Through its oil and gas activities, Tri-Valley derives the greatest part of its revenue from oil and gas drilling, and oil and gas production. Tri-Valley also owns, explores and develops precious and industrial mineral properties in Alaska. The public parent company owns two wholly-owned subsidiaries. Tri-Valley Oil & Gas Co. ("TVOG"), a California corporation formed in 1963, merged with the parent to go public in July 1981 and operates the oil and gas activities. Select Resources Corporation ("Select") was formed in order to handle all precious and base metal and industrial mineral properties. Select holds and develops two major mineral assets in the State of Alaska; Richardson and Shorty Creek. Tri-Valley Corporation stock is publicly traded on the American Stock Exchange under the symbol "TIV" in the United States and is also traded in Europe on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under the symbol "TVC WKN 911919."
