Who knows maybe this deal is just the 1st of many? Either way I am excited to see where he company is 2-5 years from now.
Anyways back to lurking and everything in my post is my opinion of course. Congrats to all us long time holders who have never given up hope.
I like that the CEO of what will be our combined company is a straight shooter in regards to how the company will get that lower tax rate and how the merger drops that tax rate even further because of WMIH NOL.
Its nice that while other companies in the same sector will get a lower tax rate due to the corporate rate being dropped our company will stand out because the NOL drops the effective rate an additional 21% beyond everyone else and I bet the accountants that do the corporate taxes for the company will find whatever other advantages exist in law to take that effective 3% rate and bring it further down.
So when a investor is looking at this sector of the market when WMIH earns income from business it gets that nice tax shelter its competition does not. So while every company in the same sector will get a higher EPS growth rate on the reduced corporate tax rate. WMIH gets the further advantage of having every dollar in earnings effect the bottom line because almost all its income going forward is tax free. The exciting part about that is we can see the company grow much more rapidly because not having to pay basically any tax on its earnings will be huge and should be reflected.
All in my opinion of course. Very exciting indeed.
Yes "once the deal is done" those who wish to manipulate the stock price and its current investors will have a much harder time doing so once the company has a few quarterly earnings under its belt with EPS growth and a multiple of book value the market will place on the stock.
Facts will surely outweigh anyone's feelings or speculations. Until that time I expect more of the same trying to swindle shareholders out of what they own. Like ive always said facts and material events matter everything else is just white noise better to just ignore.
After all these long years of waiting and fighting during the BK we finally get to see this company rise from the ashes and actually grow organically with its nice NOL tax shelter going forward.
So yes i agree we wont see much until the the deal is done and earnings growth, multiple is put on the stock by the market. But hey we have waited this long just got to have patience. I will enjoy seeing the company grow over time. As for current pps we may stay in this tight trading range or we may not, but it doesnt matter because once the deal is done the earnings growth and facts will surely outweigh everyone else who wish to lie, cheat, and steal from shareholders.
All in my opinion of course.
Ohh of course I and many others would love a solid dividend if it is in the company best interest to do so rather than use that money to grow the company or retire part of the float going forward through buybacks.
What I am looking forward to once the merger is complete is the simple things like quarterly EPS growth, a multiple put on the stock based on all the important factors, and for the market to take notice of this company that has a nice tax shelter each quarter using its NOL to further push its EPS higher each quarter/year.
Once that occurs things like dividends, stock buybacks, further M&A, etc... is just the cherry on top.
Time is on our side it wont be much longer that we will have to endure the major manipulation. After all these years finally we can expect earnings, growth, etc...
All in my opinion of course.
I kind of agree, but once the deal is done and the combined company can start tax sheltering those earnings using the NOL the EPS will shoot up each quarter couple that with the market giving the stock a multiple on projected EPS, growth, NOL, etc...
Like I said in my previous posts its going to be nice to get some earnings calls under its belt and for the market to assign a multiple on the stock based on growth, eps, etc.
Just remember facts & material events dont care about peoples feelings/speculations.
It will be a nice change of pace finally to have a performing combined company with actually growth, earnings, etc..
All in my opinion of course.
since when does a stock trade at book value? the vast majority of stocks on major exchanges trade at multiples of book value because of projected forward earnings growth etc. not just the underlying assets/cash on hand.
Which is why it will be nice to get a few quarters of earnings of the combined company under its belt to have the market assign a proper multiple on the stock based on projections of EPS, growth, NOL, ETC.....
I wont make a exact prediction, but I am fairly certain the stock in the future will trade like any other stock at a multiple of its book value based on many factors.
ALL IN MY OPINION OF COURSE.
going to be nice when the combined company can shelter all the taxes on combined income for years to come. It will be nice to have the ability to calculate EPS with that tax advantage and assign a nice multiple on the stock itself based on factual projections going forwards into the future.
Its going to be nice to finally have quarterly earnings statements with eps and a multiple on the stock, but also knowing that all future earnings will be basically tax free until that NOL is used up which should provide quick growth and valuations to increase quickly.
It will also be interesting to see what happens after a few quarters of earnings calls get put under its belt. I know some analysts will have different multiples they put on the stock due to projected eps growth out into the future including any potential future M&A activity also.
All in my opinion of course.
Going to be interesting in the future when the facts and material events actually lead it forwards instead of speculations, naysayers, and complete transparent negative nellys.
MATERIAL EVENTS & FACTS dont care about your feelings. sorry that trumps everyones opinions FACTS & MATERIAL events are what matter.
I personally hope all those few remaining shorts burn that are left and that it gaps higher never to fill, but either way they deserve to loose every cent they have. Could not happen to a more deserving bunch of crooks taking advantage of prior no material events. Now that we have had solid positive news for a while.
All in my opinion of course. now back to lurking. cheers
Speaking of direct money/checks I would be looking to get the rest of my H's paid off as I still get quarterly statements with interest. The lawyers have held a large chunk of cash in "reserve" for employee claims most of which are baseless or have been settled for much less. I always found it annoying how they purposely strung it out as long as they could for which I always thought was to milk the billing as long as they could. Now that things are moving forward to some degree I hope they will finish off the piers payments.
Once that is complete anything left in reserve from those funds is supposed to flow down the waterfall if I remember it correctly. As for the assets still being retained some confusion regarding if the mbs holders whoever they are would get that payout of interest earned and also will the trusts with these retained assets just continue on earning interest or will they be liquidated and then payed out.
I dont think anyone has a 100% in black and white idea of exactly how this all will occur and to whom. I always thought/knew that a company this large had many assets tucked away in many areas. The problem is that the crooks involved in the case from day one have had a lot of key players working to screw equity and hide the sausage from us. The question is now that things seemingly are going to start moving forward again when will we be able to see all those assets and get a breakdown of what will happen to them in terms of reaching down the waterfall to escrow holders. I dont think anyone can say with certainty what all those assets are and what exactly will happen.
Do they continue to earn interest or will they be sold? in either case what does that mean for escrows. I guess time will tell.
Everything is in my opinion of course and in terms of that big document showing some of these assets recently and the 600m+ interest I have heard different thoughts about who they are owed to. Some say MBS holders of those underlying assets while others say its owed to escrow. Either way it is interesting that all these billions of dollars in assets exist and have been there all along earning income.
Does anyone think escrows can see a dime before piers holders are made whole? I was always under the impression that must occur first before any funds can flow further down the waterfall, but who knows i could be wrong.
I would like to hear peoples thoughts on all these issues as I dont think we have exact info. Like I always say material events matter. I would consider piers being made whole a material event and once that happens can I put my attention to the escrows getting possibly paid something.
Just my thoughts and opinion.
I am fairly certain those type of questions/forms are asked by all brokers in terms of updating your personal info regarding occupation, etc in terms of forms that the broker must provide for you to help in filing anything related to your investments for yearly tax returns.
I would not read too much into that as its something that brokers do to update your information etc.
If it said specifically something regarding a particular stock or cusip/escrow then thats something else, but I have eturd as well and have not seen anything like that.
well the day to day pps should matter not to a long holder as once the material event occurs and the merger is done we will get quarterly earnings statements along with earnings multiples put on the stock with all the assets and future earnings potential etc.
Most stocks trade at these multiples beyond book value based on future eps and other things factored in.
We all know that the stock has been heavily controlled/shorted since the BK up until now and I see no reason for them to stop. In fact I bet they will game the system further in order to cover over time or quickly as to limit potential losses/ book gains.
So unless you are day trading then the manipulation in either direction does not matter much to long holders because eventually the combined company and its detailed earnings statements/public filings coupled with assets like NOL utilization will dictate the pps true value going forward and at that time a real multiple on the stock will go in effect. Just my humble opinion of course.
So I think I will be fine hitching my wagon to all these other large funds and institutions. They are not in this for a quick few bucks, but rather what the company will grow into with future earnings having a nice tax shelter and plenty of room for exponential growth over time which in turn will bring "value" to its shareholders.
in my opinion of course.
your spouting nonsense the majority stake holder which is a institutional investor already agreed to the merger.
Come on you must know if a person or company holds 51% or more of a company they have the controlling interest and dictate what happens the rest of the shareholders could all vote no on the deal and it would still go through. Do you really think you are fooling anyone with your comments? its basic investing 101 that a majority stake controls the voting rights.
I would like someone to chime in on the document in terms of the interest payment and also the underlying assets.
1. since it says the interest payment distribution will be made this month will it flow as cash divided among P,K,Q escrow and what per each will be the number according to the interest payment.
2. will the underlying assets be exchanged for shares or cash in the future as they would be rolled into the merged company or one of its subs.
you must read all the exhibits those assets held in trust belong to us one way or another. The cash interest distribution does as well.
The way I read it we need to be compensated one way or another for them all. The document lists in detail what each one is and what its value is.
by the way. this interest payment is a nice start. I got a bunch of H,P,K,Q so even if its still like you said $60 per P for this interest payment thats real money to me.
The question we need answered is after the interest payment is made will we get a share swap for these assets? or will they all be sold and distributed in cash down the road.
OMG PEOPLE READ THE DOCUMENT IT LISTS ALL THESE HUGE ASSETS WE KNEW THE CROOKS WERE HIDING !!!!!!!! HUGE NEWS IN MY OPINION!
when looking at the document at the exhibits in A they have a super long list of all these remaining assets which were in safe harbor?
They show the name and collateral balance of each asset and at the bottom it shows more info.
Would someone want to chime in on this document. Seems to me they will make distributions on the interest? to escrow holders?
Looks to me like these assets are huge with some of the home equity trusts being valued in the 5+ billion dollar range while they list dozens of other assets over a billion dollars and others below that.
Are the trustee's to liquidate these assets and pay it all cash to escrow or just the interest to escrow while the underlying assets get a stock swap for its values?
I am interested to hear other peoples thoughts on this document and I am happy it is saying they expect to make some distributions this month if im reading it right.
shorts will eventually have to cover or else they will lose more money. I wonder if some of them are asleep at the wheel lol
I agree. A lot more material events will occur. It is just a matter of waiting until the new merged company can get a few earnings calls under its belt and foward looking eps can be baked into the share price going forward.
I care not what the daily pps does right now. Once the company is merged and they have to disclose in quarterly filings will things get a bit clearer in terms of valuation/ earnings multiples.
I can see this deal as a start in a string of future deals maybe down the road to expand quickly in order to use the tax shelter to a more rapid growth potential.
For me its all about continuing to hold and heck I have been her since the early days of the BK. If ive waited this long your damn right I am going to continue to see this company flourish and grow over time. All in my opinion of course. Now back to lurking and ignoring all the dumb noise a lot of people try to flood the board with.
Just remember material events matter 99.99999% more than what some random person with possible bad intentions towards your financial well being says on a public message board.
AIMHO ..... congrats to all us longs who have been here since the crazy long trial and all the crazy manipulation up until this point.

I am so glad that material events have finally started to happen. I wish the mods of the board would update with links to the recent merger news.
I will now have to read into the assets nationstar has under management and I would be interested in seeing how the wmih NOL's will be utilized. all in my opinion of course.
exactly. people who deploy capital like to not only gain returns but like to have said money always working for them. So they must know something we dont and continue to want to be part of our future by financing it so they will benefit as well.
or more like while trying to cover short positions they were clearly able to take out a few stops along the way. the tree has been shook and all the easy leafs to fall were scooped up.
Everything up or down has been on low volume less than half of %1 float or less. yawn....... the doom and gloomers might have a better chance at being effective if reality didnt say otherwise as far as the volume vs float is concerned. low volume. no material events = lots of meaningless jibberish the same one sided posts day in day out.
Wake me up when a material event occurs. all in my opinion of course.
ok back to lurking.
hence why smart people never put automatic stops especially on low volume stocks/ penny stocks/ stocks that move not based on material news or events.
win or lose I made my position a long time ago and would rather see things through to the end whatever that means. So my ownership of the float has remained and will remain steadfast in my hands.
Funny though if the sky were falling we would see more than a fraction of 1% of the float trade hands per day. I see the hedgies and most commmon folk remaining put.
all in my opinion of course. Another interesting thing is the mathematical frequency by which those of a certain leaning post into the wind hoping to effect weak minded individuals with words. just my opinion of course.
It would be nice for them to finish paying off the H's as im still owned a bit more. Either way I see no reason why they should not at some point distribute down the waterfall as the reserves have not been used to my knowledge.
all in my opinion of course.
I would be very interested to see if the naked shorts have started to cover during the past couple of weeks up until now. That is if one wanted to speculate about the timing of a possible material event regarding M&A action.
With that said i suspect most common everyday non hedge fund holders have been and remain in a holding pattern until some material event occurs. Of course there are those that try to flip/day trade and those that think shorting is a good idea, but looking at the very tepid volume overall be it to the upside or down you can clearly see that none of it is based off anything material. One would think that the larger hedge funds who have millions invested would get cold feet and volume would spike massively if they wanted to tuck tail and run. In many metrics i see the opposite and they remain steadfast like most regular shareholders.
Ask yourself if a hedge fund would waste time in a penny stock with low volume to what? grind out a few hundred bucks a day maybe on the margins while risking millions of dollars having 95% of it sit overnight day after day. If you know anything about how these types of funds operate they tend to like to go back to cash and stay nimble especially on risky investments or stocks with wild swings. furthermore they see stocks with low volume like ours like kryptonite. So again why with all that do they keep put?
The answer to me is very clear to why under all those things they remain exactly where they are much like most shareholders are waiting for the same material events to occur to realize the real gains.
All in my opinion of course. Everything else is just white noise and not worth paying attention to in my opinion.
Its been so many years seeing this thing through that I have the patience to wait on those material events to occur whenever they may be. Some here are expecting others with less fortitude to release what they own back into the float for others to buy. Again just my opinion of course.
Ok back to lurking.
if thats the case why spend so much time here stating so?
time to close out and cover your short position while you still can. these constant posts make the intentions very transparent.
all in my opinion of course. ok back to lurking.
In my opinion it could be either of those, but not likely. I think you need to totally disconnect this company/stock from anything logical or fundamental when it comes to its trading.
No material events in a negative light have been represented recently, but rather one positive press release regarding the company paying cash to close out those notes which were draining funds slowly with interest every quarter that they were not paid off.
I for one am glad they are now paid in full and is one less thing the company has as a obligation to deal with. As far as the recent price movement is concerned like i said its nothing based on news or rational. Someone or some groups of people with not even that sizable margin accounts can short//purchase/manipulate a stock like this one easily due to the low volume and share price.
It does not take a lot for them to move it in one direction or another on such small volume. Sentiment also plays a role in those peoples strategy. Funny how some certain names keep beating the same drum beat day in day out while others only show up to post something outlandishly negative based on no facts when its moving in said direction.
To sum up I do not concern myself with the daily movements of pennys in one direction or another. Material events and facts are what really matters going forward. everything else you hear is just noise and static trying to goad a reaction out of you or to stress some holders out of their positions. I dont let the ramblings of someone with alterior motives effect me or the facts on the ground.
My position could be underwater upwards of 75% and i still would not budge a inch because i know its just trading based on no material information and low volume movements which can easily be controlled daily.
I feel secure actually that so many people are so interested in some no name company with no business to speak of, limited volume, and share price. with all the easier targets and other places to be they still spend so much time here? why is that you have to ask yourself. Once you answer that question ask why the major hedge funds and investment grade funds are not budging either. they usually know of material events before the common man does, but yet they watch the daily low volume movement and just sit on said positions. might it be because they know what they have and have the patience to realize a longer term gain on a longer term investment? I personally think so.
I think its very telling when the same group of people are trying to shift sentiment to the negative spectrum based on what? peoples lack of patience? low volume to the downside? Just remember material events are what will determine the earnings potential going forwards as well as future valuations. Nothing negative nor positive has happened materially so it does not reflect reality. When a material event like a M&A Only then will the share price start to reflect its true value or at least start to move in a logical direction and not what has been going on during the long period of radio silence to the public from the company by which any individual or group with deeper pockets coupled with low volume and a loud bullhorn can try to shift sentiment to their favor to grind out money from those people without the patience or realization of whats going on.
This is all just in my opinion of course. Hence why i rarely post these days as nothing has materially happened and I like many others are waiting for the company to deploy its financial assets to drive earnings forwards for its shareholders.
Have a nice weekend everyone. back to lurking.
best call I have heard thus far. Although they cannot vocally say the targets I see them making this year interesting.
KKR will make sure a good deal is done for them which will benefit us. Just my opinion of course.
Back to lurking.
Been a long time lurking guys, but I thought I would check in as its still been a waiting game with many issues.
I as well as others got a check in the mail today. I owned common, prefs and piers. I assume it is for the remaining piers/H units that are still owed. I am not exactly sure of the remaining amount, but after this check I think a portion still remains to be paid to close out that position. If anyone knows the percentage that remains to be paid?
It is welcome for me as I have been ill for a long time now due to complications from surgery and as you all know between increased health insurance premiums/ bills every little bit counts.
Although I am not sure of the remaining amount exactly I do not think its a large amount left to satisfy remaining piers claims.
I am looking forward to the waterfall continuing to flow down over time hopefully.
As for the new company going forward it seems the share price/volume has been in a tight waiting pattern for something. accumulation for some event in the future maybe? who knows, but keeping the mentality that I will wait until material events happen makes it much easier to remain patient. I mean after the many years of court until now its been a long road already. I would never forgive myself if i didnt see this thing through to whatever future we have.
I am just glad to see Piers paid down to the point that the waterfall is close to flowing down to the next level.
Anyways back to lurking. Hope you all had a good new year and if someone wants to chime in with what remains of the piers per unit to still be paid after todays payment I would love to know or any other thoughts.
A suggestion to clean up this board so on topic discussion can continue. Someone should open a new board on this site that just talks about escrow account holders. It seems as though a lot of them exist that no longer have a interest in the new company WMIH and would rather focus on the escrows. Just a idea.
Anyways did anyone with WMI HLDGS CORP SR 2LIEN notes see a chunk separated in their accounts this morning. Is this part of the call lottery and the separated amount will be called on the date show on the separated amount? thanks.
I assume the WMI HLDGS CORP SR 2LIEN partial call lottery a lot of us were notified about will be completed by tomorrow. I wonder how much of the remaining positions will be called. Once the WMI HLDGS CORP SR 2LIEN are taken care of what will be left is to pay the remainder of the cash owed on H positions to fully satisfy them. After which the common/prefs would be next in the waterfall.
I assume they are working on remaining tax issues and claims to continue to free up funds to work towards this.
I really hope in the next couple of months whats left of my remaining H position will be paid in full.
If anyone has already gotten the recent WMI HLDGS CORP SR 2LIEN lottery completed I would be interested if you could chime in what percentage of remaining notes were called. Otherwise I guess I will just wait to see what appears in my account tomorrow or by monday.
Have a nice weekend everyone.
I got that alert as well in my eturd account. I wonder if they also plan on sending out checks soon for the remaining amount that is owed to H holders or even some of it. It has been a while since I have seen a payment on that front.
has anyone asked the question why long time serious posters like myself and many others who have been here since the good old bad days in court etc since the start are not posting very often if at all?
I would say that its not that we are gone or moved on to other pastures. Rather watching every tick of a stocks pps is only meaningful to a day trader on margin. I would also add that the board at times devolves into rehashing of the same posts reworded only a little bit and sometimes not at all.
I will say though the main reason why a lot of the old timers/long timers whatever you want to call us dont post as much anymore is because frankly not much can be discussed other than theories and speculative ideas.
The material events and filings moving forward will drive us to our destinations over time in terms of growth, forward earnings multiples, price to book value multiples, etc... and so on and so forth...
The most amusing part I will admit is seeing the posts that exclaim that a stock listed on a major exchange with working capital ready to deploy is going to just close up shop one day. or even better the ones claiming that the value of the company is going to trade at a fraction of the cash it has on hand. I have not really decided yet if this is more of a troll with no life who thinks most people are weak minded individuals and will believe a strangers rantings in text on a message board OR the alternative someone who actively has a vested interest in shaping a narrative among investors..... I guess in the end it really matters not its up to each individual to make up his or her own mind in regards to life decisions.
So to sum up this post material events are what we are waiting for. The stock could go to 5 dollars or to 2 on no news and I would not bat an eye until filings/news comes from the company in a official capacity. Thus everything good or bad posted is just theories, speculation, trolling, penny flipers trying to drive sentiment, and everything else under the sun.
Like ive said before until material events occur by which we can calculate financial facts with everything else is just noise and honestly a waste of time. I look forward to seeing the hard numbers when a deal is done and then extrapolating the notion of multiple deals on the horizon by which we could get a wide variety of PE multiples and multiples of book value X other factors giving us a idea of probable long term growth/ nol/tax shelter utilization...etc...
All in my own opinion of course.
I sense that people will quickly take advantage of the buying op next open, but outside of that I could care less about the swings we have on no news.
whatever the reason be it a hedge fund cleaning up its books for end of year tax purposes etc. or other ideas which i wont even go into. The point is its still white noise.
Does anyone honestly think when a material event occurs it could not swing either way? a lot of people sell the news etc... or sometimes buy it as well. those in the know regarding a merger structure for example will be able to properly calculate forward PE multiple and projected earnings etc... in order to assign the right multiple to book value and the true price discovery of that value often can take some time to become clear to investors.
Many times volatility can occur until the smoke clears, but honestly I intend on remaining a long time investor in this company. I mean its taken this long to get to this point so why would I even consider jumping ship anytime soon.
So I will repeat what I always say. Material events matter and everything else is just noise. Until material events occur its all just speculation.
Looking forward to the company growing going forward and eventually that will start to happen so I am going to sit back and relax.
Everyone have a nice weekend. all in my opinion of course.
man it really is amazing seeing posts of mine going back to the Court room days when we saw first hand the cloak and dagger activities of the Delaware court and our so called legal representatives. The many long nights reading court filings/ documents and dialing in to the proceedings as we saw this whole affair drag on for years and years.
If anything I learned a very valuable life lesson and I am well aware that even though a lawyer is supposed to have a fiduciary duty to his client that is not really the case sometimes which I am of the opinion a lot of these crooks should be dis-bared for.
In fact there is a federal case going on now in NJ and other tri state area states regarding Judges and lawyers who would collude against there own clients in order to pad bills and basically rob people blind on both sides. Also pay to play ( meaning if you got the money you can win in court no matter the evidence) A lot of these cases are more on the civil side. like divorces, but also some other types.
Anyways like I said I learned a very valuable lesson and I would say I am more jaded than ever about our so called justice system. Dont get me wrong I still think its one of the best in the world despite its short comings. The problem isnt with the law so much as the flawed/corrupt people practicing it.
Anyways as far as the topic of distribution goes I think the division between the pref and common class percentage should hold true if or when we would ever see fruits of that side of the spectrum. I am more interested at the moment for material events pertaining to the company going forward. The legacy items like escrows are on automatic pilot as it were and since we have no say or control over it why spend any thought on it. Either it will happen eventually or it wont. I am of the opinion that its better to use your energy focusing on things regarding WMIH going forward, but thats just my 2 cents.
All in my own opinion of course.
seems to me like we are in a holding pattern until the material events occur. As ive always said everything else is white noise clogging up the board and is a large reason why a lot of us old longs dont post much these days because what would the point be.
Until the company deploys its capital the back and forth trading is just that trading on no material events or information.
I have noticed a uptick though in the negative sentiment posting with increased frequency for some reason. Its just a guess, but maybe its close to the buy points they want. I really dont know, but it is humorous to see what they will say next.
As always everything is just in my opinion and remember until material events occur nothing positive or negative is really happening. In my opinion the company will deploy its capital at the right target/targets that can bring good value to it shareholders as well as themselves. Lets not forget that the people running the company as well as the hedge funds have a vested interest in seeing the companies stock do well over time so they gain nothing by not deploying that capital. I guess they are just trying to make the best deal possible. All in my humble opinion of course.
