Anyone watch The Company Men?
Not bitter sounding, just honest worthy advice. Thanks
Not to sound bitter because I'm not when I say this.
But hope is for the birds. Do you know how much time we waste by hoping and not doing? 2013 for me is going to be a destiny year. Everyday I plan to live deliberately. No more wasting time for me wishing and hoping. This year I do and I will do to the max. Never looking back again. The difference between success and failing is doing. I hope you get what I mean because I can tell you are very sweet and you remind me of myself once. Everything you need is inside you now all you have to do is MOVE.
Have a great weekend.

Thank you for the blessing. I really do hope that change is coming, I will keep my outlook positive for 2013. Lets hope 2013 will be a good year for us both and all the good people of our planet.
Yes it is but he taught him how to fish. So how do you think his next call went?
You know the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. 2013 is here time to change things up and get new results.
Be blessed my friend a change is coming your way. Joy not sorrow shall be the cup you drink from.
LOL the end is funny.
Some lessons come for free.
Thanks for the mark...I always act as if
ACT AS IF
LOL... I'm gonna call it a day now, signing out for today.
I like your board idea, otherwise I wouldn't be doing this ;)
Sounds good to me. I like the direction you are going.
They will, we just started. It takes time sometimes. Just need to get the word out and spice up the intro some more, so they get hooked on the concept of this board. And I'm working on both of that. As long as there are at least 2 people (you and me) talking, the bord is active. Hope you don't mind, but I've made a sticky of my Wolf of Wall Street post. Otherwise we would have to repeat it over and over and we're not a spam board.
Yeah I have seen a lot as well. Maybe it will just take some time for them to discover us.
Thanks. Still working on a design idea for the intro. Some color in it could bring in some visitors. Also added the board link in my signature, for some extra promotion.
There has to be some movie buffs here, have seen some gordon gekkos and scarfaces in signatures and profile pics around here.
I like the flag of origin idea! Looks really nice, well done!
Can't wait to see it. I actually own the book by Jordan himself. On a side note, it would be nice if we could get a group of people to become regular visitors and post/chat on their off hours of trading.
There's currently a movie in production called The Wolf of Wall Street. It's directed by Martin Scorsese, screenplay is by Terence Winter and the lead role is for Leonardo DiCaprio along with other cast members including Jonah Hill, Jean Dujardin, Rob Reiner, Kyle Chandler and Matthew McConaughey.
It's based on the book by the same name. The same book that inspired Boiler Room. Looks like a potential Wall Street movies classic.
It's title should not be confused with Wolves of Wall Street, that's a completely different movie. A really bad one, please do not watch that one.
Sure, go ahead. You're welcome to do any changes you feel are necessary. If for some reason I don't agree, I can always change it. So feel free to edit as if it was your own board
Would you mind if I spiced up the intro a bit with some graphics? And maybe make 2 lists, one for fiction and one for non-fiction? Your board, so your call.
Cool, I'll get it done as soon as I regain my mod position
Sure, would be fun. Found another one for the list as I just watched it:
Barbarians at the Gate
Since you will be looking for some more titles, you want to be an assistant mod here?
Welcome! Thanks for the new titles, I will update them when I become mod again.
Some more titles for you:
If you also want a documentary, Chasing Madoff.
Also don't forget Limitless. It has a bit of trading in it.
The Hudsucker Proxy has a plot in it about stocks.
And don't forget about Other People's Money. That one gets a +1 from me.
Glengarry Glen Ross also gets a +1 from me, but that one is already on your list. Always Be Closing!
I am on the same quest as you, as I love trading themes in movies. I'm looking for some more titles for you.
Greetings from a cinephile.
A few more to add to the list:
Rogue Trader (1999)
Trading Places (1983)
Glengarry Glen Ross (1992
Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room (2005)
Trader (1987)
American Psycho (2000)
Bonfire of the Vanities (1990)
Quants: The Alchemists Of Wall Street (2010)
Margin Call (2011)
Hey guys. Made this board after I was watching some Wall Street Movies and realized that I don't know too many. Here is a place to chat about and rate Wall Street movies, from ones that are out on DVD to ones that are still in production.
