Should've stopped at 'I just don't know...' Now tell us all what is inaccurate, much less screwed up, about the following. Add the stock market valuation and GDP to my list and please recall the wonderfulness of 2020 and the orange guy's masterful response to Covid.
Yeah, adults who recognize that one bad debate performance does not negate 3 and 1/2 years of a presidency that has seen the beginning of the rebuilding of an infrastructure badly in need, creation of new chip manufacturing capacity, and new job creation eclipsing Trump pre-Covid numbers. And despite what the orange goof claimed, Biden secured the cap on insulin prices.
I just don't know how you dems could have screwed up the last 3+ yrs anymore than you have
Thanks for playing ;)
We need to keep the faith.🤞🤞🤞🤞
It's all we have.
hap0206, How many times has your fraudulent votes been debunked for you? Yet you repeatedly repeatedly, yes that many times, repeat your lie. This time you made another mistake, you shortchanged Trump. One more below your:
"Very few of the 69 cases were tried on their merits -- most were dismissed for lack of standing or other legal disqualifications -- Biden -- 81 million votes -- more than any other president ever -- Trump 67 million votes -- more than any other president ever -- wonder where those votes came from -- mail-in pallets w/o creases -- wonder how the PO delivered them -- be nice to know "

The claim: There are just 133 million registered voters in the US
The 2020 election season saw record voter turnout across the country. President-elect Joe Biden now holds the record for the most votes received by a presidential candidate, after getting more than 81 million.
Despite losing dozens of lawsuits and the Electoral College's certification of Biden's win, President Donald Trump's campaign and others continue to promote falsehoods about the credibility and security of the election.
A Dec. 21 Facebook post, which pulled a screenshot of a Twitter post, claimed Biden somehow received 22 million phantom votes. The post has over 1,200 shares, as of Dec. 30.
"Simple math: Trump got 74 million votes and there are only 133 million registered voters in the USA," the tweet claims. "Even if everyone who's registered actually voted, there would only be 59 million votes left for Biden. So how the hell did Biden get 81 million votes? 22 million extra?"
The Facebook user who made that particular post has not returned a request for comment from USA TODAY.
Another Facebook user made the same claim without pulling a screenshot from Twitter. USA TODAY has also reached out to this user for comment.
And the Twitter account MSM Fact Checking posted a similar claim on Dec. 18, from which many viral Facebook posts stem.
In a follow-up tweet, the MSM Fact Checking Twitter account tries to show its math: "Just to clarify there were 213,799,485 registered voters in 2020 of which conflicting sources say turnout was between 60% - 65%. I averaged it out at 62.5% which means just over 133,500,000 registered voters voted. 74,000,000 Trump + 81,000,000 Biden = 155,000,000."
And then, "Just for complete transparency, even at 65% turnout the total would be just over 138,000,000 voters resulting in over 155,000,000 votes. However you look at it, it doesn't add up."
The MSM Fact Checking account has its direct messaging turned off so it could not be reached for comment.
Fact check: After endorsing him, New York Post now pushes Trump to accept Biden's victory
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/12/29/fact-check-ny-post-encourages-trump-accept-bidens-victory/4075001001/
Voter registration and turnout totals
The post is correct in its accounting of Trump's vote totals. He received more than 74 million votes. The vote total for Biden, 81 million, also is correct, putting the overall total at more than 155 million votes cast.
What the tweets get wrong is the number of voters. There are more than 234 million people eligible to vote in the U.S. Not all of those people are registered voters, however.
In its thread of tweets, the account MSM Fact Checking provided conflicting calculations without citing sources. The initial post claimed there were 133 million registered voters. In another tweet, it claimed there were 213 million registered voters with a voter turnout rate of 62.5%. All of these numbers are false.
We know, after weeks of counting, that there were roughly 159 million ballots cast in the presidential election. According to the Election Project, this accounts for 66.7% of the eligible voting population of 239 million Americans..
The U.S. Census Bureau publishes voter registration totals for the nation; its 2020 numbers are not yet available.
But for example, in the 2016 presidential election, there were 157 million registered voters. Of those, 137.5 million voted. And there were 224 million American citizens age 18 or older. All figures are higher than the number in the claim regarding the 2020 election, when voter registration and turnout broke records.
Fact check: No, Joe Biden's brother-in-law does not own Dominion Voting Systems
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/12/24/fact-check-bidens-brother-law-doesnt-own-dominion-voting-systems/4015891001/
Our ruling: Partly false
The claim in the post is rated PARTLY FALSE. The tweet that appears in viral Facebook posts cites correct vote totals for Trump (74 million) and Biden (81 million). But it falsely reports the number of registered voters. More than 159 million registered voters cast ballots in the general election, out of 239 million eligible voters. So it is completely possible that Trump and Biden would post that many total votes.

What the fuck. I don't think I give a flying shit any more. Throw all his cases out.
He and the nazi gop party locked up all the strategic judges and courts like a big chess game and they won.
We're going to have to listen to all his gloating and his mental miget maga's for the rest of the year. While the gop and he keeps appealing, he's won that battle and will be at the election for sure. We just have to hope enough maga'ts died during covid. Too bad he made it out of the hospital.
Why couldn't our side have had a crazy person working in the hospital and injected something into that patient.
When was the last time trump actually answered a question.
He certainly didn't answer any of those asked of him at the debate.
Number 1 — it is not trump responsible for the security of DC
No, he is not. Why would you think he is? The person responsible for the security of DC is the mayor of DC. And his people--the DC cops--were at the Capitol on January 6. Being attacked by the outta control mob.
And the mayor of DC has no National Guard to call on.
No2 Biden, for sure is POTUS for the next 6mos - you are dreaming of you think he is capable of dealing with Putin
Beg pardon? Why does Biden have to "deal with" Putin? Let's let the Ukrainians do that.
What on earth are you talking about? I have NO idea.

Now that is something I NEVER do. Nor do I defame, which is the correct word. I suggest you prove what you say.

July 11th! Sentencing day!
Trump Moves to Overturn Manhattan Conviction, Citing Immunity Decision
Former President Donald J. Trump took the action hours after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling granted him immunity for official acts committed in office.
Donald J. Trump began an effort on Monday to throw out his recent criminal conviction in Manhattan and postpone his upcoming sentencing, citing a new Supreme Court ruling that granted him broad immunity from prosecution for official actions he took as president, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.
In a letter to the judge overseeing the case, Mr. Trump’s lawyers sought permission to file a motion to set aside the verdict, doing so just hours after the Supreme Court issued its landmark ruling involving one of Mr. Trump’s other criminal cases. The letter will not be public until Tuesday at the earliest, after which prosecutors will have a chance to respond.
The move from Mr. Trump’s lawyers came 10 days before the judge was set to sentence the former president for his crimes in Manhattan, where a jury convicted him on 34 felony counts related to his cover-up of a sex scandal in the run-up to the 2016 election. Mr. Trump’s lawyers asked the judge, Juan M. Merchan, to postpone the July 11 sentencing while the judge weighs whether the Supreme Court ruling affects the conviction.
The effort to set aside the conviction might be a long shot. The Manhattan case centers on acts Mr. Trump took as a candidate, not a president.

Tricky riddle for sure - I think I got a small bit:
https://tenor.com/en-CA/view/rage-computer-angry-pissed-off-gif-4514090
I don't see how calling a governor and threatening them either up front or covertly is in any way a presidential duty. orangeshithead has a handful of counts that any court EXCEPT the corrupt supremes would not accept as a presidential duty.
I'm really not sure what ones the nazi justices want the state to throw out. We're going to see how much balls this judge will have in making decisions under tremendous pressure and threats already being received.
Like the 34 count conviction is waiting for sentencing. Anyone else but orangedonshittypants would already have been in prison. The 34 counts sentencing should not be influenced politically. He's a convicted criminal and shouldn't get a pass just because he's running for a political office, no matter whatever one. With all his felonies, he shouldn't even be allowed on a ballot.
But the nazi scrotus figured out how to send it into overtime until after the election. Shittyface will lose and will try and stay in the public eye for as long as possible.
I'm hoping for his plane to lose a door and he gets sucked out over cleveland. That's if his fat ass will fit.
Yes, sad to say. But we've had other bad moments, and recovered from them. So fingers crossed.

Yet another one....Void the 2024 election to start.....not necessary any more
Not sure that last part made anymore sense than Biden did,,,,,,,however
Didn't trump try to void an election? Didn't you deem that illegal? Isn't it anti American? Doesn't that make you as bad? The Atlantic did an article on some dems that said the same...So I suppose dems may possibly follow trump on that...
How would it go over?
So what are you going to do? You spoke of Action'
If Biden decides to call you a societal disrupter, will he be allowed under this new SC decision, put you in prison or perhaps to death?
B402, Regardless of what the future holds Bates would be totally right here:
"White House spokesperson Andrew Bates told Axios: "In every administration, there are individuals who would prefer to spend more time with the President and senior officials. So what are you going to do? You spoke of Action'
Republicans are already burning the country down.
Simple, void the 2024 election to start, not necessary anymore.
Discussion time is over, time to take action
Curious to your course of Action...
Just what action are you and the dems going to take.....Weird out on people, protest and burn chit down.....Call your congressman maybe? Or just call people names........

"Disagree, and here's why.
This debate wasn't going to be about anything decisive, it's half a year early so it was wipe. The fact that shittyface wasn't going to debate even as he was there made it a non event. If there was any decisions, it was that orangeshithead can't debate or follow rules. The moderators were shit. An important part of their job is to moderate and keep people in format.
Within 10 minutes they let fatass ignore all questions, backtrack and go utterly off topic... every... single... time. Then the moderators broke long standing rules that participants can not comment on past questions or reiterate anything within a new question. Perhaps, presidential debates have no rules. We know shithead doesn't believe rules apply to him. I have never seen someone so blatantly bald orange face lie like Thursday night."
Ok I actually agree with most of what you posted about the debate except the first sentence. And current media conversation social and otherwise, is bearing that out. The result of this remains to be seen.
Another thing with your sentiment of your posts, do you have some sort of problem with a possible black woman as president? Could this be a small factor in not being happy with Biden and siding with the 'too old' theory? I would say there's more to your simple 'vote for the lessor of two evils' kind of reasoning.
No I would like having a woman become president. Preferably by being voted in so their mandate is clear. However Kamala Harris is not problem in my mind and I'm wondering what evidence in my post would lead you to think such. You did see where I posted I would be voting for Biden.
And on another unimportant note, isn't joyceschoice your wifes' alias from the past?
I can assure you, I've never had a wife. Where that question came from is a mystery to me. Want to explain?
A White House official said the president "is deeply appreciative of the residence staff's work, but is unused to being waited on regularly or having butlers, so some staff are often allowed to go home early."
Um, how many private butlers does anyone need? Usually, it's one per household.
And he obviously DID have a cold.
Why don't we make up some lies about YOU and spread them all over IHub!! Sound like fun?

That first sentence is a zinger. And so you know that particular two cents of yours isn't worth a razoo.
You really should take heed of blackhawks reply to janice...
https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=174690031 , and of her reply.
America was once a nation that moved mankind forward, now we have a presidential office that wants immunity for testing acceptable law on overthrowing the country.
I can easily see how, under this new SC ruling, that would be a perfectly plausible scenario. A tidy solution to an unpleasant problem.
Really, Hap, you are no longer mentally okay. First of all, His Majesty wasn't talking about third trimester abortions. He said, and has said dozens of times, "abortions" that take place "after birth". THAT is how stupid he is. And how stupid his followers are, for imagining such a person is qualified to be president.

No it doesn't, Ordie. Conspiracy theories are not more credible the more bizarre they are. But you're obviously addicted to them.
But here's a clue: Jill Biden is a real person. She's 73 years old. She's been married to a public figure since 1977, when she was 26. A lot of people have known and followed her life for many years. And they know the "babysitter" story isn't true.
Hey! I have an idea!! Why don't we make up some lies about YOU and spread them all over IHub!! Sound like fun?
LOL, hilarious if this turned voters against Trump -- Roberts’ Rules: Presidents can kill like despots
"Possible delay and crime incentives: key takeaways from Trump immunity case
"Conservative Justices Take Argument Over Trump’s Immunity in Unexpected Direction
[...]The court is unlikely to draw those lines itself, instead returning the case to Judge
Tanya S. Chutkan, of the Federal District Court in Washington, for further proceedings."
[...]The remand might look something like this: Chutkan would have to review the indictment and take out any overt acts she determines as “official”, Trump would probably appeal to the US court of appeals for the DC circuit to get more acts taken out, sending it back to Chutkan."

Regrettably, but not surprisingly, the Supreme Court has now unleashed SEAL Team Six to murder anyone the president directs it to kill.
By focusing only on whether the president’s actions fall within his “official” constitutional duties, rather than the nature of the underlying conduct itself, the majority decision written by Chief Justice John Roberts in the presidential immunity case, Trump v. United States .. https://minnesotareformer.com/2024/07/01/presidential-immunity-extends-to-some-official-acts-supreme-court-rules-in-trump-case/ , gives carte blanche to the ex-president, the current one and future Commanders-in-Chief.
It’s not only political rivals who can be killed at the whim of the president regardless of motivation and without recourse. That indulgence also would extend to anyone he or she wants eliminated.
It looks like ex-President Trump was correct when he famously said he could “shoot somebody” in the middle of Fifth Avenue “and not lose any voters.”
It not only would be devoid of deleterious impact on his supporters, but it would bar any legal consequences as long as it’s done by the military at his behest — even if the militia considers it to be unlawful.
Indeed, if a president, now or in the future, is upset by a ruling of the Supreme Court, he or she could order the Seal Team or other SWAT commandos under his authority to charge into the Supreme Court’s chambers — across the street from the site of the Jan. 6 insurrection, by the way — and slay the justices. It’s all within his “official” duties as Commander-in-Chief.
The Chief Justice wove together his six-member majority with two gimmes: Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas. The former was indisputably in the bag and flying his flag high in favor of even broader full-scale immunity based upon his remark at oral arguments in April that a president needs to be free of legal constraints to assure that he (or she) will follow the law without fear of being prosecuted by later administrations.
That’s probably one of the grossest non-sequiturs issued from that once-exalted body since it declared, before the Civil War, that a Black person is not a “person” in the eyes of the law. Or, nearly 40 years later, that segregation of people of color constitutes “separate but equal” treatment.
As for Thomas, he joined the majority opinion despite it not engaging in the three-pronged analysis that he deems talismanic to constitutional adjudication: text, history, and tradition.
Criminal immunity for a president lacks all three: nothing that says so in the Constitution, although it does refer to potential criminal prosecution in connection with impeachment offenses; there is no historical analog for immunity ever since King George III’s statute was toppled 248 years ago this week following adoption of the Declaration of Independence; and no tradition exists of any president seeking or obtaining immunity for criminality, even the venal Richard Nixon, who didn’t need one after his pardon by his successor, Gerald Ford.
Yet, the absence of all three of those features didn’t deter Thomas from subscribing to the decision by the Chief Justice — perhaps before taking off for another all-expense paid luxury vacation provided by a right-wing billionaire “friend” or a jaunt around the country with his MAGA wife, Ginny, in the ultra RV furnished to him by his wealthy pal.
But the logical extension of Roberts’ rationale has broad tentacles in addition to permitting outright murder. Since the president’s constitutional authority includes providing pardons, nothing would prevent — or penalize — him from taking bribes for granting them.
By the same reasoning, the chief executive’s constitutional authority to appoint ambassadors and other officials and employees of the federal government could be used to solicit pay-offs to the president, the President’s party, family members, friends, or anyone else for that matter, auctioning the positions off them to the highest bidders. That could make for an engaging reality television show: “We’re Making a Deal” or “America’s Got Graft.”
There are a myriad of other illegalities that could occur within the “official” presidential duties enumerated in Article II of the Constitution or implied from them that are given free passes by the deplorable ruling that might go down in infamy as Roberts’ Rules of Disorder.
One of the justices, Neil Gorsuch, remarked at oral arguments that the Court’s ruling would be “one for the ages.”
This one is not going to age well.

These discussions about a president. America has really become a shit hole country.
Those questions are corrupted -- did not steal documents.
Yes he did. And no, HE is corrupt. Tremendously corrupt, as he himself might say.
talking to his VP about anything is immune
Really? Let's say he talked to his VP about robbing a bank. And then the bank was actually robbed. Would he and his VP still be immune? I think that would piss off most sane people.
True, he'll never do it.
Another similarity..... Biden has adults in the room?....Ah the trump era when we were so glad people stayed to have adults in the mix....
Now, one can hope for the same......
..................
Joe Biden's close aides have carefully shielded him from people inside and outside the White House since the beginning of his presidency.
Why it matters: The intermittent access has resulted in many current and former White House aides being shocked at the 81-year-old president's limitations at the debate Thursday night.
Driving the news: Current and former White House aides are feeling whiplash — and now questioning whether Biden could fulfill a second term.
"It's time for Joe to go." That's what Chandler West, the White House's deputy director of photography from January 2021 to May 2022, wrote in an Instagram story after the debate.
"I know many of these people and how the White House operates. They will say he has a 'cold' or just experienced a 'bad night,' but for weeks and months, in private, they have all said what we saw last night — Joe is not as strong as he was just a couple of years ago," West wrote, according to screenshots obtained by Axios.
Reached by phone, West said he wrote the post because "the debate was not the first bad day, and it's not gonna be the last." He declined to comment further.
The president and his team have acknowledged Biden had a bad night but said he had a cold.
Zoom in: Biden's behavior stunned many in the White House in part because Biden's closest aides — often led by Jill Biden's top aide, Anthony Bernal, and deputy chief of staff Annie Tomasini — took steps early in his term to essentially rope off the president.
Even the White House's residence staff, which serves the first family in the mansion's living quarters, has been kept at arm's length.
A former residence official told Axios that Jill Biden was "so protective of the president, and then Anthony just protects her, and they often wouldn't let us do anything for them."
"The separation between the family and the residence staff was so big, so divided," the former official said. "It's not supposed to be and usually isn't, even in the Trump White House."
A White House official said the president "is deeply appreciative of the residence staff's work, but is unused to being waited on regularly or having butlers, so some staff are often allowed to go home early."
Bernal, Tomasini and other close aides had easy access to the residence area of the White House (marked RES on passes).
Some residence staff found it unusual — political staffers typically don't have such access — and another example of the tight circle around the president.
The White House official said: "Annie and Anthony never requested to have 'Res' on their badges and there are other political staff who have that designation, too."
The intrigue: The former residence official recounted an early incident that set a tone for many residence staffers.
On July 4, 2021, Biden hosted a party on the South Lawn in which he declared "independence" from the coronavirus pandemic.
It was a hot day and after hours outside, Biden went back into the White House through the Diplomatic Room, and then into the nearby Map Room.
Biden sat down and the door was abruptly shut as Biden's aides blocked the White House butlers and residence staff from aiding the president.
They suggested to the staffers that the president was just a little overheated. But the episode left residence staff feeling like his close aides were creating a barrier around anything possibly related to the president's health, the former official said.
Asked about the incident, the White House official told Axios: "There are many reasons for presidents to need some staff to leave the room at any time, because they often deal with sensitive information."
Between the lines: Shielding Biden was a safe and obvious move during COVID. But some within the White House have felt that some of those habits have lingered long afterward.
White House spokesperson Andrew Bates told Axios: "In every administration, there are individuals who would prefer to spend more time with the President and senior officials. President Biden fights hard for families every day, working with a wide range of team members at what he is proud is the most diverse White House ever - and achieving historic results for the American people because of his determination, values, and experience.

FBI planting "top secret" stuff -- do not know...
If you don't know, then don't make unsupported allegations. There is no reason to suspect the FBI of anything. They were courteous and correct, which His Majesty didn't deserve. They'd been trying to get those documents back from him for a year. And he kept avoiding turning them over
Finally, when he knew they were coming, he had his goons HIDE some of them where he hoped they wouldn't find them. Alas, when Nauta went to move some of the boxes, he was caught by the security cameras.
every recent ex-president has a library full of documents
Of course they do. The key word is "library". The documents contained in those libraries--the ones that come from the president's time in office--are OWNED BY the National Archive.
The former president in question is not allowed to take them home and read them in bed.
Bullshit. He stole the documents, otherwise law enforcement would not have gone after them to get them back. And otherwise Trump would not have failed in his obstruction of said law enforcement.
You are saying in a president asking his VP to kill someone he would have immunity. If sanctioning the murder of a political opponent is a result of this verdict it is a travesty. The United States would never be seen as a leading democratic country again.
"Those questions are corrupted -- did not steal documents -- talking to his VP about anything is immune -- likely those charges will be dropped -- a dispute over document classification cannot happen because obviously such classification is part of his presidential duties"
You say likely those charges will be dropped. I'd say you are wrong re Smith's case. Asking Georgia to find more votes is likely the charge in the most danger, i would guess.
You don't have any issues with RFK Jr? Is that what you're saying?
Let's test the theory; President Biden needs to have trump arrested. The charges can be determined later. Trump is an imminent threat upon the wording of the Constitution. No trial, or court proceedings are necessary. The president has determined there is a possible threat upon the constitution. While trump sits in jail, he has an unfortunate accident, the president is held harmless because it was his official duty.
Just google "abortions in third trimester" -- big problem -- core of abortion debate -- Nancy responsible for DC security -- admitted as such -- Biden destroying USA -- so true -- 11/5 can't get here soon enough
Yes I have read most all those refuting it which means it really is true. Just my two cents on the special links you all live to post. Written by folks with bias or an A.I. dumb bot. Not true or true that went out the window quite a few Presidents ago. All subject to opinion just how you all deal with Trumpy’s story times.

A forum to present, discuss, debate and lampoon matters of interest great and small, including matters political.
A place to share, and preserve, all manner of information, speculation, analysis, commentary, opinion and humor.
Include source links when available.
All points of view are welcome here; a progressive, "reality-based" point of view is well represented here.
Only specific investing/trading discussions are, as such, off-topic here, banished to other good homes on iHub.
More general discussions of business and economic matters, including the markets, are in bounds and fair game.
Beyond specific investing/trading discussions, there are no forbidden topics here.
Strong language understood and tolerated in context, as in a pertinent quoted source or for a sincere emphasis.
Avoid gratuitous usages; avoid regular or routine use.
Heated arguments understood and tolerated in context, so long as they remain focused primarily on points at issue.
Avoid gratuitous taunting and baiting; avoid initiating personal spats; don't just troll.
