Way I see it, its up to the game developers...they can take "front-money" or Exclusivity-agreements, but then the popularity of the game is limited to a "one-console" faction.
...Or take-up the financial burden themselves, possibly a investment-group. The cost of producing (Simple games, at least..)
has been going down for years, as computers have become capable of more "flops"/calculations-per-second. (And I AM aware the games are more complex, but they are not starting from scratch.)
For me, its simple economics, having had every system since the Commodor64, I'll re-purchase the one thats proved to endure over years.
...Funny thing, them 'Ol Atari consoles (the one's that are not in landfills)...most of 'em still work...plug 'em in and go.!
Yeah same here..you just know that all those decisions were made by non-gamers..~
I'd buy Sony before another "X" product.
I think they just gave Sony a huge opportunity to capture a larger market:
Thats exactly what I said when the Xbox changed formats. F-'em.
And even though there are games I wouldn't mind playing, they need to address backwards-compatable games. Of the two older xbox's I have, one developed the "red-ring-of-death"...even though the have been regularly cleaned of dust that might hamper the cooling.
With the "multiple-cores" they put in consoles (All that processing-power!)...why can't they accomodate older games.....GREED, that's why.
Sony has been more accomedating, older titles re-released in digital-form. ("Old-School" Wolfenstine comes to mind.)...but your still paying (lower prices) for games you already own.
Next Xbox coming by 2013 holiday season
By Chris Morris
Enjoy that time as the only next-generation console on the market, Wii U. The competition is coming sooner than you might think.
Bloomberg reports Microsoft will release its next generation Xbox in time for the 2013 holidays. While the date has been widely expected, the news service says unnamed company insiders have now confirmed the time period.
There are still plenty of questions about the reveal, though. One of the biggest is whether Microsoft will wait until the E3 trade show in June to debut the Xbox 720 (or Xbox 8, or Durango, or whatever they decide to call it), though the company is said to be considering a separate event dedicated solely to the system's reveal.
Rumors about the tech specs of the next system are everywhere. Most recently, Xbox World reported that it will boast an improved version of Kinect, a Blu-ray drive, and a new controller with an embedded HD touchscreen.
Microsoft, not surprisingly, declined to comment on the story.
Part of the reason for that 'no comment' is the company's long-standing refusal to discuss rumor and speculation. The other is that it doesn't want to distract anyone from the Xbox 360 this year.
It's a strategy that's working so far. During Black Friday week, Microsoft beat out the competition by selling 750,000 Xbox 360 consoles. Halo 4, which many speculate is the swan song for the Xbox 360 as far as original AAA titles go, is also selling well.
Bloomberg's story did not, however, make mention of the streamlined "Xbox TV" device that has been making the rumor rounds lately. The Verge reported late last week that Microsoft was planning a set-top box device that would provide access to core entertainment services as well as casual gaming options at a lower price than its next gen console. That device, reportedly, is meant to compete with Apple TV.
#2 is by far the best of the series, but they are all 10/10's in my book
Did you play #1 and #2? Are they as good?
With the change in consoles coming and gamers then not able to sell trade their games any longer..a change that most hate because of nostalgic, fun and financial reasons..there is quite a bit of talk of gamers then going back to the PC for gaming..apparently plenty of game makers have suggested they don't like the the direction of the big three console makers either and would make their games PC specific for those angry at having to own a game online..not having the game at home on your shelf..no trade-ins..no taking it to your friends to play there or trade with them..no collecting.. etc..all the shit that made it fun..pirating is the given reason..but profit is the motive..no more manufacturing and complete control over consumer behavior..fuck em~
I have actually never heard of that game...looked it up....i haven't played a pc game in years but it looks really good
Damn this Mass Effect 3 got me hooked bad~

Once again COD doesn't disappoint.

My unit is only about 12' away to get that size. Throw rate is great.

BETTING TIPS
For starters, you will need to be patient. While the bookie puts out every game on the board as a bettable game, there are very few games that offer value. You only want to be on a game in which you feel that you have an overlay. (information and odds in your favor).
You must be very well disciplined. Avoid playing games in which your favorite team or favorite player is playing. These factors and can will skew your vision and created a biased opinion which will end up costing you.
Check out stats on how both teams have played lately. See who is hot and who is cold. Break it down even further by figuring out what players are hot and which are cold. Do this for approximately the last 5 games in baseball, 3 games in basketball/football. Also know how teams do on the home vs. the road.
Other factors to be heads up for include checking lineups before the game starts to make sure key players aren't sitting, injury reports, weather and more. You will see lots of trends and angles on the web, but don't make a play based solely on that info. What happened years ago really has no bearing on what happens today. It's very rare in professional team sports that one team "owns" another as well, so beware of those type of stats.
